Very nice,cozy rooms and clean bathrooms.Reception staff are all very friendly and helpful. Hostel is in a very central location within walking distance to many attractions,shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend.

La comida de mamá. Realmente se siente uno como en casa en la zona del lobby. Hay netflix, play, buena música, juegos. Es muy agradable el lugar. Y un excelente bar.

Alles tipptopp, tolle Lage und unkompliziertes jugendliches Ambiente. Nur das Zimmer war etwas klein, ohne Kleiderbügel/Aufhängemöglichkeit. Einfaches gutes Frühstück.

위치가 정말 너무 좋고 6인실이었는데도 침대에 커튼이나 높은 가림벽이 있는 등 개인 공간이 잘 마련되어 있었어요
화장실과 샤워실은 복도에 있고 건물에 엘리베이터도 있어요
나무 바닥이라 그런지 작게 걸어도 소리가 크게 나고
쿵쿵 울려서 자다 깨고 그랬어요
조식은 €3에 이용가능한데 그렇게 추천하진않아요

Bestes Hostel ever. Ich fühle mich wie Zuhause. Es ist Preiswert und sehr sauber. Das Personal ist super nett, hilfsbereit und offen. Mama die Hostel Mama ist ebenso sehe herzlich und liebevoll und die Idee des Dinners für alle bringt alle zusammen und eine tolle Atmosphäre. ❤❤❤

Perfectly located in a great area of Lisbon, the Home Hostel is an excellent value that provides an outstanding staff, comfortable and clean facilities and a fun environment. The hostel has had major renovations and offers excellent beds and new bathrooms. OK, the bottom line is that you cannot go wrong with staying here. I did their Sintra tour and had a great time. Ate a few meals that were lovingly prepared by Momma that provide you an opportunity to eat true home Portuguese cooking and a chance to meet fellow travelers. Additionally they offer city tours for free (which are excellent).

Nice and very warm place with fantastic staff. Owner made from an old building with huge rooms an lovely and cozy place. Owner also makes tasty dinners. They can give you a lot of information what to do and where. Also they organize some activities. It is a real home. Breakfast for 3 euros and dinner for 10.

Loved it here, very cute and clean. Places that feature a home-cooked meal for the guests are gold, and you're guaranteed to make a couple friends at dinner alone. Even if you opt out, it was so easy to talk to people around the lounge and bar area.

Wspaniały hostel, który przewyższa oczekiwania :) rodzinna atmosfera, wszystko dostępne na miejscu, od jedzenia po wycieczki. Wieczorami gotuje mamma i wspólnie z innymi lokatorami z całego świata można zjeść kolacje :) polecam 10/10

I stayed in this hostel last weekend and absolutely loved it!! the staff is so friendly and helpful, it is cery clean, and the hostel offers so many cool tours! if you stay here, you HAVE to try mama's dinner at least once. the experience was amazing and i would absolutely stay here again!!

A fantastic place with fabulous staff and the incredible Mama's dinner. The location is perfect, close to any place in Lisbon you'd want to visit. A big storage space for even a big bag in the room itself. Cosy interiors and the best, the best Sintra tour. The vibe is awesome and you'll regret not staying here.

Being a guest to Portugal? No, it’s like home for a tourist in Portugal! Food here definitely deserves your showing up. The atmosphere in the hostel also great and warm. The location was also in a very safe and convenient spot. Good for everyone.

Probably the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Staff is friendly and welcoming without being bothersome, really do their best to make you feel at home. The hostel organizes daily walking tours and trips to Sintra & Caba de Roca. Both of our guides for these days (Liliane for the walking tour and Francisco for Sintra) were passionate, filled with good stories and overall great company. The owner's mother comes in every day to cook dinner for anyone that wants - and you can tell she has been doing it for a while, definitely try it at least once.
I took my parents because I wanted them to experience hostel life at least once, and they say they will never go back to boring hotels.

Nice hotel in an awesome location. The rooms are cozy, the staff really welcoming, and the ambiance is great. The only problem was that the air in the rooms could not manage to heat the room.

Almost perfect. Excellent service and facilities. WiFi works also well and they clean the room and change the towels every day.
But everywhere including room and lobby except for kitchen and toilet is very dark to work, or read something.
In total, I'm quite satisfied with and even impressed by this hostel :)

Not much new to add. This place is beyond great, mainly due to all of the staff who work really hard to make this place so welcoming and keep it in good shape. A special mention for the cleaners and cooking assistants who operate behind the scenes.

Perfect hostel for a short (or even longer) stay, as you get to know lovely people and the city in no time - due to numerous offers like e.g. tip-based walking tours. Everything was tidy and clean (even in the mixed dorm), not too noisy but still lively.

I had a wonderful time here and it's probably the best hostel I stayed at. The rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfy, you have a large drawer for your belongings, and most importantly, the bathrooms are very clean. The bedrooms are on the upper floors so it's always very quiet. The staff are very friendly and they can give you a lot of great tips about Lisbon. Make sure you try Mama's dinner at least once. The food and company is great.

