Fantastic food and great service! Melon with Porto wine was a very nice, different starter, which could even be a dessert. And I highly recommend the monk fish and prawn skewer which is out of this world! Finished it off with a great apple cake. Fantastic setting just adds to the experience!

Best meal in Algarve, nice view, beautiful sunset, delicious food, friendly staff. Parking spaces at the restaurant are short, but plenty free parking nearby.

Pyszne jedzenie ( świeże ryby - sea bass pychotka, świetna przystawka awokado i papaja z krewetkami a na deser tarta z migdałami !! - polecam historię jak się pojawiły migdały w Portugali, romantyczna ), niebywały widok i wielkie gratulacje dla obsługi !! Cudnie

Отличный ресторан, Рыба очень вкусная, Десер просто волшебный (кушала Tart from almond, fig and alfarroba). Цена соответствует качеству. Советую очень. На карте ресторан малозаметен, но посетить must have.

Wonderful restaurant overlooking Benagil cove. In the summer they have a big terrace for eating outside which I would guess gets busy but it was quieter out of season. We had simple, delicious freshly caught sea bass but they had a good selection of other fish. The menu isn't as extensive as some but was more than adequate and focused on local produce cooked well. The staff were welcoming, attentive and happy to suggest and make recommendations

Anders als wohl >90% der „Pasta-Burger-Fisch-Fleisch-Alles“-Restaurants in 15km Umgebung. Klein, sehr schlanke Karte, so stelle ich mir das vor. Fisch zur Perfektion gegrillt, *keine* Pommes dazu.

Uniquely positioned overlooking Benagil Cove and beach. Nautical feel with attentive staff and spectacular fresh catch on offer daily, all fished off the Algarve coast. Good wine list. Recommended.

Für einen kleinen toten Fisch mit bisschen Tomatensalat und 3 Kartöffelchen 40 Euro zu verlangen ist auch dreist, hungrig waren wir auch noch.

Excelente local com vista mar, local acolhedor, funcionários muito proficionais e simpáticos sempre disponíveis a ajudar, com peixe sempre fresco de excelente qualidade. 5 estrelas, vale a pena a deslocação.

Hier wurden wir in unserem Urlaub richtig verwöhnt.... leckere portugiesische Gerichte von der Vorspeise; Hauptgang und Dessert einfach top. Ein Traum war der Mandel- Feigenkuchen und nicht zu vergessen die Melone mit Portwein... ein Schmaus

Wir haben auf Google nach einem Restaurant in der Nähe gesucht und uns auf die Bewertung verlassen. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen! Haben gegrillten Schwertfisch und grilled mixed Kebab bestellt und ist sehr zu empfehlen! Außerdem sehr schöne Kulisse und freundliche Bedienung.

Très bon service, serveurs très agréables. Plats corrects mais sans plus, un peu déçus par rapport aux très bons commentaires que nous avions lu. Nous avons pris de la sole grillée, elle était correct mais pas wahou et les pommes de terre en accompagnement n'étaient pas assez cuites ... Par contre bon dessert.

Comida excelente grelhada no carvão, peixe e marisco muito frescos. Também têm muitos mais pratos, tipo cataplana e carnes, mas ainda não provei. Ficará para a próxima porque certamente vou voltar. Serviço impecável. Bem localizado, boas vistas sobre a vila e a praia de Benagil. Preço muito bom em relação à qualidade, muito melhor que em muitos restaurantes que já visitei na área de Lagoa, Carvoeiro. A visitar e voltar.

Una atención excelente y la comida fenomenal. Me sorprendió la papaya rellena de gambas con una salsa rosa espectacular. La brochetas de gambones y pescado también exquisita. Mereció la pena acercarnos por este rincón. Pd. Mejor reservar, estaba lleno.

What a wonderful place I have found at O Algar. The food is great, nice ambiance, really great service and not so expensive. €100 four people, starter's, main course, wine and dessert. The fish was fresh, the meat wel prepared and the desert was homemade and delicious. We went without a reservation and could only sit inside. So if you want to sit outside be sure to make a reservation in time..

Family owned and operated . Mom is the chef and she cooks up great meals! Fresh fish daily . Wait staff is superb. Ask for a blanket if it is chilly. G4eat view of the cove. Very romantic.

Absolutely fantastic meal and brilliant staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the fig, almond and carob cake is one of the best desserts I have had. Going back tonight for more!!!!!!!

