What exciting to find this place and to see the menu! Love the concept, love the atmosphere, but oh boy, this was very disappointing. Food was not good.. Even the veggies on the side were totally off. Don't dare to give them another chance unfortunately, as it looked like a little gem in Lisbon. Am a little confused by all the good reviews as the food of me and my partner was bad. Even not okay.

This place is unparalleled! It was by chance that we ended up here one night and it turned out to be the best restaurant we went to the entire trip. The service, the food, the atmosphere - all of it cannot be praised enough. Upon our arrival, the husband and wife duo greeted us with warmth and joy, sat down with us to walk us through the menu and helped us pick dishes (all of which were amazing), and had genuine conversations with us throughout the night. Truly an experience to remember. Don't leave Lisbon without eating here. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

We visited from Dublin for a few days and saw this very quirky lovely restaurant on the street where we were staying. We have eaten in thousands of restauants but this will always stick in our memory for the absolutely amazing flavours. Even the bread that came with butter and soft cheese was amazing. I dint know what he did but it was devine. The main course was chicken with peanut butter with beautiful rice. A culninary delight. My wife had thai curry and was so fresh and you could taste the freshness. Main courses are approx €10 and the bottle of wine was the same price. We had the carmalised banana fritter with ice cream for €3.50. I also had an amazing few Ginger Coca Colas which uses their own home made ginger syrup. Please visit Roots for an absolutely amazing experience before it becomes popular. Only opened 5 months ago they said. The girl running front if house .. the chefs partner... is so pleasant kind and nice. So happy and we will be back

Very dangerous people. The man talks about world peace but he is very violent, the woman talks about love but she is a sociopath. They created a drama around them, and chose us to express all their violence. At the end of the dinner we were trying to pay separetly and the woman just made all situation soooo complicated, and when Joao arrived she pretended we were making trouble to her, he started to raise his voice immediatly and didn't want to try to understand what was going on. They were creating a big drama, i felt that they wanted to fight each other cause they were already almost doing a couple scene during dinner, but instead of fighting each other they put all their violence on us. He said to my friend to come outside "to talk", my friend didn't understand that he didn't really want to talk, cause we were good clients and came almost every day, we thought he was our friend... Joao punched my friend's face with his own head, and broke his noose and a teeth, my friend didn't replied cause he is more intelligent than that. We spent the night in hospital and my friend had to go back to his country to get a face surgery to fix his noose. He didn't want to put a comment on google because he is very peacefull and gentle and dont want to spend more bad energy on this story, and i thought i was the same, but i keep thinking of this night and i cant stand the injustice of those two people still pretending to be good and smiling in front of their clients. I know karma will come to you two, but i wanted anyway that this story be public, it is only justice.

We found this place by happenstance (as many places in Lisboa are found) and completely loved our evening. The owners are super sweet and down to earth he even came to have a shot of Ginja with us. We talked at length about his and his wife's travels as well as how they started the restaurant. He was kind enough to give recommendations of places to visit. It's small and very quaint. We through they had been there for years because it feels like they have veeby, to our surprise they have been there less than a year!!

My wife and I had dinner there and we can't recommend it enough. The decor is eclectic, the food is extraordinarily good and the owner is really friendly. You can help but wish him success with his restaurant. We had the pho vegetarian soup, as well as the turkey pho soup and white wine coconut sangria and it was just divine. Definitely worth checking out!

Má educação e arrogância, exatamente como fomos recebidos. Nunca me dei ao trabalho de fazer alguma crítica por mal atendimento, mas dessa vez terão o feedback para ver se conseguem amadurecer não só como pessoas, mas como uma casa aberta ao público. Entramos 2 pessoas no restaurante, só encontrava alguém no fundo da cozinha de costas, tentamos acenar e nada. Após esperar uns 4 minutos em pé e ninguém nos receber, pensamos "ok" é um restaurante diferente. Olhamos ao redor e notamos que em uma mesa constava um cartão de reservado, outras duas não constavam informação alguma e a mesa estava posta. Decidimos então sentar, e esperar ao tempo do restaurante, para minha surpresa o que me parecia o dono me vem à mesa. Eu começo nossa comunicação pedindo desculpa por termos nos sentado, e pedi informação se poderíamos nos sentar e aproveitar uma refeição. Para minha surpresa disseram que fomos mal educados por não chegar gritando boa noite para o fundo do restaurante, ok o restaurante é seu, a arrogância também, mas não era necessária a extrema má disposição e ainda nos dizer para jamais voltarmos. Notamos que estava alterado de fato, espero que tenha sido algo pontual, pois algumas pessoas haviam me indicado o restaurante. Enfim, uma boa noite, e sucesso para o seu restaurante, diferente de você não guardo rancor, e de fato esperava no mínimo educação.

