We were walking around in Alfama area as one of the ladies in the stores suggested a restaurant with FADO there, but unfortunately we passed near this awful restaurant. The old man in the entrance is used to show friendly face to deceive tourists. These people lie to tourists and say that they have free Fado, which is free in most places in Alfama. The owner Fatima is so aggressive. Also the other old woman there was shouting to the workers there. They took more than an hour to bring the food after we asked them for few times and they kept ignoring us. Everybody already finished eating except us were waiting for so long, and when they brought the food, and there was a mistake as I asked them to replace the salad with rice, then I told the waiter about it, and he took the plate without saying anything. The service was very slow, and the waiters even didn't listen to us when we called them.
Then we decided to leave so we asked for the bill for few times and as usual with them, they ignored us. Finally the owner Fatima brought it showing us a smiley face first, and once I paid her (40 Euros which was too expensive for such a place in Alfama, Portugal), she suddenly started to yell and shouted at me, so I just said it's OK and wanted to leave the restaurant, she followed me to outside and started to say very bad words to me (I know my workers for years, they are really good, and you bitc.… etc) I was so shocked when she did this and I said why are you saying this, your workers are very slow, and I couldn’t even continue and she just came and pointed her finger at my face. I said don’t point your finger at me please, and I tried to leave. She continued saying very bad words and swear, then everybody out side gathered and suddenly I saw her took off her shoes and run to me, she assaulted me physically. Also one of her waiters, helped her and assaulted me physically. I was so shocked. How could they do this! People around tried to prevent her from doing this to me but she was so aggressive and kept saying very bad words to me. I tried to run with my sister and asked people around for the police station, and people told me what happened and I told them the story. People know about her and how bad she is. They said these are very bad people and you should not have gone there. How could we know while we are tourists! I complained to the police and the ministry of tourism. The owner Fatima is very bad person and very big liar as she denied to the police that attacked me physically.
Obviously she and her workers especially look for tourists to rip them off. I travelled a lot around the world, but this is first time such thing happened to me. Please don’t go there! This restaurant should shut down. I’m still shocked and can’t believe what happened to me in Lisbon. I can’t believe that there are such people in life. She is a big criminal and I don’t forgive what she and her waiter did to me. I was so respectful and can’t do what she did. Don’t go there, very bad unfriendly owner, with very bad food, and Fado. My sister felt pain in her stomach in same night and continued till next day. This totally a tourist trap!

O restaurante é pequeno, mas a comida estava saborosa. O jantar com fado ao vivo foi uma experiência típica de Lisboa. Tudo por um preço justo. Se estiver passeando pelo bairro de Alfama, reserve uma mesa, porque são poucos lugares e fica lotado para o início do show às 19:30h.

La comida muy Rica y abundante. Como mucho y me costó terminar la porción. Entramos porque se escuchaba buen fado y en ese momento la chica recepcionista comenzó a cantar más hermoso aún!!!!!!!! Terminó candando unos fados.
El precio es bueno. Te dan tiempo para escuchar fado y para comer lo que has pedido.

Mogę tylko potwierdzić opinie poprzedników- zdecydowanie najsłabsze jedzenie, jakie jedlismy w Lizbonie. Obsługa słaba, pani kelnerka sprawiała wrazenie, ze jest tam za karę. Koncert Fado to raptem odśpiewane trzy utwory. Zdecydowanie nie polecam !!!

Si voleva ascoltare il fado, ma siamo troppo pigri per studiare prima.
Quindi ci tuffiamo nel primo locale che ce lo propone.
Tavoli ai minimi termini, tutti strizzati.
Un menù imprescindibile, caro tutto quello che va oltre i normali piatti principali.
Poi comincia a suonare una coppia di bravi musicisti .
Peccato la cantante sia troppo scenografica.
Pausa per portarci avanti con la cena ed entra in scena Mario Merola de l'alfama: una tragedia.
Chiediamo il conto, un caffè a 3 € e mezzo in Portogallo è una follia, ma in quel momento inizia a cantare Marta Rosa.
Le più belle canzoni sentite in Portogallo.
Meritavano il prezzo della cena.

Nous ne recommandons absolument pas cette adresse. C’est un attrape-touriste.
La nourriture laisse à désirer (surimi dans l’arroz de marisco à 15€ ; plats peu goûteux ; salade sans assaisonnement...) et ce n’est pas donné pour cette qualité médiocre. Le buffet des dessert se trouve juste à côté des toilettes... En ce qui concerne le Fado, nous avons eu deux sessions avec deux chanteurs, si la première chanteuse était très bien, le deuxième chanteur était franchement désagréable... Passez votre chemin, cet endroit ne représente absolument pas ce beau pays !

