Tolle Aussicht über die Algarve vom fast höchsten Punkt. Der Service war sehr verkaufstüchtig und nett. Tintenfisch gegrillt mit Knoblauch war für Vampire super, hat letztendlich trotzdem sehr gut geschmeckt.
Alles in allem, kann man die Aussicht, gepaart mit einem bodenständigen Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen genießen.

Ist einen Besuch wert. Wenn man Rindersteaks essen möchte. Ich habe leider ein Hähnchen piri piri gegessen, das war trocken und nicht scharf. Die anderen hatten Calamari und Rindersteak. Die zwei waren begeistert vom Geschmack und von der Qualität. Dazu gibt es gratis einen wunderschönen Ausblick aufs Meer. Die Preise sind inklusive Ausblick günstig. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam.

Read a lot of reviews about this place with magnificent views way up in the mountain. We were hreeted as if we were well known, shown to a table waiter most helpful regarding the menu, we chose beef on the block and a tuna salad(huge helping). You could not fault the food not too long to wait. Exellent value for money.

Zum Teil semi-freundliches Personal. Fühlten uns nicht willkommen, wahrscheinlich weil wir (gefühlt als einzige im ganzen Lokal) keine Vorspeise(n) und keinen Wein zum Essen wollten. Nach dem Zahlen wurden wir auch nicht verabschiedet.
Zum Essen an sich:
Für deutsche Verhältnisse ist das Preis-/Leistungsniveau eher schlecht, für die Algarve ausreichend. Die Portionen sind ok, aber wirklich satt wurden wir beide nicht. Die Preise sind eher gehoben. Entgegen unseren Erwartungen aus dem aktuellen Reiseführer („Hauptspeisen zwischen 7€ - 14€“) gab es quasi keine Hauptspeise unter 12€, sondern eher im Bereich von 16€ bis 20€. Scheinbar wurden die Preise hier in jüngster Zeit ordentlich angehoben.
Die 1,5 Liter Plastikfasche auf dem Tisch gab es immerhin für faire 2,5€.
Fazit: Für den „größeren“ Geldbeutel (ab 35€ pP) einen Halt auf der Durchreise wert (schöner Ausblick).

Delicious food and very helpful and pleasant staff. We just had the wine , and dessert. The truffle was out of this world, in fact I took one to go also to eat later. They have their own wine cellar there and some of the best wines and ports you have ever tasted.

Good quality restaurant with excellent views. Book a table in advance if you want to get the best view. Very good seafood. The wild boar was excellent and portion sizes are generous (the wild boar casserole could easily serve three). Not the cheapest place around but scored 5 stars for the combination of quality and portion size.

A really good place to have an excellent dinner. Nice and friendly staff, delicious food and a great view. We have tried the grilled squids and the boar and both were very, very good! We could not eat the whole portion, because it was so much. The local ham as starter was also amazing.

Excellent restaurant! Can honestly say this is the best meal I've had in months anywhere! Portugal or UK! I had the Lulas Grelhadas. They were soooo good! Partner had chicken which he said was also excellent, not dry, just perfect. The staff are friendly, attentive and chatty but not in your face all the time. We had the bread, olives, cheese and Parma ham to start which was lovely and the views are great too. Please go up to Monchique and support the local businesses. They need people to go back after all the devastation of the fires and you can't find a better restaurant. Will definitely be returning! Sorry for the half eaten plates of food photos! We were enjoying it so much forgot to take the photo!!

We sat at a seat without the amazing view and we still loved every minute of our meal!
Brilliant food. Meal for 2. Fried octopus was exceptional. Grilled squid was really, really good too.
Lovely atmosphere - family run spot with lots of character. Waiter laid back and honest! We asked has they a particular wine (a local that we had had the night before). Our waiter said they did not have it but had something similar. Explained the grape and the origin, told us it may not be as nice but was worth trying. It was just as nice! Dessert was home made (Bonofie Pie and Almond Chocolate tart) - both delicious!
Overall it was a really good experience. Great food, great service, great view! Would highly recommend.

