Nous avons tombé par hasard sur ce restaurant grâce à la fourchette !
Restaurant très cosí, atypique, très bien placé, personnel très accueillant, les plats sont très bons, le tartare de thon est vraiment incroyable, le Apple pie aussi!

Great restaurant with comfortable seating amd a nice interior. The food is very fresh with great quality ingredients. The wraps and salads are delicious. The apple pie will change your life.

the owner and his staff are great and I did love the location itself - designed with a lot of passion - great place to spend some time.
The Tuna Tartar is a must have - the Bacalhau is a nice interpretation of the traditional and you need to like it.

A place that looks good from the outside but is otherwise mediocre at best. Food is bland, some items are ridiculously overpriced (e.g. EUR5 for a 0.75cl bottle of sparkling water). Won’t find a single local there and I guess that’s no coincidence

Kleines Restaurant in der Altstadt, sehr schönes Ambiente und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Personal ist sehr aufmerksam.. Fleisch und Süßkartoffel war lecker. Portion war knapp und leider waren die Teller kalt, daher war auch das Essen schnell kalt...
Ansonsten gerne alle 5 Sterne...

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und Chef war überheblich auch zu seinem Personal. Touristenfalle!!! Preis Leistung Verhältnis völlig daneben. Brot und käse variation waren in frischhaltefolie eingewickelt und wurden von tisch zu tisch geschoben bis ein gast es bestellt hatte und dann aufwickeln konnte. Der chef war kein Gastronom und unfreundlich. Einfaches um die Ecke viel besser und freundlicher.

Erg mooie inrichting, klein en knus. Heb alleen een koffie gedronken met een stuk carrot cake, koffie matig, cake okay. Zoals te verwachten hoge prijs op deze touristische hotspot. Geen idee hoe het eten is.

Bedienung total überfordert. 20 min auf mein Bier gewartet, dann stellte sich heraus, dass das Bierfass leer war. Auf ein Glas Wein umbestellt, wieder vergessen worden. Chorizo ( 8€) wurde am Tisch flambiert, leider auf der einen Seite verbrannt, da der Kellner die anscheinend vergessen hatte. Konnte nur einen Teil davon essen, trotzdem den vollen Preis bezahlt und keine Entschuldigung, obwohl ich das beim Bezahlen reklamiert habe.
Ich kann dieses Lokal nicht weiter empfehlen!

Easily one of our favorite meals on our trip.
Food: Our entrees were incredible. I ordered the octopus (huge serving!) and my husband has the veal which came with the most delicious potato purée. The “house wine” is quite delicious and especially for the price.
Ambiance: It’s adorable inside. It’s easy to walk right by and miss it because it’s so tiny with a simple door!

Espaço pequeno mas muito acolhedor, funcionários 5 estrelas, comida de comer a chorar por mais, fomos com a bebé e arranjaram-nos o melhor lugar.

In the course of two great weeks in Lisbon I've visited Gosta do Castelo six times. This isn't what I normally do; in a place like Lisbon, which overflows with good eateries, I usually try a new place every night.
As far as I'm concerned, having 27 or so countries under my belt, Gosta do Castelo is as good a restaurant as you are likely to find anywhere on the globe unless you're sufficiently flush to eat only in star-spangeled establishments.
The raw materials are top quality, the dishes are composed and cooked with great skill and finesse, service simply cannot be faulted and the tastes...the tastes are sublime.
I would have loved to stay in Lisbon another week or two and I'm very sad to be leaving tomorrow - and the fact that I've not had the time to work my way all the way through Gosta do Castelo's menu is no small part of that sadness.

È stato il migliore ristorante del nostro soggiorno a Lisbona. Siamo stati a cena per ben due sere. I piatti che abbiamo scelto erano curati, abbondanti e squisiti. Il locale é molto tranquillo e pulito. I titolari sono molto gentili e cordiali. É un ristorante in cui ci torneremo senz'altro e lo consigliamo sicuramente.

We ended up here by chance and I am glad we did because it is hot outside and this cozy place was a welcome oasis with stylish decor, smooth jazz, very friendly service and refreshing gin and tonics! Would definitely recommend!

