Amazing experience. Incredible food, amazing drinks, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Was voted in the top 50 restaurants in the world in 2015 and it is clear why. A properly amazing experience.

This is a boutique resort on a prestine piece of land in the Algarve. My friends and I visited last August for dinner. This 2 Michelin star restaurant is a world class experience. We enjoyed the full chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. I was blown away by the complexity of the dishes and the flavours I experience. The entire dinning experience for 3.5 hours. We enjoyed watching the sunset. The staff were extraordinary, and watching the team perform was like observing a synchronized swim team execute a gold medal performance. The manage was very friendly and came over throughout the meal to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The actual hotel is stunning and beautiful decorated. I cannot get over how they manage to change the menu 365 days per year but they do. I will be back for sure!

Lugar con localización excepcional junto al borde del mar en la cima de un acantilado. Decoración, ambiente y servicio acorde. La cocina muy bien elaborada y servida, un tanto con exceso de frutas en algunos platos. Se añaden dos entrantes extras (steak de atún uno y ostra otro) y un prepostre y un segundo postre también extras, con lo que es imposible quedarse con hambre. Precio acorde (436 € para dos).

Wirklich eine kulinarische Erfahrung vom anderen (Doppel-)Stern! Wir hatten den "Chef's Table" in der Küche gebucht und konnten dem Treiben hinter den Kulissen zusehen und staunen. Absolute Empfehlung!!!
Wurden mit einer schier nicht enden wollenden Folge von Gängen verwöhnt und in ungeahnte Aromenwelten geschickt. Sehr einfallsreich alles und professionell bis zum letzten Moment!

Возможно арендовать зонт и шезлонг. Множество заливов между скалами. Будьте осторожны во время приливов и отливов! Рельеф дна каменистый! Имеются бары и рестораны с видом на океан.

Ambiente muito requintado e discreto. Um hotel muito acolhedor, calmo e com muita privacidade. O pequeno-almoço é divinal, tomado na varanda com vista para o jardim e para o mar. Também já tive oportunidade de degustar um jantar gourmet e superou muito as minhas expectativas!

Wij zijn hier een lang weekend samen geweest zonder onze kinderen. Een sprookje. Geweldige ligging. Als je wakker wordt hoor je de zee tegen de rotsen slaan. Ook het strand restaurant wat enkel in de zomer open geopend is, is een echte aanrader. Eten, personeel, de rust, de spa, alles een dikke 10!

We stopped at the beach restaurant. Could only sit outside for coffees. Waiter took our order and I know my Portuguese is not great but a meia de leite is not a bica! Oh and two coffees came to 8 euro, which is exactly what we paid for lunch in a nearby town.

On peut faire 340 a deux avec le menu 125 plus cafes. 4 verre de vin....rien a dire
Tout est excellent.

Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, was ich jedem ans Herz legen möchte, der gehobene, kreative Küche schätzt.
Wir hatten ein fantastisches 6 Gang Menü mit unzähligen Aufmerksamkeiten der Küche, die eine unendliche Kreativität des Küchenchefs spiegelten.
Die portugiesische Weinbegleitung harmonierte vorzüglich mit den vielen Geschmäckern der jeweiligen Gänge.
Sehr aufmerksames Personal und eine wohlige Atmosphäre rundeten den Abend ab.

Food was great, also wasnt too overpriced. The service was a bit stiff, as they kept changing the napkins every time i left the table. The waiters were constantly apologizing about everything. And kept repeating the phrase: “welcome to the paradise” more than 4 times.

Fantastisch restaurant. Voortreffelijke keuken. De bordjes zijn net schilderijtjes! Spijtig wel dat de wijn per glas zo duur was, misschien beter een fles nemen. Reservatie is wel een beetje ingewikkeld. Het uitzicht is prachtig.

Je remercie le Chef Dieter Koschina et toute son équipe pour l’incroyable, époustouflante et merveilleuse expérience culinaire qu’ils me font vivre à chaque fois.
Mon conjoint et moi-même ne pouvons plus visiter l’Algarve sans passer par Vila Joya.