We were quite disappointed with this restaurant having read the positive reviews of others. All the waiters seemed to be totally miserable, inattentive and thoroughly bored. I ordered a chicken peri peri which was not only quite tasteless but also a very small portion. The only saving grace for this restaurant is the view. I would not recommend for anything g but a coffee or soft drink.

Daqueles sitios que não engana e onde se consegue atingir o êxtase supremo... Pedimos javali com ameixas e lombinhos de porco preto com migas de espargos.. .. Mais não digo.... Adoramos o pudim de mel e o doce de Alfarroba tão típicos da região... É tudo bom, para quem gostar de comida...

Comida bem cozinhada e de qualidade. Preços compatíveis com quantidade (maioria das doses para 2). Pessoal simpático e atencioso apesar de sazonal. Muito frquentado pelo que por vezes tem lista de espera. Vistas de montanha mas atualmente degradada pelo incêndio na zona de Monchique.

Beautiful views is you manage to get a seat outside. Food was very salty, particularly the Angus burger.
Waiter not very accommodating. Asked for a tuna sandwich for my child and he said no tuna salad only, even though they have bread and tuna. No kids menus.

AVIS GENERAL : Meilleur restaurant que nous ayons expérimenté dans les alentours de notre maison de location durant les vacances.
CADRE : Nous avons eu la chance d'obtenir une table à l'extérieur qui offre une magnifique vue sur la vallée.
INFOS PRATIQUES : Pensez à réserver à l'avance car le restaurant se remplit vite. Attention de bien se couvrir pour les frileux car le vent souffle fort à l'extérieur. Nous avons par ailleurs apprécié le fait que le restaurant mettait à disposition de ses clients des couvertures.
SERVICE : très rapide !
PLATS : Menu assez complet, chacun peut y trouver son bonheur. Les champignons au miel et porto sont délicieux en entrée. Les plats sont très copieux donc si vous êtes un petit mangeur, n'hésitez pas à faire l'impasse sur l'entrée.
BOISSONS : Nous avons beaucoup aimé la sangria rouge.
En somme, très chouette expérience en famille, je vous recommande ce restaurant !

Great experience and great view! I recommande the mushrooms as a starter then the lamb leg. It was delicious. I advise to make a reservation since the restaurant is often full. There's a large parking on the other side of the road but it's often full too.

Absolutely fantastic food. Would highly recommend for anyone who considers themselves interested in food. We tried the specials of the day as recommended by the waiter and it was all delicious. So much delicious meat. A different type of cuisine to what is available along the coast.
There is meant to be an amazing view but we visited on a very rainy day. There was a very cosy atmosphere and despite the restaurant being very busy we did not feel at all rushed.

Food was incredible with great quality products and very friendly staff.
Make sure you make a reservation and try and get there early by dinner so you can enjoy the view as the sun sets.

Delicious local Algarvian “mountain” food. The fried octopus was amazing. Wish I could have tried more dishes, but the portions are quite large already. The views are even more spectacular than the food, worth the trip up to Monchique!

Lieu magnifique et cuisine copieuse, prix pour 5 ( 3 adultes et 2 enfants), sans vin mais juste l apero, plat et désert 83€. Paiement par carte possible, parking juste en face. Je vous conseil de monter 2 kilomètres au dessus avant de venir manger, car la vue et à couper le souffle. Bonne route et bonne appétit.

The food is nothing short of magnificent, bridging local portuguese cuisine specialities with fantastic portions that will leave you in need of a nap afterwards. Great couvert with local cured presunto and cheeses, great grilled Iberian pork with migas. Prices are reasonable for the area and quality. Desserts could be improved but not to the point of causing a down-grade. To repeat!

Very disappointed. The food is always good but customer service was totally missing. No warm welcome, not one member of the team had a smile and we felt like we were treated quite badly on our recent visit. Won't be going back.

