Two concepts separated by a door. On one side a Wine Bar with excelente craft beers and wonderful tapas, with excelente service and friendly staff. On the other side a restaurante with more care, with a beautiful decoration and very welcoming. High quality food with a price to match, made by a young Chef of 21years old. Excellent wine cellar, careful service, attentive and effective. To come back and recommend, you are on a great road to sucess!

Our last evening in Ericeira, we had an amazing meal with the friendliest of staff who recommended great wine for each course. Atmosphere was great and amazing views of the sunset from our window seat. Our best meal in Ericeira, will be back next time.

Friends of us rented the place for their pre-wedding drinks & food and we were all very satisfied. The food was very tasty, drinks were great and the staff super friendly and helpful. Can only recommend the place.

Local simpático com oferta interessante, com boa opção de vinhos mas com muitos vinhos de "supermercado"que, por mim, não podem ter lugar num local destes.
Alguns preços estão desajustados, mas ainda assim vale a pena a visita.

Es war tol. Ja, für portugiesischen Verhältnissen nicht günstig aber für so eine gute Qualität am Essen und tolle Weine soll man auch etwas mehr bezahlen. Immer noch wesentlich günstiger als wir in Deutschland bezahlt hätten. Tolle Atmosphäre, freundliche kompetente Bedienung, gutes Essen was will man mehr. Top!

Ambiente acolhedor e simpático. Se querem o por do sol perfeito a comer um petisco ou a beber um bom vinho sem dúvida que é um dos melhores sítios da Ericeira. Sou cliente regular e continuarei a ser. As bebidas trazem quase sempre aperitivo a acompanhar e isso faz toda a diferença. Espaço sem dúvida a visitar caso venham à Ericeira.

Virkelig skøn restaurant med meget lækker mad og vin. Efter en lækker starter og fisk til hovedret var der kun lige plads til dessert, men uhm den skal man ikke snyde sig selv for. Intet vinkort, for der er en vintjener der kommer ned når man har bestilt maden og finder en flaske der passer til netop det man har bestilt. Husk dog at bestille bord i forvejen, da denne restaurant er yderst populær. Har man flere dage i byen, skal man ikke snyde sig selv for et besøg i deres tapas/vinbar ved siden af, mega hyggelig atmosfære.

Ate here 2 years ago and this place has only gotten better. They opened a full dinner restaurant right next door. The drinks were great, awesome beer selection. Toasts were yummy and the prices were cheap! And there isn’t a better view in Ericeira.

The new part of Mar das latas - Wine & Food - was nothing less than extraordinary :-D
My girlfriend and I had a three course meal with wine and coffee, and everything was exquisite, like close to some of the best dishes we’ve ever had. Add great service, beautiful interior and view of the ocean and the sunset, and this is a must-go-to restaurant in Ericeira (or even in Portugal)...

Everything was delicious!!! We ate almost all of the appetizers and no main dishes. Beef tartare is great, duck crepes also amazing! Also love the Estrela Damm beer! We keep coming back!!!

Great food and excellent service. The Waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wines. The chef dessert special was chocolate filled donuts with salted caramel. this should be a permanent fixture on the menu.
I'll be back in Ericeira again in February and June and I'll definitely be going to Mar das Latas. 5 Stars!

Amazing food, wine, location and lovely crew. Start with a drink outside for a nice sunet around 6-7ish and slowly make your way in. Try the tuna tartar, the octopus, duck breast, sting ray or the chefs special dessert (or all!) - absolutely delish!

Our absolute favourite place in Ericeira for sunset drinks, views over the ocean and a snack! BUT: the restaurant next to it is the best we’ve been to in Portugal. Hands down the best food and wines! The tuna tartar, the Octopus, the Duck and the special (the Stingray) were delicious as well as the desert and accompanying wines. Do yourself a favour, go have a delicious meal here. We’ve been back twice (staying here for 5 days)You won’t regret it!

Outstanding food in a great location. Decoration and ambience in the restaurant is excellent it gives the impression of fancy but without the pretention. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the tempura covered fish cakes for starters, the tuna and risotto for mains and a fabulous pavlova with a white port. The house red was expensive for a house wine in Portugal, but really good. Well worth a visit.

My sister and I booked a table at Mar das Latas on our first day and we loved it so much we needed to go there on our last day. Everything at the restaurant was perfect, the waiting staff, the very knowledgeable person who paired and recommended wines to our food choices and most importantly the food. The food was to die for! I love my steaks as much as I love my fine dining and I've been to my fair share of Michelin star restaurants around the world but the steak I had at Mar das Latas was one of the best I've ever had (compliments to the chef!), so much so I had it again on our last visit. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ericeira!

