It's the one of the best restaurant in Lisbon for me on our honeymoon!
At first, you should have some sardines with salt with beer! It's marverous! You can eat bones of sardines. It's good.
There are many local people! We have a lot of hun time!
My wife is satisfied with their food,drink,and service very much.
リスボンで一番美味しかった！入ったらまずイワシとビールを頼むといいと思います。骨までおつまみに食べて美味しい。何度も行ってしまいました。地元の人で混んでるかも。オススメも丁寧に教えてくれて、行きつけになりました。

Slice of bread for 2 eur... they charge you for everything and I did not fell a good treatment. It feels that they are starving for money so they set everything in order to get every euro from your pocket.

There are tables inside and outside to choose from. We were seated inside. The place was very welcoming and it felt like it was a local restaurant. Many tourists stopped by here, but the food was authentic. We had the tuna steak and the the monkfish dish. They were both very tasty and they were high quality typical Portuguese plates. The staff was efficient and kind. The waiters spoke English very well and the menus were in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, French and many more. It was a very positive experience for us.

Très bon restaurant !
On s'est régalés à un prix correct et le jeune serveur (qui parlait un peu français) a été très sympathique avec nous... Ne pas hésiter à s'arrêter là pour manger !

Prix plutôt abordable parcontre le poulet façon Lisbonne était beaucoup trop épicé. Le personnel était sympa mais poussait un peu trop à la consommation. Ce qui est peurrait être un peu agaçant en fin de soirée. Parle français portugais et anglais. Parcontre beaucoup trop long l'attente au paiement. Je vous conseille le Porto blanc sec.

A real Portuguese local “tasca” experience. It is located in the popular historical Bairo Alto neighborhood and receives a lot of tourists but maintains its quality. Its cod fish is one of the best in town. Its meat menu is also very good. The wine they offered from Douru region was very high quality. The ambiance is pleasant. The service is attentive and caring. Reservation especially for dinner is essential.

Um bom restaurante no bairro alto com comida ao estilo e preços gourmet, no entanto as horas das reservas não são bem respeitadas e apesar da grande simpatia dos empregados acredito que deviam fazê-lo melhor, todos falaram bem da comida mas eu achei o bacalhau á Brás um pouco oleoso demais.

Delicious food, by far the best we tried in Lisbon. The only very very bad thing is the horrible organisation and very bad manners from some members of the staff (guy in a white T-shirt on Friday night). Others have great manners and make it a wonderful experience. Also the poor organisation they have when managing the tables allocation for people waiting standing.

Muito bom! Em pleno Bairro Alto um óptimo restaurante, com grande variedade de comida portuguesa, de excelente qualidade.
Comemos uma carne de porco à alentejana e uns jaquinzinhos com arroz de tomate. Como entrada vários queijos portugueses e umas ameijoas à bulhão pato. Tudo 5 *****.
Está sempre aberto, não fecha entre o almoço e o jantar, o que permitiu almoçar às 16h30.

Comi o prato vegetariano da casa: peixinhos da horta com arroz de tomate. São vagens empanadas fritas com arroz no molho de tomate. Saboroso. Tomei uma taça de vinho, acompanhada de uma garrafa d'água. De sobremesa, fui de bolo de bolacha com cobertura de ovos e amêndoas. Achei fraco. Recomendo o atendimento e a ambiência do restaurante. Paguei 22 euros por tudo.

I'm Portuguese and in an area full of "tourist traps" you can find here amazing Portuguese food. Besides that the team is extraordinary. Went for dinner and left my bag there with iPad, wallet, etc. Morning after the restaurant was closed for 4 day Christmas vacation. Contacted them on Facebook and they went out of their way to help me and got someone to open the restaurant and give me my things back quickly. TOP!!!!! They really care

Pésimo, la comida normal pero el resto fatal, te tratan como turistas a los que timar todo lo que pueden, nada mas llegar te ponen unos entrantes sin pedir que te lo cobran a precio de oro. Las cañas de cerveza a 3,5 euros y a dos de las personas de los que íbamos le dieron por pedir una copa de vino blanco y nos la cobraron a 14 euros la copa.
Típico restaurante que acaba con el turismo, una vergüenza.

