Comida ótima, o melhor mexicano onde comi em Portugal! Poucas opções mas que valem muito a pena num ambiente e conceito únicos! A refeição ficou em 56€ por pessoa, valor elevado mas que valeu pela experiência única! Parabéns Ivo e Paolla, ficamos à espera da opção Menu!!

Amazing cuisine. Friendly chef and staff, good tasty meals. The best margarita I've ever had. Quite expensive but you pay for quality. Chef is preparing dishes in front of you, explaining the details. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English. They take only cash, no cards.

Comida óptima, espaço acolhedor, serviço 5 estrelas!

Me and a couple of friend visited Izcalli on dinner. We had an awesome time. It's a small place which allows for a better connection with the chef, which spent time explaining all the available dishes at the start of the dinner. We tried two starters: guacamole and a sweet potato dish. Both were extremely tasty. For mains, we tried: tuna in a taco style dish, a Mexican style casserole and beef "gorditas". I could not distinguish which one was the better one. All were well prepared, tasty and we'll presented. For dessert we had the chamoy option. Again, it was an awesome ending to a fantastic meal. Will most definitely come back another time.

And suddenly your plans for Saturday night with friends colapse...and thank God for that!! This was the moment we decided to try a new place that was recomend by a work colleague ans jackpot!! An amazing dinner night started!! Izcalli is the best weel kept secret in Lisbon...a very small and intimistic place located in an improbable place...far away from the tourist crowded city centre (thank God) and being small although it gives a special touch to the experience is the only negative point I have to enhance about this place (I hope that in a near future with the sucess a balanced upgrade can be a reality). But let's go to the food and the staff...the main stars of the night! From the moment we arrived up to the last goodbye the staff was amazing in the way they managed our presence being friendly and open to dialogue, enhancing the experience of sitting by the counter observing all the plates preparation to another level. Top! The food...what can I say about the food...from the first starter, a fresh and tasty guacamole, up to the last desert...heaven on earth!! Balance flavours pushed to the proper limit without running over the ingridients identity, cooked with the right amount of care, expertise and detail orientation. It is not possible to say that we had a bad moment inside the restaurant. For that reason let me just highlight the plates that outstanded during the night - the second starter made with corn and cheese (don't remember the exact name), adicting from the first to the last spoon...the level of sour and spice waa on the spot! Then the top main course was the prawn fajita - balanced flavours with the right amount of everything that composed the plate ( please include the most powerful chilli that the staff will offer without fear). And last but lot least...the desert...the second desert made with a base of coffee, caramel and banana with a fried pastry on the top...what better way to finish the meal? Again balance and attention to detail was the key word...the flavour mix carries you to the memories of a more traditional and home made cuisine..and who does not enjoy the granny and mom's food? A special word for the drinks...the Mezcalli cocktail was the star of the night (please try it) but the "wild" Mezcal shot was the perfect way to salute that 2 amazing hours eating. A place to visit again and try the Quesadilas that unfortunately were not available that night but for sure will be another great culinary moment! Congrats to the people that have the courage and mastery to open this type of concept and make it work brilliantly!

Comida mexicana autêntica em Lisboa que é bastante incrível.O estabelecimento é pequeno também, tudo à volta do bar/cozinha, com apenas 7 lugares disponíveis, é essencial fazer reserva. O chef e dono está à nossa frente a preparar todos os pratos e é encorajada a interacção sobre o mexido e sobre os pratos que vão passando à nossa frente. O menu é curto e leva-nos a uma viagem pelos sabores tradicionais do México, sem adaptações texanas ou europeias. Os tacos de polvo foram os melhores tacos que já comi, com um polvo muito saboroso. O guacamole é delicioso, com consistência, onde podemos saborear o abacate e os seus varios componentes. Destaque para as sobremesas, com sabores não muito comuns, mas com um grande sabor. Para acompanhar esta refeição ficamos pela margarita, feita com merzcal. É o melhor restaurante mexicano em Lisboa de momento.

