Real toutist trap... Very expensive for portugal standards... Main dishes for 20+ euros...beefteak impossible tochew... Cow too old I suppose... Bachala with forensic traces of fish...first wine I didn't enjoy since i'm in portugal. 2 and half hours we heard 3x3 fado songs... Male singer was good.. Female was good but maybe 40 years ago...tonight was...let me say... aged. I know that fado is sad music..but major sadness tonight was how Viela do fado hustled us. My recomandation.... to avoid.

Amei. O proprietário e a história e estórias contas, o pequeno espaço aconchegante, a ótima.comida e o fado tradicional, são marcantes. Vale a ir mas reserve antes, pois o ambiente é bem pequeno. Destaque para a garçonete que é fadista e dá um espetáculo!

It fulfilled our Fado experience. Small, family run place. Beautiful voice on the young lady! They really hit you up on food and upcharges but that's a bit to be expected. All in all a reasonable price and let's face it, you're there for the music and entertainment - worth the visit.

Yes it's expensive and caters just to tourists but it's one of the cheaper tourist traps with decent food, not as busy as other places and we enjoyed the fado experience.

A great place to enjoy fado. The owner and his daughter give a short history and background of fado. There were 3 different singers (one woman, two men) on the night we were there. All were good as were the backup band (viela and portuguese guitar). Good ambience. Good Portuguese tapas - we made a fine dinner from them.

Estoy de paseo por Portugal y decidimos dar una vuelta y disfrutar de un lugar tranquilo, preguntamos al entrar a viola do fado si era necesario pagar entrada y nos dijeron que no, pedimos unos tragos y algo para comer iba todo bien hasta que llegó la cuenta, nos estaban cobrando la entrada y el total era 39 euros, Estaban incluyendo las entras que costaban 5 euros por personas y éramos 4, las cuales nos habían dicho que no pagaríamos. El dueño del local fue muy prepotente y nos insistió que debíamos pagar. No recomiendo este lugar, porque en esta noche a otras personas les paso lo mismo. Mala atención por parte de uno de los dueños

Ok, amis français et d'autres pays, fuyez ce lieu. La rapport qualité/prix est ultra décevant. 73 euro pour 2 plats, une carafe de sangria et 15 minute de fado. On ressort de ce restaurant avec une grosse impression de s'etre fait avoir. Attention aux autres notes sur ce lieu, cela semble être des trolls. Libre à vous d'y aller. Vous êtes prevenus.

Soirée plutot décevante : prix tres excessif (pour 2 personnes 77€), rapport/qualité prix très mauvais. La carafe de sangria 18€ qui n'est pas du tout à la hauteur en termes de goût. Les plats du jour à 20€ sont survendus par la serveuse " tres bon et spécialité de Lisbonne". Au final, c'est un plat quelconque que nous pouvons refaire chez nous (pomme de terre et morceaux de porc soit disant mijotés mais la viande n'etant pas tendre et quelques petit coquillages pour un effet whaou) Les olives qu'on vous pose et qu'on pense etre gratuite sont facturées 4,5€ et en plus il faut payer 5€ par personne pour entendre ce fameux fado, soit 5 chansons (15 min) avec 3 chanteurs différents dont une qui nous a rabbatu et qui s'occupait de la salle. Autant dire qu'il s'agit plus de faire tourner l'activité que de faire decouvrir ce chant typique. Point positif : le chanteur de fado qui était le seul à faire passer de l'émotion. Attention c'est un attrape touriste.

Very intimate and enjoyable. The staff is lovely and friendly and the Fado singers and the band are very talented . If you need a good Fado experience and you remember to respect the art and the artists then I recommend this place.

El lugar es súper acogedor. La gente que atiende es más que atenta y los músicos de lo mejor. Los restos cerca no lo recomiendan y no entiendo porque, los otros que hemos preguntado cobran bastante caro, el show fue solo 5€ y la comida estuvo riquísima. Fue de lo mejor de mi experiencia en Lisboa !

Si viajas a Lisboa y pasas una noche en el famoso barrio de Alfama, tienes que escuchar un fado en directo. Le doy 5 estrellas porque en este sitio la experiencia de estar en un sitio auténtico y con fado en vivo es fantástico. El pero son los precios, demasiado caro todo en general.... 5 euros entrar a escuchar el espectáculo.....tomar algo o comer es muy caro, demasiado caro. Vale la pena porque va a ser una noche especial si te gusta el fado, pero sientes que te están cobrado de más por ser un turista. Es una lastima. Aún así ha valido la pena.