Las patatas llevaban cocidas varios días y solo las recalentaron. El Bacalao salado se podia comer pero el pan era del que sobró en la última cena, mas viejo imposible.
Añadir que el servicio también es muy lento. No merece la pena ese lugar.

The wait staff aren't particularly friendly though, scolding some customers for seating before they had a chance to clear the tables.

Ein gutes Lokal, die Lage - Tische in einer Gasse aufgeszellt - ist urig.
Gutes Essen nicht übermässig teuer.
Weine ein bisschen Teuer, 3 mal so teurer wie im Supermarkt.
Kellnern in Ordnung, präsent und schnell.
Auf Bestellungs-Verwechselung mit nachbar Tisch achten. Jedoch nicht negativ zu bewerten. Es gibt feine Gerichte wie Fischroggen (Ovos).
Bei der Bestellung ist immer ein Dilemma, Speisekarte in alle Sprache ausser die jänige die du verstehst, zeigst du Bilder aus der Internet, weisst du nicht genau, was du bekommst. Immer alles Ja, ja.
Das Problem ist aber, gibt nicht nur in Portugal....

dipende certo da cosa si sceglie, ma se un piatto è sul menù mi aspetto sia mangiabile e se surgelato sia passato dall'abbattitore pet mantenere il sapore...il coniglio che ho mangiato io stasera era pessimo, affogato in un fondo di cottura pre-confezionato...ad occhi chiusi avrei potuto scambiarlo per rana o dinosauro!

Au départ l accueil est un peu froid et efficace mais rapidement la qualité de la restauration fait son apparition : l apéritif est typiquement du terroir : les fromages et le pain sont excellents puis le plat du jour morue sur son lit d épinard et pomme de terre agrémenté d une sauce à l huile naturelle est digne des meilleures tables !

A perfect restaurant to have lunch, specially in its esplanade, during summer.
The cod fish cakes (pasteis de bacalhau) are one of a kind, as well the "pataniscas" (a local codfish dish).

가이드 추천으로 가서 해물밥이랑 대구요리 먹었는데 맛있었습니다. 많이 짜지도 않았고 한국인 맛에 무난하게 먹을수 있습니다.

Typisch Lissabon restaurant met een voudige inrichting en natuurlijk tegeltjes aan de wand en iets te felle verlichting. De mensen zijn er heel vriendelijk en de gerechten vriendelijk geprijsd. De keuken is traditioneel en van uitstekende kwaliteit. Kortom een echte aanrader als je niet in een te toeristisch restaurant wilt eten.

a joint that served great food and now serves tourist food only. before the restaurant galore exploded in the near streets, making the neighbourhood a busy attraction for turists, I had here very satifying peasant food, not great finesse but really true flavors.
the restaurant has been remodeled and decorated with caldas da rainha ceramics re-made on old models by bordalo pinheiro. very nice, while impossibly loud and with a really dreadful toilette.
who can resist a queijo do azeitao? even better than the celebrated queijo da estrela. the great white port wine, the smoked prosciutto as appetizers. but our party of three had very deceiving entrées: the octopus, once great, now unrecognizably dull. the sardines, on the contrary, were very good even if out of season, once you survive the local habit of serving them grilled whole. and with whole I mean that, to reach the deliscious white meat, you have to eviscerate them, not just skin them and behead them. since I know how to extract the two filets from a whole sardine, a rather tricky job, I had fun playing with my food. if you don't know how to handle a sardine, fuhggedaboudit...
anyway, with great sorrow, I scratched this restaurant from my fetish food list.

Traditionele keuken, erg goed bereid. Flinke porties en redelijk geprijsd. Zowel vis als vlees gerechten zagen er goed uit, en waren erg lekker. De bediening was vriendelijk, professioneel en goed op elkaar ingespeeld. Een plek om terug te komen omdat je nog wel meer van de kaart wil proberen.

Food was good, but overpriced. We got scammed in the dessert time, when the waiter brought us the dessert with a porto wine(without asking for it) and talking to us while pouring it. Then the bill was extra 18 euros! Be aware that they charge the appetizers on top of that.

Tolle Lokation , nettes Ambiente ! Draußen sitzt man wirklich sehr schön. Personal schnell und freundlich. Vorspeisen werden einfach serviert aber man wird darüber informiert das man nur zahlt wenn man davon isst. Finde ich trotzdem man sollte das kostenlos oder gar nicht machen. Der Fisch war sehr lecker und ist zu empfehlen. Der Wein war auch gut aber zu teuer. ( trotzdem bezahlbar ) das Essen hat gute und faire Preise.

