Excellent food with super service and and incredible view. We had a great evening and will come back. The owners are still involved and you can feel it.

Sehr große Auswahl an Gerichten (nicht immer positiv), sehr großer Preisunterschied zwischen Snacks und Hauptgerichten. Dennoch keine angemessenen Preise. Das Fisch-Cataplana bestand ausschließlich aus 4 Stücken Fisch (nicht die besten Stücke mit viel Gräten), Zwiebeln und Paprika und insgesamt hat alles nur nach Weißwein geschmeckt. Für 30 Euro eine absolute Katastrophe. Da hier kein Restaurant in der Nähe ist haben wir am nächsten Tag einen Cheeseburger für 4 Euro bestellt. Der Salat war nicht gewaschen (hatte vier Tiere am Salatblatt) und die Pommes (alte tiefgefrorene Kartoffelstreifen) waren pappig und haben nur nach Fett und Salz geschmeckt. Die Kellner, wahrscheinlich Besitzer, schienen ein wenig verwirrt und haben teilweise lange gebraucht um Bestellungen aufzunehmen oder die Rechnung zu bringen. Das einzig Positive war der Blick von der Terrasse.

Très déçu. Ne pas prendre de sandwich si vous avez faim. A peine l'équivalent du boule de pain avec plus de salade que de pain.

We had dinner here at the end of January, so off-season, therefore it wasn't busy at all.
We had the seabass (€15), vegetable soup (€4) and the strawberry cheesecake (€4) and everything tasted really good and well worth their prices! I would definitely go back.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had! Tried the shellfish cream soup and the sea bream and prawns. The fish was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and seasoned well . It came with 2 king-sized prawns which were fresh and delicious. Great service by the owner. Beautiful view from the outdoor area. Would visit again if I had more time.

Yum yum yum! Cute place with friendly staff. Also most importantly, the owner introduced us to piri piri and now we are obsessed! The garlic prawns and the dinner prawns are both delicious. I have never been so full from shrimp in my life!

Zeer arrogante verkoper. Weet niets van de lokale keuken. Gedreven op omzet. Lelijk terras. Chocolademouse is er vooral beton. Zakkenvuller eerste klas. Heb gehoord dat zij zwart werkt. Op het kassabonnetje staat “proforma nota”. Het wordt tijd dat deze firma gestopt wordt door de Belastingdienst.

Waardeloze tent. Eigenaar is een arrogante zak. Vind zichzelf geweldig. Eten is verbrand. Medewerkers lomp en niet servicegericht. Er zijn genoeg lekkere restaurants in de buurt, google even. Mijn avond is om zeep door dit kansloze restaurant!

Staff need a little training in hospitality. When we asked for the food to be heated we were told it was cold because we went to the toilet. Regardless of why the food was cold (the food was the table less than 2 mins) you don't tell the customer they are at fault.

De momento llevamos 1h esperando.
Hemos venido por las reseñas positivas, pero... solo hay dos camareros para 13 mesas con una media de cuatro comensales.
No sé cuánta gente habrá en cocina.
Ahora mismo una mesa de 6 se van porque deben llevar más de la hora. Ya estaban a nuestra llegada.
Espero que la "espera" merezca la pena.
Luego os cuento.

Muy pero que muy bien. Calidad precio genial, pescado fresco y muy bien cocinado.
Los postres riquisimos y el personal muy amable en todo momento.
Sin duda, despues de una semana en la zona, es de los mejores lugares en los que hemos comido. Volveria a repetir sin dudarlo.

Wir waren an einem Wochentag ca 14 Uhr dort zum Essen.
Das Essen ist okay wir hatten Fischgerichte.
Der Chef ist sehr freundlich und spricht mehrere Sprachen auch eine Speisekarte in Deutsch das fanden wir gut. Das ganze Restaurant macht einen ordentlichen Eindruck

We've entered the restaurant, passed the waiter and sat on the terrace. The terrace has a nice view. We enjoyed it a lot, because we sat there for 30 minutes and nobody came to ask us about anything. So we left.

