42 euros for two main courses (each a soup sized portion, and one portion of white rice for both) wine and three chamusas for entries was too much. The food was completely average. The wine (da casa) was good enough specially for the price, but other then that everything was just average. I was expecting more after reading reviews.

Mit Abstand das schlächste Restaurant dass ich in Lissabon besucht habe. Die Bedienung Sebastian war eine Zumutung. Wir haben Geteänke bestellt jedoch wurden uns andere empfohlen welche uns auch gebracht wurden. Als wir bemängelten das wir doch die anderen Getränke wollten meinte Sebastian er hätte uns doch gesagt das andere wäre besser. Nach 1:45 Stunden haben wir nach einander unser lauwarmes Essen erhalten.

Was seated outside without much wait. Once seated, it took ~30 minutes to be asked for a drink order as I watched other parties sit, order, and receive food. Beef samosa tasted good, not great, and was cold when it reached the table. Lamb entree had good flavor, but small chunks of bone hiding in sauce led to some painful bites. Service was friendly but would not return.

This restaurant has a big outdoor place occupying pretty much all of the small street they are on. They have also indoor space. Seems to be very popular as we could not get a table outside, so we took a table inside where we were alone. The service is super slow and you have to beg for waiter's attention. A good 1 hour and 3 reminders later we actually got our food. Out of the 2 dishes, one was so bad we did not eat it and one as almost OK (lamb curry with rice). White wine was delicious (the most expensive one on the list), white was served at room temperature, but tasted good. Overall it seems that the guys running this restaurant are very amateurish, capacity of the kitchen is not sufficient for the number of tables (inside of the restaurant was empty, cannot imagine if that would be full as well), the waiters are confused and running around like headless chicken. Professional management, bigger kitchen, a little bit of training for the staff and this could be a very decent restaurant, but unfortunately isn't.

Price aside, which is higher than it should be, the food was pretty bland. We ordered what we thought would be a rich crab curry, but got little pieces of crab shell with barely any meat, in a watery tomato soup broth. We had to ask for some utensils to crack the shells but by the end we just gave up. Also they gave us like a few spoonfuls of rice for 4 people which was a joke. The beef samosas were good, but to be honest you can do much better for cheaper by ordering some croquetes in any pasteleria in Lisbon. If you're in only in Lisbon for a few days, look elsewhere. If you want crab the Portuguese way - get Sapateira Recheada any seafood restaurant near the water.

This is one of those places you read really good things about but the actual experience leaves underwhelmed. As many of my co-eaters remarked this place ain't got s**t on nandos. Food was at best average for this genre of food and the only positive I can push to think of is that the portion size was generous. Generous portion of bland rice and fries with somehow even blander "spicy" sauce. I mean, by all means go here because the hype is hard to ignore about this place but don't actually expect anything memorable apart from the lack of whelm.

포르투갈에서 가장 맛있게 먹은 곳. 아버지가 시작하고 골목에서 자란 아들이 이어받아서 가게를 운영하고 있어요. 뉴욕과 잉글랜드에 분점이 있을 정도이고 여성 셰프가 펴낸 요리책이 포르투갈 요리책 1위를 할 정도로 현지에서 인기가 있다고! 포르투갈의 식민지였던 모잠비크 음식을 파는데 starter 인 튀김만두(소고기 닭고기가 있는데 소고기가 훨씬 맛있어요) 와 직접 만든 삐리삐리 소스가 찰떡궁합. 매콤한게 땡기면 이 삐리삐리소스를 꼭 먹어보아야합니다!! 리스본에서 다섯번 삐리삐리 소스를 먹었는데 이 집것이 가장 제 입맛에 맞았어요. 새우 요리와 밥을 함께 먹는 요리가 시그니처인데 이것도 맛있어요. 저녁엔 예약해야 한다는데 저는 5시에 가니까 자리 많았어요. 유일하게 두 번 간 음식점이고 한국에 분점 내라고 얘기할정도로 매력적인 곳입니다! 다만 고수와 코코넛을 안좋아한다면 다른 곳을 가시는것을 추천합니다. 여기서 이른 저녁먹고 그라사 전망대에서 야경보면 코스가 딱 좋아요

Desilusão comida mediana menos sem grande sabor que se espera apenas seja disfarçado com o picante ( malagueta simples esmagada ) os Camarões em ambos os pratos pedidos estavam duros ( cozinhados tempo demais ) quanto ao atendimento enfim dou nota positiva embora nada de esoecial preço elevado em face da qualidade apresentada

Tasty fare inspired by cuisines from Portugal, Mozambique, and India. The outdoor seating isn't the most comfortable, but the setting is fantastic.
Be sure to try the beef samosa, as well as the Miamba wa Macua (prawn and plantain in a coconut and palm oil sauce, served with rice)!

Recommended by a local winebar, we were pleasantly suprised by this African restaurant! I had the Lamb Piripiri and my wife had the vegetarian dish. Really nice staff and great tasting food for a fair price!

A victim of it's own success maybe? It used to be quite cheap and cheerful apparently but now seems quite pricey for what it is. It's good but nothing special. The staff are nice and it's a a pleasant terrace to eat on.