Ens havien recomanat aquest lloc però no va complir les nostres expectatives. El servei bastant lent, no gaire amable i el menjar no massa bo. Potser no vam encertar els plats, vam demanar pop, que estava bo i volíem bacallà amb salsa de camarons però ens van dir que no hi havia bacallà però que el mateix plat el feien amb un altres peix similar i no ens va agradar, sabia a cremat.

Un restaurant qui surfe sur sa notoriété passée. Ancien restaurant dont la clientèle a été longtemps exclusivement lisboete, le Sinal Vermelho est devenu ces dernières années une place touristique.
Si vous cherchez du typique, passez votre chemin... vous n’y croiserez que des touristes!
La cuisine n’est ni mauvaise, ni exceptionnelle, mais les tarifs sont particulièrement élevés si on regarde sur l’ensemble des prix pratiqués au Portugal.
Évitez l’apéritif maison tarifé au prix d’un cocktail et dont la composition a de quoi faire hurler d’horreur tout portugais.

87 euros à 4 sans café ni dessert ni vin, donc très cher pour un restaurant portugais. L'erreur que nous avons fait a été de prendre le cocktail maison proposé par la serveuse en apéritif. Toutefois, le service est correct, les plats savoureux et l'ambiance générale sympa. Peut-être un restaurant victime de son succès, dans un quartier aujourd'hui envahi de touristes...

This place is a RIP OFF!! After arriving they brought us cheese and bread without ordering. Assuming it was the normal FREE stuff they bring, they charged us 15 Euros for only that. Apart from us not ordering it, it was waaay to much for what we got. After asking the waiter snapped at us “what you eat - you pay”. Just disappointing....

Tolles Ambiente, leckerer Weißwein und gutes Brot mit Käse als Appetizer. Auch die Teller wurden schön angerichtet, allerdings wurde teilweise etwas anderes serviert als bestellt wurde. Die Fischgerichte wurden nich entgrätet und waren sehr langweilig, der Lammstew war knorpelig aber lecker, dafür war es recht Preiswert ca.9 Eur für ein Hauptgericht. Es war jetzt nicht schlimm aber ich würde nicht nochmal hier Essen gehen.

Me lo recomendaron en el Hostel donde estuve alojado. Cerca de la plaza de Camoes. La comida tiene una buena presentación. Pero el plato de mi pareja (bacalao al estilo tradicional portugués) no estaba muy bueno, el mío si (buñuelos de bacalao, acompañados con arroz). El precio es estándar para un sitio turístico. Ponen queso y embutido al sentarte, pero por lo menos te avisan que lo van a cobrar si te lo comes. El servicio es muy amable y agradable!! En general, recomendable!!!

I have eaten there more than ten times but it has not stopped deteriorating.
Last time this month (december). The food was mediocre and the service bad.

Awesome place. They speak both Spanish and English but nonetheless the place is as genuine as you can get in the zone. Very good Portuguese food with fair pricing (not cheap, but fair). Fully recommended.

We visited for dinner.
Positives:
- the cheese and sausage we had as amuse-bouche were very tasty
- we sat outside, and the atmosphere was nice
- the waiter was friendly
Negatives:
- the main course was very disappointing. I ordered the mixed grill with fries. Instead of fries I got crisps, and the mixed grill consisted of a few very bony and stringy pieces.
- the price of the amuse-bouche is very high, and they are brought before the menu, by default, without having to order them (we could have refused, of course).
- it took forever to get the bill, and we ended up standing up and paying at the counter after 15 minutes of waiting. I wouldn't mind paying at the counter if it means no wait, but I was not told to do so when I asked for the bill.
Overall, I would not recommend.

Our waiter Bruno Duart was the best!!! He recommended the octopus entree which was nothing short of amazing. His wine recommendations were also superb! A definite must if you're in the Barrio Alto area!!

Typical Portuguese tasteful food! One of the most good and cheap places in Lisbon. We had starters, mains, desserts and drinks and paid around 27€ per person. The food is very good and represents the spirit of Portugal. A place to go and to enjoy. If you can, seat outside to get the Bairro Alto atmosphere.