1박에 20유로 도시세 2유로해서 22유로에 묵었습니다. 바닥이 나무라 약간 삐걱거리는 것과 침대가 약간 삐걱거리는 것 빼곤 모두 다 만족했습니다. 조식은 3유론데 꼭 드세요. 3~4 종류의 빵, 스크램블에그, 소시지, 버섯 볶은 것, 차(커피), 과일, 요거트 다양하게 즐길 수 있습니다. 저녁에는 마마스 키친이라고해서 전채 메인 후식으로 10유로 정도에 제공되는데 나쁘지 않습니다. 그리고 호스텔 근방을 돌아보는 워킹투어를 진행하는데 좋았어요. 역사적 배경에 관심있으면 들으시길 추천드립니다. 영어로 진행되고 팁 요구하지 않습니다. 레스토랑과 에그타르트 집도 추천 받아서 갔는데 좋았습니다. 위치도 나쁘진 않지만 공항에서 갈 때는 택시타시는 걸 추천드립니다. 지하철역에서 5분 정도 가야되는데 도보가 울퉁불퉁해요.

Hôtel auberge très bien situé. Ambiance sympa, chambre spacieuse avec salle de bain. Literie extra confortable. Personnel sympa ! Rien a redire sur la chambre ...
Par contre, inutile de payer pour le petit déjeuner, l'espace de vie n'est pas suffisamment dimensionné pour que tout le monde puisse s'y installer. De plus, la qualité n'est pas au rendez vous. Je vous conseille de déjeuner au rez de chaussé : fruit et jus frais et maison, céréales, toast, ...
Enfin, l'hôtel a misé sur des portes anti-incendies et effractions. Elles sont lourdes et lorsqu'elles claquent, les 4 étages de l'hôtel résonnent. Autant vous dire que passé minuit les fêtard qui rentrent vous réveillent et dès 07h00 du matin, votre journée commence ...

L’endroit est très propre, l’accueil y est chaleureux. Ils proposent des activités, des repas préparés par la mama.
J’ai moins aimé le côté hôtel avec trop de chambres et là mienne était à l’opposé des commodités et de la salle de bain .

Unglaublich nette Rezeption, hilft bei allen Lebens- und Lissabonfragen. Zimmer sind einigermaßen geräumig und man kann in Fächern unter der Betten die Taschen/Rucksäcke einschließen (Vorhängeschloss mitnehmen). Außerdem gibt es jeden Abend ein gemeinsames Abendessen für 10,- von Mama gekocht. Zusätzlich findet jeden Abend für 12,- € ein Pubcrawl statt.
Das Hostel liegt sehr gut an zwei U-Bahn-Haltestellen.

Amazing staff. Mama’s dinner is delicious. It’s a 3 course meal with unlimited beer or Sangria throughout dinner for 12 Euros. Take the walking tour and the trip to Sintra. The pub crawls are a blast.

Great hostel! Very social, great location. They offer a day tour of Sintra which is fantastic and only 25 euro. Sign up early as it fills up. Also, do the dinner! Try the brunch spot downstairs of you get a chance, it's fantastic.

I would recommend this hostel to absolutely everyone traveling in Lisbon. The staff are incredibly friendly and really make an effort to get to know you. I can definitely see why this hostel has such great ratings. Everything about it was fantastic, I felt really welcome from the first moment I arrived, all the facilities were great and they had proper bunk beds. Great "home" to have an amazing time in beautiful Lisbon!

Apartamento muy bueno, estuve en el 3E, a pesar de ser interior, buena luz, muy cómodo, todo como nos lo habían ofrecido en internet, el sistema desatendido una maravilla ningún problema con las claves.

This hostel may be slightly more expensive than the other places around, but it is soo worth it ! Amazing staff, perfect location, good mattress, huge storage under the bunk beds, elevator , clean facilities, lovely lounge with comfy lounge. Cheap beers with Happy hour, you can have breakfast there which is okay for 3€, a 3 course home made dinner with free unlimited wine and beers for 10€. You can borrow towels with a deposit of 5 ! They also organize a pub crawls every night , and if you don't feel like going out, they have plenty of sofas, with a huge screen and load of moviiiies ! I will definitely come back there

Location, price, cleanliness, quality, and all the extras little events happening there/nearby. All top-notch. Make sure to do Mamma's Dinner! That was the icing on the cake.

First hostel stayed at ever, and the bar was set unbelievably high. Absolutely amazing staff, guests, and atmosphere. Who knew that a random adventure leading to Home Hostel would give me one of the best experiences of my life. Not saying there's a guarantee that everyone will agree, but I think the best review I could leave is just a blunt one: the name fits. Go on this guided tour.

1. 위치가 정말 좋다
- 바닷가도 걸어서 5분, 호시우광장도 걸어서 5분, 신시가지 안에 있어서 쇼핑은 건물만 나가도 할 수 있어요.
2. 1층에서 엘리베이터를 탈 때 계단 5-6개정도를 올라가야 엘리베이터를 탈 수 있는데, 혹시 짐이 무거우면 텔레폰으로 도움을 요청 할 수 있어요.
3. 디너나 해피아워에 참석하지 않는다면 리셉션에 못갈 것 같은 분위기
- 좋게말하면 손님들의 참여도가 높고 분위기가 좋다는 것이지만, 저는 둘 다 참여하지 않았는데 그 시간에 리셉션에 가면 '넌 참여 안하니깐 리셉션에 오면 안되' 같은 분위기...? 그래서 그 시간 피해서 리셉션이나 주방 갔던거같아요ㅠ
4. 야간버스타고 아침 7시쯤 도착했는데 리셉션 옆에 거실에서 체크인 하는 3시까지 쉴 수 있게 해주셨어요

The location is the best possible in the city center near most of the main landmarks in Lisbon. The people of the hostel is very friendly and they will help you with any kind of question you have. The breakfast is very cheap and abundant so I strongly suggest anyone to take it. The rooms are big enough and equipped with AC. The beds are comfy and with a lover to leave your luggage. The overall experience was really nice.

