We had the prawns to start which were to die for, and the cataplana for mains. Fish was wonderful and fresh and cooked to perfection. What a find! Thank you to the chef! Lovely staff

We went as a family of 10 and they catered for us no problems. My wife is gluten free, and even this was simple: the staff were fully aware and able to tell us what was abalone and suggested alternatives. I would highly recommend and we have returned in a number of occasions.

Really good place for lunch! We definitely recommend the Prawns in piri piri sauce for €9.50 (so good we forgot to take a photo)!!! For mains we had the grilled salmon and grilled swordfish and both were great (also both around €13). Good service too!

Easy to find on the main Street. Easy access. Lovely sangria. We were a party of 6, all our food arrived at the same time which was great!. The food was lovely, the fish dishes were cooked to perfection. Definetly worth a visit. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were very helpful.

Very nice traditional Portuguese restaurant. Homemade Sangria was delicious. The waiters were very helpful in describing local dishes and provided good recommendations.

Excelente restaurante donde vas a comer por una excelente calidad/precio. Los dos platos en las fotos dan de más para una sola persona, por lo que cuidado de no pasaros pidiendo. Uno es el bacalao, super rico y jugoso. El otro es ternera a la portuguesa, un filete de un dedo y medio de grosos en su punto, con una salsa portuguesa para mojar varios bollos.
Además el trato fue excelente en todo momento, por lo que poco más puedo decir salvo que ¡volveré!

Parto subito con un super Elogio alla proprietaria: bravissima accogliente e simpaticissima.
Una cucina vera, sincera.
Abbiamo mangiato davvero molto bene, una zuppa di pesce così fresca e delicata, e dei gamberi che più buoni di così non li abbiamo mai assaggiati.

Une adresse à retenir si vous passez à Carvoeiro. Accueil chaleureux, cadre magnifique, on vous conseille la cataplane de poissons ou le poulvo, on ne n'oubliera pas.

Buen restaurante a un precio razonable. Pedimos un pollo a la brasa con PiriPiri (salsa picante típica del Algarve) y la cataplana (guiso contundente de pescado y marisco acompañado de arroz típico del Algarve). Todo muy bueno. El servicio muy lento. Tardaron bastante en servirnos los platos a pesar de que no había muchas mesas. Salimos a unos 30 euros la pareja. Para repetir.

Good meal, not amazing! Prices are fair and menu with a couple of options, based on local cuisine. This is a restaurant in the main tourist street of Carvoeiro so expect to be tourist oriented. The algarve squid style weren’t fried but rather boiled, unfortunately as it’s one of my favourite dishes from south Portugal. The staff were extremely friendly I must say. It was rather an expectation I had...that based this review

Wir waren super zufrieden, wurden zuvorkommend, freundlich, witzig und herzlich bedient. Das Essen war sehr gut, und entsprach voll und ganz unserer Vorstellung und Bestellung (ein Steak rare, ein Steak medium) und die Weinempfehlung war super.
Wir sind mit dem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis mehr als zufrieden : 3 Personen, Gedeck, Vorspeise, Hauptspeise, Kaffee, eine Flasche Rotwein, Wasser, 3 Digestif 103,00 Euro.
Und gut gesessen. Perfekt.
Reservierung ist sinnvoll, es war nämlich voll besetzt.

Es curioso que con al cantidad de visitantes extranjeros de todas las nacionalidades, las cocinas de la mayoría de locales de la zona cierra a las 22:00-22:30.

El lugar está muy bien situado. Los precios son bastante asequibles para ser un lugar turistico y estar al lado de la playa. La atencion al cliente es esplendida, te sirven la comida de manera muy correcta y hablan perfectamente el español siendo de Portugal. Hablando de la comida, todo esta muy bien preparado y es fresca. Me ha gustado mucho este restaurante.

