Food was delicious, bursting with flavour. Friendly and funny staff. Food seemed to be marinated over night as it was so flavorful. They brought the choices of fish on a plate that you would be eating and you can pick which you wanted.

Delicious food... Hubby just said it's the nicest salmon he's ever eaten! Fab view(recommend sunset). Lovely staff!! Will be back!

Bit dissapointed. They invited us in from the street, we were excited to get a really good customer service experience. The moment we ordered what we wanted from the menu (not big amount items), we seemed uninteresting to the staff, they never looked at us again. The food wasn't the best either. I would say under average. There are so many other places we could have walked into, this one felt just like wasted money.

Very disappointed. Fish undercooked. They asked me if I had enjoyed it when I had left half! I said it wasn't cooked and was told I should have asked for it well done!

Great location, however the meals served to both my wife and myself were poor. My wifes fish, although fresh, was not cleaned properly, making it taste horrible, and mine was burnt and dry, with the badly charred side hidden. We will not be returning

Infelizmente tivemos uma péssima experiência nesse restaurante. Não é a toa que esse lugar estava vazio enquanto os restaurantes concorrentes estavam movimentados. Pedimos como entrada uma porção de camarão que estava ok, nada demais e um prato de mexilhões que o molho estava extremamente salgado. Ao pedirmos os prato principal, solicitamos o "razor clam" o qual podíamos escolher com arroz ou macarrão. O detalhe é que não está escrito no menu que esse prato é um ensopado onde você mal consegue ver os "razor clams" porque estão picados no meio da sopa junto com outros mariscos minúsculos, ou seja, comemos/tomamos uma sopa de conchas. Nossos familiares pediram o peixe do dia e pelo menos estes pratos estavam frescos e saborosos.
Jogamos 112€ fora!

Secretos de porco preto muito maus, deduzo que foram do congelador directamente para a grelha... Rijos e sem sabor... A salada que vem a acompanhar é tudo menos salada... Lata diretamente para o prato... Além do mais, os funcionários deste estabelecimento deviam dar menos atenção a TV, jogos de futebol, e mais atenção aos clientes... Uma sala com tantos funcionarios, vazia de clientes, e mesmo assim peca na limpeza dos wcs... Uma experiência a não repetir e não aconselho...

Wir haben schon in besseren Restaurants in Alvor gegessen, waren etwas enttäuscht von dem Restaurant.
Das Personal war nicht das Freundlichste.
Unser Essen war auch ehr durchschnittlich nichts besonderes, nichts was man in Erinnerung behalten würde.
Anscheinend muss man sich hier keine Mühe geben.
Wer ein bisschen weiter in die Stadt geht, kann in besseren Lokalen essen.

The restaurant opposite an empty Casa da Maré was almost full so we assumed it was the place to be, however, even though we stood outside eagerly trying to get someone's attention, we were ignored. We thought we'd give Casa da Maré a shot. Good choice it was. The Shrimp Curry was delicious. My partner had the Black Pork steak, which was very tasty. Their Almond Pie was amazing. I would eat there again. The staff were very friendly.

Servicio lento, gambas ni siquiera frescas y mal descongeladas. El bacalao estaba aguado y sin sabor. Precio muy caro para la calidad. Vamos, que se paga la vista y la ubicación.

We ordered a grilled red snapper for two. The food we received took 45minutes to arrive, was not for two and was burnt and could not be eaten (see pictures).
We politely refused the burnt fish and offered to pay for the water we consumed. The restaurant insisted that the burnt fish was normal and told us that there was nothing they could do about the burnt fish. We refused to pay as we had not eaten the burnt fish. The restaurant called the police and forced us to pay for the burnt food. This was one of the worse travelling experiences ever and would recommend travellers not to eat here.

Me gusta as they say. Food was good, wine was good, not as good as the food though. But the wine was still good, and so was the food. If you want good food, go to casa da maré. Staff were incredibly nice, polite and helpful but the food was not so good! Sangria was very boring and not traditional at all and the fish although fresh it was served in tiny portions in relation to the price! Other places in Alvor will give you better value for money!

Llegamos de rebote porque nos ignoraron en el Yath club y descubrimos un lugar genial para comer. Lo único los mejillones que estamos acostumbrados a que tengan buena carne pero las sardinas, las gambas a la plancha y el atún encebollado genial, nos trataron muy bien y nos cobraron para dos personas con postre, bebidas y cafés 62 €. Tried this place for dinner as it was very popular and the sight and smell of grilled fish being cooked outside was very enticing. Friendly, welcoming and very good service. I chose a special of sea bass fillets. Food served promptly after ordering and good presentation, fish was cooked perfectly as were the accompanying potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. Great buzzy atmosphere, very good food, service, good value for money and a great restaurant in Alvor.

