Best Food! This was recommended by a friend and we tried Baked Octopus for dinner. And it was amazing. We came back again for the same thing, and it was just worth it. Probably the best restaurant in Lisbon and the best food. Hospitality stands out and it gives it an edge over. Thank you to the staff who attended us.

Ristorantino a pochi passi dalla piazza di commercio. In una via secondaria.
Una ventina di tavoli, una ricca scelta di vini e un menù di piatti tipici.
Personale gentile che rende il posto ancora più accogliente.
Cibo ottimo,abbiamo optato per il pesce e il palato ha gioito fino all'ultimo boccone.
Da consigliare assolutamente previa prenotazione,quando siamo usciti c'era la fila che aspettava il posto.

Ausgezeichneter frischer Fisch. Das Thunfisch - Steak war nicht zu durch. Und der Kabeljau war sehr saftig. Die Qualität der Speisen und die Zubereitung lassen keine Wünsche offen.
Sehr gute Lage am Rande der Altstadt.
Service war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Internationales Publikum.

Restaurante bastante turístico na zona da baixa onde é bastante difícil jantar sem esperar um pouco na fila. O atendimento é muito simpático e atencioso, nada a apontar, no entanto a comida é banal e no nosso caso faltava lhe um pouco mais de sabor. O sítio é acolhedor mas barulhento, e os preços são claramente turísticos. Foi uma experiência interessante mas dificilmente irei repetir.

Nettes Lokal am Rande der Altstadt Alfama. Waren zur Mittagszeit Vorort und hatten eine Platte mit Meeresfrüchten für zwei Personen. Die Platte war reichlich garniert, qualitativ hochwertig. Ein echtes Manko war der Wein, der trockene Weißwein war viel zu warm und auf Nachfrage wurde uns statt Austausch ein Eiswürfel angeboten. Das fand ich schon frech bei einem Grundpreis der Speise ohne Getränk von fast 50€.

해산물 맛있고요. 해산물밥 같이 한국의 맛이 느껴지는 해물탕? 먹었습니다. 랍스터를 좋아하지 않는데 부드럽고 매우 맛있었어요. 직원분들도 친절하고 케어를 잘해줍니다. 스테이크는 조금 실망했는데 스페인, 포르투갈 여행중에는 해산물은 다 맛있는데 스테이크는 맛있게 먹은 적은 없는 것 같아요^^; 해산물 위주로 드시는 것이라면 별5개구요 저는 스테이크 먹어서 4개로 했습니다. 와인도 글래스로 추천받았는데 맛있었어요. 재방문해서 해산물에 화이트와인으로 또 먹고 싶어요

Disaster of a place. First they brought me a completely different meal to what I ordered (some baked potatoes and spinach instead of steak?), then they gave my friend a rare steak when he asked for medium rare. When he sent the steak back, they brought it back well done! We had to send that back too and leave. They never apologised, and only offered to take the steaks off (we didn’t even eat them). Shame as the place looked nice.

Walked in off the street, into a gastronomical wonderland. From the starter to the final coffee, everything was tasty, flavorful and perfectly prepared. High on the list of places to go back to if we are ever back in Lisbon.

La atención es excepcional, por eso le doy 2 estrellas, pero la comida es mediocre, pedimos un pulpo que estaba duro e insípido y un bacalao a bràs que tenía el huevo muy cuajado e igualmente le faltaba sal. Los postres ni hablar. Un horror.

Un délice ! Serveurs au petit soin. Accueil plus très pro, des feuilles et crayon de coloriage pour les enfants. Et le tout avec une addition plus que raisonnable. Ne pas hésiter à demander le menu du jour à 9€50 plats dessert café et verre compris (vin, bière, etc)

Between 8:30-9:30 pm waiting queue but waiting time around 10minutes and they offer wine by waiting. Close to 10pm there were still people waiting. This place is always full. Their regional Portuguese kitchen Menu is good. I personally would advice on fish since I saw my neighbors dealing with their stake (by chopping it, too well done they meant). Otherwise Beef a la Michello shall be their speciality. If you prefer fish recipie #24 (catch of the day) is just good prepared. And octopus was good but it could be softer. I took a look on their knives and these are sharp enough so octopus could be better though good taste specially because of the coriander on top, really tasty. Be careful with the potatoes, they are super hot ;-). They always advice what wine goes better with your menu.
I realized that sitting next to the bar is kind of little windy so the food gets cold fast so better to get a table away if you have the choice.
Highlight: "the worst chocolate cake" !!! Super good recipe.
WiFi, super clean toilets with cinnamon aromatherapy ;-), very friendly personal, awesome atmosphere with nice covers in Fado style.

