The Fado was alright. Kind of fun. The food was heavily over salted and inedible. I left over half of it uneaten. 70 euros for a meal that was mostly inedible.

Nice building and atmosphere. However most of food was very average and whilst Fado was very good, it was far too short. Not very good value for money compared to what's around. More a place for discounted groups

מקום מומלץ ביותר לשמוע פאדו ולאכול טוב. בעלת הבית היא הזמרת הראשית. זמרת נשמה ודיווה אמיתית. שרה במקום כבר 13 שנים, מגיל 20. מעוצב כמרתף יין מימי הביניים. האוכל טעים מאוד והשירות אישי. מומלץ להגיע בשמונה ולאכול ברוגע. המופע מתחיל בתשע. הם שרים כשלושה שירים בכל פעם ועושים הפסקה של כעשר דקות בין לבין.
בלי לשים לב בילינו 3.5 שעות.
חובה לכל מי שמגיע לליסבון בפעם הראשונה. אחר כך, כבר תלוי אם אתם אוהבים את הסגנון...

Una delle cene più belle della mia vita. Locale chiaramente di categoria superiore , ottimo cibo ma soprattuto un fado eccezionale. L'atmosfera era quasi surreale dato anche il locale antico che si prestava molto bene al tipo di musica. Tra qualità del cibo e dello spettacolo il prezzo è giustificato. Caldamente raccomandato per una cena romantica (se si rimane fino a tardi si può letteralmente rimanere a tu per tu coi musicisti..). Tra l altro il servizio è ottimo e il personale super cordiale.

El lugar es muy bonito, cenas en un salón que recuerda a una sala de un antiguo castillo. La cuenta es cara, cobran 15€ del espectáculo de fado a parte (pagas el espectáculo, no esta incluido en la cena), los platos tanto de carta como de menú son carisimos para lo que son y además tienen el feo detalle de sin preguntarte si quieres agua directamente abren la botella y te sirven para luego cobrarte los 4€ del agua además de cobrarte 5€ por persona por cubierto. El espectáculo de fado fue muy agradable

Muzyka genialna, wspaniała, przejmująca i przyprawiająca o ciarki. Cała reszta to żenada. Zaczynając od nachalnych kelnerów wciskających co i rusz jakieś zakąski których nie chcesz a za które zapłacisz, przez mokre serwety, których nie sposób było rozłożyć na kolanach, po żenująco słabe zakąski po których nie ma się ochoty na danie główne. Dodatkowo w moim daniu znalazłem spory kawałek plastykowego opakowania. Niestety nawet muzyka nie była w stanie uratować tego wieczoru bo grają 3 piosenki i robią pół godziny przerwy podczas których kelnerzy latają jak głupi próbując wcisnąć klientom jak najwięcej. Ogólnie miał to być magiczny wieczór z fado przy jedzeniu godnym talerzyka Michelin a było wielkie rozczarowanie i wyjście z lokalu dużo przed zakończeniem występów. Nie polecam.

Bardzo bardzo rozczarowuje miejsce pod kątem jedzenia i obsługi. Mokre serwetki, plastik/ folia w jednym daniu, które i tak bardziej przypominało danie z baru szybkiej obsługi niż z restauracji z przewodnika Michalin to tylko niektóre słabe strony tego miejsca. Przepiękna muzyka ale grana po 3 piosenki z ponad pół godzinnym przerwami nie wystarczyła by zostać w tym miejscu dłużej. A szkoda. Nie mam pojęcia skąd to miejsce ma 3 z rzędu talerzyki Michelin... Nie polecam tego miejsca. Piękna muzyka ale warto poszukać innego miejsca by jej posłuchać

This was my first visit to a Fado-Restaurant. The performance was good but the food was overprized and there were additional fees that they put on the bill, such as a table cover for the dry bread that is standing on the table and that is definitely not worth 5 €. By the way such extra charges are forbidden according to Portuguese Law. No locals, it's a very touristy place. Can't recommend it.

