An amazing faudo restaurant. The performance was extremely good and the food was quite tasty. The place is simple, there are not much options in the menu. However, don't worry you will eat well and be amazed with the faudo soungs. We had an incredible time there.

Amazing rustic and intimist place. Great Fado good food with a very nice treatment by an American and a Brazilian waitresses, all for a fair price.

Go here for Music and maybe drink,not for food. I Ordred SQUID STEW and all I got was 5 spoons of beans stew (for 15 euro ) with 2 gram Squid, staff are friendly but not the cashier at the door.
Wouldn't recommend.there are better restaurants around .had to go directly to McDonalds after.

The Fado was eyeopening. I think my soul is ready now. I will become a Fado-singer myself.

We planned to meet some friends at this restaurant and we arrived early so thought we would just have a drink while waiting. The fellow who met us at the door was clearly not happy that we hadn’t committed to eating there. We found a table and waited 15 minutes and none of the 3 wait staff came anywhere near us. So we left. Very rude behaviour.

This place is a modest hidden gem in Bairro Alto where you wouldn't expect to find an authentic Fado place among the hustle and bustle of the district. Haven't tasted the food, but the music was more than just enjoyable. Try to catch a night when Jonas is singing and you will most probably hear some other fadista as guests.

This place is perfect if you're looking for the authentic Portugese fado experience. The place is tiny and cosy and mostly visited by locals, so really not touristic. The food and service are not that good though. The dishes were not bad, but just really boring and tasteless and the waitress wasn't really friendly. But the fado performance.. It made everything just perfect! The singer and guitarplayers were just amazing, and it was definitely worth the price (€25,-). They perform every 20 minutes or so and play about 3 songs each time. They offer live fado every day. If you're looking for good food and nice ambience, don't go, but if you're looking for the authentic Portuguese experience, this is the place!

Piccolo locale verace dove ascoltare il vero fado. Per i turisti, forse. Ma vero nelle intenzioni e nel sentimento.
Cibo non entusiasmante ma corretto e servito con garbo.
Bevande incluse nel menu da 25 euro con dolce e caffè.

Ao caminhar pela rua, não se dá a devida importância ao lugar. Porém ao entrar, se ouvirá o melhor fado e se comerá o melhor jantar. O lugar tem poucos lugares, vale fazer a reserva pelo site ou telefone. Recomendo a todos que querem conhecer um pouco mais do fado, combinado à boa mesa.

Un très bon moment dans ce lieu découvert par hasard. Nous sommes arrivés entre les deux services (19h et 21h) sans réservation mais l'aimable serveuse nous a trouvé une petite table très bien placée pour profiter du spectacle de fado. Formule très avantageuse (25€ entrée, plat, dessert, boisson et café) et des mets simples mais savoureux. Musiciens et chanteuse très compétents. Pensez à réserver par sécurité!

Nous nous faisions une joie de découvrir le fado, et cet établissement a réussi à nous décevoir au plus au point. Première chose, il ne faut pas y aller pour le restaurant, les plats sont très médiocres, le vin (rouge pour ma part) est infecte, triste à dire pour un pays comme le Portugal. En ce qui concerne la salle, sans plus, pas très attrayante. En ce qui concerne le fado, c’est très sympa, les musiciens sont très bons, mais 8 min/heure c’est très léger, surtout quand on vient pour ça justement... à cela s’ajoute plusieurs oublis de commande.
Si c’etait à refaire, j’eviterais Cet établissement. Il ne vaut absolument pas les 4,3 qu’il a.

Très belle découverte du fado soirée typique dans une très belle atmosphère authentique !! ( Tête d'affiche un peu décevante seulement 2 chansons certes un bon rhume).
En revanche le service est trop expéditif quand l'affluence est au rendez vous !! ( Nous avions réservé depuis 1 mois via internet) nous avons bien cru que nous allions nous expédier sans pouvoir profiter au maximum du fado.
Le menu fado à 25€/ personne est moyen la sangria vraiment pas top la quantité est vraiment limite le chorizo assez gras le riz pas assez salé le salami de chocolat pas du jour !!!
Bref nous y allions pour le Fado c'est réussi le reste......
Et que dire du quartier des tags partout sur les murs ça fait vraiment limite mais au final il régnait une ambiance festive.

