Dia de jogo de futebol (24/08/2019), dirigimo-nos a este estabelecimento "RIO STONE STEAK HOUSE" (uma vez que estamos hospedados no rio apartments), fomos chamados à atenção devido ao facto de se tratar de um restaurante e não podermos estar apenas a consumir bebidas. Estando o restaurante quase vazio, e havendo apenas uma mesa em que se encontravam cerca de 4/5 pessoas a beber cerveja e a ver o jogo e apenas duas mesas com pessoas a jantar, foi-nos pedido pelo presumível dono que escolhessemos o que queriamos jantar. Ao dizermos novamente que estavamos apenas a beber e que, como combinado com um dos empregados, nos iriamos embora caso o restaurante enchesse e precisassem da mesa, fomos surpreendidos por um comentário extremamente agradável "isto é um restaurante. Se isto fosse na vossa terra...". Como é óbvio não deixei sequer terminar a frase, tendo expressado que se tratava de uma extrema falta de respeito, pois se de um estrangeiro se tratasse não havia "nem ai, nem ui". Foi feito o pagamento do que consumimos e decidimos sair e procurar outro lugar, com pessoas que estejam mais qualificadas e preparadas para um negócio que envolve atendimento ao cliente. Felizmente encontramos dois restaurantes cheios tanto dentro como fora, que nos deram uma excelente qualidade de serviço. Dito isto, não recomendo este local, de maneira nenhuma. Caso seja alguém que está de férias e a gastar dinheiro para ter qualidade, muito menos. Deixo apenas uma recomendação para o dito "restaurante". Tendo um espaço claramente virado para o desporto na sala ao lado, inclusive camisolas de diversos clubes penduradas no tecto e com uma televisão desligada, deviam ponderar utilizá-lo nestes dias pois seria uma noite muito mais rentável.

Adoramos a experiência! ❤️ Atendimento 5*****!!!!! Refeições confeccionadas com bastante qualidade, desde o pão quentinho de entrada com manteiga e azeitonas, até os pratos que escolhemos para o nosso almoço: maminha grelhada com batata frita e arroz e panados de frango com batata frita e salada. Estava tudo ótimo e o menu a 10 euros inclui ainda bebida e café. Aconselhamos vivamente, a quem esteja ou passe por Vilamoura, a visitá-los. A não perder pois certamente irão ficar tão satisfeitos quanto nós.

Do not judge a restaurant by its cover. The staff, the service & the food are awesome. Best steak I've had for years. If you can, have it on the hot stone.

The Rio Restaurant Steak House within the Rio Apartments is one of the most welcoming and pleasant places to eat drink and be merry. You do not need to be staying at the hotel to come and enjoy the delicious freshly cooked food. It has a chilled atmosphere with friendly and kind family ownership. The food is outstanding - the best we experienced on our trip in Vilamoura. The stone cooked steak for just €19.85 is fantastic - consisting of a large fillet steak served on a hot stone for you to carve and cook the way you want. Served with several dips, some freshly cooked vegetables and a potato side. All the food we tasted was delicious and all very very reasonably priced. The homemade apple pie looked the best ever and the homemade chocolate mousse was heavenly - unlike anything I've tasted before. We will return to Vilamoura and we eat here again and again and again. UPDATE 3rd October. Still a fantastic place for either a quiet drink or terrific food. Try the homemade desserts - particularly the mousse, chocolate cake and apple pie and of course the stone cooked fillet steak.

Really can not understand anybody being unfair in reviewing this place. I have visited the last 3 years and yes the first time we thought the service was abrupt but then again you can not sing and dance to everyones attention when you work from 9-12 midnight everyday with only Monday off and there is the language barriers.....but I am not here to judge people.......the food is great try it if your in the area you wont be disappointed. The staff and friendly really.

It's clear by the lack of hospitality the Rio restaurant/bar is separate from the aparthotel, there is certainly no appreciation for your business to the apartment owner! Aside from the abrupt service the food for the most part is pretty average with the fillet on a hot stone being the exception!
