well I was DJing there last night and have to say that from personal experience, Damas hás probably one of the best soundsystems in Lisbon right now. What's more, I ate what was probably the best Tuna steak this year (and probably many years), served with mango sauce and fried mandioca - a memorable plate for sure

Favorite lunch spot in Portugal so far. They were out of the mains, but the tapas were unique and tasty. Local fish ceviche, hummus and mushrooms in a buttery garlic sauce with pickled vegetables. The pineapple lime mint juice was so good and refreshing!

Very nice hipster place. Don’t expect amazing service but the food is really worth it. Make sure that when you order to bill you pronounce it right because otherwise you will get a second Veal dish XD (haha)

The service is bad. The waiters are unprofessional and ignore your request and forget and get mixed up about what you have ordered.
The food was tasteless and salty, extremely salty indeed.
The bench are uncomfortable and wobbly, ikea cheapest kitchen furniture.
In a nutshell: if you like a juicy tourist trap, if you like paying through the nose for low quality food cooked in a dirty place, go there and look around, this is the place for you.

Sólo y ido una vez, y después de media noche, o sea, como pub, no restaurante. Dan conciertos y un Dj luego puso música en directo, muy divertido! Hasta 4am. No esperes ningún tipo de lujo. Si no te gusta el humo allí se fuma y mucho, ambiente alternativo.
Me cuesta creer que ahí sirvan comidas durante el día. Un vaso de vino cuesta 2,50€
Los empleados, porteros y camareros, muy majos :)
A mejorar:
- Ventilación? Muy necesario!!
- Controlar el aforo
Llega una altura en que se hace complicado moverse o respirar.

Depende daquilo que se pretende! Confusão a preços não muito exagerados. O prazer de dois seguranças à porta (talvez se justifique pelo ambiente)... Pessoal a urinar ali mesmo ao lado mas, compreensivelmente pois as casas de banho eram um nojo, mas com DJs a tocar e muita gente a dançar! Para quem gosta do gênero....

Muito bom, preço da cerveja é acessível e possuem copos de plástico que podemos utilizar e entregar no fim sob caução, reduzindo a utilização do plástico.

Awesome tapas place. We ordered 6 plates for 4 people and we actually had trouble finishing the meals. It is a little on the trendy/squattery side of design though. Also the stools are tiny, so I wouldn't take my grandma here.

리스본 여행와서 처음 먹은 식사인데 너무 맛있었어요. 맥주 7잔과 요리 3개 시켰는데 40유로 밖에 안해요. 그리고 재료가 모두 신선했어요. 분위기가 너무 좋아요. 힙한 스타일...⭐️ 모든 요리를 추천하지만 특히 새우요리가 가장 좋았어요!!

The coolest restaurant of Alfama and perhaps from Lisbon. The food is good and tasty with lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Friendly staff. Mix of locals, perhaps some tourists (ourselves) and the place has a nice vibe. To ensure a place during the weekend, arrive between 19:00 and 20:00, since they don't take reservations.

Been there twice during my stay in Lisbon and I got to say it's one of the best local places for portuguese and fusion cuisine in the area. It's a bit off from all the tourist areas and a lot of locals eat here.
The menu is written on a wall but only in portoguese which is cool but not the greatest if you don't speak the language. As much as I want this place to be all local an English menu card would help a lot. Some of the waiters speak good English and can explain the menu, others don't.
The food itself is authentic but still modern with fresh ingredients. I tried the mushroom ceviche, pica Pau, Poke and the squid salad and all 4 dishes were great.
Keep doing what you guys are doing because it's working

Forget about all these tourist hunting restaurants that try to trick you. Here we talk about something local, real, authentic. If you are moving in the area don’t miss this opportunity. The staff is really friendly and ready to help you. The food menu comes in really creative and improvised. We can call it a sure win on this one. Good work boys and girls there.

Hélas un peu trop fatigué de notre marche de la journée pour tester l' ambiance concert dans ce restaurant. Mais bon accueil sympathique lieu comme on les aime "underground"...Merci aux serveurs qui sont chacun spécialisé dans une seconde langue...merci Mickaël pour ta traduction en Français !! Bonne bière et menu vegan a la hauteur...! Lieu atypique et hors des sentiers du tourisme de base et de masse.

The place looks somewhat run down, has beautiful ceilings, friendly waiters and absolutely fantastic food! The tuna just touched the frying pan and together with the sprouts, the green onions and the wasabi(?) created a firework on the palate. Respect to the chef!