Маленькая, аккуратная гостиница. Очень приветливый коллектив. Нам достался номер без шкафа, без тумбочек. В общем нужно уточнять этот момент, если у вас куча вещей как у нас например))) а три звезды потому что на сутки выключили горячую воду. И в ванной комнате были грязные полы. А в целом очень хорошее место.

¡Atención! Aviso a navegantes.
Queremos compartir con todos los usuarios nuestra experiencia con esta gente. Escogimos este "apartamento" por las opiniones positivas que presentaban.
Después de realizar la reserva y avisar la hora aproximada de llegada, llegamos al lugar y resulta que no había nadie para atender. Es más, en el portal simplemente aparecía pintado a rotulador "brutus". Después de intentar ponernos varias veces en contacto, conseguimos comunicarnos y nos dicen que esperemos al menos una hora, que están trabajando en el restaurante.
Esto, después de viajar más de ochocientos kilometros. Le solicitamos que nos enviara la ubicación del restaurante y resulta que el lugar en si era un parque infantal, tal cual´.
Después de más de dos horas de espera, tuvimos que hacer otra reserva en un hotel que no era mucho más caro la verdad. Cuando ya estábamos alojados, nos llama la mujer del dueño (Joao) y nos dice que donde estamos. Después de explicarle la situación, casi a las 21:00 de la noche, la mujer se enfadó y nos acabó colgando el teléfono.
Al final, nos quedamos sin apartamento y sin dinero (300 €). Si tuviéramos que calificar nuestra experiencia sería de 0 sobre 10. Si volvemos a Lisboa, sería el último lugar donde realizar una reserva.

The best Hostel I have ever stayed in! This place is more like a hotel with shared rooms; very clean rooms and common areas with great vibe. They offer free walking tours in the morning and have an amazing dinner with all u can drink option for only e10. Location is amazing and right in the middle of old Lisbon. Highly recommended and I will definitely go back.

I've stayed at a lot of hostel, and this is definitely one of the most welcoming. The nightly dinners cooked by momma are a treat. Rooms were well kept. Staff were very nice. The group was very social, but I wouldn't call it a "party hostel" if that's what you're looking for.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour (3 nuits). L'hostel occupe un beau bâtiment d'époque. Tous les espaces sont très propres.La chambre était parfaite, très agréablement meublée et rénovée avec goût et qualité. L'aménagement des aires communes est soigné avec entre autres de beaux objets anciens et de famille. Le personnel est professionnel, dévoué et très accueillant. Nous reviendrons au Home Lisbon Hostel lors d'un prochain voyage à Lisbonne.

I really felt like home, safe and welcome in this hostel. Beautiful, sparkling clean, centrally located and with friendly professional staff... I could not have asked for more! Highly recommended, including a delicious breakfast when booked directly, and "dinner with mama" is not to be missed :-D
Mi sono sentita davvero a casa e accolta con calore in questo ostello. Bello, impeccabilmente pulito, in posizione centrale e con staff gentile e professionale... Non avrei potuto chiedere di meglio! Caldamente consigliato; se prenotato direttamente sul sito include un'ottima colazione; da non perdere anche la cena con mamma :-D

Home Lisbon was the first hostel I stayed at in Europe, and having since experienced other hostels, I can say that Home set the bar very high. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, the place is spotless and the beds are actually pretty cozy. I also did Mama's Dinner a couple times, which is a great way to meet other people at the hostel. Overall wonderful experience!

This was my first time staying at a hostel solo so I searched long and hard for a one that would feel comfortable and welcoming. Home Lisbon Hostel was amazing! I wasn’t in Lisbon long unfortunately, just for an overnight layover on my flight from Italy, but I will certainly be back and this hostel will be my first choice. I had the dinner made by mamma which was delicious, and came with beer or wine as well. It was a very social hostel and I was able to meet other travelers at dinner as well as at an impromptu open mic afterwards. I had a great night sleep before leaving for my flight home the next morning as well. Overall 10 out of 10 for me!

Ungewoehnliches Flair, internationale junge Gaeste, man fuehlt sich einfach wohl, am Abend kocht Mama das Essen um 10 Euro inkl. Getraenke, Service perfekt, aber nichts fuer Spiesser. Jammerer und Besserwisser haben hier nichts verloren.

Uno de los mejores hostels que fui en Europa. Me quedé en la habitación compartida de 6 camas en el piso únicamente femenino. El baño y la habitación estaban impecables. El desayuno era muy bueno y estaba incluido porque reservé el hostel desde su página oficial.
Todo el personal MUY amable y MUY buena onda. Nunca me atendieron tan bien y me ayudaron tanto.
Pero lo mejor de todo fueron las cenas de Mamá! La comida exquisita, con barra libre, y mamá fue muy amable. Me encantó el ambiente porque podías conocer gente y charlar sin que sea un party hostel ruidoso. De hecho, aunque el cuarto estaba en el mismo piso que el bar no se escuchaba nada y dormí siempre muy bien. La calefacción también se podía regular individualmente desde la habitación.

