Stayed for a week in the Supertubos Villa, everything was great. Good rooms, great service, great lessons and 1 instructor for every 4 students. Injured myself a bit during the stay, and the staff went out of their way to help me with doctors and meds, and their insurances covered everything. Will definitely go again!

We spend 10 days in the beautiful island of Baleal and we inscribed for a 3 day lessons on this school. We didn’t know what to expect but we definitely were not disappointed with the teachers that were extremely professionals. We learn so much !! And we all (group of 6) really progressed with the good advices of all of them. We highly recommend this school! We hope to come back next year. Thank you and shaka

Mille mercis à toute l’équipe du surf camp pour leur gentillesse et leur professionnalisme !!! J’ai passé 4 jours avec une amie sur place, c’est elle qui a choisi ce lieu pour nous loger et prendre des cours : je n’ai pas été déçue de son choix ! Avant notre arrivée, nous étions en contact avec Marta qui nous a donné tous les renseignements nécessaires. Nous avons été parfaitement prises en charge dès notre arrivée à Peniche en bus, jusqu’à notre départ. L’hébergement était très propre, idéalement situé et fonctionnel, et cela vaut pour les différentes maisons du surf camp qui sont à moins de 5min à pied de l’océan. Baleal est une toute petite station balnéaire très calme et reposante, parfaite pour s’évader avant la haute saison. Enfin, les cours de surf sont super et très enrichissants : je n’en avais jamais fait, pourtant j’ai été très bien formée et j’ai pris quelques vagues en moins 2h, car les profs nous dirigent bien et poussent les débutants. Mention spéciale à Pedro, le prof le plus expérimenté, et Diago (désolée si j’écorche son nom) pour sa patience, sa vigilance et son dévouement. Merci également au staff de l’accueil : Livia, Luis et Jessica !

Great time with Baleal Surf Camp! Two weeks in october went by very fast. I was in the intermediate surfing group with Andre and Ruben our Best surf instructors. Enthusiastic, knowledgable and proactive. Flexible on time and Location for surfing, managed to put 1-2 carver lesson and video reviews during every week... This is what makes the difference... I'm coming once again some time, hope Baleal Surf Camp guys will have got more variation on surf board sizes (7 and less) to try by that time. Over all fantastic experience with the Camp! Cheers!

I have been to many surf camps, baleal is by far the best one. Very well organized, nice people, great instructors, cool activities, awesome surf beach... if you come once, yu will come again for sure!

Awesome place to learn surfing. I stayed in the hostel opposite to the beach and had two days group sessions (1 teacher 2-3 beginners in October). Great people, professional teachers, well organized reception, authentic & family like atmosphere. Will return for sure :)

Not a real surf school, more a surf experience. I went there to improve my skills and my friend was a complete beginner. They made me go through the whole beginner lesson again. My friend learned nothing apart from standing up, not paddling for a wave, we were pushed into waves, no rules, nothing. I expected to learn how to catch green waves by myself and was frustrated on having spend my money for being pushed into waves when I can just paddle. My friend enjoyed the experience and feels like she can surf now, which is dangerous as she has only learned to stand.

We took surf lessons there: Small groups, good organization. Our teacher (Pedro? Sorry, forgot the name. Experienced guy, very fit, with three day beard, curly hair) was really amazing. He always went inside the water with us, took his time to teach each one individually and helped with getting the right position on the board, etc. 10/10, would do it again.

We took five surf lessons from monday until friday in the morning. Groups were small and the teacher great. We had everyday successes on the board and enjoyed our stay in Peniche. Thanks!

Only did the one lesson but then hired gear for a few days after. Really good teachers and staff all approachable even for the uncool like us. Would recommend for anyone wanting to give it a go. 15e for 2 hours wetsuit/board hire seems good value, too.

We came here with the family and get the appartement. It is clean and spacious. We suent two weeks, one at the surf school to learn the base of the surf and the second at the surf camp to practice what we learned. Fun surf friendly

Great place with lots of options staying in the hostel, an apartment, or a house. Instructors were really nice but also really helpful. Super passionate about surfing and helping people learn. Definitely recommend!

Sólo decir que no hemos alquilado el material aquí, porque la chica que tenéis al lado del bar atendiendo igual tenía un mal día pero desde luego no sabe como acoger a un cliente, desinteresada, desagradable, maleducada y poco competente, parece ser que no le gusta mucho su trabajo.