Very average food, starter was literally a chorizo chopped up and put in a bowl. Main a piece of swordfish grilled on top of some green beans, little flavour. Fado was good but if you're going for good food and good singing look elsewhere this only had one of those.

Well... We made a reservation on the website. We were really happy and excited. After turning around for 10minutes next to the place we found out it was closed. No information anywhere either on Google or on the street (we didnt actually find the name of the bar in the street). Can't recommend, but I note the really Bad communication.

O local apresenta boas vozes de fado, mas é desconfortável e a comida é péssima. Ontem, dia 07 de janeiro de 2018, pedimos carnes e eu e minha mãe passamos mal e ainda continuamos a passar mal neste dia 08. Espero não estragar por completo nossa viagem.

Oh wow... Just wow... This was an absolutely amazing experience. The fado was incredibly good. The singer is a diva of fado, just spectacular.
The food main courses are not that great based on what we saw BUT we got multiple appetizers and those were delicious (try the pork). The sangria was very good too.
The fado comes in multiple sessions of a few somgs.
This place is a must if you want to try fado! We loved every second of the evening.
Reservations (through the website) are pretty much mandatory. Go for the 21:15 booking.

This place is too small and they put too much tables. It was uncomfortable as hell. Every time someone walks, they had to hit my back.
공간이 진짜 작은데 테이블은 욕심껏 많이 넣어놔서 직원이 서빙하러 다닐때마다 등이랑 어깨 치이고요, 문 바로 앞에도 테이블을 놨어요. 의자도 작은 나무 의자인데 아동용 사이즈 같은ㅋㅋㅋ; 진짜 앉아있는데 의자도 너무 불편하고 아프고 누구 지나갈때마다 치이는 것때문에 가시방석이고 미치는 줄 알았네요; 2주도 더 넘게 전에 예약해두고 간건데 그 출입문 바로 앞자리로 안내 받은것부터 좀 어이없었구요(테이블 예약은 아니었고 저와 친구가 도착했을땐 반은 비어있었네요.) 직원이 저희 거기 앉히면서 문 바로 앞자리라서 추울 수도 있긴 한데 이따가 문 닫아줄거라고 하더니, 그것도 아니었어요. 그리고 출입문을 닫으면 안에서 잠기는 구조라서ㅋㅋㅋ 누구 나갈때마다 문을 열어놓고 나가서 찬바람 계속 들어오고요; 공연중에 웨이터가 나가길래 왜 나가나했더니 길에 앉아서 담배 피우더라구요.출입문은 열어놓고요. 돈 내고 이렇게 있어야하나 너무 어이없고 빡쳤네요 진짜... 이렇게 불편해서 공연에 집중하기도 어려웠네요^^ 음식은 그냥 그래요. 평가 좋은거 공연때문인것 같은데 식당 서비스가 이렇게 거지같아서 공연이 좋더라도 다시는 안 가고 싶고, 그 정도로 가치 있지 않아요. 어차피 공연자가 잘 보이지도 않고, 웨이터가 계속 앞에서 왔다갔다해서 정신없고, 주방 요리하는 소리도 다 들리고, 문 열어놔서 춥고 밖에 소음 다 들어와서도 어차피 좀 시끄러운데, 노래 멈추고 다음 곡 시작하기 전에 친구랑 조곤조곤 (계속 문 열어서 너무 춥다고)얘기하는데 조용히 하라고 쉬이잇 하고 가요ㅋㅋㅋ 조용히 하라고 할거면 문이라도 닫으시던가,, 길 가던 개 소리도 다 들리던데ㅋㅋ

Tourists beware!!! Terrible service ( they made us move 3 times in 15 mins for people who 'deserved table' (We had booked in advance) and then - speechless -when we asked why we had kept being asked to move the waitress called the guy over and he just said 'I don't care - just leave. This table is for families. We are a gay couple.' Been to 5 fado venues this week and all are amazing - this place is just a terrible tourist trap. Avoid if you care x

With about 30 diners snuggled in a tiny room this was more like a family gathering than a regular restaurant. Traditional fado songs with guitar/mandolin accompaniment. Food traditional and delicious. Must book ahead (several latecomers were turned away).