Sehr gutes Essen, sensationelle Erdbeersangria. Ausgezeichneter Service durch den Chef persönlich. Sonnenterrasse mit tollem Meerblick. Sehr empfehlenswert
August 2019: in der Zwischenzeit wurden die Portionen der Speisen noch etwas kleiner wie kontinuierlich seit 2014, solange gehen wir da schon hin. Die Erdbeer Sangria für die wir hauptsächlich mit der ganzen Familie seit 2014 dort 25 km einfach hinfahren ist in dieser Zeit um sage und schreibe 50 % teurer geworden. Ich habe den Inhaber Eduardo heute daraufhin angesprochen. Die Reaktion ist wenn man bedenkt wie bekannt wir ihm sind und wieviel Geld wir da gelassen haben nur als völlig unprofessionell zu bezeichnen. Heute den 12.8. 2019 war unser letzter Besuch dort. Ob er es sich leisten kann solche guten Gäste zu verlieren bezweifle ich. Im Hauptmonat AUGUST war das Restaurant fast leer. Dafür gibt es wohl Gründe.
Die 2 Sterne nach früher 5 betreffen die ausgezeichnete Lage mit tollem Meerblick und den aufmerksamen Service.

Bestes Restaurant in der Umgebung mit schöner Aussicht und sehr gutem Essen zu einem fairen Preis. Der Chef bewirtet selbst und der Service ist hervorragend und authentisch! Das Filet „Portuguese Style“, die Seezuge und auch die landestypische Cataplana sind wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kamen direkt zwei mal her!

The worse service and food you can ever have at a restaurant. A group of us went there for lunch and although there was only one other table with customers, it took them 45mins to make burgers. When the burgers were served, 3 of them were burnt, tried to hide it by putting salad on top of it and the owner try to argue that “it was okay in the middle of the burger”. Everyone finished eating and my friend was waiting over an hour for a cheese toasted sandwich. When it arrived, it was not even toasted and cold. The owner started shouting at us by arguing that toasted sandwich takes a long time to make than burgers because of the machine. Instead of just apologising he was rude and shouting in front of other customers. When we refused to pay for the burnt burgers which we could not eat, he threatened us to call the police for a €4 burger.
Very rude and arrogant. As a manager he should know better! Very disappointing.

Service extrêmement lent et désorganisé, une partie des plats manquants et entrée servie en même temps que le plat consistant. Le cabillaud qui nous a été servi était un autre poisson de très mauvaise qualité au goût insipide (poisson congelé ?) de Aucune à crudités servies avec les plats. A part la terrasse agréable avec vue sur mer, ce restaurant est à éviter.

Quality food, chilled out setting. All 6 in the family cleared 3 courses on both occasions. Have just booked a table for a group of ageing 'just turned 40' blokes on a weekend away ..... beautiful spot to talk about bird tables.

4 étoiles pour la sympathie et l'attention de Eduardo. Nous avons la cataplana mais nous avons mal choisi le type. Celle de poisson n'est pas à la hauteur de ce que nous attendions. Mauvais choix du plat. Sinon la sangria de fruits rouges au mousseux est très bonne mais beaucoup trop chère par rapport aux produits utilisés. Nous y avons passé un agréable moment toutefois devant une très belle vue. Joli cadre. A essayer

When more than one table arrived on a Saturday evening, the staff couldn't cope and, after waiting 45 mins for dessert, they just handed us the bill and we had to go elsewhere to feed the kids ice cream!

Espaço muito agradável! O polvo à lagareiro é bom a acompanhar com uma Estrella. Os preços dos são um pouco elevados tendo em conta a quantidade, mas têm tostas e hamburgueres acessíveis.