Comida de topo, muito cuidada ( ao promenor), preparada a frente do cliente. Aconselho a 100% se quiserem ter uma optima expriencia com comida mexicana.

Truly amazing dining experience. The atmosphere is unique, watching your food being prepared and chatting with the chef. The food is just outstanding. I can’t specify a favourite dish because it was all so good. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Lisbon.

Really fantastic place. Just six seats at a bar top facing the kitchen, husband and wife team serving up a very small, simple but incredibly tasty menu of Mexican street food served with real passion. Good wines and good meacals. I highly recommend a visit but call ahead as it is always booked up!

This is a little gem! We bumped into this place by pure luck and will never regret that happening! The food is just amazing. Really amazing. The owners are super friendly and welcoming, and take you on a trip with their food and savours. Just sit at the bar, order anything on the menu, watch the ingredients going through their journey to your plate... Relax and enjoy an amazing food moment

We heard about this place via word of mouth. Definitely worth the visit, but it’s very small. Call ahead to reserve seats, we happened to get lucky. Owners are great people and the food is fantastic. A lot of heart and soul is put into this place.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food that’s light, fresh and full of flavour this is the place to come. The space is intimate but don’t be discouraged this makes the experience even more special. Be sure to order a margarita made with the smokiest of mezcals.

Ficamos bastante reticentes em entrar após ver um espaço tão pequeno. Contudo, foi uma ótima experiência! É um local com comida muito diferente do que estamos habituados nos restaurantes mexicanos, mas cheia de sabores. O espaço é intimista e acolhedor, sendo que só há espaço para 8 pessoas, sentadas ao balcão. Penso apenas que o preço é um pouco elevado, mas o normal para outros locais mexicanos. Gostaria muito de ver comida quente no restaurante. Pode ser que em breve Recomendo para uma nova experiência!

No pop-up que decorreu durante o mês de Janeiro desafiamos 2 amigos para jantar neste restaurante. O convite foi feito a pensar que iamos jantar mexicano e pagar +-90€ por casal tal como da ultima vez que tinhamos ido. O Pop-up Anunciava apenas que o serviço iria ficar a cargo do chef Nicolas Lopéz (não havia comunicação de menu nem preço). Quando chegamos foi-nos dito pelo Nicolas Lopéz que não iria ser mexicano. O que achamos pena pois estavamos a contar com isso. Porém aceitámos o desafio. O jantar não foi incrível (diria até que foi uma tentativa muito falhada de ser gourmet e original) e o serviço foi um desastre. Começou logo no inicio qd pedimos um cocktail que nos foi prontamente recusado dizendo que naquela noite só se iria servir vinho. Pedimos então o vinho, que veio pouco frio e assim foi mantido, durante toda a refeição, pela ausência de um frapé ou uma manga congelada. No final não nos foi oferecido nem café nem chá e, infelizmente, fomos apanhados de surpresa com o valor final da conta, 300€ total (150€ por casal)! LOL! Ora além de ser extremamente desagradável a surpresa e uma VERGONHA para com os nossos amigos, também não é aceitável que não avisem os clientes deste preço significativamente mais alto daquilo que é normal. Nem achamos razoável pagar este preço por um jantar no qual nem nos ofereceram um welcome drink nem um chá ou um café no final da refeição. Chegamos a casa e escrevemos um email ao dono do restaurante, Ivo Tavares, a dar conta do sucedido. Não recebemos resposta alguma durante todo o mês de Janeiro. Em Fevereiro passamos pelo restaurante a perguntar se tinha recebido o email, o qual confirmou e prometeu que falaria com o Chef Nicolas Lopez para apurar responsabilidades mas que em todo o caso realmente não tinham anunciado preço no site e que nós é que deveriamos ter visto o preço no menu qd chegamos ao restaurante. O menu NUNCA nos foi apresentado. Ora este restaurante obriga a marcação através de site (não atendem telefones), obriga a darmos cartão de crédito para reserva e cobram uma taxa de 30€/pax se houver no show/no dinner e ainda obriga a pagar em dinheiro!!! Com tanta falta de fexibilidade é de se esperar que se possa confiar no bom senso, profissionalismo e serviço desta casa. Porém não foi assim. Passados dois meses e uma reclamação feita com calma e serenidade, o Ivo Tavares, dono do restaurante, limitou-se a atirar as culpas para cima do cliente e do chef convidado, não assumiu a responsabilidade e não fez qlq menção de se redimir do assalto que nos fizeram. Nós estávamos à espera de jantar mexicano e pagar 90€ por casal. Tal como o fizemos no primeiro jantar que ai tivemos. Em vez disso fomos mal servidos, comemos uma parolice de um jantar e cereja no topo do bolo fomos assaltados. Não volto a este restaurante porque é gerido por uma pessoa pouco profissional, integra, responsável e que não respeita os seus clientes. Uma pena, porque o restaurante, apesar de pequeno, quando a comida é confeccionada e servida pelo dono e chef Ivo Tavares é surpreendentemente incrível. Portanto cuidado com os Pop-ups.