Fui jantar ao azis com um grupo, a comida demorou mais de 1h a chegar, veio uma travessa de arroz para 9 pessoas, super seco em grumos e duro. Foi pedido várias vezes para vir mais arroz e ele não veio, e os pratos chegaram 7 e os outros 2 demoraram mais 20minutos a chegar mesmo depois de ter pedido umas três vezes os pratos e o arroz. Acabamos de jantar e o arroz acabou por não vir.

I recommend everyone to stay away from this place a much as you can. The attitude of people that work here is horrible. The way they treat people, serve and cook food is disgusting.
I visited this place twice after seeing a review from YouTube travel blogger. It seemed very attractive at first.
1. I came to the restaurant by myself and it took me 5 minutes to find the server or host. "Mini servers" were walking around not even caring about the new guest. Then finally some guy came, handed me a dirty and withered menu. He seated me at the table under the burning sun. When I was ready to place an order for chumussa and beer nobody was coming to my table for 25 minutes. The same server was laughing and chatting with a bunch of people at one of the tables walking past me several times not even making eye contact. I asked two girls to place an order for me but none actually placed it Carl!!! The restaurant was half-empty!!! The "the busy" server came and took my order, It took him 25 minutes to bring me two chumussas (appetiser). The beer was served in a 4oz glass (sample size). Then, I ordered a second beer and it never came!!! Then it took me another 10 minutes to get a receipt and leave.
2. The first time chumussas tasted well and I decided to come back in give these guys a second chance. Came with my two parents. The tables were not clean and they picked up dirty dishes in front of us. Seated us at a crooked table. We were waiting for a server for 15 minutes, while at least 4 employees walked around us not even caring to bring water or make eye contact. When the server came, I could see that he didn't even listen to what I was ordering. He brought an order of chumussa, however this time it was only 1 piece (a few days before it was two).
I could see that other people were getting two, but I got one. Then two servers argued with me that Chumussa comes just a piece per person. After that, I thought the food was about to come out, but no. It wasn't. My server comes back on in 25 minutes after we placed an order and clarify what exactly we wanted.
Finally, in another 20 minutes, the server brought out the food, but only for my dad (Rice and Chicken), and then in 5 minutes for me and my mom. My dad complained that the Chichen was not "Picante" as we ordered, and the server brought us a cup of Piri-Piri and said to mix it!!! Can you imagine?
My lamb was burnt to brown color and was swimming in grease and oil. The piece of chicken my dad got was nothing but ribs and bones. The portions were tine.
We decided not to eat and left the restaurant. The servers were not very upset.

After reading the reviews I thought I’d found the right place to eat, so I decided to try it out.
You have the choice to sit either indoors or outdoors, which is nice. The majority of the waiters are quite friendly, others would do a bit better with a smile and more enthusiasm.
The food was average but, they give out quite generous portions! Portion-wise, I think it’s worth the price you pay. I would say otherwise in terms of taste. The samosas were definitely good, but 2€ for a single samosa seems unfair. Perhaps 3 or 4 smaller samosas would be more ideal for that price?
The menu wasn’t overwhelmingly long but, there seemed to be a theme with the ingredient, particularly with peanut butter and coconut milk/oil.
Overall, I will say my lunch here was pleasant. The place had a friendly environment and it felt quite chilled. However, I’m not sure if I would come back.

O rácio qualidade-preço do menu de almoço é o melhor que já encontrei nas minhas viagens. Dito isto, é genuíno até em aspectos nos quais mais valeria não o ser ou, dito de outro modo, falta-lhe alcançar verdadeira mestria sobre o contínuo espaçotemporal.

A parte per le samossa , anche se niente di speciale, del resto non mi é piaciuto nulla. I piatti sono piú interessanti sul menú che dal vivo.. personale estremamente gentile e disponibile, tavoli in un vicoletto simpatico del quartiere del Fado erotico. Nelle pareti vedrete alcune fotografie "incastonate" nel muro dove sono state direttamente sviluppate e impresse.

Lovely restaurant with delicious Halal Portugese cuisine! I had the spicy Frango which did not disappoint. Good prices and big portions, highly recommend trying this place out.
They also have a restaurant in Leeds, England where im from, went there yesterday!

I was looking forward to having some West African food here, but was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. The waitstaff were not friendly despite the restaurant not being busy. We had to sit outside in the rain because the inside was empty but likely reserved for future parties. The tarps were not meant for the slight rain and I was rained on during most of the meal. As for the food, a bunch of the items were not available and the ones ordered were nothing to write home about. In fact, I had to watch my brother pull out shard after shard of chicken bone because whoever broke the chicken down was hacking the bone and not the joints. This unfortunately was my first experience with African food and I was not impressed. I have been to other African places since and this was by far the worst experience.

Friendly wait staff, quick service, and delicious food, all at a decent price. It is possible to make a reservation here but it might be quicker to just show up. Most dishes are cooked with coconut. The food is a mix of Mozambique, Indian, and Portuguese; and has been in business for over three decades. I had the crab curry and though it was tasty, I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got loads of time on your hands.

Disseram para eu ir experimentar comida moçambicana... indicaram-me o Cantinho do Aziz... fui e sinceramente... não vou voltar lá...Caril de gambas, tem só o nome...o frango com arroz (wuco)...arroz deslavado, carne sem tempero e seca...mousse de maracujá ou devo dizer "mousse de chantilly"?...Bebinka...sem comentários...e já nem vou falar do café, porque deve ser o lote mais rasco que existe...o preço final, é caríssimo para a qualidade da comida e para a qualidade do local

La comida tiene buen sabor pero el servicio es bastante lento y poca cantidad para lo que se paga. El cangrejo fue más una sopa bastante pobre de cantidad al igual que la carne. Los camarones (no hay foto) fueron lo mejor, acompañados del arroz. Las empanadillas bastante buenas.

