I love this place. I would give it 6* if I could. Fast check in, very thorough and the rooms are also very thought through. Loved the gift of Port in our rooms for your anniversary celebrations and home made cookies. I'm not a big eater so the simple breakfasts were perfect for me in their gorgeous little courtyard. Best of all, the location. You're five mins walk from the coolest area full if concept stores and first class bars and restaurants and at night you return to such peace and quiet. I booked a studio because I was working and it was like my own little house! Only comment was the iron needed an upgrade and I missed the fluffy towels, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I regret not booking for much longer. Juan and Pablo, thank you for such a memorable experience, I shall return. Your tips were also en pointe!

This was the cutest guesthouse we’ve ever stayed in. We chose the Studio Duplex and loved the decor and the space. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was great. Juan is fantastic and really makes you feel at home when you arrive. He goes above expectations giving us some insider guides and helping us feel extra special. The breakfast in the outdoor space is quaint and the food was plentiful and delicious. The neighborhood is a little out of the way from the Touristic side of Lisbon but still a 10 min walk. We loved it so we could see a little more true Lisbon lifestyle.

Unforgettable experience! The level of hospitality at Casa Amora is beyond exceptional. We stayed here for five nights, and I cannot say a single negative thing about our experience. Charming space, with beautiful interior decor, and the cutest common kitchen/dinning area. Thanks to Juan’s warmth, Nita’s delicious cooking, and Vladimir’s attention to detail, Casa Amora was truly our home away from home! Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique stay and love to surround yourself by a genuine and caring team.

Good breakfast, great service in a nice part of Lisbon. Can walk to many good restaurants in Príncipe Réal, short walk to Rato metro station to get to airport or get to bigger Lisbon sights with tram 24. Juan helped make our visit a wonderful start to our vacation, with lots of information and other little treats.

It's been over a decade since I genuinely enjoyed my time in a hotel/guesthouse/B&B/Airbnb, but it's safe to say Casa Amora was nothing but delightful. Yes, a lot of it has to do with the actual venue – a beautiful property located in a fairly quiet, yet easily accessible neighbourhood in charming Lisbon. However, the two things that made me fall in love with Casa Amora are its staff and their incredible attention to detail. Not only I felt comfortable from the moment I showed up with my luggage at their doorstep, I felt at home too. Everything I needed was there: from coffee and tea whenever I felt like having a cup, to a Bluetooth speaker right beside my cosy bed. For better or for worse, Casa Amora has set the bar almost impossibly high for any other accommodation I book in future. And if I end up disappointed every single time I stay anywhere else, well, I guess I can always go back to R. João Penha 13, in Lisbon.

The selfish guy in me would prefer not to review this venue, so it remains a bit of a hidden gem. But having been welcomed so incredibly well by all at Casa Amora, its the very least I can do.Look no further, this is the best guesthouse in Lisbon. Perhaps in the whole of Portugal.From the leafy terrace that begs for a lazy afternoon and a bottle of wine, to the impossibly cosy bedroom that almost convinced me to forget about Lisbon and stay in, the place screams attention to detail.I could go on about how good the food served at breakfast is, how lovely the staff is, how handy the location is, et al. But heres a more revealing statement: Ill do my best to fly back to Lisbon and stay at Casa Amora again (this time for at least five days) as soon as possible.

I cant say enough about Casa Amora and the staff. My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights on our first visit to Lisbon. I picked this place because of the great reviews. But it truly is a special place. We texted Paolo from the airport and he greeted us at the door when we arrived. For 40 minutes he talked to us about breakfast every morning, gave us a map and things to see in the city, and most importantly gave us a phone with GPS, internet, phone calling. We used this phone to call restaurants and our bank, for maps (we would of been lost w/o it on some of those streets), internet. It also had restaurant and sight seeing suggestions. It is about a 30 min walk to the heart of Lisbon downhill. Coming back it is uphill, but we bought the 24 hour metro card for 6.40 euro and that was key. The Rato station (yellow line) is an easy walk and from there could go anywhere. We are not metro people and it was very easy to use. We stayed in the Manuel Oliviera apartment which was on the corner across from a charming park. The apt was very clean, bathroom shower had great pressure, soap & shampoo provided. There was coffee and tea. Fresh water bottle every night. Maid service every day. Complimentary bottle of wine. One thing to note: the bed is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs (for those that get up in the night). The highlight was the morning breakfast! A shout out to Nita!! She cooked everyday a delicious breakfast. They accomodated early breakfast

Casa Amora was the most wonderful place to spend a long weekend in Lisbon - so perfect, in fact, that me and my partner got engaged in their lovely courtyard!! Juan and Carlos were so helpful and it really felt like we were staying with family, they were so kind and made our visit really special. Juan gave excellent recommendations of places to visit around the city, and the smartphone they give all the guests loaded with information and direct contact with the guesthouse was such a useful innovation. We cant wait to come back to visit soon!!