Atendimento 5 estrelas. Empregados extremamente simpáticos, comida deliciosa e óptimas sobremesas. Peixe do dia é a estrela, mas a carne grelhada também é recomendada. A sobremesa "trilogia algarvia" fez muito sucesso na nossa mesa.

Nourriture correcte mais rien d'extraordinaire.
En revanche, nous avons attendu 1h40 avant d'être servi alors qu'ils n'y avait pas tant de monde que ça...
Nous allions nous lever pour partir quand ils ont amené les plats.

I will not even give one star for a Very rude person on the phone , the hotel receptionist called around 4 pm few time and no one was answering then we try around 6:30 as mention on them google and this person saying nothing available until 9 pm and when I mention we are trying to call since 4 pm and no answer kept arguing no I am here from 3 pm , if you don't understand what your saying better you learn English because as a coustomer i don't have to lie and that's what your meaning about my call and actually wasn't me who made the call it was the reception and I was there , very bad customer service and I just decided not to waste my time with people like that

Wenn man richtig guten Fisch essen will, sollte man hierher gehen.
Allerdings ist eine Vorbestellung sinnvoll. Wir hatten das nicht gemacht und hatten Glück, dass wir noch einen Tisch im Innenraum bekamen.
Außen wäre auf Grund der Aussicht sicher besser gewesen, aber was soll's.
Wir hatten uns für den fangfrischen Fisch des Tages interessiert und bekamen 3 oder 4 verschiedene Fische gezeigt.
Wir haben dann einen Drachenkopffisch ausgesucht, den wir noch nie gegessen hatten. Und ja, er war teuer. Aber es hat sich gelohnt. Der Fisch war wunderbar.

We ate outside on the terrace and the views are stunning. If you're after a romantic meal while you're in the Algarve, this is your place. The food is delicious (we had the monkfish and clam cataplana) washed down with an ice cold bottle of vinho verde. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent. Bill was also reasonable unlike some of the tourist traps down the road in Carvoeiro. Make sure you call ahead to book a table.

Suuuuuper Essen, extrem professionell zubereitet, wie man es aus guten Restaurants kennt, nicht zu scharf gegrillt, habe Fisch draußen genossen, es war einfach ein Traum, der frische Fisch, die Landschaft, die tolle Bedienung. Bin wegen der Google Rezession hin gefahren und nicht enttäuscht worden.

We were staying in Benagil for three nights and decided to eat out for one of them. We wanted a restaurant within walking distance and so looked at each of the potential places' menus outside before deciding on O Algar for its simple, authentic menu and good prices. Our party had a range of food, all very delicious and the service at the restaurant was very good. The prawns were delicious and there is fresh fish for those who want (we had the sole though I hear the seabass is incredible, too). I'd recommend it for people looking to eat in Benagil, especially if you can sit on the terrace outside (it was a bit cold for us to stay there for our meal but we had a lovely drink before the sunset).

Óptima cozinha, peixe fresquissimo de primeira qualidade, um serviço de 5 estrelas. Sempre que vou ao Algarve não passo sem ir lá jantar. Recomendo cabeça de peixe grelhada. Uma deliciosa experiência .

The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Will answer any questions you have and give good recommendations. We were a large table of 8 with a baby and we got the best service I've had in my whole vacation here. The food was delicious and the view is astonishing. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bite to eat when next to the beach.

Hier passt einfach alles. Der Blick auf der Terrasse über die kleine Bucht ist sehr schön. Wir hatten Fleisch und frischen Fisch und alles war sehr gut. Selbst die Pommes waren selbst gemacht. Und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist auch gut.

Es war einfach ein Erlebnis, hier zu essen. Mit der Weinradelgruppe sind wir eingekehrt und haben den gemischten Fischtopf und vorher Fischsuppe gegessen. Ein Genuss*****! Das Personal war aufmerksam und hat uns sehr sehr freundlich einen schönen Abend beschert. Da kehrt man sehr gern wieder ein. Emfpehlung!!

Das Restaurant O Algar serviert typisch porugiesische Gerichte, sowie die ein oder anderen Leckerein für englische Gäste. Empfehlenswert sind die frischen Fischgerichte, das Steak, die Spare Ribs (Die Kellner zeigen jedes Mal den frischen Fisch des Tages.) Ein Highlight für mich sind die selbstgemachten typischen portugiesichen Kuchen. Kann man sich auch gerne vorher innen anschauen. Im Winter nicht ganz so attraktiv wie im Sommer. Im Sommer empfiehlt es sich rechtzeitig zu reservieren um einen Platz auf der Terrasse zu bekommen,