O cardápio é bem variado e os pratos que experimentei estavam ótimos. O restaurante fica um pouco escondido (na subida para o Castelo de São Jorge), o que dá um ar bem particular. Ele fica aberto até bem tarde da noite, então vale a pena a escolha para um jantar.

Just finished eating and I had to write a review it was so good. I ordered the octopus salad with an IPA and they complimented each other perfectly. The teriyaki salmon with cuscus was also fantastic. I came in a bit early for dinner and it was just me, but nonetheless the atmosphere was quite cosy. Next time I return to Lisbon, I will definitely come back!!

The place is a hidden little restaurant on the side of the São Jorge castle with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is presented in a classy way, but has room for improvement. Great evening nevertheless!

Posto molto carino vicino al castello di Lisbona. Menù interessante, ma le pappardelle (buonissime!) erano due (porzione bambino) ma con un costo molto italiano (12e). Polipo buono ma costoso.

We found this gem accidentally when passing by and looking for a place for dinner and we were truly impressed. Amazing and interesting food, good choice of wine and very nice relaxing atmosphere! Ali is a superstar, his smile and service are just exceptional. Would definitely recommend! Hope to be back to Lisbon and this place one day!

Overpriced for the service and the food.
We found on our table a cheese board (17€)and the owner was not so happy when we rejected it. The menu propose a grilled octopus with vegetables for 24 € a bottle of water for 5€ and a wine for 17€ (real price at supermarket 3€)bad experience!

Habe das Pork mit baked potatoes gegessen und das Fleisch war zwar ein Ticken zu lang gegrillt, aber geschmecklich sehr lecker. Dazu gab es Spinat der wirklich sehr delicious war (bin kein Spinat-Fan). Ein sehr gemütliches Ambiente und viele leckere Weine zur Auswahl, die auch preiswert sind. Freundliche Bedienung und gegen Mittag nicht zu stark besucht.

Absolutely fantastic little place. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who really know their Portuguese wine! Really cozy interior and open kitchen, so you can smell everything cooking and really whet your appetite! We went twice and had the Black Iberian pork (twice), the veal, and the duck. Everything came out perfectly cooked. Better duck than at some of the much fancier places we had eaten at in Lisbon. We will most definitely return next time we are in town. If you go at 8pm or so you should be able to get a table but by 9 it is usually packed.

Great place, the average main price is slightly higher than the others in the area (about €19) but it was worth it. The octopus was amazing (like you'll rarely find somewhere else), the papardelle was great and the quantities were very generous.

Os proprietários nao entendem NADA de hotelaria. De lavandaria passaram a gerir um restaurante.
Cuidado com a limpeza. Por vezes cheira imenso a fritos nas mesas. Não gostei. Sou portuguesa.

Nous avons attendu une éternité.., finalement très bon mais bien trop cher, et 17 euro sur la facture pour le fromage qui était déposé sur la table à notre arrivée... il y a mieux et moins cher à Lisbonne!

La camarera genial, la comida muy bien pero el responsable un poco listo. Tanto con nosotros como con el personal. Tenían un menú cerrado de zumo, plato principal y postre o café por 12€. Pedimos sólo el plato, pero al final decidimos optar por el zumo y el café, además de queso y vino...a la hora de pagar el encargado del bar me dice que no puede hacernos la oferta del menú porque habíamos decidido por solo el plato al principio y que ya lo había metido el la máquina y no podía cambiarlo. ¿Desde cuando una cosa así no se puede modificar? Lo más triste que la diferencia son tres euros cobrado por separado pero la imagen que refleja es decepcionante. Lo siento un montón por el personal pero el jefe un listo y yo a ese tipo de personas independientemente que la comida estuviese aceptable no le vuelvo a dejar ni un duro. Hay que tener más tacto.

Es un sitio pequeño y no tiene una carta muy variada. Lo elegimos porque estaba muy cerca del hotel. Lo mejor sin duda fue el trato del camarero, fue muy atento y agradable. Pero fue un poco decepcionante que no tuvieran algunas cosas de la carta. Con la app del tenedor te hacen un buen descuento.