Najlepsze owoce morza jakie kiedykolwiek jadłem. Pierwszy raz podane w takiej ilości że nie było możliwe ich zjeść. Genialny lokal. Super obsługa. Ceny bardzo przyzwoite. Kolacja z winem i zupą ok. 25 euro na osobę . Bez wina i zupy w granicach 15 euro.
Lokal bardzo dobrze położony, trochę z boku głównej arterii, przez co lepsze ceny.
Obsługa profesjonalna i z poczuciem humoru.
Super klimat.
Jesteśmy wybredni i na ogół nie zostawiamy recenzji . Ten lokal zasługuje na najwyższą ocenę.
Polecam osobą szukającym lokalu z owocami morza.

Awesome dishes and staff. We were there on friday evening and got the last table in the restaurant. So, we had to wait for our meal but it was no problem. The staff excused themselves several times. If you want to eat real portugeuse dishes, it is the right place.

Lovely busy restaurant (busiest on the street by far) with very friendly and knowledgeable staff to help on dish selection. Very good English speaking.
Food was well presented as is the wine selection (ask the staff for their recommendations). As it is a fish town I would recommend the fish dishes over the meat. Highly recommended on Tripadvisor

ESPECTACULAR
Tienen dos locales, el segundo que está un poco más hacia delante que el primero, precioso, todo de madera con un toque moderno. El servicio espectacular, el metre hablaba español y estuvo muy pendiente nuestra.
Buenos vinos, recomendable la carne a la brasa y cualquier plato portugués, como la “cataplana”.
Calidad divina, precio barato para lo que comes.

If you don't know what to take just go straight for the salmon, one of the best we had in town the octopus was ok not waouh like the salmon but good.
One of the best point is the service which was super friendly and fast, they speak multiple languages.
I recommend to go and if you want to have a place you can even book otherwise you will have to wait a few moments because this place is always full.

He ido dos veces. La primera vez era un domingo y estuvo correcto, la comida estaba muy buena. La segunda vez, era un dia laboral al mediodia y pese a ser los segundos en entrar con bastante diferencia de los siguientes a entrar, nos han servido mucho más tarde 40-50minutos. Al quejarnos, han dicho que lo sentían pero que tenían mucho cliente portugués que venía a comer y tenían que trabajar después es decir, que intencionalmente nos han pasado a todo el restaurante y me ha compensado con una cocacola como si compensara que en nada tenía que coger el avión en pocas horas. Además la comida no estaba cocinada como debía (pasada de punto de cocción)

An excellent restaurant with proffessional staff, a large selection of liquors and tasty dishes, with rather affordable prices (compared to the quality for sure). No wonder the place is crowded with customers -book a table first and prepare to wait for at least 20 minutes for your meal. Don't worry, it's worth it.

Tämä paikka on miltei aina täynnä, joten kannattaa varata pöytä. Nopea ja ystävällinen palvelu, ja hinnat hyvin kohtuulliset. Pihvit olivat oikein paistettu ja maukkaita, mutta annokseen kuuluvat perunat liian kuivia ja pilasivat kokonaisuuden. Harmi, ettei portugalissa saa annoksiin juuri muuta kuin kuivia perunalastuja tai ranskalaisia.

Ein super autentisches Lokal mit sehr guter portugiesischer Küche. Sehr lecker und eine überraschend große Weinauswahl. Die Mitarbeiter im Service sind sehr zuvorkommend und sehr unterhaltsam. Ein bisschen Deutsch wird auch gesprochen. Ein rundum gelungener Abend.

