Great guest house! Pool and breakfast were great. Room was small but very clean. Shared bathroom was very clean but no shampoo or soap. Quiet neighborhood close to restaurants. Would recommend!

What a hidden gem! Of all our stay in Portugal, this was by far our favorite! We will be sure to stay here every time we come back!

Wanted a budget weekend away for a wedding. The owners are lovely. So helpful and friendly, wanted to say goodbye before I left to thank them, but unfortunately I got no answer. Would definitely recommend. I had a basic garden studio, which I really liked, suited me perfectly as I was spending time with friends. Very clean, great breakfasts and lovely people, would most certainly go again thank you

Acogedora casa con buen trato de los caseros. No está lejos del centro andando.

Muy mala experiencia. Fuimos 4 amigos, habíamos reservado y pagado dos habitaciones con el baño compartido. Al llegar allí nos encontramos con que no tenían habitación y nos mandaron de malas maneras a otra casa a un kilómetro y medio de allí, más lejos del centro, además ésta no contaba con piscina y el baño era a compartir entre 3 habitaciones, tampoco incluía el desayuno. Finalmente, fuimos a reclamar la devolución del dinero al dueño, muy grosero, después de discutir un buen rato nos devolvió el dinero y nos fuimos de allí a buscar otro sitio donde dormir.

ES UN TIMO, reservamos con más de un mes de antelación pagamos por adelantado reservando con el propio dueño (un maleducado), nos desvió a otro apartamento con unas condiciones totalmente diferentes, quisimos reclamar nuestro dinero, y nos acusó de entrar en su casa con malas formas, no nos devolvía el dinero, y nos echó de su casa dejando a una compañera hablando con el, fue gracias a la dueña que nos devolvió el dinero sin ningún inconveniente,..... Horrible trato, horribles formas y horrible profesionalidad

The staff was really unfrienly. The guy kept making unconfortable jokes which upset my wife. She told her to stay outside of the room so he could have a talk between men.

There was confusion over the check in time, our Expedia confirmation said 2 and the host said 3. No apology or explanation, we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. The host didnt recognise the Expedia logo and although we understood, we felt that there was no effort to accommodate our family(25 minutes early!!) unfortunately this first impression stuck! On the positive side the breakfast was great!

The owners of the White House were super friendly and accomodating. My husband and I originally booked the junior room, which is a bit small but livable for a vacation when you dont plan to spend much time inside given the beautiful local scenery. However, they surprisingly moved us to a standard room which made the stay all the more enjoyable! The only downside, if you want to be in the heart of downtown Cascais, it is located about 0.5-1 miles from the center (10-15 min walk). A lovely walk but not in the mix, though it is definitely more quiet.

I had to book a place for my biz trip last minute and only found this guest house to be decent. However, when i checked in, i realised my room wasnt en-suite and i had to share a balcony with the room next door. This was something i never imagined, but it all turned out ok as everyone there was nice and friendly.The owners of the hotel are very very welcoming and Gi will make you feel really cared for and just like you are at your aunts place. Breakfast is served from 8:30am which is a bit late for me but considering most people there are for holiday, it should not be a problem. The breakfast menu changes a bit every day and the pool is very nice on a hot day. Maid comes every day to clean but the wall is not very very thick so you can hear people esepcially if they are loud speakers or watch TV until late.Other than that, I felt like I was home and for this price, its a nice bargain.

This guest house spoiled me. I truly felt like it was a home away from home. I was traveling to Estoril for work at the Circuit there and this gem of a hotel was only €5-€7 cab fare away, yet it was only 10 minutes walk away from the coast. The hosts were full of knowledge and they happily shared info on the area and all the things there are to do around Cascais. It most certainly wont be my last trip there.

Détente assurée. Quartier calme et reposant. Un peu loin de la ville pour y aller à pied, mais faisable si on aime marcher. Parking facile. Salle de bains à partager. Piscine dans le jardin. Gisela est de bon conseil pour bien profiter de la région. Beaucoup de marches pour ceux qui se dépacent difficilement.... Globalement, je conseille cet établissement.

Enjoyed our stay last week , even though not given the best room for adults. we were fine with a childrens room!! but we are adaptable. The pool was a nice dip after a long day and the breakfast was good for a b and b as some continental consist just a drink and croissant. Had a reasonable choice every day . Giselle very friendly and helpful .Only downside was our shower would turn very hot at times and could scald . The position from cascais is a bit far out-( as we are able to walk we did) rather than pay 5 euros a trip for 4 trips a day! as not many restaurants shops or bars close by. For older people this would be an expense or bus a bit cheaper. Think a shuttle bus with set times into town would be a great advantage to the place.

Wir hatten eigentlich ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad gebucht, erhielten jedoch ein Bad zusammen mit dem Nachbarzimmer. Die Bettwäsche hatte einige, unschöne Flecken. Ganz zu schweigen von der Wolldecke, die im Schrank lag.Leider war nur ein Stuhl im Zimmer vorhanden, etwas schade, wenn man sich gerne zu zweit auf den Balkon setzen möchte, auf welchem ansonsten nämlich kein Mobiliar zur Verfügung stand.Insgesamt ist die Atmosphäre im Gästehaus sehr entspannt, was sich allerdings in den oben genannten Punkten dann auch als zu (nach)lässig erweisen kann...Insgesamt wirklich schade, da die Gastgeberin sehr nett und hilfsbereit ist und gute Tipps für Aktivitäten usw. gibt.

Having never been to Portugal before we were not sure what to see or do in Cascais, that was until Gisele and Richard the owners gave us a list of where to go and what to see and most importantly how to get there! Just a 20 minute walk into or a 5 minute bus ride got us into the centre of Cascais. A 10 minute walk took us to a selection of restaurants - wonderful food. A change of bus in Cascais took us up into the hills to Sintra and 2 lovely days going around the palaces. Then there was how to get into Lisbon and what to see on the way and whilst strolling around the city. All thanks to Giseles enthusiasm of her country and local vacinity.Breakfasts were simple continental but always with a suprise cake or savoury spread. Of course there were the custard tarts - made by our hostess - delicious. Im going to have to go back if only to try and obtain the recipe!Gisele and Richard certainly made the holiday, and I thank them for the welcome and friendship. Their son was also a great help with getting my phone to work too! How many other hotels would have you sit down to a complimentary liqueur and listen to where you have been during the day?