Tourist trap. Average, overpriced food. Customers crammed into half of restaurant to make it seem busy. Waiters constantly knocking into you because not enough room between tables. Prices on bill more expensive than in menu, and when challenged waiter lied and said bill was for another table. Charged 6€ for bread and butter.

Excellent restaurant, étant une mordue de poulpe et de calamar nous avons mangé ici les meilleurs de tous Lisbonne (et pourtant j'en ai mangé tous les jours au moins une fois), les autres plats donnaient tous envie. Les serveurs parlent Français, le sejrvice est impecable, déco intérieur typique et les prix abordables et copieux (12-13€ le plat). Sur une semaine nous y sommes allés deux fois nous recommandons donc vivement.

Food was average. Service was okay. Only place in Lisbon we saw a queue, really disappointed with the food. My partner had the rabbit which was salted beyond comprehension. When we raised this the waiter replied that the chef said it was the combination of white wine and pepper? No idea. Either way average food, cramped tables and overall disappointing experience.

No puedo opinar de los platos porque una vez sentados nos levantamos y nos fuimos.
Entramos porque la terraza estaba llena y los platos tenían buena pinta, pero la atención fue muy deficiente.
Al entrar estaban los trabajadores cenando y parecía que les molestó nuestra presencia.
Atención muy descortés, queriendo ponernos en una mesa junto a otras parejas (separadas por apenas 5 cm) y con cara de pocos amigos.
Lo dicho, si la atención ya empieza a ser deficiente, no quiero ni saber cómo será el resto

De lo mejor calidad-precio en Lisboa.
Tardaron un poco en sentarnos pero también era día festivo. El servicio correcto. De primero pedimos un variado con pulpo, que no estaba mal, chorizo, morcilla y algo más que estaba bien y un rebozado de bacalao exquisito! De segundo el salmón con nata estaba delicioso, las huevas no tanto, un poco secas. La ensalada de tomate estaba también muy rica. Un poco pequeño en restaurante pero agradable.

Restaurante típico português, com comida regional, bons pratos de peixe e de carne. Ambiente animado, no meio da agitação do Bairro Alto. Tem uma pequena esplanada na rua, agradável para estar fora nos dias de calor. Recomendo o Polvo à Lagareiro ou a Carne de Porco à Alentejana. É um restaurante turístico, mas tem boa relação qualidade-preço-localização.

La mia esperienza non è collegata alla cucina che spero la prossima volta di provare, ma alla gentilezza di tutto lo staff e di questo li ringrazio, perchè durante una passeggiata nella zona, abbiamo avuto un emergenza di carattere.....fisiologico. Beh prima dell'orario di apertura e pur non acquistando nulla, ci hanno fatto utilizzare i servizi igienici, non capita spesso ...questa comprensione.
ANCORA GRAZIE......!!! Proveremo anche la cucina la prossima volta, e anzi invito chiunque a provarla!!!

Just had dinner there tonight, food was ok but they over charge on the drinks and add extra items to your bill! MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM YOUR BILL!! Very disappointed.. our bill went from $67 to $52 after we asked for explanation of charges. They do not offer you a drink menu and then overcharge for water and house wine.. never returning again!

Os pratos a não perder: Pataniscas de bacalhau , choco frito (bem melhor que alguns restaurantes em Setubal ), o salmão e , para quem gosta de carne , o "cordero de leche". Como sobremesa peça as farófias (leves e subtilmente doces :)

I went to Sinal Vermelho based on my hotel's recommendation. Certainly the best part of the experience was the wait staff. They were incredibly friendly and very attentive. They spoke superb English and couldn't have been more eager to assist.
I had the sardine appetizer which was really fantastic. My issue was with the main course which was too salty. I ordered a pork and clam dish hoping to have something truly typical of Portugal. It was so salty I really couldn't enjoy it. My waiter couldn't have been more apologetic and offered me free desert.
Be warned the tables outside are very, very close together. I for half my meal I sat next to an incredibly annoying couple. Good luck to the guy that was with that girl!
There are too many restaurants in Lisbon for me to go back. Not an awful experience but no need to go back.

Went for dinner, then stayed for hours. Great good, amazing music, huge wine selection and perfect ports. Our waiter was so much fun I can stiff hear his cute Liverpool accent. What a nice evening! If only I lived there, I'd go back all the time.
