Delicious food at a bargain price. Very affordable restaurant where you can order freshly prepared steak that comes sizzling on a very hot stone. You can cut the steak into pieces and finish grilling it on a stone to the tenderness you prefer. Good amount of seating inside as well as inside. It's a family restaurant and all produce is fresh from their own garden next door. They don't take cards and the bill is written down on a table cloth so you don't get a receipt. Red House wine is amazing and only costs £5 per litre. Beer is also cheap.

Kennen wir nun schon seit 25 Jahren. Essen i.o. Gäste sind praktisch nur Touristen (Deutsche, Engländer). Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Top Restaurant in der Umgebung von Quelfies...sehr nette Besitzer, tolles Essen für moderate Preise. Essen wird frisch auf dem Grill zubereitet, toller Gartenbereich! Sehr zu empfehlen.

A true slice of Portugal. Stunning simple true Portuguese food. You have to try the daily special, if the local farmers have left any for the rest of us!!. Been coming here for a few years now and will always go back. Maria and Louis, when he's there, always welcome you with open arms. Steak on stone perfect, atum de cebolada fantastic and bife do carmo stunning. Never understood what the biological vegetables were though ???? You have to try this place. You wont be disappointed

I didn't know this place had another name, we just knew it as Maria's.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and we all adored Maria.
We tried walking there the first time, a hot and dusty trek, only to find the restaurant closed. Maria herself saw us and actually offered (in Portuguese) to get someone to drive us back to our villa!

Das familiengeführte Restaurant funktioniert tadellos. Die Tochter ist ein Wirbelwind und kümmert sich hingebungsvoll um alle Gäste. Die Mutter steht überwiegend hinter dem Tresen. Die Küche zaubert leckere Gerichte. Das Steak auf heißem Stein ist ein Muss für Fans. Wir waren nach über 20 Jahren wieder mal hier und sind immer noch begeistert. Alle sind superfreundlich, das Ambiente ist stilecht - der Aufenthalt macht einfach nur Spaß.

Relación calidad/precio excelente! La comida exquisita y el trato super cercano, la dueña se sienta en la mesa contigo a hacerte la cuenta en el mantel :). Sin duda repetiremos!

Food was fantastic the owners were great as we arrived at 3pm and the kitchen was closed for lunch (something we didnt check prior) however the chef said he would serve us anyway which in my opinion is amazing as i guarantee it would never have been allowed in UK. Anyway food was great staff were superb.

Great value. We had chateaubriand steak served on a hot stone which cooked the meat slices as we carved them off. Delicious!

Cocina típica portuguesa con muy buena relación calidad/precio. Estilo muy casero, trato familiar y amable. La dueña nos hizo la cuenta sumando el coste de los platos directamente en el mantel.
Disponen de comedor dentro y mesas en la terraza.

Décor incroyable, typiquement portuguais. Personnel chaleureux. Bonne nourriture, nous avons adoré notre expérience ! Faites attention : ils ne prennent pas la carte de crédit. Argent comptant seulement.

Ein gutes portugisisches Restaurant ! Deutsche Menükarte ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Karte ist so groß, dass Frische gewährleistet ist, aber es einen großzügige Auswahl an hauptsächlich Fleisch und Fischgerichten gibt. Auf Wunsch bereiten einem die Eigentümer sogar eine individuelle vegetarische Speise zu. Das von mir gegessen Fleisch war lecker und hatte durch das eigene Grillfinishing von mir auf dem heißem Stein die gewünschte Konsistenz.

Amazing visit lovely, friendly welcome when we first arrived.
Menu is varied in both fish and meat and nothing was a problem even though we don't speak fluent Portuguese we easily overcame the language barriers with our lovely waitresses.
We ordered a Chateubriand for 2 people and it was served on a hot stone so we could slice and cook as much or as little to our liking.....just perfect.
Got to say now this meal was the best of the week and we can't highly recommend a visit enough.
You also have to order the slightly sparkling house white wine served as half a carafe it was light, sparkling, sweet and just 2 glasses was enough to feel slightly woozy... .
All in all a gem of a restaurant off the beaten track and a must visit destination for a wonderful meal set in a traditional restaurant with superb food and a charming ambience.
You will be sorely tested to beat this restaurant for value for money.
Our little boy chose spaghetti Bolognese we had a cover of bread and olives when we arrived.
The steak, home made desserts. Carafe of wine, bottled water, freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccinos to finish on and the bill was still only 48 euros....!
We left a sizeable tip which was greatly appreciated but humbly received.
See you again soon to try the clam and tiger prawns.

Hier eet je heerlijk. Chateau vriend is een aanrader en de grote garnalen ook. Hele aardige bediening en de oudere dame is de pinautomaat cash betalen dus....

What a find this was. A little out of the way down a dirt track. Well worth a visit. Chateaubriand cooked on a hot stone 26 euros. Fabulous wine and the staff and owner were so lovely. Will be returning next year.

Don't miss this, it's a family owned restaurant in the middle of nowhere, they are open for lunch and dinner, except they close on Tuesday evenings. You choose a la carte, or the offer of the day (around 7 Euro), we love the steak in wine sauce and the mussels, but on tripadvisor people laud the other food too. This year we had lunch al fresco in December! We come here whenever we are in Algarve!
