I cannot rave about this place enough! The food, the people and the music! All around AMAZING VIBES! I saw a photo of it on trip advisor and dragged my friend around town just so we could walk by. We sat down for some water, coffee and a little shade. The owner came over and we started chatting about the Algarve region and his decision to move there from Paris to enjoy the year round sun. My phone was dying and he even ran home so he could share his phone charger with me. So we decided to take a peak at the menu while my phone charged. My friend ordered the cod with sweet potato and I ordered the tuna steak with black rice. We each took a bite of our meal and at the same time said “OH MY GOD”! We have eaten at some amazing places around the world but nothing compared the freshness and flavor we tasted here! I only wish we were in Tavira longer so we could eat there again!

Accueil excellent, ne parlant ni l'anglais et ni portugais , une serveuse compréhensive se met au diapason de vos demandes formulées en trois langues , génial. Le menu est au top des saveurs , le goût des aliments est respecté, bravo en cuisine. Le patron des lieux est un personne qui aime la cuisine et la faire partager . Nous avons choix ce restaurant pour fêter nos 43 ans de mariage. Merci à vous tous. ..

Booked for Tuesday 18th Sept arrived closed no explanation booked again for 20th Sept only to be told some meals not avalibe due to chef not in poor excuse if you ask me left with disappointment not even a apology from owner won't be returning

Great atmosphere, very welcoming and attentive host. Their signature cocktail "La Petite France" was amazing. Highly recommend a visit!

What an incredible find. Lovely styled restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. The food was superb, especially the potato wedges and chocolate cake. The chef even came out and said hello. Highly recommended.

Una terraza muy bonita y agradable.
La amabilidad del servicio es lo más destacable. Carnes bastante normalitas (supongo que por lo complicado que es encontrar buena carne en el Algarve) pero muy bien cocinadas.
Servicio un poco lento.
Precio normal/alto.

Llegamos con ilusión, la comida servida en otras mesas tenía buen aspecto, pero quisimos cenar y nos dijeron que no podíamos, asi que pedimos solo unas bebidas. Un minuto después una pareja se sentó al lado nuestra y a ellos le ofrecieron carta de bebidas y de comida. Aún no logro entender porqué a nosotros no y a ellos si...

Very nice late evening meal. Puddings were exceptionally good. House red wine very good value . Bookings recommended July and August.

Most tables were reserved but they managed to get us sat for an hour. I had the steak special and my partner had prawn and chorizo skewers, both excellent. Exceptional service from young Christian, you'll go far my friend! Might have liked to see a few more options on the menu, but definitely recommended!

Je recommande à 100% je suis venue avec de l’avance concernant ma réservation et oui j’ai eu un soucis avec mon véhicule je devais être là à 21h30 je suis venue à 20h20 !
Le responsable nous a quand même accueillis avec le sourire et nous à placer .
Plat de bonne qualité et surtout bon je recommande la brochette de bœuf au miel / ananas une dinguerie comme plat
Serveurs top avec un sourire remarquable
Je souhaite une longue vie au restaurant la petite France car franchement j’adore

Perfect post-beach al-fresco bistro with an eclectic and tasty, but simple menu and smily service. The menu is a mix of filling snacks, that are not quite main courses, and salads with a good range of wines and cocktails. Exactly what you need when a full 3-course dinner is too much. The super friendly (multilingual) staff makes this suitable for families with older kids, but most diners were 30+ couples enjoying the sophistication of the excellent french food and yummy deserts - the profiteroles are especially popular.

Acceuil agréable et souriant, à l'écoute de la clientèle. Tout est très bon, depuis la caipirinha, les rillettes de porc avec cornichons, les coquilles St Jacques aux épinards sont excellents et nous avons adoré la crème brûlée à la pistache.
Nous recommandons vivement et nous reviendrons assurément.

Un service impeccable, des plats créatifs, très gouteux, manifestement composés à partir de produit frais (même les œufs sont bio, ça change dans la restauration) je recommande ! Ne faites pas l'impasse sur les desserts, ceux qui n'en avaient pas pris m'ont pioché dans l’assiette!

super resto nous avons etez bien reçu .les poissons aux menu étaient excellents .le personnel au top . le patron est charmant et tres sympatique si vous passez a Tavira ou aux alentours fait un détour vous ne serez pas déçus

A recommander pour les personnes aimant découvrir de bonnes tables. L’endroit est authentique, chaleureux tout comme l’accueil. En ce qui concerne la carte, le choix est restreint, mais en général c’est un gage de qualité, de fraîcheur et ce l’était. C’est une cuisine créative, (mais heureusement réussie), avec beaucoup de goût. Exemple, Filets de bar, légumes confits et curry rouge. La cuisson, l’amalgame, l’assaisonnement, c’était parfait, . En dessert, la crème brûlée à la pistache vaut le détour. Quant aux vins au verre, le choix est intéressant et dans une très belle gamme, les conseils judicieux, personnalisés.

Really not worth your time or money - Staff - very good, food - average & overpriced I'm sorry to say whisky cost €14 per shot - OUTRAGEOUS - expected better in everything, wont be returning.