So disappointing. Ate here yesterday evening and food was awful and service so slow despite there only being 2 of us and 1 other person in the restaurant. My pork dish was not cooked and that was after waiting over 45 minutes for it!! Will never go back. The 1 star is for the view /location.

Wij zijn regelmatig in dit restaurant gaan eten .... tot ook wij een keer een dessert kregen met schimmel op het gebak ! Uiteraard hebben we dit terug gegeven. Zonder enige verontschuldigingen of tegemoetkoming op het einde de rekening gekregen. Zij zien ons nooit meer terug !

Poor service, the staff looked like they wanted to end their lives to be honest, no interest or professionalism was shown here, myself and my partner ordered piri piri chicken and you'd want the jaws of an ass to eat it. During our stay in alvor this was the worst place we ate in, you will pass numerous restaurants before you find this dump, and if you do decide to eat in here make sure and bring something to swat the flies with!!

Gut gelaunt und voller Freude hingegangen - aggressiv rausgekommen!
Wir haben jeweils ein Getränk bestellt und einmal Garnelen und pulvo. Auf das Essen haben wir 50 Minzen gewartet. In der Zwischenzeit, keinen Kellner gefunden, der sich um unseren und die 3 umliegenden Tische gekümmert hat.
Das Essen an sich ein Witz. Für 4 tot gebratene Garnelen und pulvo (2 Getränke ) und 1 Glas Wein 47 Euro bezahlt. Auf die Rechnung noch mal weitere 20 Minuten gewartet. Die Kellner sind absolut unaufmerksam, jeder bedient jeden Tisch - Katastrophe - Absolut das schlechteste was wir an der Algave gegessen und erlebt haben.

Fisch-Garnelen-Spieß war ok, aber auch nicht mehr. Sardellen wurden mit Innereien gegrillt und serviert. Der Service ließ zu wünschen übrig. Das Personal war zwar höflich, aber ziemlich desinteressiert, unmotiviert und teilweise unprofessionell. Die Preise sind für die Größe der Portionen ok.

Comida estragada e falta de profissionalismo. Pedi um Frango à Piri-piri, que veio com um cheiro azedo e um sabor ácido. Queixei-me do sabor duvidoso, aparentemente de frango estragado, crítica que não foi de todo bem recebida ou aceite. Perguntaram-me se queria substituir. Pedi que fosse algo rápido, visto já ter esperado demasiado pelo primeiro prato e ja ter toda a gente à minha espera. Sugerem-me Polvo à Lagareiro sem trazer a carta. No fim, cobraram-me o polvo na sua totalidade, prato que custava o dobro do Frango à Piri-piri, sem qualquer atenção à minha má experiência, ao tempo de espera... Nem sequer houve um pedido de desculpas pelos responsáveis. Uma vergonha. Conseguiram transformar um bom almoço de fim-de-semana, numa refeição de total desprazer.

Not good unfortunately. Service was poor. Food was distinctly average. We waited for 45 minutes after placing the order to find out they had forgotten to put the order through to the kitchen. Ok fair enough I thought, everybody makes a mistake. However nobody apologised about the mistake and the full price was on the bill at the end. It took over an hour to get the simple meal out to us in the end. I also had to argue to get them to reduce the final bill, which they eventually did do, which is why I have given 2 stars otherwise it would be 1 star.

Popped in for a lunch with no great expectations and came away well satisfied. I had one of the daily specials, octopus, and my partner had mussels. The mussels were good but my octopus was superb, it had been grilled as well as being cooked with onions, garlic and herbs, truly delicious and a.very generous portion. Service was friendly and attentive and prices quite ok. I would happily eat here again.

First night in Alvor went here for anniversary meal, what a disappointment. Service was very poor, had to wait 1 hour for a starter and it got worse from there. Food was awful, sea bass had been cooked to death. Don't bother wasting your money.

Das Schweinesteak schmeckte wie ein Stück in Öl getränktes Gummi und war völlig ungenießbar. Der angeblich gegrillte Fisch war gebraten, ölig und total versalzen.
Die "Speisen" die wir zurückgegeben haben wurden nicht berechnet. Das war auch der einzige Pluspunkt.

Food was incredibly below average, seafood overcooked and tasteless, I never knew fish or prawns could taste so mushy and bland. The fish probably died a second time just because the dishes were so bad. Over priced for the non-quality of food, we even received a little surprise at the end of dinner, 11€ for bread and butter!! And the waiter had the audacity to argue that convert for ten people would be different, we were 4 (3girls/1guy). Besides the point, usually bread and butter is priced per item/table and not per person FYI. It was a complete rip-off, not worth trying. I would have rated it zero stars if it were an option.

Restaurante MAU, tempo de espera mais de uma hora e meia e ninguém sabe responder a nada nem os responsáveis. Nunca mais e vou desaconselhar a todos os que visitem Alvor.