J'ai fait une réservation pour deux personnes par email pour le 08/02/2019 (pas moyen d'avoir quelqu'un au bout du fil )
a 20 h 30 on arrive, on trouve le restaurant fermé et même cadenassé, on fait le tour a la recherche d'un autre accès. .rien
on retourne sur nos pas la soirée gâchée
on se contente d'un diner sans fado dans leao dauro

An unforgettable evening - the high ratings are well-deserved. Being housed in the remnants of a building that was destroyed in the 1755 earthquake, the restaurant has the feeling of taking you back in time. The servers were very pleasant. The food was absolutely delightful. I opted for the "Menu Savade" which lets you taste a bit of everything, and includes the otherwise separate 15€ cover. Lovely presentation and full of flavour. The musicians were incredibly talented. They each had their own unique interpretation of the fado style. Make sure you stay until midnight if you want to hear everything (many people left after the 3rd set, but there was more!). The manager visited with each table individually, which was a nice touch, and she also had an amazing singing voice! Obrigada.

The building itself was beautiful and the atmosphere during dinner and the Fado was very romantic. All of the staff were really attentive and we had some of the best food and wine of our holiday! The portions were really generous and we were also treated to some little extras before and after the meal. The Fado was the highlight though! Well worth the €15 cover charge!

A place not to miss when in Lisbon.
A good idea is to call and reserve as it gets full fast.
The fado show was amazing and the food was wonderful.
Thank you to all the staff for accommodating us as the place was completely full. Yet they managed to find us a little spot. Will definitely return.

È stata una esperienza unica. Non sono amante del fado, ma mi sono ricreduta. La serata è stata speciale. La padrona di casa oltre a essere una brava cantante è un anfitrione molto cortese...Lo spettacolo mi è piaciuto molto e anche la cena è stata buona. prima di questa sera non sapevo nemmeno chi fosse jorge fernando ma ho scoperto un musicista con una voce particolare e la sua "estranhamente" la canticchio tutti i giorni. Una cosa da fare a lisbona!!!

숙소 주변에 다양한 파두 하우스가 있었는데, 화려하지않은 고급진 인테리어와 평점에 끌려 방문했는데 평점보다 더 친절하고 맛있었습니다. 파두 공연은 정말 멋졌구요! 코스 요리가 양이 많아서 좀 남긴게 아쉽네요ㅠㅠ 조용하고 차분하게 즐기기에 좋은곳입니다! 100% 추천!

Fado performers are passionate and outstanding. You may expect more from service and food standards and in this respect the restaurant can be seen as overrated. Would highly recommend as a music venue due to the highly professional performers and the venue's atmosphere.

By far the best night in Portugal thus far..great food.. fantastic singers and guitarists..the service was great..place was full but comfortable... People should remember that they are paying for top class entertainment and good food... definitely be back and telling our friends about this wonderful spot...thank you for a memorable night.. Food quality is good and matches the prices. Portion size however is really small so you better don't go there very hungry unless you are willing to spend accordingly.
The live music is okay, if you like this type of music. However, charging 15€ only for that is a joke. I've been to many, many live music bars and restaurants and had much better entertainment free of charge.
Last but not least, one of the waiters showed a surprisingly arrogant attitude. In my opinion this is the least acceptable aspect for such a high class, high price restaurant.
Overall, I would give between 2 and 3 stars. I go with the 3 because the taste (which is most essential in a restaurant) was pretty good and because the female waitresses were all pretty friendly. Personally, however, I would not go there again.

Sorry folks, aber bei diesem Service ist eine Erwähnung im Michelin sehr zweifelhaft. Mit einer Gruppe von 12 Leuten, wurde der Hauptgang in 15 Minuten verteilt, dabei waren die Portionsgrössen für diese Preislage nicht den Preis wert. Tut mir wirklich leid, aber nie mehr wieder.

did not enjoy the experience. a few watch outs for other people:
1) the service is very slow, so definitely eat something before coming here.
2) eat the bread, if you refuse, they will serve the other guests first before you and you'll wait even longer for the food. this happened to the table next to us
3) tourists love being at places with other tourists. if this is not true for you, then avoid this place

What an amazing and moving performances!!! When you go, reserve earliest time slot and stay to the very end @4hours! You won’t regret it! The food matched that of the 5star review of performance. It was delicious, fresh and mouth watering! The environment and wait staff were exceptional!

