This review will only be for the surf lessons. We were two guys with different levels and got a semi-private lesson from one of the instructors. Prices are comparable to the average of the area (Aljezur and the south in general) and they were flexible enough to allow us to rent the gear up to the afternoon. The lesson was quite dynamic and the instructor adapted to our skill level on the go, helping us along with the basics and showing us a bit of advanced stuff. Overall a good experience with no major flaws worth lowering the score.

All in All the Concept and Place of arrifana Surf lodge is good! But there is one thing: Im not dropping names, The surfinstructor with the Long dark grey hair is totally aggressive and without respect for other surfers Around him. With this guy, i felt super uncomfortable in and Outside the water. Sorry but this destroys my whole surftrip.

Super Surfschule & Trainer. Ich hatte nur zwei Tage Zeit und habe deswegen einen Personal Surfcoach für die Tage gebucht und das war genau richtig. "Aldo" ist ein sehr netter, entspannter Typ und auch ein super Surfcoach. Am Anfang gab es immer ein bisschen Theorie und danach konnte ich fast jede Welle nehmen. Amazing place with a special atmosphere. We had a great time. Hospitality level very high and surfing classes profound and enjoyable. A perfect place to meet people from around the world.

An amazing lodge! If you want to learn surfing and to feel like a part of the family it's a perfect place. Sarah and Aldo (plus surf instructors and volunteers) created a chill and cozy place to enjoy beaches of Algarve. They provide you with a continental breakfast, yummy lunch box and delicious dinner (chefs prepare it 5 days a week). Surf lessons are provided every day with 2 sessions, and there are usually few instructors so every level is welcomed. You can also rent a board and a wetsuit there. The maximum amount of guests is around 15 people, so you will always get connected with each other. Usually the season is from march to November. I was there in November, so it was more relaxed, less guests, and bigger waves. In summer there are smaller waves but more of a party and sunny vibe. Arrifana beach is 25 minutes by foot, Aljezur is 10 min by car. Nearest pizzeria and burger place are just 50m, nearest supermarket is 15 min walk. You can also do long walks by the coast with epic sunsets. Enjoy

Amazing experience! Aldo and Sarah provide a fantastic service. All their instructors are professional and friendly. They focus on safety which is so important and make it fun and not intimidating. I’ve been coming back for lessons over the last 1 1/2 years and they are always so welcoming and my confidence in the water grows every time. I highly recommend them, a fantastic experience all round.

Horrible surfing experience, I highly disliked the instructors. The place is fairly good for staying a few days, but I’m pretty sure that is not the best one around.

Having experienced lots of hostels, group activities and so on in my years, believe me Aldo and Sarah's is very, very good. Expect a warm, friendly, inclusive atmosphere. You will get a very experienced, professional surf schooling, all the advice and laughs you want. If you want to learn to surf, be well fed, well loved and happy, GO!

Great place to learn! Super awesome staff willing to help with everything! Rides into town, missing items, and pickup/drop off in other towns.