Personal ist schlecht organisiert und überaus unfreundlich. So kam es, dass uns 3 Speisen verrechnet wurden, die wir weder bestellt, noch konsumiert haben.
Als wir den Kellner freundlich gebeten haben die Rechnung zu korrigieren, tat er,als wären wir selbst an dem Missgeschick schuld. Als Krönung gab er mir auch noch 10€ zu wenig Rückgeld hinaus, Absicht ?
Wir haben uns zu guter Letzt einfach nicht wohl gefühlt und würden deshalb das Lokal nicht weiter empfehlen.

En la semana que llevamos en el Algarve, el mejor restaurante donde hemos comido. Buen trato y una excelente comida. Aconsejo el pescado del día. Esta noche vuelvo para probar el bacalao al horno. Por cierto, el único restaurante donde se nos han dirigido en español en todo momento.

The food here is excellent. Large portions, well priced and there is a real range to choose from on the menu. Service was also great. We had the goats cheese starter, chorizo and salmon tapas, and piri piri chicken, all of which was delicious.

Lokal sauber und Kellner sehr höflich und aufmerksam.
Preislich gesehen auch gut vertretbar obwohl ich mir auf der Fischplatte mehr erhofft hatte.
Portugiesische Wurst die im offenen Feuer am Tisch gebruzzelt wird war nicht so mein Favourite .
Aber man sollte alles im Leben probieren. :)

Oh to be in Carvoeiro again. Sunday supper in Casa Algarvia was as good as I remember and more.
A great welcome and prompt service. Local produce cooked well. But beware main course portions are VERY generous so go easy on the starters and nibbles. Favourite dish this visit was the octopus grill special.

Am Neujahrstag gab es eine kleinere, ausgewählte Karte.
Wir bekamen schnell einen Tisch, mit Glück ohne Reservierung, wenn auch der Service etwas planlos umher lief. Scheinbar waren die Reservierungen eng getacktet, sodass immer wieder Gäste am Eingang auf Ihren reservierten Tisch warten mussten.
Wir bekamen die falsche Vorspeise, waren aber mit dem angebotenen glücklich: eingelegte Möhren, regionaler Käse, Aioli & Brot.
Als Hauptspeise wählten wir Cataplana (16 EUR p. P.). Sie kam in einem großen, typischen Topf für zwei. Muscheln, Lachs, Gambas und vermutlich Barsch sowie Paprika & Zwiebeln in einer guten Tomatensauce. Dazu wurde Reis serviert.
Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant gerne.

Sorry,war immer einer unserer Lieblings lokale. Der Wirt Paolo supi. Im Oktober waren wir mit Freunden da ,unaufmerksamer schlechter Service. Essen nicht gut,Reklamation nahm man achselzuckend hin. Das Personal war eher mit sich als mit den Gästen beschäftigt. Als wir nach dem Cef fragten, kam ein lapidares "ist irgend wo." Wir wünschen so sehr,dass es wieder anders wird.

Bisher in ganz Portugal das schlechteste Restaurant in dem wir waren. Das Essen war mittelmäßig und essbar. Die Bedienung nicht unhöflich aber sehr reserviert. Am Ende bestellten wir einen Aquadente ohne vorher auf der Karte nach dem Preis zu gucken und bekamen prompt einen, der mit 7 Euro berechnet wurde! Sorry, ganz klar durchgefallen! Touristenklitsche, die mit mäßigem Essen auf Abzocke aus ist!

Excessivamente caro pelo que se come! Paguei 23€ por um bife da vazia bastante rijo. Pedi o bife médio e veio muito bem passado. Em contrapartida o pessoal é muito simpático e até ofereceram um licor no final. A aparecia e local é agradável.

Sehr netter Service. Alle super freundlich und sehr kompetent. Das Essen war der Hammer. Preise waren voll in Ordnung 16 € für ein grosses Steak und Kartoffeln und einer traumhaften Rotwein Sauce. Ein Fisch Spieß mit Kartoffeln und Gemüse für 16 €. Mega lecker und es gibt vorweg einen leckeren Teller mit Pasten und Brot. Mega leckeres einheimisches Restaurant mit tollen Ambiente.

Good service, extremely average food. The grilled octopus was as chewy as bubble gum. To the waiter's credit, he offered to exchange the dish, but my partner was too timid to accept and did not feel like waiting for another dish to prepared. Very nice waiters, though.