I had one of the best meals of my trip to Portugal here (which is saying something). Very friendly staff and an excellent and often creative menu. I had a mushroom ceviche as a starter, which I found to be very tasty and unique, and then a beautifully cooked beef brisket with potatoes and salad as my main. I wish I'd had more time in the city, or else I definitely would have come back here again.

Może źle trafiłem ale jadłem 2 dania i oba bez wyrazu. Produkty są dobrej jakości ale smaku tam nie było. Szkoda bo widzę, że opinie są bardzo pozytywne. Niestety nie mam czasu dać drugiej szansy. Obsługa bardzo luźna i mało zwraca uwagę na gości. Trochę samoobsługa trochę nie, ciężko stwierdzić. U mnie przy stoliku było 3 różnych kelnerów, każdy w innej sprawie.

Durch Zufall hat Google uns hier her geführt! Ich bin grundsätzlich der Meinung dass es in Lissabon kein schlechtes Essen gibt, aber das hier war wirklich richtig gut! Wer kein portugiesisch kann, findet mit Hilfe der sympathischen Bedingungen alles was das Herz begehrt: Fleisch, Fisch oder Vegan; alles frisch zubereitet auf portugiesisch Art modern interpretiert! Eine Atmosphäre wie bei guten Freunden! Ein Bier oder Cocktail dazu und schon ist der Abend perfekt!

One star, because less is not possible.
The rooms are cozy and not particularly clean. I don't want to comment on food because the service spoiled our last night in Lisbon: we ordered 5 petiscos, the order was forgotten on the first round. The place was full, but all customers had their food when we first got in. Second round they forgot 2 of them, and not a single word to apologise, whereas other costumers got "compensations" for waiting. We asked for water 4 times, and the answer was "not enough jars"; jars appeared in tables of costumers that got in later than us, and we got water and bad glances from the waitress at last. In conclusion: there are so many better places to eat in Lisbon and in Alfama, I suggest to try somewhere else.

Great for eating and better even for dancing or just gathering with friends outside on warm days.
The disco room has the best sound on the business and because someone thought of making the walls out of foam, so the bass is warm and deep and th DJs are inovative and fun.
If you're looking for an alternative authentic place this might just be the right place for you.

Das Lokal wirkt von außen ganz unscheinbar, man könnte fast vorbeilaufen. Der Service und die Küche sind spektakulär, selten so spannend und lecker gegessen (Süsskartoffelsalat! Vitelo Piri Piri! Camaroes!)
Man kann nur hoffen dass es ein Geheimtipp bleibt sich die Qualität nicht ändert!

So delicious! They have traditional Portuguese food as well as some fusion food. In the back of the restaurant they also have live music. It was such an amazing experience eating here and then having a beer and listening to a live show. I recommend this place highly!

Google maps had plenty of restaurants in our local area but I'm so glad we got a table in this one. Our group of 4 had 'fish cheeks' 'lamb chops' and 'carne main' with carrot salad, fried potatoes and garlic mushrooms . All of it was Absolutely delicious...well recommended. The meals come out of the kitchen like a tapas- when they're ready but not a long wait. €67 for 4 with alcohol (for 2). Staff were brill and spoke excellent English and explained the Portuguese menu.

O estilo deste bar faz-me lembrar de alguns lugares da Bélgica. É um espaço que não teve obras de remodelação, deixaram estar todo o espirito do que o espaço era originalmente. O staff não é simpático mas fazem o trabalho deles. WC assustador. Fazem eventos tambem, tipo concertos, peças de teatro etc.

An inclusive-hipster-artistic place where employees are not as nice as the values they praise. At 23h they’re still serving dinners and they will literally expel you from your table if you’re just drinking (totally understandable but there ways of communicating it, other than with “if you’re just drinking, you have to leave, we need this table, we need the table now!”). Incredibly not welcomed, you’re then forced to drink outside...then why going there? When removing the furniture from outside, also a very aggressive employee removed all the furniture, not an explanation, no communication. A special beer (not that premium) costed 7€! More expensive than craft beer. I don’t recommend this place.

always came here for their stunning ceviche, BUT the portions now are almost half of what they were last year, which unfortunately makes this nothing better than any hipster tourist place, which is a shame. 10 euros for a small handful of tuna is too much. also the other portions shrinked massively. last night was very slow as well. for that price and less waiting time / better service there's definitely better petisco places.