Sehr persönliches, kleines Luxus Hotel. Freundliches Personal, immer hilfsbereit, super Aussicht mit Palmen, einmalige Sonnenuntergänge, Essen wie erwartet überragend, tolle, grosszügige Grün-anlagen um den Pool. Einzige kleine Kritik:EUR 27.50 für einen Aperol-Spritz am Pool scheint mit doch etwas gar teuer zu sein!

Absolutely stunning food, as you would expect from 2 Michelin Stars and a place previously ranked in the top 50 restaurants in the world! I had the 4 course daily menu (a different menu every day for 28 years!), but that doesn't count the 8 (eight!) extra little "surprises" before the starter, or the other 2 either side of dessert! All wonderful, but standouts included the langoustine with avocado and ginger dressing, and the bonus ceviche dish. I hope I get the chance to com back again one day

Deveria ter como avaliar separado o Hotel e o restaurante, não consegui vou fazer aqui mesmo :
O restaurante: comida muito gostosa , lugar lindo mas o preço absurdo não é justificado pela comida , bem convencional. O ligar ostenta duas estrelas Michelin a 20 anos mas aparentemente as coisas foram melhor antes, nossa refeição foi bastante convencional outra coisa que sempre diferencia um restaurante duas estrelas , o timing foi muito ruim , tivemos que esperar muito entre cada prato. Cuidado também com as sugestões, como não queríamos beber muito nos sugeriram pegar duas taças apenas da harmonizacao , uma delas nos foi cobrada pelo fundo da taça (por que ele não colocou nem meio dedo na taça) 37 euros !!!!
O Hotel, infelizmente fomos bem mal recebidos por uma moça que nos fez parecer estar invadindo o local. O restante da viagem foi bem melhor. O quarto é lindo , apesar dos produtos todos nenhum ser português e sabonetes cheiro coisa antiga , a vista linda o jardim impecável, se a avaliação fosse do hotel seria quatro talvez até cinco estrelas se ignorássemos a moça que nos recebeu. A localização é um capítulo à parte, em frente à duas praias lindas que com a maré cheia ficam vazias (parecendo exclusiva ) pena que o hotel ainda viva um luxo antiquado e ultrapassado , talvez por isso a idade dos hóspedes seja tão alta . Sugerimos também que tratem com a mesma simpatia, os hóspedes que falam português, que usam com os alemães

We were lucky to get the last room at the end of the season. The place was understandably popular even that the weather was already more on a cooler side: the water wasn’t that warm and a sun wasn’t that hot, but the grounds are picturesque and calming in the same time, and you just realized that you don’t need anything else. They are known for the Michelin star restaurant, but I fell in love with their unpretentious beach restaurant, that was impressive in all means. Its a perfect mix of lightness and precision. The level of sophistication and imagination is unparalleled in their desserts. The slippers on the photo disappeared so quickly, and we didn’t even order it, because we were completely full, but we couldn’t resist the offer.
The beach is long and fun to walk on. There is not much outside of the place, but honestly I found it actually beneficial, no temptation to ruin your solitude.

He tenido la suerte de cenar en su restaurante. Un menú a la altura de los paladares más exigentes, pero no apto para todos los bolsillos. Un entorno de primera. El servicio excelente. Recomendable reservar con un par de meses de antelación, sobretodo en temporada alta. Merece la pena disfrutar de sus 2 estrellas Michelin.

Giving 5* for their 2*. We where very happy to enjoy Lunch menu at this exclusive place. From moment we arrived everything was managed as you expect. Welcome, seating, menu introduction, cooperation of staff. I appreciate the idea of giving young staff opportunity to experience and learn during lunch serving. We had amazing view and where ready for the ride through spices, textures, first class produce, creativity and professionalism with passion. I wish we would be able to peak into kitchen to see this full orchestra which created such a symphony and let the food to get all the senses. Ok, there was not smoking dishes or sugar balloons flying above our table. It was honest beautiful food. Even for the experienced diner this was a great experience. Thank you for your honest work and passion for it.