Casa Amora was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It’s more than just a guest house. From the warm welcome we received, the beautiful room with unique features and furnishings and the attention to detail from the team during our stay, we couldn’t have asked for more. Special shout out for the delicious homemade breakfast dishes, especially the tortilla and cake!

Wonderful boutique hotel. Amazing breakfast included and lots of little thoughtful amenities. Loved the courtyard where breakfast was. Room was nice size and had everything we needed. Host was very helpful with suggestions on how to explore Lisbon. Even had a cell phone for us to use

I cannot recommend Casa Amora and the fabulous staff there highly enough. It is situated perfectly with easy, straightforward access to the heart of the city and numerous parks and the rooms and living facilities were amazing. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, giving me a detailed overview of ideas for what to do during my holiday and catering to my dietary requirements (Coeliac) with ease. As a young woman visiting the city alone I could not have felt more safe or well looked after - they even provide a phone pre-loaded with great suggestions for places to visit that you can use to navigate. I am already looking forward to returning.

Fantastic stay. Booked studio room for two nights in Lisbon. Service was excellent and accessible- they kindly allowed me to check in early in the morning and offered be breakfast when I arrived. Provided smartphone with data to use in the city and lots of great recommendations. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Shower was surprisingly good. Breakfast excellent as well. Would definitely book again.

Sucht nicht weiter - ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es eine bessere Unterkunft in Lissabon gibt, als diese. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist phänomenal, der Gastgeber so sympathisch, hilfsbereit, wie es besser nicht ginge. Die Lage top und unser Zimmer war sehr ruhig gelegen. Die Einrichtung ist total romantisch, wie es sich für den Namen Casa Amora gehört. Das Frühstück ist vielfältig, vollwertig und frisch. Die Yoghurts und Fruchtsäfte sind hausgemacht. Top war auch, dass der Gastgeber gratis ein Mobilephone mit Internet zur Verfügung stellte, das man in ganz Lissabon verwenden konnte und uns täglich half, uns zurecht zu finden. Das Gratis-WLAN im Haus ist schnell und ebenfalls kostenlos.

Wonderful service and excellent staff. Delicious breakfast and tasteful and well appointed rooms. Sadly though a lack of soundproofing on our suite made sleep without ear plugs impossible. It was though we were sleeping with all the doors and windows open so that Aircraft, street noise and mopeds were loud and impossible to ignore. Without this issue 5 stars would have been my rating.

We stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights. The moment we arrived we had a very warm welcome by the really friendly host. The room had a lot of space, a little kitchen and a comfortable bed, also free coffe and water and even a little bottle of red vine as a present.Breakfast is served at the small terrace. The orangejuice was amazing!

Lagei ist Top - ruhig und trotzdem zentral. Einrichtung des Hotels ist einzigartig- liebevoll mit Stil. Super bequeme Betten und sehr sauber. Frühstück fantastisch- gesund, abwechslungsreich und reichlich. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir kommen wieder und werden Casa Amore auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Tip: die kleine Bar nebenan.

We loved our stay at Casa Amora over the weekend. The place, the breakfast, the duplex studio and especially the warm hospitality of Juan make this place a real gem in Lisboa! During your stay you also get a smartphone with a lot of handpicked recommendations where to eat, drink and where to go. We liked that idea! The staff of Casa Amora really cares about every little detail. They prepared a really cute cot for our youngest daughter and Juan made amazing crepes especially for us on our last day! I don‘t think you could get any better service than here.

Wir haben hier drei Nächte verbracht und uns auf Anhieb pudelwohl gefühlt. Man wird sofort mehr als herzlich in Empfang genommen und fühlt sich sofort zu Hause. Wir hatten ein tolles Appartement, welches direkt neben dem Haupthaus steht. Alles ist sehr sauber und mit Liebe zum Detail dekoriert. Unseres Erachtens sind hier insbesondere die Gastgeber besonders hervorzuheben. Wir haben super viele (Insider-)Tipps für die Stadt erhalten, von denen wir auch einige umgesetzt haben. Auch wenn man Hilfe benötigt hatte, kam diese sofort. Leider eine Art, die man heutzutage nicht mehr allzu häufig antrifft. Wir können demnach das Casa Amora Wärmstens empfehlen.

The staff make this place. Really warm and inviting and very helpful from the outset. The room was good and very comfortable and the location is fairly good for Lisbon. Breakfast is nice and relaxed and no issue for vegetarians. Would definitely stay here again.