We went here not knowing what to expect..excellent! Wrote this the day after our visit after visiting the widely know popular place not too far away. The wine was cheaper the fado music better, not as touristy. We only ate this restaurant so have no comparison on the meal but would pick this one anytime.

We booked a table in advance for the 7pm sitting, we were asked to choose between two tables and sat down. We were then asked to move to accommodate a bigger group but we were moved right in front of the Fado singers/band. Even though we arrived first, we were last served. The restaurant has only 3 English menus on hand... although I can speak Portuguese. When I picked one of their overly expensive menu items they informed me that it wasn’t available so I had to reassess the menu... which there was not enough time so the fado band came on. My friend had to move over in her seat to accommodate one of the guitar players and I was sitting right in front, I couldn’t look up at the band as they were literally at my side, I felt so uncomfortable. They should remove this two seater table as there is not enough room. My friend and I were trying to whisper to each other about the menu and about asking to move when the band took their first break... to which we received a horrible loud Shhhh from the waitress. Once the band went on break the waitress came back and I asked whether we could move to the table available near the entrance, to which she replied, no it’s full and they’d let someone else in the available seats. I then told her that we’re leaving because we felt truly uncomfortable in our seats, that we’re sorry and that it wasn’t the band, the band is great, and she replied, ‘just go!’ treated us like another dollar in their pocket. This restaurant appears only to draw in the tourists (why don’t they print off more English menus?!). It’s like a production line there of money rolling in and tourists rolling out. They appear to have the mentality ‘why treat customers well when there is an on going line of tourists just waiting to enter.’ I’d been in Portugal for two weeks already and I’d never experienced such rudeness. Portuguese people are so friendly and this girl is a shame. Not recommended. There are many more nicer places in the area.

El espectaculo es muy bonito. La cantante tiene una voz espectacular y la guitarra suena muy bien. El camarero es un tio muy enrollado la verdad. El local es muy pequeño y es imposible ir sin reserva, habran unas 5 mesas en un local de 20 metros cuadrados. La unica pega que le pongo es la comida, sinceramente es muy pero que muy mejorable. Pagas por el espectaculo, aun asi recomiendo ir para ver un fado autentico. Esta situado en la zona alta asi que prepararse para subir cuestas y caminar por suelo empedrado. No puedes irte sin ver un fado. No le pongo un 5 por la comida.

Lovely small place, very nice staff, great food and home made sangria. Every 15 minutes or so 2 musicians and a singer come up to sing 2-3 traditional songs. Unique experience, very glad this got to be our first meal in Lisbon

The experience was just amazing. A small space but added to the acoustics of the Fado (at the expense of being a bit hot). Servers were very friendly and the food was solid. Ultimately, it's about the Fado and they certainly did not disappoint. Highly recommended for visitors but ensure that you make a reservation.

Local muy recomendable para la gente que quiere escuchar buenos fados en un ambiente agradable y en un local para la gente que quiera entender la cultura de Lisboa. Muy buena comida también. Un consejo: reservar antes porque se suele llenar (es un sitio pequeño pero con mucho encanto) , también podéis tomar algo sin cenar.

For 25€ you can have a three course meal with wine and coffee (expect small courses for the price) and enjoy a fado experience. The food was fine, small portions and sharing a table with strangers made it less enjoyable and quite cramped. They ask you to be quiet when the performers start to sing which is great but it was unfair that the owners and employees sat next to us talking so loud during the performance that we couldn’t enjoy it. I recommend a seat next to where they’ll perform and not at the back.

The place is very beautiful and small. It has a welcoming ambiance. We were there from 19:00 until 21:30 and we were impressed by the talent and passion of 2 singers. The service team was friendly and patient.
Food was very well prepared and diverse. I can only recommend this restaurant! Keep up the good work

We wandered in here after not being able to get seating at a few other restaurants in the area. Here, they were friendly, made room for us, and treated us like locals. The food is simply prepared, unpretentious, and delicious. It feels like you are eating at a friends' family table. We made friends with the Portuguese couple next to us, heard fantastic Fado being played and sat next to the musicians as they ate their dinner. Couldn't have asked for a more charming dining experience. Service was friendly too and they didn't rush us. Would love to come back!