All the other reviews have it well explained. Great location. Lovely staff. Home made dinner cooked by the owners mum for almost nothing with wine included. Clean, hot water, clean sheets and the restaurant downstairs has delicious vegan food and açai! Highly recommended.

Home Lisbon Hostel really speaks up to that homey vibe. The staff are friendly and always ready for all queries, and of course, Mamma's dinner was superb!
Rooms and washrooms are always clean.
Their tour offers are also well worth it.
Their location is so central and very handy - almost close to all usual touristy spots.
The experience all in all was awesome and I look forward to staying there again. They are renovating soon so watch out for an even greater experience. Highly recommended!

Very nicely decorated and exceptionally clean!! There was one female receptionist on my arrival that left me standing with not even a greeting for an absurd amount of time while she took a call. Another lady came along and was PHENOMENAL !! She hugged and kissed me, gave me a tour of the place, offered me a free beer, gave me a free towel and a breakfast voucher. She was a SUPER breath of fresh air after missing my flight back to the USA and I thank her deeply for making me feel......❤❤ AT HOME ❤❤

Minha experiência no hostel foi a melhor possível. Pessoal muito simpático e alegre, instalações confortáveis, acolhedoras e belas. Realmente amei!
A única observação que tenho é com relação ao horário em que é oferecido o tour a Sintra. Penso que a saída para o tour deveria ser de manhã (por volta das 10h30) para que ele seja melhor aproveitado.

This is the nicest Hostel I've stayed at. The rooms were nice sized and clean. The whole place is well-run and staffed with very helpful people. Plus, you can't be its central location. Seriously... just go book your room/bed now and stop looking at reviews. You won't regret it. Go!

I rarely stay in Hostels, and I am so glad I did this time. I loved the space the minute I walked in. Sebastaõ and Gonçalo checked me in and made me feel so welcome.
The place is spotless and cleaned daily from top to bottom. I spent a whole week at the Hostel and felt safe and secure. The Hostel crew staff was excellent; everybody was so friendly, welcoming and helpful from the management, the cooks to the housekeeping.
Great location in the historic centre, just a 10 minutes walk to the Bairro Alto (great for nightlife, and to listen to Fado). You also have access to public transports (buses, tram and metro), and a multitude of coffee shops, retails shops, and restaurants.
It's a 40 mins journey (door to door) on the metro from the airport - get off at the Station Baixo- Chiado which is a 6 mins walk to the Hostel.
Now, let's talk about the jewel of this place - the Amazing Mama. I wish I could carefully pack her in my suitcase and take her home with me. Mama reminds me of my mom, petite, mighty and caring, and her food is simply delicious #foodporn
Nights are fun guests, and staff mingle around the bar. I strongly recommend this place.

Bisher das beste Hostel, dass ich besucht habe. Sehr nette Angestellte. Saubere und hochwertige Ausstattung. Frühstück im Preis enthalten. Mitten in der Stadt, mit Bar und Möglichkeit zum gemeinsamen Abendessen. Es werden Ausflüge und weiteres angeboten.
Handtücher und Schlösser kann man sich gegen Pfand ausleihen.

I have been here many times and always wish to stay more time than I booked for! The hostel is always improving. The new ladies only part of the hostel is very nice. The breakfast is unbelievably good. Mama's dinner is even better than breakfast. The perfect location for holidays.

O hostel é muito bem localizado, as pessoas são muito simpáticas e tem ótimas infraestruturas. Os únicos pontos maus foram o grande desconforto da almofada (aconselho seriamente a trocarem porque as 3 pessoas que estavam comigo tiveram exatamente a mesma opinião) e a luz do detetor de fumo que não parava de piscar e que, a quem é sensível à luz como eu, impossibilitou uma noite bem dormida.

Its the best hostel Ive ever stayed in. All facilities are clean and new. Its very important to me that a bathroom is clean. Bed is large. Many activities for people to socialise with others. You can have breakfast and dinner in the hostel at extra cost. Breakfast is basic continental breakfast. But dinner is really really good, especially the soup which I can still remember the good taste. And you can make friends during dinner. They also offer some activities such as visit to Sintra and walking tour.

Nice decor, friendly staff, central location, comfy beds. Spent three nights here and wish I'd booked a little longer. Walking tour from the hostel around Alfama with Lilliana was fun and informative. Mama's dinner is a nice way to meet fellow travellers and is good value. Recommend highly.

Very warm welcome.
As a solo traveler is this a perfect hostel to get to know new people at the late evening dinners.
Perfectly cooked by 'la Mama'. The dinner was amazing, you got soup, head dishes and a dessert for only 10 euros.

At this hostel you'll feel welcomed. Wooden, cosy interior, perfect location in the city centre. But most importantly thanks to dinner served to guests - you can easly find new friends if you feel like it. Brakfast was really tasty, served in a spacious dining room. Highly recommended!

This hostel was one of the best hostel I have stayed at Europe. The place is very clean, nicely renovated and amazing location (right in the centre of the city). It also runs different tours to sintra and in the city itself at affordable price. Breakfast is 3 euros, and dinner is 10 euros (highly recommend dinner)! Drinks are 2 euros and pub crawl is 15 euros.
Very amazing hostel! Note: the general population of this hostel is older around 25+, you can meet party people, but also a very chill place to stay.