Sorry to say it but this was by far our worst dining experience in Lisbon. We didn't research the place and that was a big mistake. The seafood (if that is what you call it) stew was a mess and mostly made up of that fake crab meat. The bits of clam and mussels I found were few and far between with zero prawns. The rice was tasteless. We skipped everything else and left in haste. I hate to say what we paid just avoid this place since there are so many other good restuarants.

Nous avons bien mangé et un personnel très sympa MAIS les boissons sont à un prix EXORBITANT, c'est de la folie, 5€ une bouteille d'eau, 7€50 une bière, 20€ une petite bouteille de rosé!!! On y retournera pas, c'est prendre les touristes pour des idiots!

The fado was wonderful!
The food isn‘t bad, but definitely could be better. Go for the fish, they prepare it good. I had the baken cod , was nice. Bit too much oil. My friend had the chicken which wasn‘t that good he said. Nevertheless we spent more hours in the restaurant, enjoyed Fado and wine and had a wonderful evening.

I wish we had read some of these reviews before wandering in off the street to what looked a lovely Portuguese restaurant. Not only were we packed in like the local delicacy, sardines, but were charged €7.50 for a medium beer!! The Fado was ok but did cause some alarm every time the lady started singing...not a gentle introduction to dinner. Dinner was mediocre to say the least. There are much better places elsewhere so keep climbing the steps to find them.

We went to this place with high expectations. We ordered our food and started waiting. When we got our orders the lights went off and saw the lady from the frontyard come in and sing for us after smoking like 6 cigarettes in a row. Good singer after all. The singing went on for five minutes and then the lights went back on. Now we saw what was actually on the plate they bring us. Food was worse than moderate in this neighbourhood. We ate and tried to have a laugh but it was hard so we asked for a check. When we got the check they were charging us for 10 euros each for the singer. The payment was hidden under a beer costing 13,50€ for a large beer (0.5l). Two thumbs down for tourists to visit here.

Comida vulgar y BEBIDA MUY CARA,al pagar nos dijeron que no podíamos pagar con VISA ni MASTER CARD solo tarjeta multibanco o efectivo,increíble en un sitio que estábamos gente de España,Canada,Macedonia,etc...,nos trajeron la cuenta en un papel escrito a bolígrafo y nos hicieron ir al cajero.Si os pasa esto pedir factura ya que son unos listos y quieren escaquearse de la hacienda portuguesa.NO LO RECOMIENDO HAY INFINIDAD DE RESTAURANTES EN LA ZONA MEJORES.

Atroce. A fuir absolument. PIEGE A TOURISTES. Que dire ? L’accueil médiocre, une serveuse qui ne parlait pas vraiment anglais, qui ne comprenait rien a nos demandes, un service très long, nous nous attendions a un super plat a l’arrivée. Ne mangeant pas de viande, j’ai demandé un plat végétarien, inscrit a la carte, on m’a expliqué que cela consistait en des légumes sautés, de la salade et des pommes de terre. A l’arrivée, je reçois un plat de rapé de pommes de terres frites, industrielles, saturées de gras, mélangé avec une espèce de mix de légumes asiatiques. Autant dire que manger des pousses de bambou et des champignons chinois dans un restaurant censé être typiquement portugais laisse a désirer... La salade servie n’était pas assaisonnée. Mes amies ont commandé de la morue, elle est arrivée baignant dans une huile qui n’etait clairement pas de l’huile d’olive, les pommes de terre l’accompagnant étaient seches et sans gout. La bouteille d’eau (boisson la moins chere) était a 5€ le litre, c’était cependant nécessaire pour faire passer ce repas abject.
Quand la serveuse a constaté que nous avions a peine touché nos plats, elle semblait étonnée, nous a demandé si nous n’avions pas aimé. Je lui ai fait remarquer le melange de legumes asiatiques, cela l’a fait rire.
Bref, 50€ pour un repas a 3, a peine mangeable, sans vin, ni dessert, a eviter a tout prix.
Heureusement, le fado était très agréable mais n’a pas suffi a compenser la qualité du repas et du service.

Service was ok - not friendly or welcoming - but most people understood English, thankfully. The appetizer (olives and bread) was not fresh... Both were off. The entree was well-cooked and tasty both for me and my partner. I had the sea bass Portuguese Style and we also ordered the vegetarian dish. The Fado singer was great.