Dou uma estrela por ser o mínimo.
Atendimento muito medíocre e comida cujos preços provocam enjoos, considerando a sua apresentação. Garrafa de água de meio litro a 3 euros? Sim, é verdade.
Os empregados tentam manipular o cliente a gastar mais dinheiro com bebidas, sobremesas, CDs de Fado etc. Chegou a ser embaraçoso o empregado ter-se esforçado tanto para tirar dinheiro do meu bolso.
O Fado ao vivo é razoável. Bons guitarristas.
Este restaurante está demasiado virado para os turistas, aproveitando-se ao máximo dos mesmos.
Mesmo eu sendo português e ter feito questão de assinalar isso aos empregados, os mesmos tentaram aproveitar-se de mim.
Paguei 38 euros para assistir ao Fado ao vivo (5€ por pessoa), por uma garrafa de água, duas tostas mistas minúsculas e uma pequena travessa de queijo.
Jantar aqui foi dos meus maiores erros. Restaurantes como este mostram a degradação do verdadeiro espírito hospitaleiro português, e da cultura do Fado.

Il posto puzza. Entrando passa l’appetito. Due coppie a fianco a noi sono andate via senza neanche ordinare, pagando l’inutile tassa per il fado (5€). La musica era accettabile, ma i prezzi troppo alti. Volevamo passare una bella serata ad ascoltare la fado, ma ci è rimasta sul groppone. Sconsigliato.

지나가다가 우연히 들어갔는데 가격대비 만족스럽진 않았음. 음식 주문외에 공연비 인당 5유로씩 따로있음. 공연은 15분 이내이고 이후 삼사십분 동안 휴식후 다시 공연하는 식. 파두를 처음 접해서 수준을 논하긴 어렵고 그냥 무난한듯. 중간중간 테이블에 와서 추가주문이나 음반 구매를 권함. 계산시 먹지않은 메뉴가 빌에 적혀있어 빼달라고 말해야했움

아무 정보없이 지나가다 빈자리가 있어 들렀는데 불행히도 그 때의 공연은 별로였어요. 뮤지션마다 다르겠죠. 샹그리아는 맛이없었고 가격도... 스태프는 친절하지만 전체적으로 비추입니다.

Flott sang og flinke gitarister, men da personalet i forkant forklarte at de 5 € pr person bare skulle betales av de som ikke bestilte mat, og senere likevel førte det opp på regningen, følte vi oss lurt. Ble en dyr kveld, maten var så som så. Vi er skuffet.

Super endroit pour écouter du Fado. Nous avons entendu deux artistes. 3 chansons chacune puis une pause qui permet aux gens de payer leur addition et de partir et aux nouveaux clients de s'installer. On peut rester autant qu'on veut. 5€/personne en plus des conso pour le fado.
Nous avons passé u. Très bon moments dans un endroit typique et avec une ambiance à l'image qu'on peut se faire du fado: intime et intense.

À ne surtout pas faire. A éviter absolument. Nous sommes arrivés dans une salle sombre avec un énorme cafard qui a participé toute la soirée au spectacle. Spectacle qui n'en est pas un avec une première chanteuse sans aucune émotion, une autre qui n'a pensé qu'à vendre son CD..... Quant au repas une planche apéritive avec 6 petits morceaux de jambon et 4 tranches de fromage aussi fines que du papier à cigarette, 2 salades minables de poulet et une bouteille de vin vert à peine frais pour 69e c'est le pire endroit de Lisbonne pour écouter du Fado que vous payez bien sûr..... Piège à touristes absolu.

Great family run establishment. Cosy, lovely, and friendly. Pedro runs the place, his mother cooks, Jessica, his daughter sings, and his cousin plays guitar. Be aware that Uber can't reach there, both for drop and pick up. Also they don't take credit card.

Soirée mémorable au Viela do Fado avec Pedro le patron.
Très bonne cuisine portuguaise revisitée, la maman de Pedro aux manettes de la cuisine.
Personnel et service très sympathique.
Fado très émouvant et intimiste.
Je ne suis pas du tout d’accord avec les avis qui jugent l’endroit comme une arnaque touristique et qui se plaignent des 5€ à payer pour le fado.
Rien n’est gratuit dans la vie !
Ce qui est bien, c’est que Pedro parle très bien anglais et vraiment compréhensible pour expliquer ce qu’est le fado, son histoire, son origine.
Vous passerez une très bonne soirée dans ce restaurant.