Did 5 days of lessons with these guys in Baleal - really enjoyable and nice people. Would definitely recommend

A couple of friends and I enjoyed our time there even with not the best weather conditions. I really liked Andre's teaching method during the intermediate course. He told us it's necessary to have ocean knowledge, surfing technique and the right mindset for surfing. Even in the worst conditions you can work on smaller things and be happy about it and successful with the appropriate mindset. His feedback and support was always really helpful and motivating. We also had technique training with skateboards. My friends share the opinion that all the instructors were highly motivated and motivating. We learned and laughed a lot, improved our surfing skills and caught a couple of nice waves. Thanks a lot for this pleasant experience to all the instructors and the whole Baleal Surf Camp team!

It's my very first time for surfing and i'm so glad i chose this place with professional coaching, really nice caring and great location, our coaches Diogo and Andrea explained everything to us so clear and always helped us with a lot of patience, which made surfing even more fun for us, it's just an amazing trip that i couldn't have expected more.

I stayed at Baleal Surf Camp for one week in June and from start to finish the whole experience was amazing. From when I first booked the email correspondence I had with the camp was friendly and incredibly helpful; they provided detailed instructions on how to get to the camp from Lisbon via various routes so had no issues there. Once I arrived at Penchie bus station I was met by a friendly member of staff who drove me to the camp. The hostel was clean and well organised and as a solo traveller it was really nice to meet lots of new people. I was also really impressed by the recycling in Portugal! As the hostels are self catered I would suggest having a look at what food is left over (pasta, salt, pepper, olive oil etc) before going food shopping to avoid having to leave things behind - sharing is caring! The grocery store is literally 5 mins across the road which was very convenient. The surf lessons themselves were really well organised. As a complete beginner I was in a group of 9 and we had 3 instructors, this was perfect as we all got 1 on 1 time with each of them. The instructors were really excellent teachers, they gave great tips and made time for each of us. All of us were catching waves by ourselves by the end of the week - which is pretty amazing considering at the start of the week, we all would have been happy with just standing up! The camp also offered a few days out and we had a group meal at the end of the week where we saw photos and videos of us surfing (and falling) - a really nice way to end the week. I was then dropped back to the bus station and was on my way. I couldn't have asked for more from this experience, Baleal Surf Camp definitely did not disappoint! If you're looking to have an amazing surfing experience, look no further!

We are family 2 adults and 1 child 8 years had wonderful time in Baleal Surf Family Camp. Great school with perfect location on the beautiful beach. It was our first time surfing, it not easy, but very adventuring. We would like to thank you all team of the school and especially our instructors Gonzalo and Teo for big attention to our family and very good interaction with our son. You did our week! Hope to return. Highly recommend!

Nous avons passé deux semaines de surf fantastiques avec les coachs du Baleal Surf Camp. Tous sont très professionnels, disponibles et donnent de leur personne. De plus le cadre est magnifique et les vagues toujours au top. Le matériel est de qualité et l'infrastructure correcte.

I stayed here for a week for surf lessons. I am horrible at surfing, but i had a blast. I met a lot of nice people from all around the world. I had great instructors, which i think makes a big difference. It's reasonably priced and if you haven't ever tried surfing, definitely worth going here. You can get her my bus from Lisbon and the camp will pick you up from the bus station. It's easy to walk into town from the cottages.

The best surf camp in Peniche because of its location - right on the beach. Good vibe, good people, good value, good equipment.

Gehört zum Baleal Surfcamp, Holzhäusschen, das in freundlichem Weiß erstrahlt und schön angerichtete Snacks, sowie eine gemütliche Lounge mit Surf-Magazinen bietet. Hier lassen sich auch zahlreiche traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge genießen.

Wir haben als Familie mit 2 Schulkindern in den Osterferien einen Sufkurs im Baleal Surfcamp gemacht. Wir waren dabei nicht im Camp selbst untergebracht, sondern hatten uns zuvor eine private Unterkunft gesucht. Vom Surfkurs waren wir begeistert-.auch von der Organisation. Die Suflehrer sind superengagiert und wirklich daran interessiert, ihren Schülern etwas beizubringen. Auch im Umgang mit den Kindern waren sie Klasse ! -Die angebotenen Trips zu Fatum, nach Peniche und der Abschlussabend in einer wunderbaren portugiesischen Tasca bleiben unvergesslich. Dazu kommen herrliche Strände, prima Wellen, wunderbare Landschaft und überall nette Menschen.

Best place ever! Have been there 3 times and definitely going again! Learned so much during surf classes, staff is amazing and very friendly. Had loads of fun not only riding waves but also in the hostel and beach bar parties. Surf, Sun, Parties- a full package:)