리스본 숙소 근처여서 우연히 간 식당이 포르투갈 2주 여행 최고의 식당일 줄이야 리스본 오시면 여기는 무조건 가셔야 합니다. 밤에 가셔서 와인 맥주 다양한 술과 함께 맛있는 요리를 즐기세요. 음식 맛은 당연히 엄청나게 훌륭하고 마시는 분위기 직원들의 친절함 합리적인 가격 식당 위치 등 모든것이 좋았어요. 저는 와이프랑 둘이서 긴조개, 스테이크, 문어샐러드, 뷔프브루기뇽, 참치섀비체 이렇게 요리 다섯개 먹고 와인이랑 맥주 8잔 정도 마셨어요. 일곱시 쯤 들어가서 거의 열시까지 음악 들으면서 신나게 먹고 마셨네요. 현지인 대상 식당이라 영어 메뉴가 없지만 스탭들이 모든 메뉴 주문할때마다 친절하게 다 설명해주고 고르는거 도와줍니다. 얘를 들어서 마지막에 안주가 없어서 음식 주문하는데, 너네 이미 많이 먹었으니까 부담 없고 상큼한 참치섀비체 먹어봐 하더라구요. 꽐라되서 나오는 동안 가격은 65유로. 한국으로 따지면 비싼 가격이긴 하지만 술 요리 다 합치면 합리적이었다고 생각해요. 리스본에서 저녁 드실분들 무조건 여기 한번 정도 오세요 :)

Klimatyczne miejsce, które odzwierciedla charakter portugalskich ulic. Surowe, proste wnętrze. Bardzo dobre jedzenie, świeże piwo, miła obsługa. Jedyny mankament, to to, że we wnętrzu jest dosyć głośno :) dania główne podawane po 20:00.

Place looks really awesome, simplistic and industrial. There will be a lot of criticism.. starting with the menu, it’s all in Portuguese and even with translation it doesn’t tell
You anything apart from type of meat or fish you will eat. Even when the waiter will explain, you will be told what does it mean in direct translations again no explanation at all. Place opens at 7pm, we came there at 8 and half of the menu was already finished (My first time when I wanted here good shrimps - gone) And they close around midnight .. Prices seem to be reasonable at first but then when you see the dish in front of you - well, they are not anymore ... size of veal dish is something like 80gr maybe, few thin slices with olives, for 10€ and no side dish or whatsoever :) if you ask them then they can offer you some bread! Wow.. also salads, 5€ for less than 1 tomato sliced up with olives and coriander.. way overpriced compare to other places. Very touristic as well. We saw similar faces of others when they got served “that’s all?”.. you need to pay at least 15€ to get a decent piece of pork with beans and as for pork that’s a lot! service tries to step up its game but in the end there is 1-1.5 waiter per restaurant and with him/her explaining everyone what it what, you wait a lot for your food to be served (you can see it sitting and waiting on the counter for some time) so it’s not really hot as it suppose to be.. we really appreciated the chef leaving the kitchen to serve all the waiting food but he didn’t know to whom so he was just running around asking if it’s your you or not - eventually he came to us after few minutes of confusion. Food is tasty, extremely small portions, no sides, cold and super overpriced. Really not recommend ! Very disappointed and hungry afterwards.

Only in Portugal can you get away with the ugliest cheapest white bathroom tile on walls, shaking concrete floor, hit or miss food, and no serviceable menu- they have menu handwritten in Portuguese on a tile wall, to understand it they must explain it to you individually (imagine the nightmare when they’re busy) and to do so you must abandon your table that you managed to take over. And for the entire experience you must pay more than at another place equally not atmospheric.

Really nice place! Expect to wait around 45 min to get a table as it is always full... Food is good and cheap, as well as wine. Really easy to meet people and spend a good time with them! This place should be on your to do list if you plan to visit Lisbon!

We went twice and it was definitely the best place we ate at in a week long visit to Lisboa. Love the atmosphere from the music they play to the blue giraffes painted on the walls, the grungey lighting and the big beautiful window in the main room. Get the sangria! They make it fresh for you. Everything we ate here was great but the octopus salad was probably the standout. Beetroot hummus was surprisingly memorable too.

Fantastic place! Super delicious food which is somehow a combination of Portuguese and Oriental taste. The Interieur reminds of an artist canteen, casual but comfortable. No menu cards but a giant wall with all the offerings which makes it somewhat inefficient for the staff to explain ;)
Hummous, Babaganoush.. Feels like a little bit of Tel Aviv in Lisbon. Hip spot, good food, fair prices. Highly recommend!

Worst experience ever! Won’t recommend at all, the food was okey but waiting one hour without any explanation and the bartender being really rude to you when explaining the situation! After that no any compliment from the place for you waiting so much without being told that we have to wait 1 hour instead of 20minutes that they explained to us in the beginning.