Hidden away restaurant but really loved the food and ambience. Really cool mix of cultures and tastes but especially loved the Samosas and Lamb. Owner seems to know everyone who walks by and was great people watching.

We went to this place because of the very positive youtube recommendations.
The inside of the restaurant was quite dark and not do cosy so we choose to sit outside where you you also have a nice view.
I have to be honest and say I was a bit dissapointed. To be fair the lamb dish (bakra piripiri) and the minced meat samosas vere good as mentioned by Mark Viens but the signature dishes n'biji com marisci ( seafood with mozambican touch) 、wuco amendoim (boneless chickin dish) recommended on the menu and the vegetarian dish matapa + caril vegetariano vere quite bland and uninteresting. On the other hand the service was very good and acommodating :-)

Comida africana com qualidade muito interessante num ambiente muito amistoso , principalmente graças ao Sebastião que com a sua naturalidade simpatia e sorriso sabe como ninguém receber os clientes. O preço é razoável ... mas com desconto Gold compensa bastante. A muamba é deliciosa. Os vinhos são algo caros , deviam ter um leque mais alargado de vinhos a começar em preços mais baixos. Dit is een plek die je bezoekt voor de chef. Eenvoudige aankleding, maar heerlijk eten. Neem vooraf een Afrikaans biertje met xuero of chamussas, en daarna bijvoorbeeld de bakra piripiri, een licht pittig gestoofd lamsvlees. Simpelweg genieten!

Un locale così è solo da visitare. Si mangiano piatti Portoghesi e Mozambicani molto particolari. Personalmente mi sono piaciuti molto. Il locale è piccolo con posti anche all'esterno. Meglio se prenotate. Il prezzo è abbordabilissimo. Il personale favoloso.

If you are looking for something new gastronomically, then this is a place to explore. Their menu is not huge, but whatever they have has got a storm of flavours that will sway you. Many of their dishes are on coconut milk flavoured. Even if one usually avoids coconuts, rest assured that their preparation embeds coconuts is a very unique way that any coconut avoider can enjoy. Finding them was however a tad more difficult than you'd expect.

Absolutely garbage food. Waiters did not care about us sitting in the restaurant. Talking loudly with people in the kitchen, and making awful lot of noise. Talk about having nice and quiet dinner with your family. Food is worse than their washroom. Tasteless and chicken was like rubber. Ordered shrimp with coconut rice and rice with chicken and peanuts. Unable to finish either of them and left. Went there due to Mark Wein's YouTube video. Beef samosas tasteless as well. Their hot sauce is mouth Burning hot but without ant flavor at all. After eating Portuguese food for 5 days needed some change. Stay away and use your money somewhere else wisely. Once again absolutely garbage food and bad service.

Came here after watching Mark Wiens praise the samosas on his travel show. They did not disappoint. The accompanying spicy sauce might be one of the best hot sauces I've ever tasted. The coconut rice and and beef and pineapple curry were also delicious. The signature ginger and lemon drink was quite tasty although a little too sweet. The locale is picturesque, tucked away in a steep street, overlooking beautiful buildings. It was a very charming setting. I would go again and try more dishes if I had more time in Lisbon.

The staff was very pleasant and the place looked nice, especially the outside. We came in a rush hour and the waiter seemed to be a little confused, but nothing major. Just ask them if they forget part of your order, it's no big deal.

Food was horrible, rice wasn’t fresh, quickly warmed up, chicken was very dry, the famous lamb was everything else than spicy and taste. Our guide recommended that and we read reviews, but our experience was unfortunately sad. Nevertheless sangria was good.

O local é agradável. Nos assentados na parte externa. Não pude avaliar o salão interno, mas o wc é muito apertado e sem conforto. Fomos atendidos por um garçom muito simpático, portanto o atendimento foi bom. Quanto à comida, o prato de camarão com banana não estava muito bom. O de frango, estava muito gostoso.

망고주스, 물, 커리, 닭고기 차무사 먹었어요! 총21유로 나왔고 피리피리소스가 매콤하고 한국에서 먹는 매운맛과 달라 이국적이고 좋았습니다. 저는 가이드님과 먼저 여길 오고 다시 갔는데 좋았어요! 서버분들 친절하셨어요. 가이드님이 소고기나 야채 차무사는 고수가 많이 들어가니 싫어하시면 시킬때 빼달라고 말하세요.

Fuimos animados por los comentarios, pero el sabor de la comida no me parece nada especial, el precio es alto y el local no es muy limpio, quizás solo fue un mal día pero no lo puedo recomendar

Mediocre at best. Finding the place was like waking thru Harlem in the 80’s. Food very inconsistent what was supposed to be lamb shank was cheap broken up cut of lamb and over priced. The only place I have ever been they asked for a tip. The best part of this place was the adventure of going down some very scary streets. Sometimes being a foodie and finding out of the way places that are down and dirty is fun but this was just dirty

Very friendly and helpful service. Aziz is charm itself. I had the spicey ribs and they were excellent! He also gave me a very interesting wine tasting. I will return.