PRESA IN GIRO: unica nota positiva il fado.
Il cibo non è buono e i prezzi sono cari, il locale è carino ma non curato, il bicchiere non era pulito, tavoli erano sporchi e non cambiano le tovaglie tra un cliente e l'altro, il bagno era in condizioni disgustose.
Il proprietario si comporta in modo amichevole e con teatralità in stile da trappola per turisti. Allunga le mani stile amicone, e noi italiani ci siamo pure beccati lo stereotipo della mafia.
Come in molti ristoranti per turisti a lisbona, portano pane olive e burro senza dirti che costano 1,50 l'uno!!! In più quando il proprietario ci ha chiesto come andava e siamo stati sinceri dicendogli tutto ciò che non andava bene si è arrabbiato insultandoci e diventando minaccioso. Unico errore nostro averglielo detto con gli altri clienti presenti, ma era impossibile far altrimenti visto che i tavoli sono letteralmente attaccati tra loro. SCONSIGLIO VIVAMENTE.

Plus qu'un piège à touristes c'est une arnaque. On ne vous prévient pas que l'on paye cinq euros par personne de taxe de fado. On vous dépose des olives et si vous y touchez on vous les compte presque cinq euros!!! Ce n'est vraiment pas bon!!!
90€ pour trois personnes en ne commandant qu'un seul plat et une demie bouteille d'eau : du vol !

Do you like to be fooled? They treat clients like hamburger fast food. Maybe because many tourists visit the restaurant and might never come back, they offer horrible wine and say it is good, charge expensive dinner and the musicians are tired of playing the same music. The owner gives a show, saying he loves everybody, but he is actually fooling clients. Do you want to throw money away? Go there.

Per gli amanti del Fado e non solo, questo lacale vi potrà far assaporare l'essenza di questa particolare musica. Locale situato nell' Alfama uno dei più prestigiosi quartieri per ascoltare il Fato. Per accedere al locale bisogna scendere dal piano stradale di qualche gradino, l'ambiente appare già da subito intimo e rende l'atmosfera unica nel suo genete. E possibile assaporare la cucina tipica o bere un drink mentre viene eseguito questa malinconica musica.

Au début, le resto ne paie pas de mine, mais une fois le seuil franchi...Personnel aux petits soins. Plats du jours typiques, une des meilleures sangria que j’ai eu la chance de goûter...et des chanteurs de Fado magnifiques et imprégnés par leurs chants.,expérience à vivre au moins une fois.

Food is overpriced and quality is low. Had to wait 1.5 hours to get the food served on the table. Show was late by 30 min. It was ok but feels like a tourist trap. We only had 3 songs (~15 min). To be honest, I’ve had so many other great restaurant experiences in Lisbon. This one is totally not worth it. Avoid it and spend your time and money elsewhere!

The Fado performance is free, i.e. the price is included in the price of the food and drinks. Even so, the food is way overpriced and way below the quality you should expect. My wife suffered food the next day, we don't know for sure if A Viela Do Fado is to blame, but they seem the most likely culprit.
The music was performed with skill and passion, if only the food was the same. This place should be more honest and charge an entry fee to cover the cost of the performance, then they wouldn't have to make their money by overcharging for poor quality food.

法朵（Fado）之于葡萄牙，相当于弗拉明戈之于西班牙，所以来里斯本一定要听一下。这家餐厅所在街道是法朵表演最集中的区域，几乎每家餐厅都提供。选择这家的原因不只是因为评论不错，更重要的是他们是独立的家庭餐厅。这种全家出动的感觉和法朵的精神很契合。毕竟法朵是为远航的亲友送行的歌，欢快的旋律搭配悲伤的歌词，充满祝福和不舍。此外这家店的价格相对较便宜，大多数的法朵餐厅都有最低消费，一般都在人均五十欧元左右，而这家是二十欧元。但这家只收现金！所以一定要带现金，不然尴尬。表演是九点钟开始，每一场大概持续十五分钟。第一次听法朵也不知道唱的好不好，不过气氛很不错。对了，街角还有一个法朵博物馆，展出的内容简明扼要，推荐先看一下，这样可以更好欣赏。祝大家度过一个难忘的夜晚。

WOW we almost left because half the menu seemed to be unavailable but this was a truly amazing night! After our meal the Fado began at about 21:30, by the time all the tourists had left the Fado really began.... truly worth the wait. Fado with dinner was great, Fado after dinner was stupendous, an intimate performance of the Portuguese culture. Restaurant is family run & truly authentic, a jewel in the crown of Lisbon!!!

