Came here last night of Holiday as restaurant looked lovely from outside. We were met at the door and told where to sit by a member of staff with an arrogant attitude and no customer skills whatsoever. Restaurant was filling up and he was obviously in a hurry trying to rush us. In such a hurry only took order for 3 drinks and left my wife with no drink. Same person was very abrupt and dismissive about menu questions. We were going to up and leave at this point and wished we had. Ordered main meals however four couverts comprising of olives and cold bits of carrots plus some chorizo came to the table which we presumed were complimentary as we had not ordered. These were not eaten however they were charged on the bill. Two steaks were ordered one med one med to well and there was total confusion as to which one was which by the waiting staff and they got it the wrong way round. The food was lovely though but spoilt night with the rudeness and arrogance but was all smiles when we left to pay the bill. Had to move tables as it was very noisy. Such a contrast to Trio down the road who were excellent and food was delicious. We will not be going back to Wild Chicken it will be given a wide berth now.

We ordered starters, mains, sides and fish fingers with chips for our son and asked for his food to come out first with the starters, however his food arrived when we were nearly finished with our main course. They did not charge us for the child meal (€5.50). Now, before ordering, i asked the person who i believe was the owner about the chicken piri piri portion size and he informed me it was a whole chicken. I thought great, i wont need anything else and ordered it. My wife ordered chicken breast with mushroom sauce and we had some potato on the side with veg and spinach too. For starters we got the crispy prawn and bbq chicken wings. Crispy prawns were average, nothing to get excited about but the chicken wings were TERRIBLE. They were ice cold in the middle but totally fried on the outside - which if you are wondering how this could be possible I will tell you they were frozen. We were the only guests in the restaurant and they couldnt even get that right. I sent them back and told them to cancel the starter. Of course they didn't charge for it when the bill came, but i was now worried about my main meal. My piri piri chicken arrived and was a very small portion. I asked the waiter where is the rest, and he informed me that was all, and they only serve half a chicken (this must have been a tiny chicken) so i had no choice but to accept it as was. The worst thing was, it was just all bones and the way they had hacked it up, made it difficult to work out where the bones were, very random imo and unnecessary. It seemed as if they tried to chop it up into many pieces to look like there was more than there actually was. Anyway, my wifes chicken tasted horrible, though the sauce was nice, the actual meat tasted like the cheap, water injected chicken you get usually in cheapo chinese takeaways and loads of it stacked up to compensate for how poor the quality was. The Spinach was out of a tin, thrown about with some garlic and sloshed into a plate. Very bad for a restaurant that looked so nice. The vegetables were nice. When the fish fingers and chips arrived they were just like basics range from a supermarket freezer but i didn't expect much, just informing you if you were wondering what it was like. Overall, the experience was poor, i would definitely not be going back there, much better off popping further down the road to the Tapas and Wine restaurant (check my review of that by searching for Simply Tapas and Vinho, Almancil). Final thought; I believe they have spent a fair bit on making the place look nice to entice you to go in. They have named it WILD CHICKEN which puts so many thoughts of chicken and the ways it could be cooked in your mind but then you enter and see there is just 2 chicken dishes and many other fish and meat options. So if you're craving Chicken this is not the spot to hit. I think the restaurant is looking to hit customers mainly tourists just once as chances are they wont be back anyway and therefore cutting corners on quality of food and is more focused on looks rather than substance, hence why i am making an effort to inform others. Message for the Owner; If the owner cares, i would suggest the following changes to help your business - 1- increae the chicken options on the menu, if your name is Wild Chicken, make sure you have more chicken dishes, snd make them Wild! 2 - dont try serve frozen chicken to people and think you can get away with it. Use fresh chicken and fresh ingredients if you want to get good reviews 3 - tinned Spinach is very obvious, if you have it on the menu, make sure you use fresh spinach so your customers can enjoy it and come back for more 4 - buy a thermometer and make sure you check all food is above 75c before sending it out as you will make people sick from food poisoning 5 - always remember kids have to eat first, so their order has to be put through before anyone else, happy kids mean happy parents Good luck for the future, i hope you take my comments constructively and improve your offering and wish you all the success for the future.

In comparison to many other resturants in the area, this place is excellent. Quality of food is very good, and value for money is superb. This restaurant has definately entered our top 5 and it's child friendly!! Not too formal, and a relaxed atmosphere, great for a week day (excellent) meal out. Great job guys and we will continue to return.

Insgesamt OK. Die Vorspeisen waren kalt und wirkten sehr danach als wären sie aus der Tiefkühltruhe. Außerdem war der Preis für die Menge zu hoch. Die Hauptgänge waren im Gegensatz zu den Vorspeisen sehr gut. Besonders das Piri-Piri Chicken für 8,50€ war sehr lecker. Die Spareribs waren auch lecker. Außerdem waren die Portionsgrößen besser als bei den Vorspeisen. Die Salate waren sehr sparsam gehalten wobei man bei einem Preis von ungefähr 3€ auch nichts Großes erwarten kann. Die Pommes waren sehr knusprig und geschmacklich auch sehr gut. Deswegen Würde ich insgesamt 3 Sterne geben.

Quiet and well decorated place, and very nice staff. The food is good, but a little under portion for the price in my opinion.

Nice restaurant, we visited twice in our 12 day vacation in the Algarve. The food is good and the staff are very friendly. Great value, would recommend.

I called Wild Chicken on Thursday enquiring if I could order a take away. I was assured by the owner Alvaro not only could I have the takeaway but he would deliver it personally. Delighted to hear this I made an order for Piri Piri chicken however, much to my disappointment when the food was delivered by Alvaro I was shocked to discover a bent salami

Turned up for lunch, a waiter started to seat us and then another member of staff came a told us we had to leave because they were reserved. There was a sign up outside saying they were open for lunch and the restaurant was empty. They obviously just didn’t want to open the kitchen yet.
