Excellent place, location couldn't be more central, I arrived on Easter Sunday with no booking and Alex went out of his way to come down to the hostel. He was also extremely helpful with advice. Decent sized and comfy bed in the private room. The kitchen was a bit of a mess due to the other guests, I'm not sure if there's much the host can do about that, though...

I had a good stay. The place is an apartment, somewhat different to what I am used to, but was clean and bright and well located. Sometimes there is some noise due to the bar 4 levels below, but this was marginal for me

Auf unserem Weg auf dem Jakobsweg haben wir hier Halt gemacht. Das Hostel war sehr sauber, der Besitzer unglaublich freundlich und fürsorglich. Für das Frühstück hat er sogar frische Brötchen und frisches Obst geholt gehabt, die wir bei unserer Abreise um halb 6 Morgens machen und mitnehmen konnten. Wir haben vom 16.08.19 auf den 17.08.19 dort übernachtet und hatten dadurch das Glück, das Fest "Nossa Senhora da Agonia" miterleben zu dürfen. Vom Hostel aus konnten wir wunderbar die Parade beobachten und der Besitzer hat uns über die Hintergründe, Bräuche und Kultur aufgeklärt. Somit absolut zufrieden. -------------------------------------------------------- We stopped here on our way on the Caminho Portugues . The hostel was very clean, the owner very friendly and caretaking. For breakfast he had even brought fresh bread and fresh fruit, which we could take at our departure at half past six in the morning. We have stayed from 16.08.19 to 17.08.19 and were fortunate to have seen the fest of "Nossa Senhora da Agonia". From the hostel we could watch the parade wonderfully and the owner informed us about the background, customs and culture. So absolutely satisfied.

Gostei do local e da simpatia de facto quem realmente queira dormir e descansar não eh o melhor e pelo preço não compensa sequer de resto ta bom

Lovely Hostel, very kind service. I asked for vegan breakfast and they bought some vegan food extra for me. They really make you feel comfortable and take care. I can leave my luggage here after checkout to explore the city. The hostel can’t be more central. It’s directly in front of the lake Lima. Train station is at the end of the street. I fully recommend the Avenida Central Hostel :)

Excellent location and nice clean apartment, close to the train station and everything else. Many shops and eateries within walking distance. Huge thanks to Alex, the owner, for his welcoming and sympathy! I'd like to get back here one day to explore the area of Viana do Castelo better.