This is our most beloved place to listen to Fadu in the area. There are always few singers singing, they rock as hell!!
Small, cozy, 100% authentic place with delicious tuna streak and wine. One of must have places when you're in Lisbon. You want to come there 1 hour before Fadu performance to occupy seats cause place is really small. Cant wait to spend another evening here

Just had a great meal and Fado here. The food was probably the best we've had in our one week stay. Booking a table was very slick with good communication online. Staff were superb and very attentive. Music was hauntingly beautiful. A perfect end to our stay here.

If you see other people's posting, this is a hole in the wall. I passed by it many times and couldn't find the door as the place was so, so small. And, the tables are small, people were literally folded to fit inside. We would not keep the heads up at each other as there is no room without staring at each other within an inch. The food is mostly good, but the Fado music is just typical, formulated for the dinner scene. And, I have seen better in other restaurants a few doors up, or in other districts during our stay. The guy at the counter doesn't seem to keep his frown off of his face. Very unpleasant to see talking down to the young female guests stopping by.
Good, decent food, overall, poorly laid out tables in tiny crowded space, good for a barber shop, and, okay performance during our visit. I don't see why they get the rave review. I suggest pay 10-15 euro for the entry fees and order drinks, to try out other Fado venues in Alfama. They have both traditional and contemporary Fado music. You don't have to sit all night in one place, or, stuff yourself, here.

Uma verdadeira casa de fados típica. Se procura uma casa de fados enlatados para turistas, não é a casa que procura, pois na Mascote da Atalaia canta-se fado. Os pratos são bons, mas a magia está nas pessoas. Desde empregados muito zelosos e simpáticos a artistas de renome, com atuações verdadeiramente únicas. Sem dúvida o sitio ideal para quem quer ouvir bom fado ao vivo. O espaço é acanhado, não é muito amplo ( e ainda bem, porque o fado quer-se ouvir bem de perto) e tem de partilhar mesas, mas vai ter uma experiência unica, a precos acessíveis. Os menus são bastante completos e bem servidos. Certamente um local a repetir..

A éviter, je suis rentré dans ce restaurant vu les appréciations qu'il y a sur Google. Le repas a été d'une médiocrité inimaginable. il y avait que des échantillons pour 25euro quand même. Je me suis régalé dans d'autres restaurant pour deux fois moins cher. Nous avions l'impression de déranger.
Je réitère, fuyez l'endroit.

Simpatico locale dove poter ascoltare fado accompagnato da buon cibo senza dover spendere troppo. È necessario prenotare dato che è molto affollato. La cantante, della sera in cui sono stata, aveva una voce fantastica ed era veramente immedesimata nella sua performance.

He did not keep our reservation and shooed us away at the door when we arrived without a proper apology. Don't believe his online booking. The owner is a big joke wasting our time. This place is in the studenty area unlike Alfama area. Cozy you say, but 2 steps down.

Sincèrement, je donne rarement des avis c'est vrai, mais la... Trop déçu, si je peux vous éviter ce que j'ai vécu...
Fado vraiment moyen... Mais je dois tout de même respecter les artistes, Parcontre le repas c'était zéro.
Moi qui suis portugais, la c'est un attrape touriste clairement.
Honnêtement il y a beaucoup mieux ! Plus cher certe, mais soit tu paye la qualité, soit tu reste chez toi.... (pour une soirée comme celle là)

예약까지 전 날 해놨는데 예약시간보다 조금 더 미리 도착했지만 예약시간이 지나도록 자리룰 안내줍니다.
물어보니 기다리래요. 아직 시간이 안됐으니 그려러니...
예약석이라고 비워둔 자리도 당연히 없고 온통 합석에 합석에 합석... 테이블이 10개정도 될까요?
그래서 그냥 손님받는 모양인데 그럴거면 예약은 왜 따로 받아요?

Inoubliable soirée fado : bon repas fait maison à 25€ avec entrée plat dessert à la carte et bon vin ou sangria ou bière. Les artistes sont locaux. En 1h30 de repas nous avons écouté près de 30 minutes d'excellent fado. Réservez pour dîner en bas avec les artistes !

Wonderful experience. Listening to beautiful fado music while having a really good dinner for a reasonable price. Place is very small, so better to book a table as close as possible to the fado artists. We took tuna steak (incredible), squid and beans (really good) and the salad. Do the fado menu if you’re really hungry (it’s more convenient), good to share as well. Portions are really abundant. After dinner enjoy the fado while tasting the huge selection of Porto wines and typical liquors.