So tasty and amazing service, beware if you have mobility issues as taxis can't drop you in front due to driving restrictions near the castle. Highly recommend though!

Excelente tasca de comida Mozambicana. Tienen terraza, ideal para los meses de más calor. Está todo muy rico, especialmente el camarao com quiabos y la muamba de galinha.

My first night in Lisbon, I decided to stay in my neighborhood, within walking distance of my apartment. I checked out several of the places I later tried and review here on Google, but for the first night I settled here. What a great start to a superb experience and visit to Lisbon! I’ve had and made peri-peri a million times but I have never REALLY had it until this night. The lamb peri-peri was the perfect blend of subtle and spice. This is what Portugal is about: thousands of years of exploration, of being settle, invaded, and fought over. Taking elements from the world, bringing them home and owning them. Peri-peri originates in Mozambique, but is now uniquely Portuguese.
I highly recommend this two block neighborhood. I started my morning coffee here, explored Lisbon, had lunch somewhere else, but returned here every night for drinks, dinner, and fado. This was the sweetest place to land in Lisbon. Check out my Google reviews of these neighborhood joints: Cantinho do Aziz, O Trigueirinho, Union Empanadas, Tasqinha Canto do Fado, O Velho Eurico, and Leitaria Moderna. There are other places including an Italian restaurant and a gelato shop. You cannot go wrong staying in this area. The people were friendly, inviting, with big smiles and bigger laughs. I will come back.

급하게 블로그 추천글을 보고 갔는데 첨엔 허름한 야외 좌석만 있어서 긴가민가 했는데 실내도 있었음. 야외만 있는지 착각. 직원이 정말 친절하고 빠릿빠릿함. 계속 주시하며 부족한거 없는지 봐줌. 다만 음식은 조금 늦게 나오는편. 요리 시간이 걸려서 그런듯.
쌀이 동남아쌀이라 밥은 추천하지 않지만 그 외에 먹은 요리가 양도 푸짐하고 너무 맛있었음. 시간에 쫒겨서 다 먹지 못해 아쉽고 다시 가고 싶을 정도로 좋은 기억으로 남음.

가이드투어 코스 중 한 곳. 사모사, 커리새우, 코코넛밥 먹었다. 코코넛 향이 무지 진하고, 밥에 코코넛?했는데 부드럽고 맛에서 거부감 들지않는다. 수제 피리피리 소스가 짱이었다. 진짜 한국사람들 입에 잘맞고 매운거 먹고싶음 와서 적당히 뿌려드심 됨.
영국에서 포르투갈 치킨 먹을때 피리피리소스 매우면서 신맛이 엄청 강했는데 여긴 진짜 고추의맛! 근데 막매워서 못먹을건 아니고 입에서 감돌다 사라짐.. 향신료 잘 못먹는 편인데 이집은 잘먹었다
가이드님 왈 실제로 주인분 한국진출 생각하고 계셔서 막 물어본대요ㅋㅋㅋ 다시 리스본가면 다른메뉴 먹어보고 싶은곳.

Tourist trap, we found this place through Youtube, food is OK but very expensive compare to some other restaurants in Lisbon we dined. This place probably was good years ago but since it showed up on youtube prices have gone way up and quality is not all that good (several mention of Youtube foodie guy in their menu), also the only restaurant in the whole Portugal that waiter asked for tip, btw we did not see any African working there, all wait staff are Indian. Check out the restaurant down the hill very good food and much cheaper (long wait if you go passed 7pm) "Zé dos Cornos"

소스가 맛있다는 평을 보고 기대했는데 약간 김치속 같은 맛이라 익숙하나 매우매우매우 맵다. 매운 고추씨를 사용했나봄.. 치킨도 탄두리 치킨 느낌. 맛도 있고 양도 엄청 많은데 리스본에서 굳이 치킨먹으러 찾아갈 정도는 아닌것 같다.

The food was good, reasonable price and fairly large portion with good service unfortunately there is no inside sitting when the weather is cold or rainy. Although they had heaters but I was still cold. I had seen this restaurant on ytube as the food blogger Mark Wiens had been and recommended. Not very easy to find as tucked away amongst alleyways. Have to be reasonably fit to get there as steep hill and steps.

Oh God this was good. Get the slow cooked mutton, it was divine. Coconut shrimp was good but nothing to write home about. Lovely outdoor seating, so go when its warm.

투어 중 온 곳인데 안에 옥수수들어간 튀김이 맛있고 좋네요. 여기서 직접 만든 삐리삐리소스가 매운데 맛있어요. 삐리삐리에 튀김 찍어먹으니 행복하네요

A comida lembra muito elementos da culinária brasileira. Até aí poderia ser ótimo, com dendê e leite de côco por exemplo. Mas pouco ou nada se destaca de uma comida caseira, senão pelo valor elevado e as porções comedidas.