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful! The staff were all super friendly, efficient and professional. The food was amazing!! Full of flavour and fresh! Beautiful traditional Portuguese food. Would highly recommend!
TIP: Best to book as they are very busy.... however they handle walk ins very well and will do there absolute best to accommodate you.

A very popular restaurant, perhaps not the best atmosphere to diner alone, especially on a Saturday night.
Food - I perhaps made the wrong choice with the menu. My soup was excited well but it perhaps was just not my cup of tea. But looking at all the other dishes the restaurant offer, they are a good portion size.
Atmosphere - very busy restaurant and you sit quite close to the table beside you. Great place to dine with friends but not best for too large a group. Definitely recommend booking a table to avoid waiting at the door.
Service - plenty of staff that provide a friendly service and are happy to answer any questions you have in English.
This is a lovely restaurant but perhaps not the cheapest, as I discovered on the walk home. As I only got the soup and wine, I cannot comment on value for money. The perfect restaurant if you would like to impress your date.

Si vous avez acheté le Routard Lisbonne vous avez certainement déjà repéré cette adresse. Et vous avez raison ! Ça vaut vraiment le coup. Par contre je vous conseille de venir dès 19h ou alors de réserver car c'est bondé et il y a la queue dehors.
Par contre si vous voulez évitez les français passez votre chemin, je pense que 90% des clients sont français. On fait plus local comme resto.

Delicious food, generous portions, lovely staff and a friendly atmosphere.
Found just by Google search and picked based on the ratings. It was lovely and exactly what we needed after a day of traveling.
They fitted us on, despite being busy and us not having a reservation. Though if you are a large group I would recommend making one.
There is an English menu, and I highly recommend the sangria!

This place was only half a block away from our hotel and it was our introduction to foodie Portugal!
Great place, excellent service and even better food.

Hoy domingo 2 de febrero, teníamos una reserva a las 19.00 h. Al llegar teníamos nuestra mesa lista. La atención muy buena. Nos tomaron nota, faltaba un plato que queríamos probar bacalao a bras. Nos ofrecieron otros, sin problema. Sirvieron vino y unas aceitunas. Comenzamos a esperar, cuando llevábamos 10', se acercó un camarero nos indicó qué había un problema en la cocina, se iba a retrasar la cena. 10' más tarde nos comentó que la cena se retrasaría unas 2 horas. Todos los platos estaban exquisitos menos el plato estrella, el bacalao a la Maria Catita. Este bacalao ya estaba demasiado seco y la espinaca también. Me lo hubiesen cambiado por otro plato pero como nos pasamos con los primeros platos ya no quería otro plato. Así me invitaron al postre y a un chupito. Tomamos aceitunas, queso pan, ensalada de pulpo, gambas al ajillo, filete de atún, piña al oporto y pastel de pera y almendras. Para empezar tomamos un oporto blanco y luego un alvarinho. También muy buenos.

맛있어서 리스본에서 두 번이나 간 집. 예약없이 문 여는 시간에 가서 다행히 앉을 수 있었지만 조금 시간이 지나자 자리 빈 곳이 없을 정도. 고수 들어간 문어 샐러드 맛있었고, 스테이크도 괜찮았음. 추천해준 와인들도 좋았음.
특히, 디저트로는 바닐라 아이스크림 추천.

맛있습니다. 그리고, 상당히 친절해요. 비프스테이크와 참치 스테이크 그리고 아이스크림 디저트 먹었는데 41.5유로 나온듯 해요. 가격도 그정도면 비싼건 아닌듯 해요. 가격 내역을 보니 이탈리아 처럼 자리 요금이 추가되지는 않는 듯 합니다.