Family owned and very good food. We listened to Fado for several hours. It was really nice because they had a family friend sing Fado, then the daughter and during intermission the father sang. They were very passionate for their food and Fado.

진짜 최고였어요...특히 가장인 듯 보이는 페드로 페르난데스님(?)은 인상깊은 분이었고요. 파두가 무엇인지에 대해 처음부터 자세하게 알려주셔서 좋았어요.
어린 가수분들과 어머님의 목소리가 정말 잊히질 않아요.
이곳이 최고라는 건, 다음날 다른 파두 레스토랑에 가서야 알게 됐는데요. 그 다른 곳은 그냥 직장인들처럼 출근해서 노래부르고 쉬는 시간에 각자 핸드폰으로 무언가를 하고..그런 분위기였다면. 여기는 그냥 진짜로, 진심인 듯한 느낌. 여튼 최고예요!

If the food wasn't so uninviting , flavourless & expensive the whole fado experience wouldn't have been so bad -- but unfortunarely it was - so if you are desperate to waste your tourist dollars on a very bad meal then this is the place.

We were searching for genuine Fado experiences. Most reviews were that you get ripped off or service is bad. If you want off-the-beaten path this is the place to go. Pedro(owner) gave us a very passionate introduction on Fado. Food was great. Tables are small and we ended up talking to strangers from N Ireland and Korea to become friends at 11:30. Both hands I vote for this place!

Typically small family business. Pedro guides you through the evening while the women - one lovelier than the next - do all the work including serving, cooking and singing. The room is tiny, the music authentic and pricing reasonable. My conclusion: A sophisticated place for tourists.

Das Restaurant ist ein Familienbetrieb.
Grossmutter kocht, der Inhaber serviert und unterhält mit seiner typisch portugiesischen Art und die Tochter und die Neffin singen Fado.
Wir tranken guten Wein und assen gute portugiesische Gerichte und wurden sensationell unterhalten.
Am zum schenkte uns der Inhaber sogar noch eine Flasche Wein zum mitnehmen.

We were very lucky to stumble across this fantastic family-run place in Lisbon's Alfama district, serving great, traditional Portuguese food as well as beautiful fado from 9pm until 1am every night, with a few breaks in between. Pedro and family were perfect hosts for the evening, and I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a real 'authentic' fado experience in the Alfama.

Wir hatten uns ein wenig informiert und es entsprach eigentlich voll und ganz unseren Erwartungen von einem Fado Restaurant.
Der Mindestbestellwert in dem Lokal war 10€ pro Person sehr angemessen, allerdings muss man recht aufschwatz-resistent sein, da einem ein paar Sachen etwas drängend angeboten werden.
Das Essen war recht teuer, aber durchaus lecker, die Portionen vergleichbar mit Tapas (wir hatten 3 "Tapas" bestellt und ein 0,5l Wasser und ca 30€ für 2 Personen gezahlt). Am besten wäre es, wenn man vorher schon ein bisschen was isst oder danach noch etwas einplant. Wie immer werden Brot und Oliven angeboten und eine Flasche Wein für 19€ steht auf dem Tisch, die ist allerdings sehr überteuert. Nach dem Essen bekam jeder einen gratis-Shot.
Der Fado war sehr sehr gut! Das ganze ist ein Familienbetrieb und der Wirt hat vor jedem Fado-Einsatz (der Sänger macht nach 3-4 Liedern so ca 20+ Minuten Pause) eine Ansage gemacht, in der er Verschiedenes über die Geschichte des Fado erzählt und seine Familie und die Musikanten vorgestellt hat. Das war sehr schön!
Auf jeden Fall sehr empfehlenswert!

Maria was so kind and friendly. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was so great and seemed like there were a lot of locals but very welcoming to an English speaking group. And finally the live music was incredibly beautiful.