Creio que faz mais de 15 anos que a minha família frequenta o restaurante, e sempre correu tudo bem. A comida é super bem confeccionada apesar dos preços serem um pouco altos, mas hoje não posso dizer que foi uma experiência agradável. Aceito que em Julho seja normal esperar um pouco mais, no entanto as entradas e prato principal foram extremamente rápidos a chegar...o mesmo não posso dizer em relação à sobremesa. Simplesmente ficamos numa mesa esquecidos, por mais de uma hora e nem para perguntar se queriamos uma água a mais, por exemplo...algum funcionário se lembrou de lá ir. E quando finalmente achamos que já era demais, o senhor que chamei achou que podia responder com uma espécie de "gracinha". O que não teve graça absolutamente nenhuma. Pelo que vi hoje, está demasiado cheio de mesas para o espaço reduzido, o que leva a crer que está mais para servir em quantidade do que em qualidade. Talvez aumentar o espaço e o número de funcionários ajudasse a que estas situações não acontecessem.

Para a nossa família é paragem obrigatória sempre que fazemos um passeio por Monchique / Foia.
Vista deslumbrante e comida deliciosa. Podem escolher peixe ou carne que certamente vão ficar bem servidos.
Para nós o ponto alto é a sobremesa: mousse de alfarroba com gelado de baunilha. Delicioso!

Tolles Restaurant mit einer super Aussicht. Ich selbst hab Nahrungsmittelintoleranzen und mein Gericht wurde auf meine Wünsche umgestrickt. Es war super lecker. Der Service ist sehr aufmetksam und freundlich. Sehr empfehlenswert.

The restaurant is located on a hillside next to the road to Foia mountain. The view is great - you can enjoy the beautiful scenery all way to the sea 20 kms away. Food was nice but nothing that special really. Chicken kebab, chicken piripiri and black pork Monchique style were good but prawns piripiri was dry and the portion was very small even if I am not a big eater. Desserts were all locally made at the restaurant, very delicious and lots of varieties to choose from.

Der Portier unseres Hotels sagte uns dass dies eins der besten Restaurants in der Umgebung ist. Und er hatte Recht.

Heel mooi uitzicht en heerlijk eten.
De dag specialiteit (pork chops) was heerlijk mals, maar de kip piri piri was helaas wat droger.
We konden er zonder reservering met twee personen terecht op het terras, terwijl het heel druk was. We kregen uitgebreide hapjes vooraf (kaas, ham, olijfjes, brood) en het hoofdgerecht werd snel geserveerd.
De sfeer was top. Loungemuziekje aan, niet te hard maar wel goed verstaanbaar. En het uitzicht... Magnifiek!

Comida de excelente qualidade e sabor. Excelente atendimento, muito atenciosos. A quantidade de entradas e da própria refeição é muito boa. Comida típica, confeccionada de forma tradicional, muito saborosa e bem condimentada. Fomos surpreendidos por uma salada de laranja e agrião, muito agradável, laranja super docinha e excelente contraste.

Filet vom Schwarzen Schwein war sehr lecker. Große Portion.
Leider ist die Algarve ein sehr teures Pflaster. Auch im monchique es recht teuer. Preis Leistung war hier angemessen.
Bedienung beim Service auf der Aussenterrasse Leider etwas träge.
Sonst aber alles ok.

Precio medio...Pedimos Secreto con migas y cerdo negro con ajo y perejil (gran cantidad de comida) mas las entradas mas 4 bebidas por 55 euros, precio adecuado para la calidad de la comida, el servicio y la ubicación.
Volveré sin duda!

Buiten gezeten met een adembenemend uitzicht. Bediening ietwat stug. Binnen zat het propvol en iedereen te dicht op elkaar dus daar hadden wij zeker niet willen zitten. Lunchkaart niet goedkoop maar wel lekker. Zeker de witte wijn!

By far the best food, friendliest service and most amazing views we have experienced during our stay in Portugal. The quality of the food was second to none and the prices made us realise just how overinflated all the seaside restaurants were. If you are a foody this place is a must! The staff is friendly and very honest. Pork cheeks in chestnuts were to die for!

We loved this place so much we came two nights in a row, the view is spectacular, we arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was packed, they only had one available table, so i recommend you book one if you can, the views are breathtaking, the atmosphere makes you feel welcomed and relaxed, the service is so fast, the staff is very attentive and nice.
And of course the food, from the starters to the mains, to the desserts everything is on point, the portions are really big. I recommend octopus and sweet potato, and the wild boar ( can serve two easily). Lovely experience, if you're in the algarve this is the place to go, it was our favorite by far.