The Fado was unexpectedly utterly brilliant. Atmospheric and mesmerising..the food was just good....but very pricey for the area. Bearing in mind the cost includes such wonderful entertainment we felt it was worth the extra.

Comida de poca calidad y además te timan con la bebida( 5 EUR el agua o 4 por un café). Dicen que es entrada gratis pero la consumición mínima son 15EUR. . No hay gran variedad de platos y son de poca calidad. La sorpresa viene en las bebidas cuando pides la cuenta. La decoración del sitio es auténtica y los fadistas, pues supongo que depende del día. En mi día tampoco valía la pena la actuación de fado. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

TOURIST TRAP! I can’t share enough how disappointing this experience was. I Have travelled through all of Portugal and have a fair understanding of good and bad service in this country but this takes the cake. First, the food was horrible and not a reflection of authentic Portuguese cuisine. The waiters were not fluent in Portuguese or English. They did not take bank cards and no one was notified prior to seating. Table after table I watched guests receive the bill and share the same disappointment of not being told about their payment options. The artists were ok- but seemed over worked as they walked back and forth from the other sister restaurant down the street. The room was gorgeous and if it wasn’t for that I think many of the other patrons would realize the scam. They even had their desert table right beside the bathroom!!! Gross! This was not during high season - I could imagine them adding hidden add on fees during peak-season! Watch out!
Im not one to write bad reviews, instead I rather not. But I really wanted to share this experience if I could stop another person from this scam. We ended up going to another place called “Clube do Fado” - all I can say is amazing!!!!!!
One tip for all fado places, make a reservation!

Cute little restaurant with Fado. After being turned away without reservations at 2 other Fado restaurants on a Saturday night (Our mistake for not planning ahead) we stumbled upon this place that welcomed us in. It filled up quickly. While I will admit that service was a bit slow, 70 people and 2 servers, overall it was good. They do have a 20€ minimum pp. All entree's were 15€. But after the bread and olives (3.50€pp) and water we were there. If you get dessert or cocktails you will definitely meet the minimum anyways. Unlike other reviews stated, there was not a separate fee for butter or for the musicians.
The food was great, I had the pork and clams, while others had the steak and another the ribs. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
The Fado was great, though that was our first experience.
All in all a great evening!

Very disappointed here tonight. We were charged €10 for 2 cokes and €7 cover charge and when we questioned it they said it was to cover the “free” live music... Food was fine but being scammed like that was very annoying. I would avoid.

This restaurant was a big surprise for us. For dinner we had ordered two dishes €15 each and both came perfect. A concert Fado was great. All employees at this restaurant were very professional and nice. Recomend for everybody who wants to spend a nice evening and listen to beautiful music.

Great place to listen to some Fado. They have a nice interior, it is pretty cozy so you can really enjoy a live Fado performance while enjoying some wine. The food is good, with limited but good vegetarian option. The Fado singers really captivate your attention and makes the evening a special one. On weekends they might have good deals as well. They only take cash, no cards.

Porque en casi 2 horas de cena solo han cantado tres fados una cantante que estaba ronca y con pocas ganas de nada. La comida ha tardado en salir una hora con unas casa carta y unos precios en general abusivos café solo 3 € y medio...
Hacía un calor espantoso, sin apenas sitio donde sentarse, las mesas todas pegadas.
En definitiva obligarte a pagar unos precios tan altos con una calidad tan mala para tener tres fados son 2 horas, lo considero una verdadera estafa

Lugar agradable donde los fadistas y los músicos están por encima de la gastronomía. Carta justa y calidad correcta, el bacalao bien elaborado y preparado de bastantes formas. Los precios son los que son por el espectáculo, que es de calidad.

