Zwar sehr teueres Greenfee, aber toller Platz. Der Marschall war zumindest an unserem Tag leider etwas undifferenziert oder zumindest mit dem falschen Bein aufgestanden. Greens sind eine Herausforderung!

Just went to Monte Rei to play golf, not to stay. Nice personal treatment from arrival at the club. The driving range was one of the best I've used and the course was very well maintained with lovely fairways. A nice mix of water and sand hazards. Wish I could have played more there.

Heute diesen Wahnsinns Platz gespielt. Geht nur mit Clubcars. 18 Löcher in eine Felslandschaft eingebaut sucht seines gleichen. Greenfee kostet ab 170 Euro bis 250 Euro. Etwas zu teuer. Aber man sollte ihn einmal gespielt haben. Der Wahnsinn. Wolfgang

Prachtige baan. Voordat we gingen golfen hebben we genoten van een heerlijke lunch. Prima bediening, attent en zeer vriendelijk. Ontvangst op de baan super. We waren met vieren en zijn om 15:36 uur gestart. Om 19:30 kwam de Marshal op een zeer botte wijze ons vertellen dat we veel te langzaam gingen en we op moesten schieten omdat alle andere spelers al lang binnen waren. We hadden na hole 3 een gigantische regenbui en hebben moeten schuilen, dit ook uitgelegd maar dat mocht niet baten. We werden afgeblaft als een stel honden. Uiteindelijk hebben we er 4,5 uur over gedaan. Een moeilijke baan die we voor de 1 ste keer speelden. De enige spelers die we die dag gezien hebben waren 2 jonge jongens die van rood speelden en die we na de regenbui voor hebben laten gaan. We hebben de marshall op zijn bejegening aangesproken maar hij was niet onder de indruk. Jammer want het gaf echt een domper op ons spel en de herinnering aan deze dag.

Großartiger Platz mit großartigem Service. Von der Ankunft bis zum Club Sandwich wirklich alles Perfekt. Eine nette Begrüßung an der Rezeption, dann wird einem das Bag zum Buggy gebracht während man eine kurze Einweisung der örtlichen Gegebenheiten bekommt. Persönlicher Begleitservice zur Range, die ebenfalls in einem herausragenden Zustand ist. Anschließend wird man zum Abschlag escortiert und mit Tee's, Obst, Birdybook und Wasser versorgt. Der Platz ist eine Liga für sich. Da kann auch kein Platz in Vilamour mithalten. An Loch 18 bekommt man ein kleines Souvenir mit eingraviertem Namen bevor jmd vom Personal die Schläger reinigt und zum Auto bringt. Das Club Sandwich an Loch 19, dem Grill, ist ebenfalls herausragend. Alles in Allem jeden € wert und eine klare Empfehlung!

Ein fantastischer Golfplatz. Die Anlage hat ein überragendes Design und eine traumhaft schöne Kulisse. Das Greenfee ist jeden Euro Wert. Das fahren mit dem Cart ist Pflicht, aber auch nötig. Die Wege zwischen den Spielbahnen sind weit.
Cart, Tee Geschenk, Bälle auf der Range und Schläger putzen sind im Greenfee inklusive.

All the staff and the service they provide is first class .
I have played Golf all over the World but for me this is the best course I have ever played.
Every hole is fantastic not one weak hole.
Don't look at the cost as it is more than worth it.
I will definitely be returning.

Golfcourse No. 1 in Portugal. We got a car service from the Monte Rei Golf Club. After arrival at the club, our equipment was stored on the golf carts. We got some time for restroom and could directly drive to the driving range. The driving range is the only topic that is just average, it is very sandy....the course itself is awesome. There are no really easy holes. Whether the way to the green is difficult or the green itself. Greenfee is about 170 Euro

No wonder it was voted the best golf course in Portugal. Excellent in all departments from the reception to departure, we were looked after in style. The golf is fantastic fairways and greens in great condition it is tough but fair, I am a mid handicap (18) and found it quite long and some of the fairways are slightly intimidating, but that is why we play .
A must if you are in this part of the world.

A fantastic experience from arrival to departure. We had the golf and tapas package. This was a proper 4 course lunch par excellance! Course was in great shape. Buggy bar came past 3 times with iced flannels to keep you cool and refreshed. Nice touch!

Visited the Grill Resturant today, it was mediocre at best. My partners amuse-bouche had a very noticeable hair in it. Upon realising he had not eaten it the waitress asked ‘what had happend’ he pointed out the hair to her, only to receive the response ‘oh ok’ & that was that, no apology or offer of fresh dish, she just took it away - appalling & not what you would expect from such a place. They then had the audacity to put it on our bill & try to charge us for it! Having eaten at plenty of other golf resorts/clubs in the Algarve both service and food are significantly better elsewhere. Certainly won’t be going back & would advise others to check their food thoroughly before eating.

Unbelievable experience warm and friendly greeting from staff from minute you drive in to the minute you leave. Course is superb makes the green fee worth every penny.Buggies with Gps practice range just enhance the whole experience and the surprise gift at the end of the round is pure class.

As a golfer of 40 yrs plus, I have been lucky enough to play some great tracks, this is in my top 3. Big Jack designed it and it is challenging with a sense of tightness to it too. Every hole has something special . The service is second to none. Practice area is sublime. It is expensive, but a one off will not be enough. Treat yourself. The villas on site are fabulous.

Ask most golfers that have played this course and they will tell you that this course is the best in Portugal. It is certainly a test for all handicaps and kept in fantastic condition. The price to play may put a lot of golfers off at €170 a round but this does include your buggy and if it's your first visit they present you with a name tag for your bag.

