We were looking for lunch in Loule and came across Cris Snack Bar. It was small inside, but very clean and tidy. There were three of us and we all tried different things. One had the roasted chorizo. It was a whole sausage roasted then cut into slices with toothpicks to share and served with bread. Very tasty and much like linguica that we eat in the U.S. One had the Acorda de Bacalhau. It is a regional dish from outside Lisbon. It was a big sourdough round of bread hollowed out. The interior bread was mixed with bacalhau (salted cod) mixed with seasoning and loaded back into the bread round. It was delicious and quite unusual to us. I was the boring one who had a toste with ham and cheese. It is basically a grilled cheese and ham sandwich. It was on two very large slices of sourdough bread and was buttery and delicious. We really enjoyed our lunch and were surprised when the bill was only $23 euros. We also had 2 beers, a glass of wine, a Coke Zero and 2 coffees. The owners were very helpful and spoke English to help us along. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty economical meal.

Its so nice to eat REAL food. Cris service is a little slow because the food is really cooked on the spot, and one can taste the difference. Very nice people and very good traditional food. Bravi!!