Fado started out okay. My fiancé and I walked in to get a drink and listen to Fado after having dinner. We should’ve researched the place before going because o see now that they already have bad reviews but we were trying to do something spur of the moment. Once the bill came out, our (2) drinks added up to €20, which is absolutely ridiculous and expensive for the area. The host, our waiter, and the head waiter failed to mention that there was a minimum of €15/pp. So, we put €20 on the box and left. The head waiter chased us down the road about half of a mile at least accusing us of not paying the bill, when it seemed to us they made a mistake adding up our bill. We ended up giving him €10 to keep the peace, but it left us feeling cheated. If we had been told this by at least one of the three people we interacted with, we could’ve stayed and had another drink instead of feeling like we lost money. Worst experience ever, but trying not to let this taint our experience in Portugal, because every other place we’ve been to so far is amazing. ABSOLUTE TOURIST TRAP; DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Étant à la recherche d'un restaurant pour écouter la fado nous nous sommes arrêter sur ce restaurant.
Grosse erreur ! Malgré le cadre sympa, mais très peu de fado ( 3 chansons par heure ), une attente d'un minima d'une 1h pour avoir les plats qui était simplement deguelasse .. a tel point que je n'ai pas réussi a toucher mon assiette et que je suis aller manger a macdo après. La serveuse n'avais pas l'air étonné puisqu'elle ne m'a même pas demandé pourquoi l'assiette était intact.
Ah oui j'allais oublier, mauvaise qualité prix , car en plus chère, 5 euros la bouteille d'eau !

Te ocultan los precios de la cerveza (7,50 €) y del agua (5 €) es una estafa.
La comida es pésima, igual que el servicio. Cuando te quejas te responden que hay que pagar el espectáculo, manda narices.

A comida não passa de razoável, fadistas nada de especial, com exceção de uma que cantava bastante bem. Empregada de mesa que só fala inglês. Vinhos caríssimos. Decoração que mistura o tradicional português com o marroquino. Caro para a qualidade. Não repetirei

Desde que nos trajeron el cubierto a cogernos la comanda paso mas de media hora, y despues de terminar el cubierto, hasta el plato princimas nos dio tiempo para escuchar 3 conciertos de fado y visitar sintra. La comida muy muy basica para el precio que tiene, y la sangria vinagre con frutas. En la plaza de comercio al mismo precio pudimos comer mucho mejor. Le. Pongo un 1 porque no se puede poder menos.

Sitio tipico para escuchar FADO, en Lisboa. Zona de Alfama a 10 minutos de la Praça do comercio.
Estuvimos buscando sitio tipico para fado y comer bien ( yo comi Bacalao a Brás) muy rico.
Cantan diversos artistas fado durante la cena. Recomendable ir tempranito todos los restaurantes fe Portugal se llenan a las 20.00( buena hora es esa)El dueño atento y habla español

À fuir! Plats à 15€.... mais ce n’est que le plat! Desserts à volonté à 7,50€ (mais rien de bien traditionnel), bouteille de vin très chère.
Plat de poulpe avec goûts de sardine (a sûrement grillé sur la même grille). Plat de morue avec potatoes surgelés, salade sans assaisonnement et morue très plastique à la mastication (je sais de quoi je parle,je suis d’origine portugaise et habituée à en manger). Serveuse qui ne parlait que Anglais (pas portugais ni français).
Seul point positif: le fado.
Et encore, on était plongé dans le noir, seules des bougies étaient allumées.... c’est bien mais nous ne voyons même pas ce que nous mangions!
Bref.... à éviter absolument. Et en sortant CD de fado en vente!

A ver, llegué a este lugar sólo porque investigué que el fado tiene un barrio y se llama Alfama en Lisboa. De entrada, son l@s que más le pusieron ganas para que dos mexican@s entraran. No obstante, seguimos buscando y como los cuentos circulares, volvimos al mismo lugar. Tuve la oportunidad de escuchar fado de una mujer y su respectivo acompañamiento de guitarra española y portuguesa; un par de voces masculinas, garrafa de sangría de tinto y otra de champagna. ¿Te quieres inspirar para lo que sea? Cáele, lo que en mexicano significa, te estás tardando. La pasarás genial!!!!!

Rien à redire sur la nourriture, c'était correct. 15€ le menu, par contre 25€ la bouteille de vin. Étant en groupe nous n'avons pas fait trop attention au prix... Du coup mauvaise surprise au moment de l'addition !

В целом неплохой ресторан.Тесноват-во время фаду почти все места обычно заняты.Выбор еды не очень большой(нет супов,некоторых популярных напитков)-но туристу найдётся что съесть.Качество пищи приемлемое(ожидали хуже).Для десертов шведский стол.Поют хорошо-но в течение 3 часов было 3 выступления по 10 минут каждое-2 раза по 3 песни и 1 раз-игра на португальской гитаре.Потом перерыв на еду...поэтому показалось несколько затянутым.Минут 20 в час было бы лучше...Цены выше средних по городу(видимо переплата за фаду).Нет русского меню.Начало около 19-00.