Das Essen ist fantastisch! Unglaublich gute Qualität! Es gibt eine Auswahl an feinen Gerichten die ständig wechselt. Das Personal ist äußerst umsichtig und die Atmosphäre sehr speziell. Es ist durch die Küchenähnliche Inneneinrichtung sehr gemütlich! Aber leider auch sehr laut. Dennoch empfehle ich den Laden des Essens wegen gerne weiter! Wer sich eher im individuellen Sektor sieht wird sich auf jeden Fall heimisch fühlen.

For casual food lovers who appreciate an underground but classy vibe. What would look like an abandoned building to some, is repurposed into a space that offers a unique experience. Before our meal, we sat down and enjoyed a cigarette in the room of the restaurant where smoking is allowed. It felt like a trip to the past. The food recommendations were spot on, but beware of CORIANDER. If you don’t like this controversial herb, make sure you mention that to the staff!

Ensuite comme je voyage seule...2 fois on me demande de changer de table...mon voisin commande un plat puis s'en va...on me sert son plat...je me dis que j'ai mal compris...je n'ai qu'à mieux parler anglais...
Puis mes plats arrivent...avec 15min entre chaque...- c'est dommage lorsqu'on veut manger sa viande avec sa salade-
Concernant l'essentiel... la nourriture en elle-même...c'est bon!
Tant pis pour la note sucré-salé et leur terminal bancaire qui ne fonctionne pas...

Wonderful!
We taste almost everything (humus, carrot salad, sopa, chips of banana, eggplant caviar, polvo salad, pudim de batata dolce, brownie, koftas, mousse of avocado and coconuts, tempuras, tortilla, ceviche, feta fritta, gaspacho...) all was super tasty and the staff is very kind.
Edit: We went three times, it was always very good and people were very welcoming with us.

What a joke. The service and the food were beyond disappointing. We were ignored by staff for first 10 mins so we sat at an empty table until they barked at us that we couldn’t sit there. We then asked for drinks while we waited for a table, only to be told we couldn’t be served until we had a table.
When our meal was eventually served it was underwhelming. I’ve had bites off my finger nails bigger than those clams.
More staff are required.
Wouldn’t recommend based on staffing and customer service alone.

This place is honestly unreal. Came here twice my first time in Lisbon and now I’m back again. The shrimp is unforgettable, the staff are super cute and nice. I would eat here everyday for the rest of my life if I could. Would die in a puddle of that garlicky shrimp sauce.

If you don’t like lime or coriander - wrong place for you! I love both so the food was terrific. I had the carrot salad with olives which was so fresh and good. I also had the watermelon soup (cold) which was soooo yummy. We the. Shared a tuna ceviche and some clams. Skip the clams as they were a small bit sandy and go for the shrimps with garlic instead. Small place with menu written only on the wall and very friendly waitress, takes a little while because she was the only waitress. 10/10 go here if you are a bit of a hipster, like lime and coriander and different types of dishes. Here you won’t find typical fried greasy stuff all fresh!

Staff are super friendly and the food is absolutely gorgeous!
The lamb, the prawns and the salads were all delicious! Heavy on the coriander but for those like me who enjoy that little herb it was superb!

restaurant pour touristes : plats excessivement chers : 7 euros le Pica Pau de champignons, dans lequel on retrouve en réalité que deux champignons mélangés à des legumes au vinaigre fraichement sortis d'une boite de conserve (?!)... En plus, les serveurs ne sont pas agréables du tout, et vous ne pouvez pas manger où cela vous plait : il n'y a que des tables de 4 et vous êtes obligés de partager votre table avec d'autres personnes. Franchement je ne recommande pas du tout!

This place is for sure one of the best food spots I’ve been to in a long while. I had few things of the menu but some of the items that stood out were their melon gazpacho with prosciutto as well as their stewed oxtail. It is a bit of a “hole in the wall” in the sense that you might just walk right by and not give it a second thought but this place is amazing. The food was great. The staff was so helpful and kind. The prices are reasonable and it isn’t in a crazy tourist spot. Worth the visit. I would keep this gem to myself but you should definitely go and experience this place. They have a stage and show set up and I hear the shows there are awesome. If you’re in the area go on over.

We went twice while we were on Lisbon (10days) because it was so good.
The atmosphere is relaxed, and the place is filled with locals. The staff is passionate and crazy in the best sense of the word.
Good food menu, interesting wine list.
Tip: just tell them to give you whatever is good!! These people know what they're on about.