Globalement, établissement très bien situé, cadre très sympa, excellent accueil, prix attractif, personnel et direction super attentionnés, repas collectif le soir extra.
Point à améliorer : l'odeur (chimique ?) dans le couloir du 4ème étage, la "propreté" sous les urinoirs et surtout la puanteur dans les sanitaires hommes du 4ème étage.
Si ce point est amélioré, j'y retournerai très volontiers lors de mon prochain séjour en mars.

Tive uma ótima estadia! A recepção é sempre atenciosa e pronta a nos atender, os quartos e banheiros estão sempre limpos, as camas são confortáveis e espaçosas. O hostel ainda promove passeios turísticos como caminhada pelo Alfama e ida a Sintra, além de jantares deliciosos a preços muito acessíveis. A localização também é ponto forte, bem ao centro antigo de Lisboa!!!

1. No wifi - Hostel rooms don't get wifi signals. When I asked about it, the receptionist said all others are getting. I asked the roommates they said they also don't have wifi.
2. Have some hidden charges - First time I am experiencing, paying the extra amount than the amount shown in the time of booking from HostelWorld. At the time of booking it shown 69 euros, I paid there 104 euros (I added one more day after I reached Lisbon), but it should be 85 euros. When I asked they said its a tourist tax. I have not given any extra amount like this before.
3.No 2 pin charging point access near to bed - They have an only USB charging point for the phone on the bed, which I felt not that great because it is very slow charging and mine was a USB Type C charger, I could not use it. They have other two 2 pin plugging points which were far from the bed, I used that.
4. In the ad, they said free breakfast - Breakfast costs 3 euros, they could have said that way. But the breakfast was great, even though it was same for every day.
5. The hostel is really clean and the location is very near to the city centre and they have enough space to provide for storage

This was my fourth time in this same hostel and not the last. Everything there is well thought of, even in dorms you have privacy, and it's calm and clean. Very good location too.
This hostel earned all their high ratings.
My only wish is to have more hooks to hang towels and jackets in the dorms.

This hostel is the best place I've ever stayed, period. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Guests are super friendly, open, and willing to chat - had great conversations & friendships. Mama's Dinner, which is served at the hostel every night, is delicious. Breakfast in the morning is a buffet for only 3 euros, and it is also very good. There is a room to hang out and socialize, a TV/quiet room, a kitchen you can cook in and store food - really everything you could need. Very cool and fun vibes overall. Would highly recommend!

Auberge de jeunesse avec dortoirs et chambre avec salle de bain privative...donc pour tous les goûts! Et pas de soucis pour rester dans l'intimité si souhaité!
Tout était bien: situé à deux pas de la rue principale, entre bairro alto et alafama, chouette décoration vintage, réception h24, bar avec happy hour, chambre propre, salle de bain privative propre, petit déjeuner varié et a volonté, personnel sympa et disponible.
Honnetement, rien à reprocher durant notre séjour meme pas le prix !
Nous y retournerions sans hésitation!

같은 방쓰는 사람이 안씻는지 냄새가 너무 심해서 한 이틀 참다가 이러다간 죽겠다 싶어서 리셉션 가서 미안한데 방 바꿔줄 수 있냐고 물어봤더니 친절하게 바꿔 줬어요. 안바꿔주거나 침대만 바꾸는데도 돈 받는 곳도 많은데.... 너무 고마웠습니다. 정말 코가 아플정도였거든요...
침구류와 화장실은 매우 깨끗합니다. 관리 대충하는 호스텔은 침구류에서 냄새 나는 경우도 종종 있는데 여기는 향기? 섬유 유연제 냄새가 났어요.
다만 바닥 재질이 나무라 소음이 심하며 방음이 잘 안된다는 단점이 있어요
위치는 최상입니다. 대중교통도 가까이에 있고 광장이나 성당 등이 도보로 이동할 수 있을 정도로 가까이에 있어요.

Loved my stay. Met some wonderful people. Only complaint is that my key fob didn’t work on most days. And everyday I walk up to my floor only to notice my key not work on the door. Then I would have to go down to reception again for them to fix it. But the same thing would happen the next day.

First time at a hostel and it was so great. Beds are comfy. The staff was friendly, chill, fun and soo helpful!! The walking tours were great - Lily killed it! The people staying were awesome. The dinners are dope. It’s a really fun place. Also felt super safe and everything was clean. All in all absolutely no complaints. I’m so happy I stayed there and I would 100% book again. Obrigada!

Horrible. I was there for 3 days and 3 nights. I stayed in the all girls dorm and we had one toilet and one shower for 20 girls. They were all under construction apparently. And the compensation was free breakfast. The breakfast by the way is €3. In the evening you had to buzz a couple times before they opened the door because they were busy pouring people beer at the bar. I went to them twice to ask about what there is to see in the area and any suggestions they had. Useless, they didn't want to help you they just stood behind the bar the entire time. This place is a hotel. There's no community, they really don't care because you already paid. And the bathrooms on the 4th floor are absolutely disgusting. Just go somewhere else.