Super accueil et ambiance très sympa mais plat pas terrible... La salade vraiment huileuse, écœurante à base de quinoa et de petits légumes qui se veut légère à La base (effet raté). Puis La tarte au citron meringuée, La crème citron est trop compacte, immangeable selon moi... menu à 12€ est intéressant mais vraiment pas bon

A very cozy place to enjoy a super delicious starter or main dish! Though not very cheap but the quality matters and I loved my Octopus! Fantastic ambience, lovely staff and a lot of interesting books in the shelves! It was one of my favourite highlights in beautiful Lisboa!

Bon accueil, plats délicieux, prix abordables.
Pour 4 personnes, avec Une bouteille d'un très bon vin blanc sec (Perene, 17€, qui n'est pas sur le liste, il faut le demander au serveur), ça nous est revenu à 124€. Un peu moins qu'un repas ordinaire à Paris, alors. Et il faut tout payer, même le pain et le beurre. Et l'eau, c'est 8€ le litre, pas d'eau de robinet en carafe. Mais les plats sont délicieux, surtout le risotto de espargos et le polo.

Si on vous propose l'entrée qui est déjà sur la table. REFUSEZ.. Sinon, la bouffe est ordinaire.. If you are proposed the appetizer that is already on the table. REFUSE.. Otherwise the fois is acceptable.

We were the only people in there and the service was painfully slow. Once our food finally arrived the portions were very small for the rather expensive pricing. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either.
It was a nice looking place but it felt like they had just opened and had no idea what they were doing which made for a bad experience.

A nicely finished (expensive) restaurant with a happy waiter and two well trained chefs. The space is airy and cool and a nice escape from the heat of Lisbon. Make sure you book for dinner but lunch is relatively quiet. The books are an interesting distraction while you wait for the food.
Wine is lovely and a better price per bottle (for 3) than per glass. Food is lovely, you get what you pay for; if you want to try a modern twist on Portuguese food after going to loads of classic restaurant's around Alfama and Baixa and wanting something modern. Lovely food, well balanced and doesn't over-power the palette but rather is quite comforting.

Très bonne adresse pour s'arrêter manger un morceau après la montée jusqu'au château ! Service et nourriture élaborée et de très bonne qualité, un décor sympathique et insolite à l'abris de l'affluence touristique. Un menu avec plat du jour, boisson et dessert à 12 euros, nous recommandons vivement !

This quite new restaurant is relatively expensive (main dishes between 17 and 23 Euro), but the food is really delicious! We've been there several times and ate something different every time and have always enjoyed it. It's definitely NOT one of these expensive places where you'd get a big plate with little food on it, you'd really be sated.
The service is good and the location very nice. In my opinion it's a place where you'd visit on special occasions, because of the high prices.
Only reason not to earn 5 stars: The wine is too expensive, 6 Euro for a Cup of the House wine is too much (even though it tasted good)

It started out well with a nice cheese board. Really friendly waiter and host.
When we wanted to order we were told that they didn't have the dish and that two others were also not on the card this evening. Would have been nice to know beforehand. My girlfriend took a couple of minutes and then decided on a different dish. It now turned out that they didn't have that one either and the waiter added a couple more dishes to the "not available list". That is just weird behavior and super annoying deciding on something you'd like only to be told "ah ah can't have it".
She ended up ordering the tofu and I got a beef mignion. And to be fair my beef was great.
Her tofu on the other hand was the dullest most uninspiring dish I've ever tasted. It was a small serving of a pan fried fast marinated tofu "beef" cut in slices straight out of the package. It was like the chef had never eaten tofu nor did he want to try it. So why offer it on the menu? If you can't cook vegan/vegetarian and don't want to, then don't pretend - it's just rude. Anyone can fry some vegetables on a pan and pour soy over a piece of tofu but that's not why you go fine dining. That is to experience something new and get inspiration.
We liked the place and we tried hard to enjoy the food but it simply wasn't okay. If I could give 2 1/2 I would do that but this evening there were simply too many mistakes and unfulfilling choices compared to the pricing and what they seemingly strive for at this restaurant.

Net geopend restaurant. Bediening de hele avond bezig geweest om ons in de watten te leggen. De filet mignon met zoete aardappelpuree was van grote klasse!