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant but I will try. It gave me everything I needed tonight and more. Sebastião provides the kindest service ever and his food is even better. Traveling/dining alone, I appreciated lovely conversation and outstanding food and drinks to fill my spirit and tummy. Try the cashew juice and the famous chamossas! Everything (I also had spicy chicken and excellent coconut rice) was delicious and piping hot. This was my second visit to this restaurant on my second visit to Lisbon and I do not regret it. Thank you very much for spicy sauce, a warm blanket on a chilly evening, wonderful food and great advice for life xoxo

Fuimos a cenar a las 19.00 de la tarde, la atención muy rápida, no pongo 5 estrellas porque los precios quizá sean un poco elevados, pero la verdad que hemos salido encantados con la comida. Comida mozambiqueña, lamb (19 euros) y gambas con leche de coco (14 euros), sabores diferentes y muy ricos. tuvimos happy hour de bebida por ser esas horas y una botella de vino nos costó 5 euros.

A comida é muito boa, porém não souberam informar sobre a quantidade de comida. Os pratos custam entre 9 e 19€, e a comida chega rápido. Os garçons se confundem muito, entregaram entradas e esqueceram várias vezes de trazer as bebidas que pedimos. A comida é muito gostosa.

영국에 지점을 낼 정도로 유명하고 맛이 보장된 모잠비크 아프리카 음식점! 피리피리 소스와 함께 맛보면 멕시코 음식의 매움처럼 자극적임을 느낄 수 있어요. 커다란 새우가 들어간 카레는 왠지 익숙한 듯하면서 맛납니다 :)

I'm saddened to give Cantinho do Aziz only two stars, as although the food was quite enjoyable, our overall experience was dampened by the lack of consistent service and the time we had to wait for our food.
We had booked a table for two at 2000 on Christmas eve, only to be served our starters at around 2120 after having to remind the staff what we had ordered. The samosas were tasty though, as were the mains; saffron and coconut based beef stew (Nhama) and a mixed seafood dish (N'biji com marisco) but they were unfortunately served quite cold so we had to eat quickly to enjoy it. The portions were decent, but not in balance with the price. I like to think that our visit was rare in that the food and service wasn't up to it's usual standard, but the fact we weren't reimbursed for the exceedingly long wait we had to endure on a Christmas eve booking justifies my two-star review.

Ridiculously expensive and lifelong waiting times to boot. Location shady and hygiene felt poor as well. Feels like walking out being scammed....This place should be forcefully shut down as it is bringing SHAME TO LISBON

Tinha elevadas espectativas para este lugar, após ter visto boas críticas e assim decidi experimentar.
Sou conhecedor da boa culinária de Moçambique, talvez por esse motivo tenha saído desiludido.
Começando pelas chamussas, conforme a ementa, as melhores de Portugal, pois, não me parece que sejam, não são más, mas não achei nada de especial e já comi bem melhores ali relativamente perto.
Caril de camarão estava bem servido, mas infelizmente não achei nada de especial. O frango à Zambeze estava muito seco e o
Makoufe também não morri de amores pelo prato, apenas tinha 2 camarões e uma pata de caranguejo.
O que gostei deste lugar o arroz de côco, valeu por isso.
A carta de vinho na minha opinião é muito má, deveria ser renovada e com melhores opções.

One of the best meal I've had in Lisbon! The lamb is soft and the sauce complements the meal very well. I usually never finish my rice but I had to because the sauce was delicious. Also got the seafood mix and the coconut sauce was so fragrant. So full. The host was very friendly and attentive and the place reflects their culture and warmness.

Stumbled upon this place as we were looking for halal food and pleasantly recognised it as one of the place that Mark Wiens had suggested. But the food was actually so-so and not worth the price. Service took so long and we wasted almost a long time just waiting. Added another star only for the good samosas.

Super unscheinbares Restaurant, aber wirklich lecker! Der Hauswein ist sehr zu Empfehlen. Preise sind sehr fair und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Nicht erschrecken, die scharfe Soße ist wirklich scharf ;-)

Eine verborgene Perle mitten in Lissabons Altstadt. Die Atmosphäre ist herzlich und einladend, wie ich es aus Afrika gewohnt bin. Das Essen schmeckt super (wer afrikanische Küche mag). Einziges Manko : das Restaurant ist ein bisschen schwer zu finden und kann nur zu Fuß erreicht werden.

Comimos en este sitio y pedimos el menú del día por 5€, que incluía un plato de la carta, una bebida y un café. La comida estaba muy sabrosa y el trato fue exquisito, fueron muy amables. Nos sentamos en las mesas de la terraza, es un sitio muy agradable y tranquilo.

Had samosa due to the recommendation from YouTuber. 2 euro each, however, the taste is just ok for me. Friendly staff and boss, though.
The chilli provided is really spicy for European standard, eat with your own risk.

Me lo recomendaron y me ha gustado mucho. He comido lo que veis. Un entrante que parecía una especie de empanadilla de carne, que estaba muy buena. Ojo con el picante. Pica mucho. Probarlo un poco sólo, antes de añadirlo. Y luego me habían recomendado un carril de camaroes. Que estaba muy rico. La camarera habla muy bien el castellano, así que sin problema.

Chamussa 세가지맛 모두 먹어봤는데 채소가 가장 맛있었고, 새우가 들어간 커리& 닭가슴살을 코코넛소스와 피넛버터에 요리한 것을 먹었는데 맛있었다. 음료는 cider by aziz가 가장 나았다. 무었보다 가장 좋았던건 서버가 엄청 친절했다는 것. 구글에서 알려준대로 가니 으슥한 골목 계단을 올라가래서 맞나했는데 맞더라구요.