I stumbled upon this place when looking for a restaurant to have dinner on my last day in Lissabon and which was no too far away from my hotel. It was only later whe. I discovered that this establishment is mainly known for their fado shows. I couldn’t determine if the Fado was authentic, but at any rate, I really enjoyed it. As far as the food is concerned, I followed their degustation menu and wad very pleased, especially since there was also an accompanying wine set.
The place may be a little bit touristic, but I can still highly recommend it. They offer both an interesting cultural and a great eating experience for people new to Portugal.

Excellent in all aspects! We had dinner and enjoyed fado all night long. All courses were excellent, tasty yet delicate, the desserts being no exception. There was an ample variety of wines to choose from. The artists excelled too, both the guitarists and the singers. The ambience, defined by warm soft candlelight, was definitively romantic! Just perfect if you are in love with the other one, as in my case. You need to know this place!

We visited here while on holiday in Lisbon.
We loved the decor and the tables, it was not too cramped and felt very romantic. Service was very attentive and professional.
We opted for the tasting menu which was good but I felt could have used a little more fish/meat. However, we did enjoy it and felt overall it was good value for money.
The fado was the main reason for our visit and we were not disappointed. The musicians were very engaging and the quality of the singing and playing was excellent.
I would definitely recommend a visit while in Lisbon.

Mediocre food and the waitors are not capable of communicating (either in English or confirming they have understood). One cannot expect too mich of a touristy place like this but the pricing of the mandatory basket of bread and accompanyments thai was put on the table is rediculous. Why put it on the menu when you put it on the table without asking? I’ve had a fine night but would definately recommend an other place for someone to eat and listen to fado.

Ambiente muy logrado para escuchar fado. El arroz de marisco, excelente!!!.
La atención de camareras profesional y amable, aunque un poco lenta. Los fadistas magnificos. Cabe destacar, para los amigos del fado, que en todas las piezas interpretadas la viola está a cargo de Jorge Fernando, renombrado intérprete y compositor. En conjunto, una velada deliciosa.

Desde donde estábamos sentados no veíamos nada, era como escuchar un disco (con el cuello estirado y retorcidos), los cantantes apenas se movian. Entre tres fados y los tres suguientes, más de 20 minutos, se hace larguísimo. Lugar bonito, cantantes profesionales...pero muy cara la carta, el vino y tasa de espectáculo. Prefiero ir a un teatro con buena visibilidad y ver espectáculo de un tirón y bien sentada o
una casa de fados más sencilla y económica.

Wonderfully attentive staff, truly excellent fado, excellent food, and a unique ambiance. Our team of servers were quick and polite, and the shared seafood rice entree was the very best seafood of our stay in Lisbon. Our table was in the furthest corner of the room and incredibly warm during our meal - try to get a seat closer to the air conditioner during these hot summer nights!

Orezul si pastele prost gatite, fara gust, apoase. Preturi exagerate la mancare. Taxa de spectacol-15 euro de persoana. Appetizer-ul= 3 feliute de paine/persoana, si o lingurita de unt, una de pasta de masline, una cu pasta de branza si una cu pasta de peste/ la 4 persoane- 5 euro/persoana, ti se aduce la masa si il regasesti la final pe nota de plata, indiferent daca il mananci sau nu. Spectacolul dragut, dar nu merita sa mananci in acest restaurant pentru a asculta muzica fado. Supraevaluat, dupa parerea mea!

Ambiente muito acolhedor, pratos muito bem confeccionados e óptima apresentação. Funcionários muito atentos, serviço impecável. Quanto aos fadistas uma nova geração cheia de garra, de voz talentosa e de uma simpatia que nos faz sentir o desejo de voltar. Guitarristas de muito mérito. Le repas est excellent, les chanteurs de Fado exceptionnels, l'accueil excellent et professionnel mais l'eau à 4,50 €, le café à 3€ le couvert à 4,50€ tout cela fait exploser l'addition et rend la soirée beaucoup moins idyllique.
Nous avons néanmoins passé une très bonne soirée avant l'addition