Arnaque à touristes!!
Restaurant qui donne l’illusion d’être pas chère avec la carte des plats principaux. Faut attendre voir le prix du vin jusqu’à celui du café à 3,50€ ce qui est inadmissible dans un pays où 1€ c’est la moyenne, en passant pour le désert buffet où il y a pas grand chose.
Lá qualité des plats c’est moyenne.
Seul point positif aux Fadistes.
Mon conseil allez ailleurs, meilleurs restaurants avec aussi des bons chanteurs.

Een echte tourist trap: je moet hier echt puur voor de Fado komen, want van de kwaliteit van het eten moet dit restaurant het echt niet hebben! De kwaliteit van het vlees was abominabel; puur afvalvlees, je zou het een huisdier nog niet voorzetten! Ze zouden de kok op staande voet moeten ontslaan! De prijs van het eten en drinken is veel te hoog!
De Fado is goed, maar kort (veel pauzes). Probeer echt een ander Fado-restaurant, er zijn veel betere in deze wijk.

15 Euro Mindestverzehr, Bier 0,4 Liter 7,50 €. Der Fisch schwamm im Öl und das vermeintliche Schnitzel war eine Art Gulasch mit Zitronenstücken (plus Schale) ungenießbar
Da könnte auch die Fadomusik nichts mehr herausreißen.

Petit restaurant dans l'Alfama, trop de tables pour la taille de l'établissement, si vous êtes mal placés vous devrez vous lever si vos voisins veulent aller aux toilettes (vite embêtant), le chanteur de Fado chante une fois sur deux passages et vend ses CD à la sortie du restaurant. En gros le plus touristique des restaurants de l'Alfama

Poderia dar 5 estrelas para cantores. Mas comida, bebida e algumas garçonetes - 2 é máximo. Café e ginginha são horríveis. Comida muito simples e cara.
Durante a performance não pode fazer barulhos, nem conversar em voz baixo, os artistas ficam muito bravos. Isso dá para entender, mas tinha criança de um dos artista que estava fazendo barulho e ninguém fez nada.

Went here in search for some fado and a good time. Fado was good was a nice performance, sadly they only sang for about 20 minutes each hour. You are charged 15€ for a medium sized dish however your steak is more fat than meat.
Secondly, a drink is about 5 euros (soda water etc etc.) This is at least twice as expensive as anywhere else. (you will not be able to see this on the card outside so be wary)
Furthermore the waiters speak softly and with very little knowledge of the English language (which is uncommon).
To conclude, this might be a place for a one time thing but dont make this your one time fado experience

Tolles Ambiente, gutes Essen, großartiger Fado. Es gab immer wieder kurze Auftritte, bei denen wirklich Wert auf die Musik gelegt wurde. D.h. es dürfte nicht geredet werden! Gut so! Bezahlt wird die tolle Musik - wie in allen vernünftigen Fado Restaurants - über die etwas teureren Getränke.
Dessert ging extra und hätte etwas günstiger sein dürfen.
Wer einen schönen Fado Abend mit Essen haben möchte ist hier genau richtig.

Pésima comida, buen Fado.
Cena pasable a 30€ persona, sin duda el Fado es lo único destacable. El bacalao a bras aceptable, el cochinillo ni se os ocurra pedirlo.
En hora y media en el local da para escuchar dos sesiones de Fado de tres canciones cada una cantada por el personal del local.

It's expensive and they sent us the bill wrong twice. One time they charged us for the big bottle of wine instead of the small one and the other time they put over some other wrong stuff. At the end it was similar to a scam. Despite the nice location I cannot suggest to eat here. The food was normal, nothing special at all.

Very expensive for what is actually poor food and majority of it is freezer food! We stopped here for lunch and the menu and setting looks very nice - we knew it wasn't cheap from the menu but thought that the food would therefore be amazing. We ordered two cokes (€5 each!) and main meal each. The fish is ok in this restaurant but everything else is very poor. I had a chicken salad which consisted of a breaded chicken breast, some lettuce leaves and 5 cherry tomatoes....when they are charging the prices they charge there definately shouldn't be freezer food in sight and a salad should consist of some more ingredients. My husband had shrimp which looked quite impressive as they were 3 big shrimp in garlic sauce and tasted quite good but they came with wedges which again were straight from the freezer. Most disappointing restaurant of the holiday.

Buen ambiente para escuchar Fado y la música entre las presentaciones es amigable. La comida no es espectacular pero esta bien. El precio promedio por plato es de 15€. El vino blanco de la casa es suave y esta al rededor de 10€ los 35Cl.