The best food we had in Lisbon. Am absolute must when you come visit the city. The lamb was amazing. The meat feel off the bone and didn't have that gamey taste. I added a bit of the spicy sauce to my dish to give it an extra kick. Overall, the food was amazing and so were the staff.

Can’t believe this restaurant has been described as the best in Lisbon!! Our experience was very disappointing. The meat and seafood were clearly frozen and the sauce had little flavour. The toilets were horrendous - leaking and unclean which doesn’t give a good impression of the hygiene of the place as a whole. The service was probably the best part as our waiter was attentive and friendly. I would not recommend visiting. There are far better restaurants and experiences to be had elsewhere in the city.

저는 양갈비를 먹고 친구는 해산물 리조또 같은걸 먹었는데 양갈비는 등뼈찜맛입니다 해산물 리조또는 약간 느끼한데 나물이랑 같이 있어서 곤드레밥에 크림소스와 해산물을 넣어 만든 맛입니다
김치있으면 금상첨화인 맛입니다 ㅎㅎ

I've been a regular client for years... the mass tourism is killing the place. Nice food but too much people, too much poor service, too expensive for the quality.

L'endroit est sympa, l'accueil aussi. Par contre l'attente est longue même quand il n'y a pas grand monde.
Qualité assez basse. Ce n'est pas que ce soit mauvais, mais quand on se vante sur les murs d'être le meilleur resto de Lisbonne... on s'attent à mieux et beaucoup mieux. Dans un plat, soit disant le "top", spécialité de poisson et fruits de mer, quasiment tout est surgelé. Des cubes de poissons et... du SURIMI !!! Du surimi dans un plat en sauce "typique" avec des moules décomposées qui n'ont pas supporté la congélation. C'était une bonne s'adresse, ça ne l'est plus !

The food was good, the staff were kind but overall is just a normal restautant. It is a bit overhyped and overpriced but nonetheless an interesting experience. Maybe they must pay a bit of an attention to the hygiene there, just saying... If you miss the Cantinha is not the end of the world but if it happens to get around go there.

I regret going there. We wanted to try something different... We ordered their star dish: Bakra Piripiri. Food was acceptable...but not for the price and only if we ignore that: 1) my cup of tea had lipstick on it, 2) in the main dish I found a piece of plastic (looked like a small piece from a tag maybe)... We prefered not to ruin our last night in Lisbon and we ate ...and we didn't had the guts to refuse to leave some tip... Definitely don't recomend! Are so many other restaurants with very good food.

Not sure where to begin. The Chumacas are delicious. The chicken were my favorite. If you can get the lamb piri piri...its a must. They also offer cashew juice and it's like a cross between a mango and a citrus fruit. Extremely refreshing.

L'accueil était vraiment très bon. Les serveurs sont souriants mais débordés. Le temps d'attente était beaucoup trop long (plus de 30 minutes). J'ai été déçu par mon plat : certains morceaux de poulet étaient tendres mais d'autres dures et secs. Le riz n'était pas bien cuit. Par contre leurs cocktails et jus sont très bons. Du coup ça vaut peut-être la peine de s'y arrêter juste pour un cocktail et peut-être pour leurs samoussas qui ont l'air d'avoir du succès et qui sont servis rapidement contrairement aux plats (mais je n'ai pas goûté)

Best food we ate in Lisbon. Very friendly staff with amazing samosas. We shared the Lamb piri piri and we not disappointed. We ended up eating a second serving of samosas for desert! Highly recommend!

Pedi um copo de vinho, sou conhecedor de vinhos e escolhi-o eu, mandei abrir na minha frente e recusaram-se dizendo que tinham a mesma marca lá dentro, foram buscar e trouxeram um copo de vinho diferente: era um vinho que não correspondia ao pedido, era um vinho horrível, e o preço era elevadíssimo!!! Foi um roubo!!

Muy mal. Comida recalentada, nos sirvieron el entrante, a los dos minutos un plato. A los 5 minutos.... Otro plato. Por el siguiente tuvimos que esperar 20 más... Claramente tienen un problema que hasta que no solucionen, os recomiendo probar otro de los cercanos.

Acredito que tenha baixado de nível. Sempre ouvi falar muito bem, mas o que comi não tem nada a ver com a minha cozinha moçambicana e o senhor que lá estava a atender disse assim "A mim não me interessa de onde você é, eu sou moçambicano..." Obviamente que não foi feliz, mas acredito que possa haver uma pequena alteração nos condimentos em relação a Moçambique pois para tê-los cá, deve ser uma outra logística. Queria saborear o frango à zambeziana e não tinham. Mas pronto, voltarei lá um dia só para tentar ter uma outra visão e comentário mais positivo. Obrigado. BRUNO*

Had heard it was amazing. Reviews and recommendations from big sources. We found it pretty average. Shrimp with bananas (actually plantain) was pretty good. Boneless chicken in peanut sauce was under salted and extremely bland.

OMG, where do I start! That was an experience of a life time! Eating Mozambique food in Portugal? Quite funny at the begging then it will make sense to u, once u start a conversation with the table next to you!
Better to reserve a head! They also have spicy food if you are a fan of Indian food u will loooove it!

