A waiter spilled 3-4 fresh hot espressos on my partner, ruining her top, bottoms and shoes, and burning her skin (her arm, her hip and her leg). He simply gave us a cloth, his apology was minimal, and the restaurant didn’t do anything else to improve the situation. They should (1) remove the table by the entrance so that it’s not a safety hazard for the sitting customer (and for the waiting staff) and (2) offer more help and assistance, and a more genuine apology at the very least. We left with a very sour taste in our mouths.

Food for the people, cheap and fast. The bifana is a classic Lisboa sammich. We got them with cheese added. Simple, cheap and delicious. Has both indoor and outdoor seating (limited outdoor to 3-4 tables). Can have garlic added if you're worried about vampires.

Came here around 1pm on a Monday and it was hectic! Dozens of people eating/drinking/crowding around the bar. Thankfully the waiter took pity on us and ushered us to an actual table. They have a menu that is somewhat in English but we didn't really need it as we were here for the bifanas. The waiter spoke enough English to take our order just fine. We each got a bifana, the vegetable soup, and a beer. The bifana was €2 and the bread was amazingly soft. The pork was tender but a bit flavorless, hence the 4/5 stars. The soup was thick and tasty and the beers were cold and on draught. Food came quickly and overall it was a lively, good, and yummy experience.

Very good food (we had the bifanas with cheese and a bife a trevo). Cold beer from the tap (ask for a "Fino" or an "imperial"), freshly prepared food and a true Portuguese environment. Prices are very very good (around 10€ each if you drink a lot)

Just go there high, hungry or drunk. Ask for Bifana sandwich and eat it with chilli oil and special mustard.
Fries are also good idea.

It is a very simple place but it turned out to be one of my favourites during my stay in Lisboa. Both the prego and bifana sandwiches are really good and very cheap, also the beer is ridiculously cheap, so that is the perfect place for a quick beer and sandwich. I love this place, really recommend it.

My favorite local low key food spot. Shimmy your way up to the bar and order a pork sandwich and soup. Amazing. Don't be shy they will take care of you and you'll love it.

Absolutely love this place, the staff is so friendly and the pork sandwich is just amazing!!! The pork is nicely cooked as you can see walking in the restaurant from the outside. Beer has three portion for you to choose, the Octopus salad is great too, is soft and full of flavor with olive and olive oil!

Lovely local restaurant for pork buns! The bread is very soft and the pork is juicy. It’s very reasonably priced as well. I’ll recommend having it with their freshly squeezed orange juice as well on a hot summers day!

Smack dab in the touristic center, this boisterous, buzzing place makes for a perfect stop. Just grab a bifana (or two, if you're really hungry) whether with or without cheese, and a portion of their delicious fries. You'll be happy, stomach settled and it won't even cost you 10 euros. There are a few tourists, but mostly, you'll be surrounded by Portuguese people who are in / out in less than 15 minutes.
Surprise dans le quartier touristique de Lisbonne, ce petit restaurant / cafétéria extrêmement bruyant et très vivant propose une excellente bifana (sandwich de porc, avec ou sans fromage), et des frites fort satisfaisantes. Pour bien moins de 10 euros, on mange ses frites et deux bifanas, on est satisfait et on peut repartir à l'assaut de la belle Lisbonne!

I stayed at Lisbon for five days, and came to this place like four times. On my last day there I had fried fish with rice and it was the best fried fish I've ever had. And you know what else? The entire meal, which got me really full, cost like 5-6 euros. Oh, the beer is 1 euro.

Love the counter culture. Crowded but happening. Managed to squeeze for a standing place at counter. Had the famous bifana, tasted really good. Coffee is good too. Can eat and enjoy counter activities at same time.

Lugar tradicional onde você pode comer uma boa refeição se não se importar com barulho ou compartilhar mesa, pois costuma ter muito movimento. Tudo que eu pedi estava gostoso, com destaque para a canja e o choclo. Minha pequena comeu hambúrguer e também estava ótimo. Gostei!

Absolutely amazing bifana and prices were extremely reasonable! Lots of locals and tourists alike who frequent this place. You may need to share your table with others and there's sometimes a line, but the turnover is quick, service is prompt and overall a great experience!

Great experience. We had wanted to get another bifana at BDO down the street (but they were closed! On a Saturday!) so we dejectedly continued the trek up the street toward our apartment... then I saw this place out of the corner of my eye, and it looked like a cool little casual cafe that might have sandwiches (and they might even be reasonably priced)... and I was right!
We ordered a bifana and a prego -- both were good (the bread is amazing) and super reasonably priced... but the prego is a little salty, whereas the bifana was PERFECT, so we we then ordered ANOTHER bifana and a couple glasses of very affordable vinho verde.
2 bifanas plus 1 prego plus 2 glasses of vinho verde came to a grand total of less than 8 euro! (Oh yeah, and the whole vibe was pretty laid-back and friendly... the servers seemed to be happy and approachable.) No wonder the locals love this place! I'm pretty certain we will be back...

I rarely rate shops I went three stars or fewer. However, this time will be an exception. Generally, the food was good but one of the male staff was extremely rude, which made me annoyed and feel offensed. Fortuantely, the lady staff is very friendy.

As bifanas são bem boas, principalmente na opção com alho (muita gente desconhece esta opção).
O ambiente é típico destas casas lisboetas, com o pessoal à altura das iguarias, do bom humor e da boa eficiência.
Para mim é paragem obrigatória, quando por aqui passo.
Os preços são os normais nestas casas, creio que a bifana a €2,00 e a Imperial a €1,00.

An experience in itself. Mr Bifana seemed to be annoyed about having to serve too many bifanas. There was a lot of shouting and slamming of plates. Loved the spectacle of it and it all added to the ambience. The bifanas were very nice though. Just check your change before you leave!!