Estuve el año pasado con mi pareja y mañana vuelvo a ir a Tavira y mirandp restaurantes, he coincidido con este y quería contar mi experiencia, viendo el tipo de contestaciones que da el propietario a la gente que valora y opina de su restaurante.
Llegamos y preguntamos por mesa y nos sentaron e insistieron en tomar nota. Había un camarero que de trato bien, pero la camarera era una antipática. Con tanto darnos prisa pedimos un plato entrante y un principal que básicamente tenía los mismos ingredientes. Tardé un minuto en darme cuenta y entré dentro del restaurante para decir que por favor nos cambiase el plato principal, dijeron que ya no era posible. ¿Cómo no va a ser posible si no ha pasado ni un minuto y hay entrantes? Es la primera vez que me pasa algo por el estilo y encima me contestaron con cara de asco.
No hubiera escrito nada después de tanto tiempo, pero viendo la arrogancia del dueño, quizás se merece comentarios como este.

Enorme déception après une excellente expérience en 2018.
Nous sommes arrivés à 21 heures (ie l’heure exacte de notre réservation). Nous avons été servis après 22h40. Véridique !
Plus 1h40 d’attente avec une petite fille de 4 ans l’estomac vide n’est clairement pas acceptable. Vraiment une très mauvaise organisation.
C’est vraiment dommage d’autant que les serveurs sont agréables.
Le changement de propriétaire n’a vraiment pas été bénéfique.

So first things first. Overpriced. The steak you see costs 18 euro. The portions are too small and cost too much. The staff however very friendly. We were taken care of very well. The choice of music was also very nice, there was a sense of a "small France". My brothers enjoyed the cat that was asleep on the little tree by the entrance. The seating was poor. Uncomfortable chairs and very small tables that shook like mad. I would give 3.5 stars, but as my dad mentioned, to give a restaurant that charged 14 euro for a kids sized portion of chicken and fries 3.5 stars is beyond mad. If you have the money, go ahead, but my family likes to get good tasting food with good portions at a good price. Here, the taste is good but the rest is incredibly dissapointing.

Such a beautiful little hidden gem. Off the beaten track, we had such a lovely evening here. Staff were so lovely and welcoming, food was delicious and the wine menu is amazing!! What's not to love?!

Attended with a party of 4. All really looking forward to the evening. Off to a good start, a little different with a relaxed chilled out vibe and friendly welcome. But sadly that's about it I'm afraid. Very disappointed with the cheap, most extremely uncomfortable seats and very small rickety tables, most of us couldn't get our legs and feet under. A major challenge fitting the glasses, crockery, plates and servings Inthe table? Certainly not suitable to relax and enjoy your food and or drink, chill out and soak up the ambiance. The menu was different from the normal offering (good), but lacking a little in choice and variety. Seating was so rickety and uncomfortable, that alas we couldn't stay and hang around and so were forced to leave after the mains and moved on to have desert, another drink or two and our usual night cap elsewhere here we could get comfy and relaxed. Shame about the lack of investment in better seats. Shame. Guess it's Ok to just pop in for a quick drink before or after, or on route home.

Très bon accueil .La cuisine de Bruno est délicieuse.Il utilise des produits frais, bio et de saison ! Il associe des aliments et des goûts qui font notre bonheur gustatif dans notre assiette ! Chris nous accueil avec toute sa symphatique et son attention.Aussi bien pour prendre un verre où un repas. Ils sont vraiment accueillants sympathiques et très attentionnés à leur clientèle. Merci à Bruno et Chris .

Really good. Unpretentious. Very good service, efficient and delicious food. Run by two guys who have got it sorted. Not an extensive range of items served but they were delicious, fresh and very well presented. The two hosts have their roles perfectly sorted between back and front of house. Not perfect but 4.5 stars. Well done.

Amazing food, wine, service and atmosphere. The blue cheese quiche and chocolate mousse were particularly excellent! We visited on a Friday night, there was an artist singing and playing guitar which was beyond lovely. The staff were very friendly, this was the best meal we had in Tavira.

The most terrible place . Very disappointing. We waited over half an hour for 2 pieces of luke warm quiche which had a garnish of about 2 limp lettuce leaves. When I complained at the wait I wad told I was lying! it was only 15 mins and the waiter said that English people came to the 'Bistro" with high expectations ! Why wouldn't you? I think a course on customer service would not go amiss. The quiche also had a very soggy bottom, Mary Berry would not be impressed.

Lovely little place! Simple but very enjoyable menu, cheese and ham platters, Bruchette with mixed toppings (around €5) and deserts that are a must. We had the chocolate mousse and the chocolate cake, both fab and well presented (approx €3:50) We were lucky that we stumbled across this place on mojito night with a live singer who was excellent.

Bonito, bien montado, llama la atención enseguida, selección musical desigual, frescura en el servicio . . sobre todo cuando le das un poco de confianza . . aunque no destaca por su rapidez . . merece la pena esperar por la comida, sencillo pero muy bueno . . y los cócteles y las copas aunque no los probamos tienen una pinta inmejorable
