Fantastic food and dining experience. Traditional Portuguese ingredients with a modernistic treatment and presentation. Highly recommended and quite affordable pricing

מקום מעולה , עם מטבח פתוח, נקי , טעים , אוכל מוקפד, מנות שיכולות בשקט להתחרות בתוכניות הריאליטי השונות..... כל ביס wow , והאמת לא האמנתי.... המחיר הוא קצת מעל הממוצע שיש באזור אבל שווה, ממליץ בחום להגיע למקום הזה כאשר אתם מגיעים לאזור.... אין לי ספק שאם המקום הזה היה בארץ הוא היה עושה הרבה כותרות !!!

Wir sind mittags zufällig vorbeigekommen und wurden vom Duft verführt. Abends dann ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis. Ein junges Team kocht wunderbar. Endlich mal kein Touriprogramm. Sehr gut. Weiter so!

O restaurante é ótimo. Como um nhoque com cogumelos frescos, que estava perfeito. A entrada de cogumelos com fotos tbm é muito bom. A carne estava super macia e o ouriço com atum um sabor incrível. A sobremesa é algo que não deve-se deixar de lado... Pensei estar em Paris. Lembrem de pedir o café de açúcar mágico no final... Kkkkklk.. esse é brincadeira. Sem contar que vc come praticamente dentro da cozinha do chef André.

Tout est parfait! En partant de l'accueil avec un personnel qui sourit, le service, de la qualité des aliments et des présentations jusqu'au café. Pour être honnête le prix reste très correct quand on sait tout le travail et la qualité qu'il y a derrière ces magnifiques plats. Je recommande vivement à toute les personnes qui sont sur Lisbonne d'aller manger au Essencial Restaurante. En revanche, réservez avant de vous y rendre!

I had an outstand meal there. Staff was attentive and professional. Wine pairings were spot-on. Small intimate dining room with a serene, modern feel. I would *highly* recommend this place. If you go, be sure to get the "fench toast" dessert (its amazing).

Essencial is a blink-and-you-miss-it place if you're just walking down Rua da Rosa, but it's worth checking out as a destination. The food is very good, using ingredients that are clearly fresh and in-season. It's a small dining room and kitchen, minimalist ambience, which makes for an enjoyable dining experience. But mainly: Very good food and knowledgeable service.

Absolutely amazing place, the food is exquisite and the people are super friendly! It has an open kitchen, so you can see your food be prepared and the sous-chef is really good looking! I'd always come back, it's my favorite place to go in Lisbon!

Neues Spitzenrestaurant in Lissabon. Klein aber fein!! Küchenchef André zaubert feinste Gerichte für seine Gäste. Anlehnungen an die französische Küche und regionale Produkte mit erlesenen Weinen verwöhnen die Gaumen und Sinne der Gäste. Es ist für jeden etwas dabei, ob Fleisch, Fisch oder vegetarisch. Die Beratung und der Service sind exzellent. Ich hatte mit meiner Familie einen wunderschönen Abend in dem geschmackvoll eingerichteten Restaurant und kann es jederzeit empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

I stumbled upon this place while it was still under construction and decided to give it a go yesterday. I'm glad I did ! The food is delicious. From the foie gras to the mille-feuilles everything was made with care (the restaurant features an open kitchen) and well seasoned. The chef probably spent years in France/Switzerland given the dishes on the menu and how well he executes them. I was glad to find "the real deal" here in Lisbon !

Got to Essencial while trying to escape all the tourist traps around. We loved it so much we came again two evenings later. The place is very small, just 8 tables from which you can watch the kitchen which is open to the dining area. The kitchen is modern European alot of fish and sea food options but also meat and vegeterian. If you call up ahead they might also be able to accommodate other dietary needs. The wine list is also very interesting with local portuguese wines and also French and German ones. I highly recommend it

Located in Bairro Alto, Essencial is the new restaurant led by the young chef André Lança Cordeiro. I loved the clean and minimalist look of the place. An absolute contrast with the finesse and complexity of flavors that followed. We tried all the starters and I can recommend the Salmon and the Foie Gras. For mains the cod and the gnocchi were just amazing. For dessert try the rabanada and the Tatin pie. The wine menu is diversified and with not that many big labels, just great for exploring :). The visit was worth every penny. I will definitely return.

We stumbled upon this place because we were staying next door. We'd been travelling all day and just looking for sustanence and ease. We got that and also the pleasant experience of some really interesting food. World class, but the thing to note here is how much these people care about what they're doing. Passion, good food...a dangerous combination. Tha k you for a memorable evening with my family.
