PROS: - Hostel atmosphere/environment - Reception - Breakfast - Booze Cruise TO IMPROVE: - Cleanliness of rooms

This was honestly one of the most exciting places I've visited during my 6 months of travelling, it's hard to write it all down! Do yourself a favour and book as many nights in this magical place as you can! I ended up extending twice due to the amazing staff and great atmosphere! I will be back again soon!!

Had a great time at this hostel. Everyone went to the beach in the day, and everyone is invited. The common area is big and has an outside it, and has Netflix. They have pre drinks every day and take you on a bar crawl - everything is so cheap! It's a 5 min walk from the beach and all the restaurants and have shops to buy drinks next door. Room was great, with locker and great shower. Big shout out to Alex for being an amazing person!

I've been hearing about Rising Cock Hostel for about 10 years, so since I'm usually around Lagos many times per year I decided to book one night in the hostel. Since it's a party hostel that was exactly the reason why I booked it: party. There is a common area where everyone was drinking and playing some games, unfortunately the atmosphere didn't seem very inviting and I was upset since the other guests probably knew each other already and didn't let me get in. There was a pubcrawl too where several people didn't attend too. I checked out before breakfast, maybe I was just unlucky... On the other hand the location is great in the heart of the town near the beach and the bars, the hostel seemed clean, and Viktor who checked me in was very friendly and welcoming. I'll be back to Lagos soon but don't know if I will give a second chance to this place.

Honestly, best party hostel I’ve ever been to! Richie and Victor are amazing guys, the entire staff is so welcoming and obviously Mama is the best!

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans cet auberge de jeunesse. Viktor et Richie sont des hosts au top! Sympathiques, à l'écoute et avec dess belles personnalités ! Dès notre arrivé ils nous ont accueilli incroyablement bien. Nous avons passé des très bonnes soirées aussi pendant les sorties organisées. Et le petit-déjeuner du matin préparé par mama il est juste parfait... On retournera sans doute !

Hostel is a pretty nice, very buzzy and full of nice Australians. This is the first hostel where I saw double bunk bed, and even it could seem there is no much space in the small room we managed to handle it. Maybe the reason lays in fact this hostel is designed just for short sleeping, and during days they expect from you to be outside, on beaches or partying. In the morning nice smell of pancakes (crepes) will make you move out of bed no matter for how long you have been partying the previous night. 'Mom' also makes very good, yet simple, warm lemon tea from lemon skin. She is very communicatve, full of energy and helpfull. Upon our arrival we were given bracelets which serves to get free shooters during Pub Crawl, but also as identification if police find you unconscious without ID. Bathrooms and showers are clean, but sometimes that depends more on person who was before you and how did left it, so I couldn't blame the hostel stuff for some unpleasent/unclean experiences which one may encounter. Just obey the rules and clean after you use it! All 4 of us wished we could stay longer in this nice hostel, close to beach and in near proximity of night bars. First one is Nah Nah Bah just across the street, in which we missed to try their famous burgers. Maybe I expected some parties going on inside hostel but in fact you can have a good rest as there were no (loud) music. My praise goes to hostel stuff, too. Michael from NYC and czech girl at reception desk were also very communicative and in the mood to socialize. All the best from Croatia! Stayed August 2014, traveled with friends

Amazing experience. Mama takes care of everyone so well as if they were her own. PAUL was an absolute legend, and Charlie gets an honourable mention too. Thanks guys for the awesome stay and will definitely recommend to everyone!

Awesome hostel blocks away from the action. Friendly staff. They made reservations for me. Also shows D.C. me where ho park. Always up to answer your questions. What else can ask for ... recommended

This hostel is very disorganized in terms of bookings and keeping track of guests. We booked 2 beds for 3 nights and on the 3rd we were kicked out of our bed at 12 midnight and ended up having to share a bed. The reception staff had moved our stuff onto the floor when we were out for drinks. This happened also to another group of girls in our room so we had 10 people in a 8 bed room. We got our money back for the bed but it was upsetting to see our belongings treated that way. The redeeming qualities of this hostel are the location and breakfast. It's perfect for walking around and there's lots of cute cafes and shops nearby. 5-10 minute Uber to amazing beaches as well. The breakfast is homemade crepes every morning which were delicious.

DONT RECOMMEND, got BED BUGS my first night, Staff offered to wash sheets and wash all my clothes, after this happened night 2, i physically caught the bug and took it to staff, They said they would report to boss (MAMMA) i woke up inflamed with bugs BITES all over me, having to get multiple creams and antibiotics, requested to change rooms but was unable to as it was full, so they moved me to another bed in the room, in alot of pain unable to enjoy my time in LAGOS, night 3 i requested a refund or half a refund at least as i was unable to sleep and unable to do anything in lagos because of pain, Day 3 - last day! - i was hospitalised and got a steroid shot as well as multiple blood tests and steroid tablets, requested a partial refund and MAMMA was very rude about it stating that stuff happens in hostels etc, not happy with the service at all and not giving it a star because it doesn't deserve anything.

Hereby Reviewing the Rising Cock Booze cruise. I have not stayed at the hostel! 1.) Booze cruise ended 1 hour early, no compensation was given. 2.) Beer was inadequately cooled, its not really fun to drink lukewarm beer in the heat. Staff brings beer on the boat warm and its put in a big water bucket with some ice to cool down. Obviously you cant cool hundreds of beers with one big bag of ice within minutes. 60 minutes into the tour the beers werent cold anymore.3.) Not a cruise, boat is ancored a mile down the marina 4.) No dedicated soundsystem, just a speaker trolley that tour guides use. Overall low value for money. especially considering that the beer is a cheap discount beer. Should be priced around 30 EUR maximum and only really doable if you bring a cooler and some ice. Management didnt respond to my request concerning a partial refund considering that the tour ended prematurely. Giving two stars as the staff was nice and motivating.

Great hostel environment if you want to party with other travelers. Pub crawl every day with fun staff. Stellar breakfast and a good location.

OK simply this place is good if you are party animal other than that it is not work So if you just like party but not a party animal then maybe it is not that much The hostel encourage drinking , and people start drinking as early as 8am Kitchen very small and common area small as well Staff are nice , the lady who prepare the breakfast is cool Bathrooms not much clean

Great place to stay with plenty of bar crawls , booze cruises and very friendly staff. Mama always makes crepes every morning for us hungover lads! Although not having AC in the rooms during summer can make it pretty hard to sleep
