Superb Italian restaurant serving high quality, considered dishes using local ingredients. Good: if you are looking to dine out somewhere a cut above the generic, mass market Mediterranean offerings commonly found in tourist towns. Less good: if you prefer quantity over quality, endless pizza options and a super speedy meal. Prices are reasonable and offer excellent value but you will cheaper. We were a table of three for dinner at this discerning independent Italian on the Tavira river front. A small menu of dishes, we had the olives, vegetarian lasagne, ricotta and spinach ravioli, pesto gnocchi with some flavourful mixed salads. For desert the tiramisu was a showstopper, the best I have had. It had a unique twist to an otherwise well known sweet. Lots of organic and biodynamic wines and a food sourcing policy which involves buying from a local organic veg farm a mile outside Tavira. The only suggested improvement would be the attentiveness of the waiting staff. We had to flag down a waitress after waiting along time to place a desert order and similarly in order to pay the bill.

Recanto em Tavira junto à ria com comida típica e caseira italiana. As proprietárias, italianas de gema e muito simpáticas, acolheram-nos muito bem. A comida é deliciosa, tipicamente italiana e confeccionada a partir de ingredientes biológicos. Recomendo!

Lovely people and really really good Italian food with fresh herbs, organic wines and pure flavors. Fantastic quality for a good price. We went there 3 times this vacation and we really felt in love with the restaurant. The interieur is so nice and they have an amazing service (for example: they tells you more about the wine they serve and let you first taste it.) They also have a lot of lovely vegetarian optoins, which is unique in Portugal!