Cocina fresca, herbal con toques cítricos y exóticos que conjugan con el marco incomparable del Atlantico. Eso si, hay un toque de fondo que recuerda la procedencia del chef.
Además de los 6 platos ofertados en el menú, el chef te sorprende con una serie de platillos.
Servicio top, ambiente relajado y romántico. En definitiva, tienes que probarlo!!!

Beautiful restaurant,unfortunately the bland food,bad service with attitude and empty glasses didn’t do it for me. I couldn’t relax as it’s far to busy, Certainly didn’t feel like a Michelin star restaurant, I couldn’t wait to leave to be honest. I’ve eaten in Michelin star restaurants all over the world this has been the worst experience I’ve had.The waiters kept saying I can see you enjoyed that which made matters worse,I would eat anything didn’t mean I it enjoyed,I paid my bill and left without saying anything as I was getting angry at them.

Vraiment magnifique. Une note négative néanmoins. Nous avions pris le menu à 125 euros. Comme souvent dans ces cas là on aime découvrir les vins que le sommelier propose pour accompagner les plats, en confiance. Aucune mention du prix sur le menu. Lors de l'addition la surprise était au rendez-vous : 90 euros pp. Quand on connaît les prix des délicieux vins portugais sélectionnés, ce n'est pas sérieux.

The position of the restaurant terrace overlooking the sea is delightful; we saw some wonderful sunsets. The breakfasts were very good, the evening degustation meals were amazing. With the bars by the pool and on the beach there is a good choice of lighter meals as well. The staff were most friendly and welcoming.

There's no doubt Vila Joya is a truly great restaurant. It's certainly an expensive meal, but one that most would say is well worth it. Here are a few aspects to consider:
Food: In total we were served 15 courses. The first 4 were all unique and interesting 'pre-appetizers' of all types. Followed by 6-7 courses on the main menu - including 3 fish and 1 beef main. Each was unique and certainly at minimum very good. Some great. Then 4-5 dessert courses to cap off a great night of eating. The courses change nightly - it's safe to say each will be an amazing food experience
Staff: Incredibly nice - considerate and not overbearing. We must have chatted with 5-6 servers and all had a story and seemed to form a Vila Joya family of sorts.
Atmosphere: Vila Joya is located in a 22 room boutique hotel which just won the best of Europe for 2015. The restaurant is at the back of the main building, which used to be a mansion that overlooks the ocean and throughout the night you hear the waves crashing. Most tables are small and are for couples - making the atmosphere quiet and romantic.
Price: Even though the set menu food price is EUR 175/person, plenty of reasonably priced wines are offered, so you won't have to pay that much more for drinks. They have a huge wine cellar, so I'm guessing you could spend as much as you wanted...

It came with great fanfare and it surpassed our expectations. It has a great location, beautiful and manicured gardens, but what puts it above most is their personnel, who is serviceable without being intrusive, caring and lovely. The restaurant is food for the ages, the views are eternal.Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!

It was great to stay there. We have been upgraded and suite was just perfect. Thanks to hotel staff and management. Recomended for those who just want to relax away from everything.Beautiful environment, private beach and sunset. We enjoyed spacious suite, large bathtub with ocean view and great terace. Thanks. Hope to go back soon.

nous avons teste le restaurant étoilé (2) : superbe, original et tout juste traditionnel pour être innovant. repas de dégustation a 175€ / personne. A refaire mais pas tous les jours :)

Pluses: Gorgeous facilities (pool, beach, resto, gardens), large rooms, helpful staff, great neighborhood, perfect beach proximity, and of course the restaurant is wonderful. Negatives: We were in room one. The shower/ bathtub is configured strangely so shower was a little uncomfortable to use. Bathroom could use some upgrading generally. Bedroom way too dim. There was just not enough light for a room of that size and the room doesnt get much natural light due to the heavy latticework on the doors. Common areas also very dim. These are minor issues though. On the whole a pleasant place.

Villa Joya is by far, the most beautiful and special place I have ever stayed.The staff is incredible - kind, down to earth, extremely skilled and simply lovely. They made our stay all the more special and because of them, I will never forget our experience there.

Amazing meal, have to say I thought the restaurant looked a bit dated and tired. But the food is exquisite and unique.