A nice and cozy hotel/hostel in a good location. The staff are friendly, the room was nice and breakfast was good. The only complain I have were the different smells. Both the entrance and our room smelled strongly like a perfume store, except if the perfume store didn't sell perfumes but cleaners with a melon smell.

This place far exceeded my expectations!!! Beautiful building, best location, and amazing staff! They offer wonderful activities for a good price, I definitely suggest Mama’s dinner for 10€, it’s an amazing social gathering with all you can eat and drink. Definitely do the free walking tour sometime at the beginning of your stay, so informational. Everything you’ll want to do, see or eat is within walking distance or jump on the train/bus and you’ll be there in no time. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly and beautiful. I will say the wifi wouldn’t work for a few of us our entire stay but we were so satisfied with everything else it didn’t affect our experience(just have a good data plan). Overall, I highly recommend staying at this hostel and I personally can’t wait to return!!

I had an amazing stay at Home Lisbon. However, it is a little difficult to spot from outside. It is definitely not a party hostel, but it has an incredible atmosphere. It is tough to stay here without making at least one friend. I wish they would make the breakfast free, but it is decent value if you're a breakfast person. I am not, so I just put my money towards the 10e dinner. I highly recommend the Sintra trip! Can't wait until I can come back :)

직원들 정말정말정말 너무 친절해요!!! 침대에 개인커튼도 달리고 방도 아주 좋았습니다! 다만 지금(6/10 기준) 엘리베이터 고장으로 리셉션(2층)까지 가방 들고 올라가야하고 방이 있는 곳(4층)까지 또 가방 들고올라가느라 넘나 힘들었음ㅠ
저녁에 마마스디너라고 10유로로 신청하면 저녁식사 제공해주는데 사실 제가 먹은 날은 별로였었서 다음날 신청은 안했었는데 그 날 저녁식사 준비하시는거 보는데 엄청 맛있어보였어요ㅠㅠㅠ

The hostel's reception is on the second floor. Upon arrival this was a bit hard to find. The bedrooms are on the 4th floor. There is an elevator to each floor.
The hostel offers a variety of activities for the guests, not only in Lisbon but also in the region (Sintra, surfing,..). The staff is very helpful.
The common area is on the 2nd floor and has a nice bar and lounge room. Here you also have the opportunity to have breakfast and/or dinner (dinner after reservation). 'Mama's dinner' is a Portugese traditional three course meal (soup, main course and dessert) which is very good and affordable.
The rooms are cozy and neat. The storage space under the bunk is very practical.

One small minus though - top bunk beds don't have partition so when you are in bed you can see room mate opposite you.
I recommend this hostel.

One of the best hostels in Lisbon and therefor one of the best in the world. Great location, customer service, great rooms and bunk bed setup with black out curtains. Home Hostel offers many useful services organizing trips to Sintra. Would recommend to solo travelers especially as it's daily dinner service assists in making new friends.

I stayed at 3 other hostels in Europe (Vienna, Barcelona, Madrid) prior to coming to this one in Lisbon and it was by far the best one. Great location and value, clean, and most important of all, the staff were very warm, welcoming, and nice. I highly recommend this hostel.

Das Hostel liegt mitten in der Innenstadt.
Es wird sehr professionell geführt und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Es wird ein Frühstückbuffet für zwei Euro und ein Abendessen für zehn Euro angeboten.
Außerdem sind die sanitären Einrichtungen saubere und funktionieren gut. Es gibt die Möglichkeit selbst zu kochen, Wäsche zu waschen, an PCs im Internet zu surfen, ein Wohnzimmer mit Fernseher und DVDs und Büchern und einen kleinen Balkon. Das Wifi funktioniert im ganzen Hostel bestens.

Ottimo ostello forse uno dei migliori di tutta lisbona. Accogliente pulito e perfettamente organizzato. Qui mi sono sentito per 3 giorni a casa e ho potuto apprezzare la cura dei locali e l’organizzazione interna. Locato in un punto centrale della città da qui si può andare ovunque.Personale fantastico! Lo consiglierei a chiunque debba passare qualche giorno in questa magica città portoghese.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. I extended my stay, twice. Definitely felt like home for my stay in Lisboa! I enjoyed the group tour to Sintra and the walking tours. Both helped me get a better sense of the area. Mama is darling and her dinners are delicious and well priced for the amount of food you get. Great care is taken to keep the space clean. Would happily recommend this hostel!

The best hostel I have stayed in. Everyone commented on the home-like feel. The dinners were affordable, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The staff were professional, friendly, and engaging. There were plenty of activities organized by the hostel including walking tours, surfing trips, and tours to Sintra. Facilities included a bar, computer room, patio smoking area, full kitchen, a bar area, and a less-loud living room type area. The entire hostel was fantastically clean. The dormitories were quiet and dark in a way that facilitated a good night's sleep but encouraged guests to spend time in the common areas.

Um dos melhores hostels que já fiquei. Todos os atendentes eram muito simpáticos. O quarto era espaçoso, havia armário, tomada e luz em todas as camas. As camas inferiores do beliche possuem cortina. Bons banheiros e facilidades em geral. O café da manhã era bom, há uma boa cozinha e há máquinas de lavar e secar a 3 euros cada. No banheiro masculino havia secador de cabelo e material para se barbear (lâminas descartáveis e creme). Há dois macs para os hóspedes usarem e o hostel possui uma boa programação, com tours e jantares.