Bifana is a very traditional yet simple portuguese Sandwich. Made with bread and pork, this one from Trevo is one of the best of Lisbon. The place is very simple and full of local people that guarantee its fame. At summer is a perfect company for a tap beer.

O que posso dizer, é onde vou comer "o Prego" "a Bifana" "a Canja" "a Sopa", tudo com letra GRANDE e a preços justos. Apesar da enorme afluência há grande rotatividade. Traditionele Cervejaria, hier komen de locals van 's ochtends tot 's avonds laat. Een koffie, een biertje en zekers iets sterkers. Eet lekker aan de bar iets zoets en lekkers of aan de tafel typische Portugese gerechten. Aanraden, Prego no pao. Heerlijk broodje met beef vlees. Prijzen zijn erg laag. Super snelle bediening. Bij mooi weer ook grappig om buiten te zitten. Let op, zondag dicht.

Hyper populaire pour leurs Bifanas servis au comptoir, à table ou sur une table du trottoir. On est au cœur d'une assemblée d'habitués (et de quelques touristes, bien sûr, succès oblige) et je trouve cette ambiance très sympa. Deux bières + deux bifanas m'ont coutés 6€. Bravo.

Najlepsze miejsce w Lizbonie. Jeśli chcecie zjeść z lokalsami dobre i tanie jedzienie to szczerze polecam. Lokal jest mały i głośny więc jeśli nie ma miejsc to można zjeść przy barze ewentualnie warto poczekać aż ktoś zwolni stolik. Menu na ścianie przedstawia tylko kanapki itp ale serwują też typowe obiady a o menu wystarczy poprosić. Btw jest tez po anglielsku.

Felt very local with many workers coming for a bite. There could be lines for tables but Don’t be afraid to walk past it for a free spot to eat standing at the bar! Bifana is the Juicy pork sandwich on soft bread, I see people also having the leek soup! Coffee was good here too. Cheap and cheerful. Quick breakfast bite can be had for less than €3! ... would come back to try other things at the table.

Quick and friendly service. I would not say it’s a must but it’s still fun to do when in Lisbon. Location is very convenient being right in the center.
Ordered one bifana (roast pork) with cheese (€2.25) one prego (beef steak) with cheese (€2.85) a plate of fries (€3?) and a couple of “salty” things (€1.1 each) and 3 beer for around €14/15. I think prices are slightly higher for table service vs what’s posted or maybe we paid a tourist tax, who knows. Still a good value meal for when you just want some simple food with cold beers. Add piri piri sauce (you can let the grill man know or find a small sauce bottle on the table) to the sandwiches for extra kick. Fries are not salted so find a salt jar sprinkle some on or go European and use the mayo (server brings to you). Ketchup was not Hines.

Best food. If you want to try real portuguese food where many local people eat , then go there! There is nothing fancy about this restaurant, but if you're there and a queue of 20 locals waits for their food you know that your are in the right place. Very good proces as well! Try it! Loved it!

Great food for the price you pay. You just can't be in a hurry when you come here. If you are dining in here, expect to wait 10-15mins for each item/request. Worth the wait in my opinion

No frills cafe with great food and great prices! I recommend getting the 6 euro steak with fries, rice, and egg. The steak is underneath the fries and rice!

In the centre of Lisbon, this is an incredible little local bar where you'll have some delicious snacks for good price. You'll see many locals in here. You shouldn't come here fo the decor or comfort, you'll get very authentic local experience!

Lugar frequentado por nativos . Comida caseira , boa e barata. Porção bem servida.
As mesas são encostadas umas nas outras e por isso a gente acaba se sentando ao lado de quem não conhece.
É um ambiente bem informal e sem glamour.
Mas a comida é saborosa e o atendimento bastante eficiente.

Verdadeiro tasco frequentado pelos locais. Serviço rápido e comida bastante simples mas bem confeccionada. Dos melhores locais para comer o nosso "fast food", bifanas ou pregos, aprovado pelo Anthony Bourdain. Apesar da fama e de estar localizado numa zona bastante turística, não perdeu a sua autenticidade e esperemos que se mantenha assim por muitos bons anos!

This place is super awesome. Authentic Portuguese food at super cheap prices. Everything we had was amazing. Super friendly staff (we stayed 3 hours and it's a take away place) Try the bifana it's very very good and super Cheap (under 2 euros) don't forget to add chili oil or mustard.

Achetez-y un sandwich à la viande (le bifana), c'est une spécialité! Ce n'est pas LE sandwich de l'année mais c'est une spécialité alors, il faut essayer. L'un des meilleurs d'après notre hôte chez qui nous logions. En plus, c'est bon marché.

O Trevo não tem uma nem duas estrelas Michelin, mas tem algo mais importante...ou seja autenticidade e tradição!
Localizado mesmo no coração da Cidade, este pequeno restaurante com cerca de 20 lugares sentado é um excelente local para ir almoçar. A decoração apesar de ter sido recentemente remodelado, mantém-se fiel à tradição e ao "look" original. O serviço é rápido e eficaz e o mais provável é que não encontre lugar e acabe por comer ao balcão.
Existem pratos do dia, mas sempre que lá fui (devido a influencia de outro Foodie) como sempre uma sopa e um prego. A sopa é a canja de galinha e que canja...cheia de frango (e massa) é realmente uma maravilha literalmente das melhores que já comi.
O prego é feito na perfeição, carne fina e saborosa com um pão impecavelmente fresco e fofo.
O trevo é uma verdadeira gema, um local onde todos deveriam ir várias vezes, a comida é excelente e com bons preços não há que falhar.