I would highly recommend heading along to Damas. Book ahead and this place gets busy (because it’s so good)! Staff are lovely, food is delicious and the price is fantastic. We went back twice on our visit to Lisbon, finishing the trip there so we could end the trip on a great high! 12/10

Já fui ao Damas algumas vezes, sobretudo ao Domingo à tarde, a comida é razoável e os preços equilibrados. O atendimento nunca foi excepcional mas hoje ultrapassou o limite da má educação, sendo que o local abre às 5 da tarde e que chegamos lá já passava das 5:30, a janela estava aberta, as mesas preparadas e estavam pessoas a comer no interior, como a porta estava fechada nós perguntamos se estava fechado, ao que me respondem da mesa em que estavam a comer "a porta está fechada, não está?", como é óbvio nós devíamos ter percebido logo isso porque uma porta não se pode fechar com uma corrente de ar e que quem estava a comer naquele momento era o staff. Não somos muito chatos e não esperamos ser tratados como realeza mas de boa educação não prescindimos.

Péssimo atendimento, comida má e pouca limpeza. Efetuamos uma reclamação e fomos tratadas com arrogância e muito pouco profissionalismo. É de facto um dos piores restaurantes que estive.
A arrogância, a falta de profissionalismo e a antipatia foi imensa quando dissemos na brincadeira que podiam encher o copo de vinho mais um bocadinho (vinho a copo).
No final da reclamação e quando fomos agradecer a uma das empregadas pela sua simpatia (uma Francesa), a gerente e todos os empregados( literalmente todos) estavam a rir enquanto liam a reclamação... uma vergonha...
Fomos terminar o jantar, ou seja, comer a sobremesa , no restaurante A má língua... que contraste e que bom podermos terminar a noite bem...

We arrived early around 7.30pm and were the second table to be seated. So no queue or wait time. The menu is on the wall and all in Portuguese. But the staff will help to understand if you have any trouble. We went for a variety of smaller dishes so that we could taste more. Among our favorites were the tuna ceviche as well as the hummus. The staff are friendly and the whole place is very alternative. Go here for a different experience, good food and drinks.

This place is terrible for tourists. They simply ignore you and serve locala that come in much later first. We left after 15 min without any waiter talking to us. The only thing we got was a nod regarding the table we pointed at when walking in. If you're a tourist, don't go here.

Portugal é um país com uso de drogas descriminalizado. Ótimo.
À noite no Damas, as pessoas estão sob efeito de sintéticos que podem causar mal eterno devido a má fabricação; outras várias estão simplesmente jogadas no corredor de tanto álcool a receber tapas na cara para quiçá acordarem; outras fumam hashish com tabaco e se escondem em meio aos fumantes de nicotina.
Eu não sou contra nada disso, pelo contrário, agradeço à descriminalização e estava lá a fumar minha erva orgânica, a menos mal de todas drogas supracitadas... Fui expulso do local por causa disso... faz sentido? Nenhum.
Staff estúpida ainda me tratou extremamente mal, não teve o mínimo de consideração!!
Não voltarei, quero ser aceito como aceito os outros.

High expectations because of high ratings but results were very disappointing. Inefficient kitchen, appetizer received after main dishes which came out separately, no flavor what-so-ever. And the tasteless guacamole was 6 eur for what seemed only half an avocado.

As 3 estrelas vão para a comida, que é boa, pelo espaço e pelos concertos gratuitos. Atendimento razoável. A simpatia depende se estão bem dispostos ou depende do funcionário. Os clientes vão beber e fumar para a rua, deixando a rua muito suja de beatas de cigarros e copos de plástico. Os funcionários deixam sacos de lixo enormes ao Domingo na rua, e nesse dia não há recolha de lixo. O lixo fica a segunda feira toda na rua até vir a recolha, à noite, porque o bar está fechado às segundas feiras. Este aspecto da limpeza não me dá vontade de lá ir.

Awesome evening, excellent food and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend the tuna tartare, if you like raw fish! Ended up staying for drinks as it turns into a club after hours. Cool bar/restaurant, although it can be quite crowded and noisy. There's a dance floor on the back. They serve locally brewed beer. If there is no room inside people also grab a beer and stay outside talking.

We arrived last minute and was very busy, the waitress found us a table immediately and assisted us all night translating the menu.
The food is excellent so is the wine at a very affordable price. We had a great time this place is a MUST GO.

Ambiente muito simpático e boa onda. O espaço da antiga fábrica é fragmentado e agradável. A música é, em 90% das vezes, muito boa, com DJs fora do circuito comercial. Bebidas dentro de um preço aceitável e wc sempre lindo. Staff super educado. A não perder!

Great place in Lisbon slightly off the beaten tourist path. Really good food with an open kitchen and a nice room in the back for concerts and art events. Definitely worth it!