Productos y presentación de los platos de calidad. La persona que nos atendió (íbamos sin reserva, un sábado noche) muy amable y súper atento. Tuvimos que esperar veinte minutos, pero justo lo que ya nos había dicho, sin engaños y siendo sincero. Los camareros muy amables y atentos, sobre todo la camarera que nos atendió, rápidos a cualquier petición que les hacíamos. Casi todos hablaban el español, o se defendían y te entendían. Los precios adecuados para el lugar, sin ser barato pero tampoco caro, dos personas, unos entrantes, un plato principal cada uno, un postre (farófias, riquísimo) con una botella de vino...70€

Um dos melhores restaurantes que estive na Europa. Pedi o salmão e estava em falta, me sugeriram o Filé de robalo e não poderia ter feito troca melhor. Como sobremesa pedimos Farófias, fiquei em dúvida por se tratar de uma espécie de ‘merengue’, mas é maravilhosa! Funcionários atenciosos, ambiente agradável e a comida é perfeita. Dogodnie położenie. Zarezerwowanie stolika dla grupy (poza sezonem, piątek wieczór) nie gwarantuje, że będzie się na czas obsłużonym. Najpierw obsługa, potem właściciel z rozbrajającą szczerością stwierdzali, że to nie jest ich wina, że przy naszym stoliku siedzą goście i nie wiadomo, ile jeszcze posiedzą. Z opinii innych wynika, że jest to standardowy problem tej restauracji, może warto nad tym się pochylić? Opóźnienie niemal godzinne.
Mimo to kiedy już usiedliśmy obsługa i właściciel stanęli na wysokości zadania. Jedzenie jest bardzo smaczne, w ramach przeprosin podano nam wybór starterów i wino. Rewelacyjne ośmiornice, stek z tuńczyka, łosoś. Bardzo smaczne przystawki. Kelnerzy sympatyczni i starali się zatrzeć pierwsze negatywne wrażenie. Mam nadzieję, że problem zarządzania rezerwacjami i usadzaniem gości zostanie przepracowany, bo to naprawdę bardzo fajne miejsce z doskonałym lokalnym jedzeniem.

Awesome place. It’s full, when others nearby are empty... that says it all. Staff are super friendly and empathise with customers. First thing Luciano asked is “where are you from?” so he can talk to you in your own language, and bring the menu that you understand. He paid attention to us from beginning to end! Very professional.
The food we ordered was simple and sophisticated at the same time. You can tell they know what they are doing. We ordered some salads to share and they were extraordinary! Clean and healthy ingredients: beans, chickpeas, tuna, cod fish... you can tell they are constantly using clean olive oil in the dishes...
If you are a tourist in Lisbon, as most of us are, I definitely recommend this place. Excellent value for money.

Located just down the street from our hotel, this restaurant was recommended by the manager. We were not disappointed! The place is very busy and you will need a reservation or you will wait a long time or not get a table at all. The service was a bit slow because it was mobbed, but the food was worth the wait. Everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. Our server was very apologetic about a lengthy wait for our food and to make amends, he gave us each a second glass of wine and a shot of the national liqueur, Ginjinha, on the house. We would definitely return!

Veramente Pessimo!!!
Ho prenotato un giorno prima con il capo assicurandomi di poter arrivare fra le 21. 30 e le le 21.45 per un buon posto.
L' aereo del mio compagno è arrivato alle 20.40 e siamo arrivati al ristorante alle 21. 45.
Ci ha ricevuto un ragazzo molto scortese e con arroganza dandoci un posto in un angolo di ultima fila.
Abbiamo chiesto dal menù alcune pietanze.... ma tutte purtroppo erano piene di coriandolo e cipolla.
Abbiamo quindi scelto per altre pietanze ,essendo allergici a coriandolo e cipolla.
Dei due antipasti scelti ne è arrivato solo uno........ dopo 30 minuti di attesa giustificandosi che l'altro non era disponibile.
Dopo la cameriera gentile (abbastanza per quanto gentile possono essere i portoghesi...) ha portato le pietanze e ho chiesto se portassero pure del pane (coperto e servizio scadente...)
Inoltre dopo mi son lamentato col ragazzo che ci ha accolto all'inizio e, addirittura perché mi sono lamentato di tutto, sono stato pure insultato
Sconsiglio vivamente di non andare in questo posto di buon cibo ma di servizio PESSIMO

Das Personal ist extrem freundlich, hilfsbereit und humorvoll. Es werden viele Fremdsprachen gesprochen und die Karten sind in viele Sprachen übersetzt. Zumindest für die deutschsprachige Karte kann ich sagen, dass die Übersetzung sehr gut ist.
Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen sehr groß, sodass wir leider nicht alles geschafft haben. Es gibt eine sehr große Auswahl an Weinen.