Enttäuschung pur.
1x Grillplatte mit Pommes Frites (1/2 gebratene Bockwurst, 1 Kammscheibe, 1 Stück Huhn) - sorry aber das kann man schon nicht mehr als Essen bezeichnen. Selbst die Pommes haben geschmeckt, als wären sie mehrere Runden in der Friteuse "mitgefahren". Keine Salatbeilage, keine Soße. Einfach lieb- und geschmacklos.

Hier gibt es die schmackhafteste Dorade an der Algarve. Die Aussicht auf das Meer ist einzigartig. Zeit diese zu genießen gibt es reichlich, hier wird man nicht gehetzt. Wir sind schon seit einigen Jahren Wiederholungstäter.

Loved this restaurant we came here three times in a row on our holiday as we only found it towards the end of the week. The food was lovely and authentic, simple yet tasty. No need for any table sauces as they have been well marinated.
Owner a very friendly man, and wife cooks the best food As he always said and as we totally agreed! They said they are short of staff but the service is most welcoming and attentive, well worth waiting for.
Highly recommend, prawns starters were amazing, halibut fish main was very tasty and perfectly grilled. Sardines very good portions value for money, as recommended by Rick Stein a must have fish in Portugal. Would love to try more dishes as the menu has so much choice.
Wish we could go back for more back now we're in the UK! Hope to visit again in future.
It caters for families, kids, couples, any age and a great atmosphere. Not pretentious or fancy, just brilliant local food and a taste of real Portugal.

Very nice host! Food is delicious. Good sole, sea bass and tuna. Very nice rice with seafood. Also very good octopus, but the portion was too small, the cod (bakeljauw) was also good but small in size. The location is beautiful and the free 'port' after desert completed our evening! Many many +++ and a few things that could be better... Nobody's perfect, but these people are getting close!

Good eats, near the beach...Sao Rafael. Parking just below. This restaurant has good views of the sea and serves decent sandwiches. The restaurant has tables out on the patio and also inside. Nothing fancy, not nasty.

Wer hier essen geht, sollte vor allem genügend Zeit mitnehmen. Gerade in den Hauptzeiten ist der Service doch deutlich überlastet. Belohnt wird man dafür mit einem hervorragendem Essen, guten Essensangebot und sehr freundlichen Service. Wir waren in unserem Urlaub drei mal hier essen und wurden nie enttäuscht. Wir würden auch jederzeit das Restaurant wiederbesuchen und weiterbefehlen.

Very nice view, good service, too big menu and ok food. Octopus was tasty but served only with 3 boiled potatoes. The sea food rice was more like soup than rice. Main dishes are around 15euro.

First visit 26 july, update 30th below.
1st time:
Great location, good food and friendly host. A perfect way to end another nice day in the area with family, friends or as a couple for a romantic dinner. Very international mix of people. Obrigado!
Update 30 July: We made reservations for today and and also wanted to spend our last evening here tomorrow but today it was not as expected. Mushrooms seemed from a can and partner had cold chips, but that can happen ofcourse.. But then we were asked 2x by the staf if we wanted desert but never got a menu untill we got it self, 25 minutes after the first one asked. 15 minutes later still noone came to, or even near our table to take the order. Other tables were served but we were less important for them it seemed so we did leave. Host /owner? apologised 100x and tried to fix it but we already were too much out of the mood. Host really seemed to care since we still heard him scream at the staf about when we were already at the parking. With more and better trained staff this really could be a perfect location.
I believe the host and people try hard and all can have a bad day, those are good learning points!

A Pefect Evening. Great food, great service! Especially Eduardo. Has fresh food and with the perfect balance of having everything in English but not feeling at all touristy. Also was very kind to help me practise my Portuguese. Thank you very much Eduardo:)

Lage und Blick auf das Meer sind sehr schön. Die angebotenen Speisen sind lecker und preiswert. Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und können das Praia Grande weiterempfehlen.

Really friendly and the food was excellent, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lots of space to eat either inside or out on the terrace to get a bit of sun. Highly recommended to all