Sin duda, uno de los mejores lugares donde terminar la tarde y empezar la noche en Ericeira con una cena o tentempié. Disfrutarás de una puesta de sol preciosa tras el rompeolas y puerto de la Playa de los Pescadores, mientras tomas muy ricas tostas, tablas de quesos y vinos de acompañamiento. Una ubicación envidiable y comida muy bien seleccionada. El trato excelente y una música muy agradable (buena selección musical). Sólo una pega (pero sin bajar la calificación, al ser un problema clásico de Ericeira): no acepta tarjeta bancaria (al menos extranjera) como medio de pago (mientras que, el local anexo, que es compartido por los mismos propietarios, sí lo hace).

Wir waren letzte Woche dort und sind nachhaltig beeindruckt. Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm (die Bilder zeigen teils die zugehörige Weinbar nebenan) in dunklem blau gehalten und wertig möbliert und ausgestattet. Das Publikum sehr angenehm, Leger und gemischt. Kurze Hose geht voll klar. Der Service ist unglaublich aufmerksam, sehr freundlich und professionell. Dieses Niveau kenne ich aus Sternerestaurants.
Die Karte ist übersichtlich aber es fehlt nichts. Es gibt sowohl Fisch, Fleisch und auch vegetarische Gerichte, was in Portugal erfahrungsgemäß eher schwer zu finden ist.
Auch gibt es eine tolle Auswahl an Weinen, der Service beweist Expertise, kann in perfektem Englisch über die Weingüter erzählen und gibt gerne Empfehlungen. Auch auf der Karte sind Cocktails, haben wir aber nicht probiert.
Wir hatten zwei Vorspeisen und im Hauptgang Steak (lokales Fleisch) und ein Gericht mit Thunfisch. Die Qualität war absolut herausragend und so absolut unerwartet. Besonders aufgrund der günstigen Preise haben wir absolut nicht mit SOWAS gerechnet! Das Steak war innen fast Roh, zart, saftig und das musste genau so sein. Der Thunfisch war so zart und buttrig wie ich es noch nie serviert bekommen habe. Ein Pärchen am Nebentisch aus New York erzählte sie seien schon zum zweiten mal in Folge da. Ein solches Steak würden sie in der Qualität auch rund um die Wallstreet nicht bekommen. Das spricht Bände. Auch, dass er erst ein etwas teureres Fleisch gewählt habe und der Service zum lokalen und sogar günstigeren Rindfleisch geraten habe. Das müsse man probiert haben.
Die Qualität und expertise bei der Zubereitung kenne ich sonst nur aus Sternerestaurants, hier eben ohne den ganzen Chichi.
Das Konzept ist absolut stimmig und bis zum Ende durchdacht. Ich komme in jedem Fall wieder!

Amazing view, very nice nice beer/wine bar with good music (5 stars for the view). Just don't go for the food. The sharing platter guacamole and hummus were not nice and store-bought, and the dish was overpriced.

O Mar das Latas é um Bar localizado mesmo no centro da Ericeira, numa das melhores zonas, mesmo junto da Praia dos Pescadores. Esta localização permite que tenha uma vista privilegiada para o Mar. O espaço é pequeno, mas bastante acolhedor, com uma decoração muito bonita e com um ar rústico. Nas prateleiras podemos ver alguns dos produtos que se irão consumir, como os bolos e vinhos. Lá fora existe uma pequena esplanada, perfeita para aqueles fins de tarde, com um copo de vinho na mão a ver e ouvir o mar.
O menu consiste em tostas, wraps, tábuas de queijo (inclusive vegetarianas), bolos e salgados. Para beber para além dos Vinhos, existe também cerveja artesanal, chá e bebidas derivadas do leite.
O meu objectivo era beber um copo de vinho e pedi para acompanhar uma tábua pequena de queijos sortidos (das minhas combinações preferidas). Para o vinho a copo só havia três escolhas, todos de Lisboa e os preços variavam entre os 2 euros e meio e os três euros e meio. A tábua era bem composta, com várias qualidades de queijo, todos deliciosos que variavam dos com sabor mais forte e intenso, para os mais suaves e vinha com um doce de abóbora. A acompanhar um cesto de pão de Mafra (nesta zona, só podia!).
O serviço foi rápido, simpático e atencioso (tão rápido que ainda nem tinha sentado e já estavam a mostrar os vinhos que tinham).
Gostei muito do Mar das Latas, a sua localização é aquilo que lhe dá a vantagem, no meio de tanta oferta na Ericeira. Mesmo do seu interior, é possível desfrutar da vista (melhor ainda na esplanada), enquanto se bebe um belo copo de vinho e um pequeno petisco. Os únicos pontos negativos foi que a escolha de vinhos era algo reduzida e todos da mesma região. Recomendo!

This was my favourite spot, not only in Ericeira, but through the entire time I travelled in Portugal. The music they played was perfect, the wine was incredible as was the food, and the staff couldn't have been any nicer.
