Lovely place for sightseeing, food and lots of drinks. Many restaurants around which serve some of the best fish and just a all round nice atmosphere

it's a nice place, just to much harassment of the many restaurants trying to get you inside, you just feel hassled while walking around the place, one word of warning before eating in these places, check the plate sizes before going in, we ordered a meal and it come on what I'd describe as a kids plate, very small portion

Beautiful and crowded... Lots restaurants, bars, clubs, shops. Live music , very friendly waiters and waitresses. Some places have very good food, some just OK.
Shopping kiosks all around and you can get missing bit and pieces for your holiday. I recommend you SPAR for quick shopping.next for a food you can get all missing things for holidays..

If you like old quaint places you'll love it here although we visited it late in the season, so it was very quiet and lots of places were closed.

Absolutely beautiful !
such an amazing old church building.
the altar is incredible it's only small and you can look around it in minutes but the small entry fee reflects that

This is not authentic Portugal. Everything is so touristy, that its gross. Everyone said it's so charming here but it's not. The beach area is nice and it's a great place to watch the sunset. Unless you want to get chinese food in Portugal, I dont recommend this place.

Fantastic vibrant place if you like it lively. Plenty to do for families in the evening with street performer's in the main square. We stayed local and the nightlife slows down around 4am so if you are in accommodation 5 minutes walk to the old town then be prepared for noise. Nice beach and a variety of restaurants to choose from and lots of bars playing great music including some with live music. We absolutely loved every minute

Great area for holiday really lively during the day and great place for families to go too for a night out . Loads of great restaurants but most aren't cheap as to be expected on the main strip . There is a massive car park near by at the top of the escalators which I parked the car in when visiting during the day and night it's 24 h in summer months but changes in off peak . The beach beautiful and packed with all kinds of water sports .

Ville magnifique juste incroyable les plages sont si belles, les habitans très acceuillants c'est à la fois pittoresque et touristique je recommande les balades en bateau et la visite des criques c'est juste magique ! Autre bon point la Cataplana plat typique Algarvien juste un délice ! Pour des vacances ensoleillés et rhytmer rien de tels que Albufeira et old town

Albuferia is a lovely place. Just a word of caution if you have mobility issues. Most cafes have toilets. Invariably they are downstairs. In fact while a lot of the places I went to in the Algarve is flat very often there will be maybe 2 or three steps without handrails that are extremely difficult. If you cannot walk you would be very restricted. For example there are just a few steps to get to the Chapel of bones, they are in ones and twos but I had to be carried up and down them.

Wel gezellig maar soms te duur. 4.50 voor een tosti zonder maar iets erbij en 4 euro voor een cola light met 80% ijs is te duur. Maar je zit wel in de zon.

Comida mala,cena de día 14 algo parecido a sardinas,lentejas arroz hervido,nada de carne poca, patatas cocidas,que 5 estrellas ofrece solo esto??fruta pasada, arroz con leche que parece papilla,a la llegada en un todo incluido a las 16,30 no queda nada de esnap ,no tienen batidos,zumo de máquina,café de máquina todo el tiempo y pésimo, durante varios días de estancia no cambia la calidad

pero son con fantástico sitio fuimos en noviembre merece la pena paseo por la playa y excursión de 17 € a las cuevas y formaciones rocosas con barco olvídate de los mercadillos hay mucho que ver aunque te meten un clavazo en la plaza café a 250 aprovecha y ve a Lagos a ver la playa de Santa Ana

It's ok . But some places are not so bad. Some of the restaurants are still very nice. We stay outside albufeira and prefer loulé and vilamoura. But for a break it's got everything you need. Supermarkets. Etc

I visited in October and it was pleasant to walk around and not too busy. I could get a seat in any bar/restaurant in the day or evening. The beaches were clean and streets were kept clean and tidy too. I enjoyed the tourist train for a day, stopping off at different points. I even used it at night to visit the strip for a meal. Well worth a visit :-)

When we came to Albufeira this summer we were in for a bit of a shock. It was packed...especially after the sun set. Endless Bars, endless drunks.... we thought this might not be our cup of tea.
But we were wrong and ended up loving Albufeira very much. In the daytime most folks head to the beaches and the town is surprisingly quiet. And it's nice to wander the streets with the beautiful buildings. Most of it traffic free. There are a bunch of chain stores, but lots of independent shops as well. We shopped lots of good clothes, nice and light (but still strong) fabric...perfect for hot summer days. Also some souvenirs of course, which can be found anywhere. But you can find some good quality and also good deals, if you bring some time with.
It's a charming old town with a wonderful beach in front with nice and really clean sand and waters.
For good souvenirs and gadgets of all kind you should head to the "Sunshine Chinese Shop" close to the waterfront. For nice and affordable clothing check out the "Adriana Moda" Shop on the main square.
Food can be found all around town. But if you wanna avoid cheap fast food and set menus catering to the party crowd I recommend you the "O Zuca" which is really just around the corner from the main square, but feels like a different world. Great, authentic Portuguese Food.

Outstanding place ❤ the Old Town of Albufeira is exactly what I came for to Portugal. Beautiful small streets, amazing trees, obviously loads of stray cats for me to pet :) old architecture that has not been changed or modernized in any way. One way roads where you have to be very careful not to fall into the furious drivers ;) love the place. You can also visit the museum of ancient things that has been found on the coast of Albufeira.

Loved it here but as we were staying nearer New town didn't get to spend enough time here. Will try to get accommodation here next time we go to Albufeira. This seems to be better at catering for families. Check out the Bank and Buddies Restaurants there lovely food.

Show. O tunel de acesso é um elemento a parte sempre tem um artista de rua acariciando os sentidos. A esplanada que dá acesso à praia do Peneco é espetacular. Sentar ali ao fim de tarde, ver o mar, sozinho, de preferencia com uma boa companhia, um bom vinho...não tem preço. Vale a pena.

Nice spot if you are looking for a variety of souvenirs from Portugal/Albufeira. If you want to combine your shopping experience with a stay at a hostel, pubs close by, tasty meals from divers restaurants, snack points or take away spots, this is the place to be. The beautiful Albufeira beach is just a stone's throw next to this hotspot, simply pass the old town tunnel and there you have it all yours. This spot can get crowded during high season and parking is a challenge. Car Parking close to the church bell tower (Av. do Ténis) to enjoy the last mile walking through the small alleys is highly recommended.

Lovely town and beach. March 2018 has been quite rainy and windy. The residents say this is odd for the weather even though it is the rainy season they are worried about global warming here too

Dropped off by taxi, walked into a tourist area, lots of shops selling the usual beach fayre, souvenirs, flip flops, sunglasses, etc. Every other shop a bar or restaurant, cobbled pavements, white washed buildings, steep inclines. Lots of paths leading to the beach, pretty stunning coastline, sandy rock faces and cliffs.
Lots of good vantage point for photographing scenery, walk to the marina easily accessible but not much to see sort from a boat park. You walk past the fishing port. Nice walk and scenic but a bit boring.