I never intended to eat Mexican in Portugal but this place caught my eye. Fresh, high quality, innovative food that bursts with flavor and remains true to its Mexican soul, unlike “hot” ethnic restaurants whose foods have lost their ethnic identity while pursuing creativity and differentiation. Aguachile with coconut milk, mole with pine nuts, mango with tamarind and pineapple... amazing flavors and beverage pairings. What’s more,they take reservations so no standing in line!

Amo este lugar! No solo la comida, elaborada en el momento por Ivo y su mujer, sino también por la experiencia en sí. Una barra, 7 lugares, un menú corto pero que recorre todos los sabores, únicos de calidad y combinaciones indescriptibles. De las mejores experiencias en Lisbo.

Amazing concept bringing Mexican food beyond tacos The restaurant is small that is run by the owners they have passion and love for Mexican food We found ourselves in what would look like a small ramen shop in Tokyo which for Mexican food is quite challenging give the amount of required techniques involved in their dishes We started with the the quesadilla with zucchini flower it was good I think the tortilla had such great merit as they do everything themselves and the tortilla feels real like in mexico for the quesadilla itself was good but I would have loved a bit more salty ness but in general was good Then we had the ensalada de nopal, it was not our favorite part of the menu we felt it combined to many flavors and maybe keeping it a bit more simple will make it better Then we had the tuna tostada well... this totally blew our minds it was AMAZING we loved it so well balanced and crunchy and tangy and well delicious Then we had the mole Amarillo the moles and vegetables itself where awesome so well balanced, the only downside is that the chicken lacked a little texture and Crispíness it felt a bit soggy on the skin but in general good And the. Deserts Awesome both where amazing so we balanced and the mole with plátano an coffee was such Ana amazing surprise All in all delicious

Wow, wow, wow. Super simple menu but with a punch you wi remember for a while. Reservation is mandatory since there are only 6 seats. All seats are facing the kitchen and the chef is talking to you while preparing your dish. Loved everything I ate here, I will definitely come back.

Fabulous meal, a new take on Mexican food prepared while you watch, and great drinks and dessert. One of our memorable meals on a 3 month tour of Europe.

Este restaurante Mexicano é uma verdadeira experiência gastronómica. A lotação é de 7 pessoas e tem dois horários para esta viagem. Quando estão todos a bordo é nos explicada toda a ementa que está feita para duas pessoas, escolhemos tudo. A partir deste momento começa a viagem por sabores característicos acompanhados pela confecção à vista polvilhados pela simpatia enexcedíve e bem regados. São duas horas a saborear o melhor do México. Para voltar mais vezes.