Molto tipico. Si mangia tutti vicini in mezzo ai musicisti di Fado. Piatti tipici fatti in casa. Abbiamo potuto ascoltare buona musica e portarci via un CD che è già un bellissimo souvenir della vacanza.
Peccato per l'atmosfera dei vicoli in cui si trova la locanda. A tratti é un chiasso allegro e piacevole, divertente, ma il solito delinquente che ti offre hashish o cocaina non è mancato, e questo mi ha lasciato un po' l'amaro in bocca.

Te dicen que hay fado y cantan 3 canciones y luego están una hora sin tocar (aunque el cantante lo hace bien). Te sientan como una sardina en lata. La atención por las camareras es lo siguiente de maleducado. La comida justa. NO RECOMENDABLE. Hay muchos locales. Mejor no escoger éste.

Great Fado place! We had 6 different singers and some of them were really fantastic. Recommend a night when Ana Margarida is singing (agenda on their webpage). Young guy with glasses is also talented. Saturday 21:15 seems the time to go. Reserve in advance, as it gets full. Cozy place, relaxed atmosphere, just the chairs are a little uncomfy. Food is good, portions average size. Affordable compared to other places, and no required minimum.

Io e una mia amica, in vacanza a Lisbona, abbiamo mangiato in questo locale dopo aver letto le recensioni: locale in cui si canta il fado e i prezzi delle consumazioni si aggirano intorno ai dieci euro. Ordiniamo due piatti di carne e vediamo che ci vengono portate due fettine, sì fettine fatte in padella come in casa quando si ha particolarmente fretta, con contorno di broccoli crudi. Avevamo chiesto anche il pane e le patate bollite. Il pane era decisamente raffermo e le patate non condite e ancora con la buccia. Il conto totale è stato di 41€. Locale altamente sconsigliato e le cui recensioni sono decisamente sopravvalutate.

Mi sono “arrampicata” fin qui perché ho trovato da più parti recensioni positive sulla musica portoghese tipica, il Fado, che qui si può ascoltare dal vivo. Il locale è alla buona sia nello stile che nel servizio. Ci sono due turni per cenare: uno alle 19 e l’altro alle 21. Durante la cena c’è lo spettacolo che dura 40 minuti circa: si alternano due cantanti accompagnati da due chitarre tra cui quella a 12 corde e con la classica forma a pera, tipica del Fado. La musica e il canto sono stati piacevoli, intensi e coinvolgenti ma il cibo era evidentemente vecchio e avariato: non solo era pessimo ma mi ha fatto star malissimo tutta la notte al punto da dover chiedere l’aiuto del personale dell’albergo. Evitatelo.
Si può chiedere anche di assistere solo allo spettacolo, o si può ascoltare la musica del fado altrove, a Lisbona le alternative non mancano.

Vi consiglio di andare a "la mascote da Atalaia" zona barrio alto dove potrete gustare taglieri di formaggio e affettati con un buon vino rosso portoghese e alle 19/00 inizia lo spettacolo di "fado" dal vivo, il canto tipico portoghese del barrio alto. Luogo assolutamente da non perdere.

Wow, what a wonderful restaurant. Aside from the excellent food, the Fado music performed during the meal was tremendous. One bit of advise...make a reservation. This is a very quaint, intimate setting. The room seats maybe 20 guests at most. Throughout the evening (maybe every 30 or 45 minutes) the lights will dim & skilled musicians perform traditional Fado (Portuguese folk) music. During the 10 - 15 minute performance, the room is silenced out of respect to the musicians. After about 3 songs, the performers take another 30 - 40 minute break while the patrons continue their meals. I strongly recommend you enjoy a meal here, you will not regret it.

Une très bonne adresse pour écouter du Fado. Par contre le mieux est d'y boire un verre mais de ne pas y manger. La nourriture est chère et franchement mauvaise ! Pour 13€ la viande au fromage était une semelle sans goût, la salade verte en sachet fade à souhait et la soupe aux choux sans aucun goût.
Il est possible de réserver via la fourchette ou TripAdvisor ce qui est pratique.

