Update 2019 hält nicht mehr das es verspricht! Steak tot gebraten als Medium bestell und Stück Schuhsohle bekommen. Als reklamiert wurde keinerlei Reaktion. Schwach war früher echt gut

The last 3 times we wen‘t there, everything was perfect. Today we were disappointed about the meal and the Service. My main course (chicken) was good, the Steak from my boyfriend was so sad :( he ordered it Medium and the Steak was well done, but that ist not all, the meat was full of tendons, so that it was not really fun to eat. After the Dinner we said this to the Service and...... nothing happened :( no sorry, no free drink or a reduction of the bill. That‘s not really what we understand of good Service and Quality.

Sehr, sehr leckeres Essen, aber eher etwas teuer und relativ wenig. Geschmacklich jedoch wie erwähnt volle Punktzahl. Bedienungen sehr zuvorkommend.

Absolutely amazing restaurant, the meat here is fab, my husband had the pork kebab, oh my god it was amazing. Also recommend the kids portegeuse steak. Off the beat on track so we knew it was going to be a hidden gem. Very reasonable aswell.

Un sitio realmente espectacular a un precio más que recomendable. Si nunca has probado la Cataplana de pescado, es un plato que no te puedes perder, junto a una gran variedad de vinos y postres para rematar una velada perfecta.

I was lucky enough to grow up eating at museu dos salgados in the summer for holidays and its honestly an amazing place to eat. Its fairly small compared to other restaurants and may go unnoticed but make sure that you at least go once, make an event out of it, don't be afraid to spend big because the experience you'll get out of it will be way worth it. No food has brought a tear to my eye but after not visiting in years and ordering the peri peri prawns after all that time caused that. It was that good.

Excellent food, fish especially and the onion soup is frankly obscenely good. Excellent service too, lovely ambiance, is bigger inside than it looks and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Péssima escolha. Restaurante direcionado para turistas que pagam e não reclamam com a qualidade. A sopa de cebola é tenebrosa, com tosta e queijo gratinado que mais parece um bocado de plástico. O creme de marisco é só de nome, porque marisco nem vê-lo.
Uma noite estragada completamente, não recomendo!

So don’t be fooled by the outside appearance. Inside you will be welcomed by a helpful staff and dishes that are amazing. Rui is a very cultured chef with knowing a lot of languages but mostly for making dishes that you will remember. Of course a family atmosphere restaurant also means that it’s cozy and makes you feel at home. If the restaurant is full, just be patient with the short staff and your experience will be great. Museo dos Salgados gives you such an experience with taste of different spices. We have tried different restaurants and this restaurant is memorable. Thank you Rui & Staff Museo Dos Salgados. Only just finished the starter but this establishment is getting 5 stars already. Wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable service, and fantastic food, in an unassuming rustic location. A great end to our week in the sun.

FANTASTIC the best place to eat in the area, staff very friendly and accommodating, good knowledge of wines and give great recommendations, food cooked fresh and to order so sometimes when busy take a little longer than usual. Good outside seating area too.

O Museu dos Salgados é um restaurante lindíssimo com uma decoração maravilhosa, a comida tem uma boa apresentação, no entanto alguns pratos foram servidos com sal em excesso, nomeadamente o peixe grelhado, o bife teria sido perfeito se tivessem retirado as partes menos tenras pois o centro do bife estava perfeito, houve ainda algumas trocas e confusão nas bebidas por parte da empregada.
A expectativa que tinha era muito.alta, foi uma experiência apenas razoável.
Preço elevado para o serviço.

Interessante ementa. Boa composição e apresentação dos pratos. Mas falta sabor, às vieiras incluídas nas entradas, ao marisco da caçarola. O naco de carne maturada tem demasiada gordura e pouca carne. Sobremeses top.

Restaurante com bom ambiente e a comida é muito boa e de qualidade o preço é um pouco elevado mas a qualidade paga-se. O Chefe fez boas sugestões e o funcionário da sala sugeriu um bom vinho e tem conhecimento do que recomenda parabéns. Vamos recomendar e repetir melhor restaurante do Algarve

We had 5 night stay at Salgados Dunas Suites. It is about 25 minute walk to this restaurant but really well worth the hike! Lovely staff so friendly. food was really very good and nice local wines served at a good price. it was so good we visited it twice in spite of the walk. thank you for the experience.

très belle découverte. cadre typique, menu aussi, plats copieux et excellents. service adorable, en français parfaitement compréhensible. seul bémol: ce jour là (?), manque criant de personnel. arrivés à l'heure de notre réservation, nous avons attendu 20 minutes dans l'entrée avant d'aller aux cuisines demander qu'on nous place!