L'hostel est idéalement situé au cœur de la ville, facilement accessible et à proximité d'un tas de sites à visiter. L'accueil est chaleureux, l'ambiance jeune, détendue, conviviale et familiale, le personnel est là pour nous aider et nous conseiller et est super sympa. On y parle portugais bien sûr, mais surtout anglais (beaucoup d'étrangers) et un petit peu français. La literie et les sanitaires sont correctes. Je recommande vivement cet hostel sans hésiter et j'y retournerai avec plaisir !

This is the best hostel ever! It's perfectly located, with the nicest staff - always helpful, and with a lovely lady (Mamma) who is cooking a delicious dinner for the guests.
The toilets and showers are clean and the hostel is always smelling nice.

地鐵站到這邊走路可到，是石板路。附近都是露天座位的餐廳，很熱鬧，房間隔音佳，燈光較暗，上下舖的床很穩。公共浴室、廁所、廚房都整理得很乾淨，尤其廚房讓我驚艷到，晚上準備mamma's dinner 打仗般的樣貌，早上馬上恢復整齊乾淨，要特別嘉獎。習慣喝溫熱水的人可跟他們借煮水器，記得禮貌說一聲，第一次借傻傻裝冷水煮，第二次借工作人員幫忙開了水龍頭的熱水讓我裝>< 啊呀！真是傻，人家都環保省電到廁所裝省電裝置了，竟沒幫對方考慮到要省電煮水。此次入住遇到旅館整修，提供免費早餐(麵包、炒蛋、蘑菇、起司火腿片、優格、水果、果汁、咖啡、茶包..)。浴巾借用要押金，退房時會退款。

Super good location und very very friendly staff!! I just arrived there and got two shots of Ginja from the reception as welcome drink. :) The breakfast costs only 2€ and u could get much to eat. Room is clean, toilets and washrooms are clean and tidy as well. U got a curtain for your bed(not for the upper one but the lower one) so u could keep your privacy and u got AIR-CONDITIONER in the room!!! Wi-Fi is also really fast! With such a low price! Just be so satisfied!!!

One of the best hostel's I've ever stayed in. Home Lisbon Hostel is truly "home away from home". The staff was young and very personable and Mamma was adorable! There's hostel trips and free walk tours every day. Mamma's dinner was absolutely delicious and cheap (10 euros for 3 courses plus free beer & wine). Probably the best hostel I have ever been to. Nice and quiet rooms in the heart of Lisboa, a beautiful common area and a 24/7 bar/reception to hang out. The highlight is definitely Mamma's Dinner. Every night, Mamma Cooks for the whole hostel an amazing Portuguese dinner for a small price, including starter, main course, dessert and drinks (and Mamma's round of Port, Ginjinha or Moscatel - remember, it's not a shot!). This is the best chance to meet your fellow travellers and to start the night. Every morning you can get a good breakfast with eggs, bread, fruit, cereals, ham & cheese, tea and coffee. Also, you should definitely go on one of the offered day trips with Joao. I stayed for 8 nights and could have easily stayed longer. Will definitely come back!

兩個晚上含城市稅38歐
房間跟公共區域（浴室、洗手間）非常乾淨，隨時都有人在清理。reception 24小時都有人在，出入則是靠錶腕型磁卡開門。staff各個都超級友善。屋內天花板很高，我在上鋪就算想站起來也沒問題，每個床位有自己的櫃子但是鎖頭請自備，如果真的忘記帶，還是可以在櫃台買個小鎖(€1)。每天都有自由參加的Alfama walking tour，而且我們的解說員非常棒，城市背景、歷史故事都說明得詳細又有趣，如果tour結束之後你還無法決定要做什麼或是不知道去哪裡吃飯，甚至是需要更多的旅遊資訊Pedro都很樂意協助。每週（不是每天喔）還有行程往Belem和Sintra，但因為我的入住日期都剛好無法參加所以沒有再問更詳細的資訊。最後，大力推薦mama's dinner！每日只提供35人份的晚餐，所以記得提早登記。晚餐包含湯、主菜、甜點，全部都是可以一直續的。晚餐開始前，去櫃台領一個杯子，他們會幫你寫上你的名字，除了不容易搞混之外，也方便同桌的大家自我介紹，再所有人用完湯之後，就開始紅白酒無限供應了！（大胃王與酒鬼表示感恩）價錢是物超所值的10歐！hostel所有的員工都會跟大家一起用晚餐，大家一邊吃吃喝喝一邊聊天大約會持續到十點多，如果真的覺得喝不夠，每晚十一點還可以再參加pub crawl，據說會到三四間不同的bar跟club，請做好宿醉的心理準備。

An excellent hostel - wonderful and friendly staff and very clean facilities. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm on the fourth floor (there's a lift but it's slow). Location is very central and the neighbourhood is safe. About 15mins walk to most tourist locations like Sao Jorge castle, Alfama, Timeout Market (Mercado de Reibeira) and Bairro Alto (for night life).
I had Mama's meal on my first night and while it was good value and an easy option it didn't blow me away. Especially not when my main was a bit cold as there were so many people eating they couldn't get the food out quick enough. Breakfast is basic but convenient (cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, breads, yoghurts, coffee, teas) - I was impressed they offered soy milk.