Really great casual and intimate Fado restaurant with amazing singers and guitar players. A few locals came by and sang some songs too. We had beef and pork dishes which were very good. Prices are good considering you're getting a show as well. I recommend getting a reservation because the place is very small and doesn't seat many people. The music starts at 7:30 and some people leave at around 9:30 so there may be empty tables around then. The Fado goes until around 11. I would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in Lisbon.

During our dinner there were 2 fado singers of which the woman was amazing and the guy was more bellowing sounds. It made my ears ring and because the place is so small there is no escaping. The good thing about this place is that you don't pay extra for the fado, but the prices for food are double the price of standard places and the portions half the size. Not all main dishes come with vegetables or rice (mine only had rice, no vegetables at all and my partner's only had green beans with the fish and no carbs). We had the codfish cakes and tuna which were very good. The place is super cramped with only little space in between the small, wobbly tables and stools. Service could have been friendlier; litte attention was paid and tables who came after us were served before we were. We left pretty early because of this.

Place is small but nice. You don't pay extra for the fado ,which is good, but food is too expensive compared to the quality (low). Fado was good but singer played only four songs and then she stopped for more than half an hour. We were disappointed for this so we went. It also was 11.30 pm and they were closing at 12pm...

Stumbled upon this place, it was packed but the Fado singer (!) Invited us inside and we got to sit in the back on some barstools and for our wine, listening to beautiful Fado music. Extremely friendly staff and a wonderful positive vibe, highly recommended!

Great place to experience Fado - multiple local artists in a very small setting (the furthest tables are maybe 5m / 18' away). Small tables, small stools to sit on - I'm big (1.96m / 6'4"), had a sore knee and back before we went there, and while walking back to after, unkinking my back and pampering my knee, I asked my wife if she wanted to do it again before we left. Oh - food. It was very tasty and much better than I expected (as most folks are coming for the music), but yeah - after listening to 5 good-to-great performers from just over 1m/1y away, I had kind-of forgotten about the food!

Si vous aimez le fado, c'est magnifique. Après cela dépend du soir ou vous y allez puisque il ya un artiste différent chaque soir.
Petit et pas très confortable, mais bon ça passe.
Par contre si vous êtes amateur de bonne cuisine traditionnelle, passez votre chemin.
C'est présenté certes sur des plats traditionnels, mais cela reste du basique sachet salade et boîtes, mais reste cher pour ce que c'est.
Comptez entre 20 et 30 euros un repas.
Exemple, salade sachet avec un peu de fromage râpé des açores (à vérifier) 5 euros
Petits pois avec chorizo et un oeuf au plat 15 euros, demi litre sangria maison (cela reste mon avis, un brick) 7 euros.
Ce n'est pas immangeable......
Silence de rigueur puisque le serveur fait chut pour un rien, en fait c'est lui qui fait le plus de bruit.
Accueil normal rien d'extraordinaire.
Honnêtement boire un verre pour écouter oui, y manger non.

We didn't have a very good time here, sadly. Some of the reasons were coincidental: the pork and rice sausage we ordered was not good but we've never had it before and didn't know what to expect so it was our fault. The new waitress also mixed up some orders and somehow managed to get her own drink spilt over my back but that happens.
Otherwise, the tuna we had was excellent and the fado was quite good though not jaw-dropping. The staff was also extremely friendly and the atmosphere was nice. What really bothered us was the fact that we made a reservation at 22:00 and had to wait outside for half an hour until we could sit down. We understand that mishaps happen but we recommend that you do not offer reservations for which you can't guarantee a table. Second of all, the small place turned out to be really loud due to some annoying locals at the bar. They kept bumping into us, talking extremely loudly and they ruined the atmosphere. The otherwise excellent staff also did their work quite slowly because they were too busy chatting with those same locals.
All in all, I would recommend the place but I wish we had experienced it in different circumstances.

La comida es aceptable, la experiencia de cenar con música en directo es muy especial, pero el trato es bastante mejorable. El modo en el que solicitaban silencio resultaba algo violento, sobretodo tratándose de un restaurante en el que es inevitable hacer algún comentario entre tus compañeros de mesa o hacia los camareros.

かなり上質な料理を出してくれます。

Фаду великолепное, маленькое уютное помещение буквально на шесть столиков на четверых, камерный концерт, отличный стейк из тунца за 15 евро. Однозначно рекомендую.