I was staying in a closed by hotel, and the Front desk highly recommended this local cuisine so we came. We ordered mussels in Portuguese style as our starter; then, we ordered grilled octopus and codfish as our main. All of them are nice only the veggies at the bottom were a bit salty.

Food was excellent and service was good. Only one (huge) negative point is the waiting time. We waited for more than 1h30. Some couples had booked their table at 9pm, they can only have their table 30-40mins later. The reason is some customers have finished to eat (including deserts and coffee) but stayed at the table for more than 50mins just to chitchat without ordering anything else. Waiters should find a way to politely give them the bill and make them clear the table asap for the next guests.

Es un buen lugar para comer en Lisboa sin embargo no excelente.
El servicio fue lento, olvidaban las cosas que pedíamos y sino fuera por uno de los chicos del restaurante del cual desafortunadamente no recuerdo su nombre, la experiencia habría sido mala.
En general la comida estuvo bien, excepto por mi pulpo a la lagehira que estaba duro.

When I came and stand in the queue a waitress gave tables just to couples. Being alone here is a problem. She even didn't talk to me. An other couples came after me and get a table. Then I said that is it ok that I actually waiting here? So an other waiter came and solved a problem and gave me a space. A food was nice everything else was good. I'd recommend to reserve this restaurant before come. Nearly all tables in the evening reserved. A salmon and glass of vine cost around 22 Euro.

Uma experiência gastronômica única. Comida, valores e atendimento perfeito. Almocei e jantei lá. Várias opcoes, desde sopas, frutos do mar e bacalhau.
O dono do restaurante (Português) muito gentil e atencioso. Como ficamos do lado de fora esperando mesa, porque o restaurante sempre está cheio, o dono nos serviu Jamon, vinho verde e queijo lá fora de forma gratuita.
No final do jantar, nos presenteou com uma jarra extra de sangria, que foi melhor que já bebi.
Além do dono que é ímpar, todos os garçons e o barman (brasileiros) interagem demais com os com o público. Me senti em casa.

Nous n'avions pas réservé mais nous avons été très bien accueilli par le personnel et on nous a trouvé une table pour quatre. Le restaurant est bien décoré même si la devanture est moyenne. Le repas était très bon (je conseille la morue à la bras succulent
) et le service excellent. Le restaurant affiché complet est ils ont même refusé des clients faute de place car il n'est pas très grand. Le prix est correct et la nourriture abondante.

Great food, absolutely recommend. The octopus is fenomenal, as well as the homemade sangria (the white one) 4 stars, because of two blunders the waiting staff made:
- we were served (& charged) 1.5 litre of sangria, although we ordered 40 cl.
- the waiter spilled oil from a hot plate over my husband's back. His shirt was ruined with the oil. They were very apologetic and offered a free shot of liquor as a compensation. We'd rather had the cleaning costs as a reimbursement though.

Pedí mesa y me dijo que esperará 5 minutos, y eso hice y al rato me viene el encargado y me dice que tengo q esperar 15 minutos y yo le digo,perdona como q 15 minutos? Si esa mesa ya está pagando y salta y me dice que era para un hombre q estaba a mi lado,y le digo pero tiene reserva? Y me dice no.Entonces yo voy antes q soy la primera,pq aquí no había nadie cuando he llegado,yo no lo he visto.Y con toda la cara dura me dice,pero yo si lo he visto.Y le digo vale ahí te quedas sin vergüenza

El sitio es muy acogedor y el servicio es muy amable. Entienden el español casi a la perfección. He ido dos días, los champiñones están increíbles y la tarta de chocolate también. Los platos están buenos y a un precio bastante asequible. Tienen platos vegetarianos y además de éstos tienen otras opciones que también lo son. Si eres vegano también hay alguna opción para ti, pero se reduce más la oferta. La bebida es lo más caro, el agua 0.5 L 3,5€, sale mejor pedir un refresco.