Het was weer een warm welkom , wat de gastheren ons gaven. Enthousiast over hun stad en gastvrij wat betreft alle faciliteiten rondom ons verblijf! Bijv. Koffie, thee, melk , Port, koekjes, fruit ; mag je gerust je hele verblijf van genieten. Ook het ontbijt is super en erg uitgebreid. Als je niet oppast ,moet je ruim enkele kledingmaten groter naar huis vertrekken ! Een absolute aanrader!!!!

Casa Amora is an intimate welcoming to Lisbon. They are incredibly hands on and the entire experience from entering into their garden to the moment before you check out is personal and welcoming. I am so grateful for the kindness Juan showed me from the moment I arrived (he did my laundry as nothing was open on the Sunday I need it) he told me all his favorite spots and the hotel even provides a phone packed full of tips and maps and phone credit in case you are traveling from afar and don't have roaming. The entire experience felt like home and I would absolutely come again. Breakfasts were top notch and I slept like a baby in the studio room. I really liked how welcoming and attentive Juan was when I arrived at the door. Also, the mobile phone that he gives you was a life saver for me! I used it to find my way around Lisbon and also to find places to eat for dinner. The breakfast each morning was delicious! The property is located near a metro station which is only 4 stops from downtown Lisbon. It is also near a grocery store which is great if you want to pick up some items to eat/cook in your room. The only thing I wasnt so keen on was having my studio on the ground floor.

Very quirky, unique place. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Good location within walking distance of lots of the sights in Lisbon. Very nice breakfast on offer, with freshly made clafoutis, tortillas and pastries. Highly recommended

Excellent first visit to Portugal overall . We had an upgraded room. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine.The hotel is a two minute walk from metro (Rato stop ). All the guests receive a smart phone that helps them navigate thru Lisbon. The phone also has google search and allows you to make local calls for free, with an addition of 30Min / a day of international calls . Close also to a grocery store .

Estuvimos dos noches en un estudio, con nuestro perro. No hay palabras para describir este alojamiento en todos los aspectos. No le doy más de 5 estrellas porque no se puede.

Mehr als nur die typische portugiesische Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft... für den Gast macht die Equipe alles möglich! Das Frühstück in Bioqualität, die Bitterorangenmarmelade stammt aus dem Garten des Inhabers. Wer nachmittags müde in die Casa Amora kommt, findet selbstgemachtes Gebäck vor und kann Tee oder Kaffee dazu geniessen. Kostet nichts!Der einzige Minuspunkt: ältere Menschen wie wir hätten sich statt der frei stehenden Designerbadewanne, in die man zum duschen hineinsteigen musste, eine Duschkabine und daneben ein Bidet gewünscht.

Fue todo una sorpresa. No esperaba para nada este tipo de alojamiento. las instalaciones perfectas, el trato maravillo, la ubicación, la tranquilidad, el desayuno insuperable. Cada mañana nos sorprendían con algo casero y natural. No le faltaba detalle. Sin duda lo recomiendo y sin duda volveré.

Zeer goed en gevarieerd ontbijt met plaatselijke specialiteiten. De kamers zijn verzorgd. Zeer rustige ligging, maar toch op wandelafstand van het historisch centrum. Iedere dag verrast met een lokaal flesje drank tijdens de feestdagen. Top!

The staff of Casa Amora are on the top of their game; great food, service and comfortable rooms made our stay here quite the delight. Excellent value for money and a much better than anticipated breakfast experience. When it comes to B&B, they did it all Trumps!

Having just returned from Lisbon, I can definitively say that Casa Amora is leaps and bounds above other area bed and breakfasts. From their taste of traditional decor, idealic location and a friendly well informed staff; they covered all bases. John and his mutilingual team catered to our needs with kindness, a beguilded calm and genuine guest orientation. Delight in their complimentary teas, organic fruits and wide array of traditional port wines from their 'honesty -bar'. The assortment of offerings during breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. The only drawback to our otherwise wonderful stay was the sound of footsteps of guests in the rooms above us given the pristine wooden flooring. Hats off to Casa Amora. We'll be back when next in Lisboa!

Lissabon muss man gesehen haben, erleben! Am besten geht es mit einer Führung zu Fuß , da wird viel erklärt und man sieht vieles wo man sonst einfach dran vorbei laufen würde.

Absolutely terrific place right in a quiet street in the north west of the centre. The rooms are amazingly beautiful, furnished with attention to detail I have rarely ever encountered. Every room looks like it jumped directly out of a international home decoration magazine, but still the atmosphere is very personal and private. Breakfast was super delicious and healthy, too - with freshly squeezed juices, jummy casseroles that changed on a daily basis and tasty bread that even travellers from the home country of the bread baking art can appreciate. The hosts, Joao and Luis were super friendly and helpful and did everything to make us feel at home and we did! We definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back for sure.
