Christopher Streets: I cannot thank Rafael and his team enough for receiving my boat, checking her over and then launching her. They also ensured that everything was set up at the local marina berth for her too. I first class outfit who I recommend highly. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

Freek!: Here, or in Lagos, is where you can get a fishing permit. Are you 15 or younger, you don't need a permit, but an adult with a license needs to accompany you. 16 or over: you need one yourself. Bring a passport or ID card. Here you only get a coastal permit: salt water only. 3 options: 1: for fishing from shore with a rod 2: for fishing from a boat, with a rod 3: for fishing in water with a harpoon For 'inland or sweet water permits': don't go here, not available. Permits from a Bank-ATM: Yes, possible for foreigners, but you need a portugese 'friend' and his bank card. Go to a ATM marked "Multibanco Mashine". All main banks are MB units. Not the 'loose' atm units at the tourist locations. Insert his bank card. Select 'other services' (portugese equivalent, he will know) Follow the steps to the permit. When ID is required, fill in YOUR details. You will see that the ID number does not match. Portugese have 8 numbers. Uk 9. Dutch numbers and letters. What to do: - fill in de numbers only, forget letters - forget numbers after the 8th - continue the process When you have your permit, pay your friend the fee. €4,- for whole portugal for 1 month. €8,- for 13 months. When fishing, have the permit and the ID with you. Whole of Portugal? Well no. That would be to easy. Local authorities can forbid fishing on areas like boulevards, marinas, etc.