Organisatorisch schlecht: wir haben über 30min auf die Getränkebestellung gewartet,dann kam die "Chefin" im Abstand von 10min um uns (Gruppe 7 Personen) zu erklären das es das Fleisch "x" nicht mehr gibt und dann Fisch "y" gerade raus und nicht verfügbar ist.Der Ober störte durch seine "Überaufmerksamkeit" in dem er ständig Wasser nachschüttete.
Die Rechnung war fehlerhaft!
Das Essen war fantastisch!

Arrivés par hasard dans ce restaurant, nous avons apprécié l accueil souriant, le service et les conseils , et surtout une cuisine délicieuse.. les "garçons" en parlent encore et notamment du soufflé au chocolat..

We had a really nice meal at this up-market restaurant. Despite being a bit posher than expected, it was definitely still family friendly. Nice staff, VERY good food and good service. Highly recommended.

Lovely traditional style restaurant. Spotless clean, staff so friendly and professional especially our waitress Claudia who was very accommodating. Only thing one thing I would change next time I go - too much sauce on the chicken dish so I would order sauce on the side however that is just a personal choice. Husband gave the Trio dish 10/10. Will return!

The sangria is a must and I recommend ending the evening with some tawny port! This restaurant has a wonderful, warm atmosphere and the hosts are just welcoming! The octopus is mouth watering. The restaurant is only 2km from vidamar resort.

What an absolute gem of the place with the loveliest owners. We arrived rather late due to a delayed flight and they welcomed us with open arms. We were the only customers in the restaurant as it was so late and they treated us like royalty. The food is to die for and the seafood is incredible. You have to visit this place!

Surprisingly this restaurant is very nice inside from what you would expect looking from the outside. We had reserved our table in advance due to having our 6month old with us. After seeing the varied menu, we were very eager to receive our dishes. We picked a bottle of red which was well rounded, I had the grilled steak €25 and my partner had the cod fillet in a creamy basil sauce. My steak was over done when asked for medium-rare, watery like it had been frozen and flavourless. My partners cod fillet was dry and over cooked. We were really disappointed as we expected so much more when arriving and viewing the menu. Staff were very friendly and accommodating however they seemed a little rushed off their feet. We did not stick around for dessert.

Très bonne surprise. Nous cherchions un endroit à côté de notre hôtel pour manger autre chose que la nourriture standardisée pour touristes. Nous y avons dîné 2 soirs avec grand plaisir. Plats de poissons frais très bien cuisinés, sur base de recettes locales. Carte de vins portugais. Service très agréable en français.

This is probably the best restaurant in the Albufeira area for 10 km. The food is outstanding without paying through the roof. The service is great all year around, while Chef Rui just has a passion for food which comes from his 16 years is Switzerland.

To be honest the exterior and location were initially off putting but once inside we were pleasantly surprised and then the food arrives and it was fantastic. Great food, great service and very affordable for that quality.

Enjoyed a great 3 course meal at Museu dos Salgados.
The staff are very friendly and attentive and happy to recommend local wines to match your meal.
Stated with the house sharing platter with a mix of cheese, olives, warm just baked bread, garlic carrots and a chorizo style sausage.
For mains we both opted for the Portuguese steak with pickled veg and fried sliced potatoes. A rich garlic taste and perfectly cooked
Pudding we opted for chocolate soufflé and a passion fruit panna cotta. Neither disappointed!
Already hoping we get to visit this gorgeous restaurant before the holiday finishes.
A must!

Great restaurant with excellent high quality food that is well worth a visit. Prawns in garlic were some of the best I had which is high praise indeed given the area and competition for this dish! Located next to an extremely friendly sports bar with pool (the dry kind), darts and footy on the TV! Great value for money and a great stop after the beach or horse riding locally. All in all fantastic value and an ideal place for a sumptuous family meal.