The food is good, but not as spicy as we expected. The starters are overpriced and so are the drinks, but the mains are a very good size and quality for what you pay for. The atmosphere is amazing, you can get blankets and the staff are really lovely! The beef was a favourite. I got quite ill off the crab, but my friends didn’t which indicates it’s an issue with me not the food! I would recommend coming here for sure, if you’re looking for something beautiful and different with a good energy

We went on a quest for food on our first night in Lisboa. Location was not very difficult to find. We were not disappointed especially with the lamb piripiri. It reminded us of home with all the flavours and the rice. We also ordered the plantain prawn dish which will please those who enjoy coconut based sauce. I wish we could stay longer in town to try the restaurant again. The beef samousas were well seasoned but not great in my opinion. The staff was very friendly but busy due to the popularity of the restaurant. Word of advice: ladies, the WC is very very small.

Great little restaurant with a very interesting and diverse menu. Food is very tasty and the staff is considerate. They also had blankets for each customer sitting outside as it became a bit colder at night.

The food was ok the service not so. For some reason the personnel think they have hard drives in their heads and won't write down your order. This means that some of the things you ordered won't reach your table. Even if you ask twice for them. They will reach your bill though, which makes it all seem intentional.

The food was good we ordered both the lamb dishes and samosa..
The service now that is off putting and why I wouldn't recommend this place. They are just far to annoying the servers, just give me my space to decide. The bill came and he asked 3 times if I want to tip was very awkward.

Au vu des bons avis et des conseils de notre hôte nous nous sommes rendus dans ce resto. Rien à redire pour le service, l’emplacement, la terrasse et le service c’était parfait ! Par contre mis à part les samoussas, le makoufe ne vaut surtout pas le détour : produits surgelés (car est importé du Mozambique à priori selon le serveur), épinards ou choux sans gout et riz moyen. Quand au plat de poulet trop sec/cuit qui baigne dans une sauce à l’huile nous ne vous le conseillons pas.
Je mets 2 étoiles pour l’emplacement et le service (le makoufe nous a été offert après avoir demandé si les fruits de mer étaient surgelés) en espérant ne pas tomber malades..

Uma ótima surpresa em uma das ruazinhas de Lisboa! Fica aberto até mais tarde que a maioria, a comida é incrível e muito bem temperada (várias entradas mas apenas uma opção de prato vegetariano, que vale a pena) e o atendimento é surpreendente. O Sebastião é uma das figuras mais simpáticas que encontrei em Portugal.

Disappointing. Booked a table based on the review in Bon Appetite, was looking forward to the meal but left questioning all the buzz. Food was OK at best, tried 4 things and nothing jumped out as “wow”. Service was disorganized, waited 60 minutes between starters and mains. There are endless restaurant options in Lisbon, wouldn’t recommend this place.

I've been going with tourist groups there for the last 2 years and I used to love this place, but after yesterday visit I don't think I will go back again. Prices are more expensive now, Less quantity and worst service. Slow and not very attentive staff, not getting the things right and not as good as it used to be. 4.5 actually...This is a charming little place on the road side of old Lisboa.. The place is small but has big flavours.. Most people prefer to sit outside under a tarp no less.. But the food is worth it.. The staff was friendly and helpful, service was as good as can be expected.. Summer,Ice cold beer and spicy African fusion food... Ahh.!! Vacation.....

Delicious and flavoursome, although my lunch here was on the pricier end. I had the samosas, lamb curry and a coconut crab curry. The lamb was the star of the show. I probably wouldn't order the crab again, I prefer my crab spicy and this was too light in flavour for my liking.

Le samoussa était correct, nous avons commandé un makoufe qui avait un gout de cramé. Le plat est fait à base de chou, crevettes et crabes. 4 crevettes, la moitié d’un petit crabe pour moi et zero crabe pour mon amie... je ne recommande pas. Attrape touriste.

Maybe we have been unlucky but our dinner was just awful. We were amongst the first clients sitting outside, but we still waited more than 45 minutes between the appetizer and our main course. Then they served us the wrong dishes. We pointed it out, and in just a few minutes they came back with the right dishes, but presented in a very bad way, with no cure whatsoever and especially very small portions. We assume they made them up super fast. We ate Anyway not enjoying much, shrimps were hard as gum, my crab claws were almost empty. We conclude with a hair thin slice of cake, paying 50€ in total, which is a patrimony for the Lisbon standards (And they also actively asked for tip, which for Lisbon is not even a standard). I go away more hungry than before.
Dulcis in fundo, my girlfriend threw up the shrimps in the middle of the night, and had the following day ruined by colics.
Never again.

Infelizmente não gostei nada. Não coloco menos estrelas porque o atendimento é excelente. Atenciosos, engraçados e muito amigáveis, e o quadro magnífico, na cidade velha de Lisboa. Mas a comida não seguiu o movimento, sem sal e os sabores não eram nada o que esperava, não gostei mesmo.

I came here because of the famous YouTube video, the lamb looked amazing. And it was, my brother got it and we tried it and it was incredible.
The reason I’m giving this restaurant 2 stars is because both my friend and I got horrible food poisoning after eating the crab they served (I’m a bio major so I think scientifically, and I know for a fact 100% that it was the crab they served that gave us the food poisoning—I’m not gonna waste time explaining why).
Furthermore, I was expecting crab that could be cracked and then easily pull chunks of meat out—this was not the case at all. I was only able to eat about 30% of the total crab, because it was some weird small species where all of the crab meat stuck to the inside of the shells like glue. Once cracked, you could look at the shells and they’d have a solid coating of stringy crab meat along the inside. Such a waste! Hardest crab I’ve ever had to eat, I wanna say I ate more shell than crab just because it was so hard to separate the crab from the shell. Also, I’m no novice with eating crab, I’ve been eating it since a baby, so I know how it should be. If the crab was normal and didn’t give us food poisoning, they’d for sure get a 5 star!