Sometimes you will hit jackpot … And if you choose to visit Monte Rei Golf on your golf trip to Portugal, you will … This is one of the most beautiful, challenging and fun golf courses, I have ever played. The silence is overwhelming, the same is the service of the staff. And never felt a golf round so short - we just wanted to play it all over again. We will undoubtedly come back …

Played here 3 weeks. This is an amazing course, the best presented course that I have played in Portugal and that includes Victoria in Vilamoura. Jack Nicklaus design. 2nd course being built presently and a Hotel to follow.
Not cheap, special occasion or with my group an annual visit. Book on line for best deal and play from 3pm.

Espectacular en todos los sentidos. El sitio es sencillamente delicioso. Su campo de golf de lo mejor que he visto nunca.
Y el restaurante, alta cocina creativa con los productos naturales del Algarve, y el menú degustación "Ocean Promenade" un desfile de sabores y texturas difucil de superar.
Y el personal, muy amable, atento y encantador.

By far the most breath taking golfcourse that I have ever played. From the moment you arrive at the clubhouse till the point that you drive back home. It was an epic journey. For me a handicapper 3, this golfcourse was tough but fair. I played the Tournament tees, I only recommend those tees if you average 290-310 yards off the tee.

Great course! Very challenging. Be prepared for the ever changing wind. Your ball can go for several yards on the right line. The staff is amazing! From check in to leaving the course, you are treated outstandingly!

Dentro do segmento premium para a pratica de Golfe em Portugal. No entanto a minha nota poderia ser melhor se os preços aplicados fossem mais adequados. Excelente campo, bem tratado, vestiários muito bem asseados, ritmo de jogo aceitável. Excelente serviço de catering. Apesar dos preços a visitar, pelo menos 1 vez.

A fantastic course. Excellent definition to the holes. Greens are quick and a pleasure to put on. Bunkers tees and fairways maintained to a very high standard. Club shop and practice facilities are top notch. It is well worth getting there early to use them. The staff are excellent. My advice -play the twilight option as it is costly. You need to use buggies. Arrive early. Food is qood, a couple of Euros more than average but, nice setting. Club house excellent. Free bag tag, ball marker and pitch marker is a nice touch. Shop expensive but sells high end products. One for the bucket list. !

Le plus beau golf du Portugal. Tout est TOP: accueil ,practice, parcours, après golf. J'y suis allé entre Noël et Nouvel An et le tarif etai t de 150 € avec golfette + GPS. Sinon le tarif de 220 € reste excessif même si un grand nombre de trous sont des trous Signature. J'y retourne en mars.

Sans conteste le plus beau parcours de l'Algarve avec les meilleures prestations
On sent que l'on veut être au top et mériter la place de numéro 1 des golfs portugais. C'est chose faite.Un voiturier s'occupe de tout; gare votre voiture, sort votre sac et l'installe sur la voiturette.Un cadeau de bienvenu vous est offert.Le practice est gratuit 1 heure avant le départ ( les balles mériteraient d'être des pro v1 mais tout à fait acceptables).Le buggy ( nécessaire mais compris dans le green fee )est équipé du GPS, on vous offre la boisson et un fruit . Le parcours qu'en à lui est tout simplement fantastique, quasi tous les trous sont des trous signature.Parcours difficile, je suis hcp 8.A faire et à refaire un grand nb de fois, seul le prix du green fee (justifié)vous en empêchera

Hallo Leute. Ich war wieder mal eine Woche da. Es war wieder super schön. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nur das Essen im Clubhaus lässt zu wünschen übrig.

Outstanding Jack Nicklaus designed course in some of the most challenging topography. Great service, as you'd expect from such a high class venue. Tee times every 15 minutes so there's always a feeling of space on the golf course. Several nice touches including named bag tags at the end of each round.

A gem of a golf course in Portugal!
A world-class golf course as difficult as it was picturesque, I would recommend a visit to Monte Rei. A friend and I were privileged to enjoy two rounds on the Jack Nicklaus signature course, and the tasting menu one evening. The 7 course meal was one of the best I've had. It may be similar to 2 Michelin Star standard, I'm not quite sure but it was superb. The villas are great and perfect for golfers or a family. We were spoilt throughout the trip by the staff who were both friendly and attentive. I look forward to going back soon.

I would say the club itself remarkable, very good Range, interesting course. But there is a big but! We played in February, when the administration prohibited the exit to fairways, we just went along the paths and so, when we of runs right to the fairway to played our balls, money has been stolen from our vallets, that was situated deep inside our bags. All together 270€, 100 euro from my partner, he is a pro, and 170 from my vallet. At the evening of the same day we got information, that another one player lost 800 euros on this course in same sitution. When we talk to manager, he started to apologize, but his assistant began to say that it was necessary to value left in the locker. Pretty much strange situation, security around zero. I never recommend any one to play this course

Het mag ietwat prijzig zijn (in januari 130 euro voor 18 holes), maar daarvoor krijg je een baan in absolute topconditie, een bevlogen en betrokken personeel, driving range met alles erop en eraan, en een (verplichte) buggy met course informatie. Een absolute aanrader.

It cost 170euro in winter and 220 euro in summer. best golf club in Portugal. but I don't think this course is the best. staffs are all welcoming and kind. café, driving range all facilities are amazing. But they must concentrate on maintaining their course better condition. bunker in the course is not good condition and grass in fairway needs more care and concern. However it's true that this club offer best services in Europe.