Attention tout de même à l'apéritif proposé à peine installé et écrit comme payant après avoir reçu la carte du menu.

El pueblo es un encanto. El restaurante es magnífico para comer. Comida casera muy bien cocinada y riquísima. Abundancia en los platos. La cataplana estaba sensacional! Y la carne a la piedra soberbia!... en realidad todo estaba muy bueno. El trato de los camareros es estupendo. Absolutamente recomendable!

Excelente lo recomiendo, calidad precio correcto, comida muy bien cocinada, casera , abundante y buena presentación. Hemos comido 4 personas y todo lo que hemos pedido estaba buenísimo, y como recomendación el dulce casero de la casa, un pastel de almendras e higos, exquisito.

Carne spettacolare servizio 10 e lode. Il locale è ben curato. Ha l'aria turistica ma in realtà sorprende con piatti davvero ben fatti, gustosi e di qualità. Nel bagno delle donne c'è il lavabo e anche il wc a misura di bambini, dettaglio che ho trovato super.

Friendly staff and great service. Food is excellent, rack of lamb went down a treat as did fish stew. Highly recommended.

Lækker portugisisk mad og store portioner. Vi var er selskab på 7 pers som fik forret, hovedret og dessert incl vin, vand og kaffe til en pris på gns kr 200,-/pers. Maden var lækkert tilberedt og kom samtidigt og var rygende varm. Stedet er imødekommende, afslappet og børnevenligt. Kan varmt anbefales.

Amazing food, friendly staff. Waiter got in "standoff" with customer, each saying "No, after you!" Lots of laugh and great atmosphere

Had a great lunch.We ordered the 2 x fish soup, 1 x sardine tapa, 1 x chorizo tapa and 2 x cappuccinos. We got free bread to go with the chorizo tapa.
Excellent service. Highly recommend. Total cost was 19.5 Euros

Ristorante molto valido... abbiamo pranzato con il pesce cotto in maniera eccellente.... ambiente molto pulito e curato . Non è economico, ma il rapporto qualità prezzo va bene! Ci tornerei

Comida, servicio y precio magníficos. Nos permitieron estar en la terraza con nuestra perra sin ningún problema, con un trato y cariño espectacular. Comida rica en sabor y cantidad. Seguro que volveremos!

Un excellent restaurant. Tout y est : l accueil le décor les plats portugais sont d' une très bonne qualité ainsi que les desserts( ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans les autres restaurants ) et le vin recommandé était extraordinaire.

El mejor sitio donde hemos cenado en carvoerio. El pescado muy fresco y muy bueno, platos generosos con guarnición. La carta en español q se agradece y si tienes alguna duda los camareros te lo explican muy bien. Muy atentos y simpáticos lo recomiendo . El precio bien, visto los precios de otros sitios.

Average for tourist meals. Nothing special. Service was good at beginning of the meal but after getting the bill they forgot about me. Watch out as they will present you with cheese with your bread. That will cost you an extra €3.50 on your bill.

Muy recomendable, muy buen trato, las camareras son muy simpáticas, el servicio es rápido y calidad precio esta muy bien. Sin duda repetiría!!! Se puede fumar en la terraza.

All it's missing is an ocean view. Great white wine sangria. Good steak, good octopus, good fish and chips, great swordfish.

rather disappointed. given that its rating was so high I expected the food to be better. service was incredibly slow and the food dry and tasteless. cannot recommend this place.

werkelijk fantastisch eten, prachtig geserveerd, echt goede prijsstelling en echt vriendelijk en attent personeel/ bediening, was 7 dagen in Carvoeira en heb 6 dagen hier gegeten en geluncht - dit is een echte aanrader !!! Zal hier zeker bij gelegenheid weer gaan eten ! Dank aan jullie allen !

We sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a very nice meal (fresh catch of the day - Sea Bass - and my wife had the tuna) - both portions were large and well priced - the dessert (choc mouse) was gorgeous.