Ich frage mich, warum sich alle über die Bedienung beschweren? Unser Kellner war schnell, lustig und hat uns auch gute Ratschläge gegeben (wie z.B. mozambikisches empfohlen) (5/5)*2.
Das Essen fand ich persönlich in Ordnung, aber dennoch etwas zu teuer. Ich habe außerdem heruasgefunden, dass mir die Art von Essen nicht so liegt. Meine Freunde, mit denen ich da war, fanden das Essen hingegen hervorragend, weshalb ich da jetzt mal nicht so sein will. Leider ist außerdem die Speisekarte etwas mager, dafür aber mit vielen Bildern vom Essen (3,5/5)*3.
Die Toiletten waren sauber, aber klein (3,5/5)*1.
Fazit: Es war mal eine nette Erfahrung, auch wenn ich da wahrscheinlich nicht mehr hingehen würde (da ich auch nicht da wohne, mal davon abgesehen). Außerdem ist es halt auch nicht ganz günstig... (4/5)

The only thing I enjoyed was the vegetarian samosa. The seafood stew was expensive and without vitality. All seafood used was frozen. My friends had their chicken speciality and didn’t like it as well. Second disappointing experience here. Will not return.

Stærkt overvurderet afrikansk restaurant. Maden (kylling med ris og fritter) var middelmådig - god kylling men tørre ris helt uden sauce.
Personalet er indisk, ikke afrikansk, så lokalkoloritten virkede ikke autentisk. Bordene udenfor er i en sølle forfatning. Indenfor cafeteriastemning. Tjenerne veksler mellem ekstatiske og apatiske. Lang ventetid trods få gæster, de glemte os flere gange.
Utroligt hvordan de har opnået så rosende omtale i diverse madmagasiner.

Attente longue. On a demandé 3 fois pour avoir la boisson manquante à notre table. Nous avons demandé 2 fois un couvert manquant : en vain. J’ai dû manger à la cuillère à soupe sans serviette. En terrasse, le sol est penché et l’assise est inconfortable. Personne n’était content de son plat.

Delicious Mozambique food in the centre of Lisboa shows diversity in the city. Great street art and colour gives vibrance to thiq place. Lively and friendly staff told me the history of the restaurant.
Order the beef chamučas, they come with a very spicy sauce.

Im Vergleich zur gelieferten Leistung finde ich das Restaurant überteuert. Das Essen ist sehr fad und bestand hauptsächlich aus Reis mit Soße. Das dazugehörige Gemüse konnte man an den Fingern abzählen, was mich sehr enttäuscht hat.
Auch die Tatsache das die Hälfte der Gerichte nicht verfügbar waren hat das Urteil beeinflusst.

Die Bedienungen waren sehr jung und unerfahren. Konnten teilweise kein Englisch sprechen.
Sehr chaotisch und wenig professionell.
Bei der Bestellung mussten wir feststellen, dass fast die Hälfte der Gerichte nicht mehr bestellbar waren. Hatten das vegetarische Gericht, bei dem es verkochtes Gemüse an einer Art Rahmsoße gab, die nicht ausreichend gewürzt war. Dafür 13€ zu verlangen, ist wirklich ein schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Alles in allem wenig empfehlenswert, da hilft auch die internationalen Empfehlungen von irgendwelchen Zeitungen nichts.

A comida foi uma decepção, pedi uma muamba, e o sabor descaracterizado, meio azeda, veio fria, o atendimento péssimo , muito lento esperamos quase uma hora, para vir a entrada , que eram mandiocas fritas, com um molho Rose , visivelmente passado , e para piorar resolveram misturar a culinária de África com o sabor indiano, a culinária está sem nenhuma identidade.

Je déconseille en tout point. Je rejoins les avis précédents au sujet de l'attente, de la qualité des plats.. Des bananes plantains mauvaises, du poulet mal cuit, des plats jamais amenés. J'ai hésité à laisser cet avis tant ça ne me ressemble pas de le faire. Mais en voyant les autres mauvais avis je pense que c'est nécessaire d'insister !

유럽에서 먹은 것 중에 젤 맛있어요. 그 해산물 19유로짜리가 코코넛 소스랑 같이 있는건데 존맛. 그리고 에피타이저에 있는 치킨만두에 있는 소스가 좀 매운데 뭔가 핫소스같이 모든 메뉴에 다 넣으면 한국인의 매운맛 갈증을 해소할 수 있어요. 양도 혜자에요

À l’entrée du restaurant se trouve la cusine qui ressemble plus à une poubelle qu’une cuisine. On a attendu 1h pour être servi. Finalement leur hygiène m’a coupé l’appétit et j’ai fini au Mcdo.

La comida estaba buena pero tardaron 45 minutos en traerla. Además su menú tiene unos 5 entrantes y no tenían 3 de ellos. Lo mismo con las cervezas. Nadie fue capaz de disculparse por la tardanza y como toque final me tocó pedir la cuenta varias veces ya que tampoco iban rápidos en eso.