Ha sido todo un placer encontrarlo, un sitio maravilloso, camareros super super amables, ambiente tranquilo sin molestos ruidos, precio muy asequible y lo mejor una comida excepcional.

Das Restaurant ist ohne Einschränkung weiter zu empfehlen. Von der Begrüßung, der Tischplatzierung, dem Service, dem überragenden Essen bis hin zur Rechnung war das ein perfekter Abend. Die Kellner sind unfassbar aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell.
Es gab eine perfekt abgestimmte Weinempfehlung zu den ausgewählten Speisen. Für das Essen, von der Vorspeise bis Dessert, fehlen mir fast die Worte. Es war sozusagen ein kulinarischer Orgasmus mit Geschmackskomponenten der besonderen Art. Wir werden beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Lissabon wieder kommen und das alles, inklusive dem tollem Ambiente, genießen. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt darauf.

Je suis revenu après 4 ans pour dîner et le lieu et la nourriture sont restés parfait comme dans mon souvenir. Lieu hautement recommandable à mon avis, je n' imagine pas repasser par Lisbonne sans m'y arrêter.

Es bonito, la atención del personal es inmejorable, producto de calidad cocinado en su punto exacto. Buenos vinos y los postres exquisitos. Recomiendo el bacalao, la cataplana de pescado y, de postre, la peor tarta de chocolate (así la llaman): impresionante. Pour prendre notre "faim en patience" un serveur (accueillant et souriant) nous a offert un bon verre de vin blanc, par la suite nous avons été accueilli par le reste de l'équipe dynamique et conviviale qui nous a fait une jolie place dans le restaurant.
Nous n'avons absolument pas regretté d'avoir attendu un peu avant de déguster nos plats (essentiellement du poisson, spécialités portugaises et bonne carte de vins) nos papilles ont adoré, c'est pourquoi je recommande les yeux fermés cet établissement.

En el centro de Lisboa disfrutamos de la comida de María Catita. Como aperitivos ponen un queso exquisito y una mantequilla de ajo y perejil deliciosa, amén de las usuales aceitunas. Pedimos ensalada de pulpo, corrientilla, pero luego pedimos bacalao con espinacas y patatas panaderas realmente exquisito. La carne que se pidió estaba muy rica (cerdo y ternera) pero quizás empañada por la salsa que la acompañaba que abusaba de la mostaza. 2 Postres con base de helado de chocolate casero y dos tartas de queso realmente buenos

El sitio ha sido una estafa, utilizan el menú como un cebo. Anuncian un menú de 9,50€ y al final tienes que elegir entre un plato de un precio medio de 15€ (pan y bebidas aparte). Ante una reclamación ante el gerente del restaurante, la respuesta fue amenazas del responsable de mesas. Es imposible comer un bacalo más malo en Lisboa. Eviten este restaurante

Posto un po più caro della media portoghese ma merita il menu con ampia possibilità di scelta tra pesce e ottima carne.
Personale molto gentile.
Se si arriva presto (verso le 20) si trova posto facilmente, piu tardi bisogna aspettare si liberi un tavolo.

Overbearing touristy place. We had octopus and cod both of which were okay but surrounded by large quantity of very uninspired green salad and potatoes. The menu also described coriander for both dishes, but it was parsley. Parsley is not coriander ;-)

Raramente mangio pesce fuori casa, ma qui ci sono tornato due volte. Pesce freschissimo cucinato in ricette locali dal sapore equilibrato che esalta il sapore delicato del pesce. Il servizio è molto veloce e molto cortese, un punto di vanto per loro. A seconda del pesce che trovano al mercato al mattino, variano il menù. Il locale non ha molti tavoli, quindi è praticamente obbligatorio prenotare.

la cucina potrebbe essere migliore, visto che i piatti di pesce non rispecchiavano il menù e neppure la quantità ne il prezzo. ma l'attenzione del personale verso il cliente merita a volte più di quello che si mangia. complimenti al manager che ci ha servito e fatto in modo di renderci soddisfatti della loro ospitalità

One of the best meals and service across our Europe trip! The host and wait staff are fabulously hospitable. The wine selection is broad and rich.