On our first night in Lisbon, we went here. We hadn't done or homework, and had no way to calibrate. After three days there, I can confidently say: "Stay away". They overcharge for bread (€3.5 per person) and olives (again, per person). The food is so-so. The fado isn't great either.
There are so many great restaurants around Lisbon, definitely do not waste your time on this one.

Very very very bad!!! To expensive, the food is not tasty. I got a sausage with chips. Not home-made chips, no, just from the supermarket. The main dish is 14-15 Euro. Portions are small. The waiters are not friendly and very slow. DON'T DO IT!

We walked by this place and the music was so good we had to go in. The young woman singing had an AMAZING voice and the music was beautiful. My wife had the sardines and I had the pork ribs, both of which were excellent. The service was fine and even the gentleman who seated us took a turn singing, as well as another female singer. They were all fantastic. All around great experience. Highly recommended.

We were walking around in Alfama area as one of the ladies in the stores suggested a restaurant with FADO there, but unfortunately we passed near this awful restaurant. The old man in the entrance is used to show friendly face to deceive tourists. These people lie to tourists and say that they have free Fado, which is free in most places in Alfama. The owner Fatima is so aggressive. Also the other old woman there was shouting to the workers there. They took more than an hour to bring the food after we asked them for few times and they kept ignoring us. Everybody already finished eating except us were waiting for so long, and when they brought the food, and there was a mistake as I asked them to replace the salad with rice, then I told the waiter about it, and he took the plate without saying anything. The service was very slow, and the waiters even didn't listen to us when we called them.
Then we decided to leave so we asked for the bill for few times and as usual with them, they ignored us. Finally the owner Fatima brought it showing us a smiley face first, and once I paid her (40 Euros which was too expensive for such a place in Alfama, Portugal), she suddenly started to yell and shouted at me, so I just said it's OK and wanted to leave the restaurant, she followed me to outside and started to say very bad words to me (I know my workers for years, they are really good, and you bitc.… etc) I was so shocked when she did this and I said why are you saying this, your workers are very slow, and I couldn’t even continue and she just came and pointed her finger at my face. I said don’t point your finger at me please, and I tried to leave. She continued saying very bad words and swear, then everybody out side gathered and suddenly I saw her took off her shoes and run to me, she assaulted me physically. Also one of her waiters, helped her and assaulted me physically. I was so shocked. How could they do this! People around tried to prevent her from doing this to me but she was so aggressive and kept saying very bad words to me. I tried to run with my sister and asked people around for the police station, and people told me what happened and I told them the story. People know about her and how bad she is. They said these are very bad people and you should not have gone there. How could we know while we are tourists! I complained to the police and the ministry of tourism. The owner Fatima is very bad person and very big liar as she denied to the police that attacked me physically.
Obviously she and her workers especially look for tourists to rip them off. I travelled a lot around the world, but this is first time such thing happened to me. Please don’t go there! This restaurant should shut down. I’m still shocked and can’t believe what happened to me in Lisbon. I can’t believe that there are such people in life. She is a big criminal and I don’t forgive what she and her waiter did to me. I was so respectful and can’t do what she did. Don’t go there, very bad unfriendly owner, with very bad food, and Fado. My sister felt pain in her stomach in same night and continued till next day. This totally a tourist trap!

São Miguel d'Alfama is een klein en rustiek ingericht restaurant in de wijk Alfama, dat bekend is om zijn fado. Niettemin is het hier niet overdreven toeristisch en ik kan het daarom aanraden als een leuke eetgelegenheid voor een etentje met muziek. Probeer de rijst met zeevruchten en een witte wijn.

We were looking for another “known” Fado-Restaurant and fell by a lucky chance to Sao Miguel’s. Some objections (too touristic?) disappeared quickly. As we stated later, we were introduced by one of the singers (José Matoso) himself in front of the restaurant.
A very warm and Christmas atmosphere welcomed us inside. A lot of in our opinion authentic Fado by seven musicians all the evening and very good food and good wine gave as a very enjoyable evening here.
Top music, top service, top meal with adequate price (50€ per person).
Coming back on our cruising from south, we see for coming again.

Went there with Maritza without first checking any reviews, Found it because close to Palacete Chafriz del Rei. Worried that it might be too toursity, but found it to be just right. Enjoyed the seafood with rice and the house red and a very pleasant Sunday night Fado show, featuring three good singers. Walked back to the hotel very satisfied.