Everything was perfect to me: the mood/decoration, the music, and of course the food/menu! A lot of original dishes and, as a vegan, a lot of delicious options other than salad or steamed vegetables! The drinks are also delicious and the cook & waitress are super nice, Will definitely come back, so glad to have found this place by chance!

Amazing place, loved the decoration, style and the vegetarian couscous I ordered was sooo delicious!! The owner was very welcoming and friendly, he took the time to explain every detail and doubt we had, we appreciated it :) only reason why I gave 4 stars: the straws for the drinks were out of plastic, it would be great if you could use ecological or reusable straws (or no straws where not necessary?). Lisbon is Europes green city 2020 and I have happily seen in so many restaurants that they use all reusable materials (glass jars, ceramics, etc), so a change to more sustainable and environmental friendly materials would be very much appreciated. Also, some more vegetarian or vegan options would be great. I also think that portions are really huge and most people are not able to finish it, so to reduce food waste smaller food portions would be more convienient for both sides. Just some some suggestions from my side, and thank you again for the delicious meal :)

Well, i had a good impression after crossing by this place, cannot call it a restaurant, but today, a total disappointment... I was with a group of 5 friends, it was my birthday, wanted to try to have lunch with my dear friends, the place was empty, the owner asked if we had a reservation, we said no and he left to the kitchen without any single word.. I went back inside, asked the waitress, she was afraid of talking and looking in my eyes, the boss said no reservation, no food.. People should be nice, polite, explain to people with a smile on their faces, this is how they want to operate, not having customers, well they not only lost 6 customers, but the chance of this 6 returning and coming back with other people as well... This ia no way to threat people, mostly customers... A big zero, nada, nickels, nothing... It was 12 o'clock for good sake!!!

Cozy tapas bar with beautiful characteristic interior and atmosphere. Really nice food, great service and super friendly staff!! Highly recommend!

Best Dumpling and Fried Rice! The decoration is pretty cool and the staff really nice. Even non vegetarian food could be change that we, as vegetarian, had a lot of food choices. The sangria is fresh made and really good. But the best were the dumplings. So tasty!

Mixed feelings about this place after having dinner the other night: The waitress is very friendly and the decor is nice. The air was a bit stuffy/greasy when we visited around 21:30. They have multiple options for vegetarians and they can customize you order to meet your needs. We were party of 4: Two dishes were good (curry fish and duck risotto), one dish was as ok (vegetarian fried.rice) and one dish fried noodles) was super salty and had a heavy&strong tasting brown sauce we did not like.

Went there with 5 friends, very welcoming and open people! Food was amazing, you know the chef knows what he's doing. You can watch him while he cooks. Five stars! For vegans: just ask and he can "veganize everything". Still delicious vegan meals as well.

Infelizmente não chegámos à comida. Aliás, nem à bebida. Quando entrámos foi nos dito que estava muito cheio e que tínhamos de esperar 10 minutos pela comida mas que nos serviam uma bebida. Sem problema nenhum. Não tínhamos pressa nenhuma. Mas nem uma lista nos deram. Apesar de, comigo e com o meu namorado, sermos 8 clientes apenas. Depois de implorarmos pela lista, não houve a mínima possibilidade de pedir uma mínima cerveja pois a empregada estava dentro de uma espécie de bar e já ter sido bastante desagradável quando lhe pedimos a lista, pelo menos para pedir uma bebida. Sendo felizmente Lisboa uma cidade repleta de bons restaurantes, resolvemos ir embora. Sabíamos que o proprietário era o cozinheiro e da saída da cozinha ouvimos: -nem um obrigada, nem um thank - obrigada do quê?, Respondi, nem uma cerveja consegui pedir - para a próxima não têm mesa! Como é possível dizer tal coisa?? Pensei eu. E disse: não acho que vá haver próxima... - têm de esperar o tempo que for necessário! Respondeu o proprietário e cozinheiro! - não acho que tenha....

Stumbled upon this restaurant in the back streets of Lisbon and loved it! Amazing food and cocktails and very friendly service!

Cool menu which was explained in detail by the chef owner, good flavours in our dishes which we really enjoyed plus tasty cocktails from chefs wife / co-owner. We'll be back next time.