Great hostel! The bottom line is that if you find a free room, book it now! you will not regret.
The hostel is located downtown and the area is full of shops, restaurants and well connected. Taxis are also cheap in the city, so you won't have problems to move around.
The staff are charming and friendly. They try to make you feel as home. On top of that, they organise activities with the guests: social dinners every day, pub crawls, guided tours, surfing, ... Top atmosphere.
I stayed in a 4-beds room with 2 lids, and the bed was confortable. Some of them cracked a little bit when the person moves, but nothing extraordinary. The place is very clean, including bathrooms.
I was positively surprised by the variety and quality of the included breakfast. I would only improve the juices (they were like coloured sugared water) and to replenish the fruit in the basket when is emptying.
This has been the best experience I've ever had in a hostel so far.

Amazing hostel! The beds are amazing! If your looking for a great sleep stay here. Plus the evening dinners are incredible as they serve homemade Portuguese food that includes unlimited beer and wine. It's a great way to get to know the other travellers in the hostel.

A nice welcome with a glass of ginginha. Staff is very nice and always available. Accommodation is comfortable and bathroom is clean. The food is very good, they have dinner every night as well as pub crawls. You can enjoy the break fast for free in the morning before visiting Lisbon with their organized tours.
It is ideally situated in the city center. You can't go wrong if you book your room in this hostal, I highly recommend it.

Definitely the best hostel I've ever stayed in, it was amazing. The location it's perfect, the staff is really friendly and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, with little details that you appreciate. The bathrooms were always clean, the showers had hangers and a little bench. The breakfast was very good, lot of breads, eggs, sausages cheese, hams, cereals, fruits and more. There's also the mom's dinner; you pay 10 euros and get extraordinary food. They also offer free walking tours in the city and tours to nearby places with very good price. It general, the title of "Best Hostel in Europe" it's completely true.

Home Lisbon Hostel has it all. It's located 'downtown', probably 100 meters from the Tagus river, close to some of the best landmarks, museums, important bus stands and railway station. Getting there is easy and getting away is easier still. It's safe, very clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely warm and helpful. They organise economical walking tours, pub visits and visits to nearby towns. The best part of the stay were Mama's home cooked Portuguese dinners where I could meet travellers from all over the world over a long, leisurely meal. If you are lucky enough to find an empty bed, don't wait. Book now!

Met some really great travelers and was surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff was. The home-cooked meals were outstanding. Mamma even made me a gluten free meal when I told her I had an allergy. Prime, central location in an amazing city. Enormous movie collection and PS3 games including FIFA without a rental fee. Daily cleaning of rooms and showers, really can't think of anything to criticize. Very glad I chose this hostel for my entire week in Lisbon. Thank you, Home Lisbon Hostel staff!

TL;DR: By far the best hostel I've ever stayed in, and also one of the cheapest. If you go to Lisbon and choose to stay elsewhere, you're an idiot.
Full review: This is without a doubt the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Reasons it's amazing:
-Location. Not much else to say there, but it's in a very good location.
-The service. The staff is super, super friendly. I felt like they were proud to call Lisbon and Portugal their home, and they wanted to share their wonderful home with the guests. And Mama is just the best. More on that later.
-The rooms. The beds all have their own plug, reading lamp, and the lower bunks have black curtains. The bunks are made of wood with (enormous) lockable drawers for each bed built-in. The furniture feels very high quality.
-Very clean all the time
-The common areas are really nice. They have a huge HDTV, books and movies available to read, iPads available for anybody to use, and the furniture is so comfortable. It's properly decorated, and nothing feels haphazard the way a lot of hostels are. Just like in the rooms, everything feels very high quality.
-Very communal environment. By the bar, there are some small tables but also one big one that everybody sits at, so it's easy to make friends.
-Cheap drinks! Compared to France, where I was living at the time I went there.
-I didn't cook while I was there but the kitchen looked very good.
I literally don't have any cons to list.
And now for the best part ever: Mama's dinner. Six nights a week, Mama (in the pictures) cooks a three course meal for whoever wants any. It costs 10 euros a night, but that's for appetizer, main dish, desert, and with unlimited beer and/or sangria. Everybody sits around a big table, with Mama at the end, and it's really just a very communal atmosphere. Truly brings the hostel together and makes it so easy to have a great time. And the menu is posted on a chalkboard in the main room so you can see what's up and decide if you want to have any or not.
Basically, you shouldn't even think about staying anywhere else. You get a luxury hostel for cheaper than a discount one, with the most communal, friendly atmosphere ever.

Wonderfull Erlebnis. Das Hostel ist sehr gut gelegen direkt in der Innenstadt, es ist sehr sauber und sehr bequem. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Tolle erfahrung und komme ich wieder so bald wie möglich.

Ich habe in diesem November 10 Tage in diesem Hostel verbracht und kann jedem Lissabon-Besucher nur ans Herz legen einige Naechte in diesem wunderbaren Hostel zu verbringen. Es wird euch an nichts mangeln!

Wunderbar gutes hostel mit toller Atmosphäre! Aber es sieht definitiv nicht mehr so aus, wie auf den Bildern! Das haben die komplett umgebaut und es ist wesentlich luxuriöser. Staff fand ich bisschen na ja, aber Mamma hat alles entschädigt!