Absolutely amazing food (maybe desert menu could be slightly improved but it may be personal preference) ... slightly disappointed with Fado performance - there was almost no interaction with Non-Portugese speaking audience ... I had much better experience 4 years ago (sorry)

Gran espectáculo de fado y sitio muy elegante. La comida estaba muy buena. Nosotros compartimos una entrada de buñuelos de bacalao y un plato principal de atún que estaba perfecto, jugoso y fresco. Los platos principales son muy abundantes por lo que se pueden compartir perfectamente. Tuvieron el detalle de traernos el atún ya dividido en dos platos con su correspondiente guarnición. Sobre el precio comentar que no se puede obviar que no se trata de sólo un restaurante, lo principal es el fado... es de gran calidad y el ambiente muy logrado al dejar la sala con la luz de las mesas. Si tienes que ir a un concierto al teatro y luego cenar no te sale por menos....El servicio muy atento y nada lento, las pausas son para escuchar fado y “vuelan” entre actuación y actuación.
Repetiría sin dudarlo.... sobre las críticas de que el fado y la comida no es de calidad... completamente falso. Había mucho público portugués y turismo respetuoso... fue una noche muy bonita y un gran espectáculo. Imprescindible reservar antes.

What a gorgeous restaurant to have dinner with music. I went there with my friends and it was really amazing and wonderful day. Food was so delicious and the service was also very good. The manager, singers, guitarists, waiters and other staff's are really very cool with Smiley face ☺ . I never went before like this restaurant. The architecture and design of the restaurant is historical. I really enjoy alot. I recommend people to visit this restaurant to have dinner.. Thank you so much to all staffs and the manager for your good service.

Een bijzonder sfeervolle avond gehad. Niet gereserveerd, maar gelukkig het laatste vrije tafeltje. Hier moet je de tijd nemen om te genieten van de bijzondere combinatie van eten, fado en middeleeuswe sfeer. Visgerecht met kreeft en garnalen erg lekker, maar niet heel apart. Uitstekende wijnen. Prijzen te hoog voor wat er geboden wordt. Bediening zeer vriendelijk en professioneel.

Sehr schönes Restaurant im Gewölbekeller. Wir waren mit einer Reisegruppe dort. Das Menue wurde im Vorfeld ausgesucht und musste auch im Voraus bezahlt werden. Natürlich höhere Preisklasse aber absolut gerechtfertig. Die Qualität der Speisen war sehr hochwertig, das Personal sehr zuvorkommen, schnell und freundlich. Der im Menue enthaltene Wein war ebenfalls sehr gut. Der Fado Gesang hervorragend. Wir können dieses Restaurant vorbehaltlos weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!

O espectáculo de fado vale os 30 euros de taxa de espectáculo que são cobrados apesar de não sermos informados disso até à altura em que nos colocam a conta à frente. O serviço é muito simpático mas de uma lentidão que leva ao desespero. E a comida é muito pobre e sem qualquer paladar. 30 euros por um medalhão de novilho grelhado, frio, cuja guarnição é um cogumelo e uma ponta de endivia (porque as batatas quando chegaram 15 minutos depois já tínhamos acabado de comer. No final 130 euros por 2 jantares!!! Não posso de modo algum recomendar este sítio e a mim não me apanham lá nunca mais. Um bem haja.

Eher edleres Restaurant in schönem Gewölberaum. Die Hauptgänge liegen zwischen25 und 30€, hinzu kommen 15€ je Person für den Gesang, ein Glas Wein ca. 7-10€. Das Essen ist gut, der Gesang (3 verschiedene Sänger und 2 Gitarren) ebenfalls. Im Publikum wohl ausschließlich Touristen.
Ein schöner Abend war es insgesamt.

The overview should say $$$ or $$$$ and the food, the worst I’ve had for a long time. Too salty to finish it all, and it was chewy. They did not ask how the food was, but I did tell them politely and got an apology but no ‘’I will let the chef know’’ and no apparent concern that a customer couldn’t finish their food. I left hungry. I would have given it one star only, but one of our group loved their food and the music too.

All I could taste was salt, and the hair in my rice. Possibly the worst food I've had in a while, including my bad home cooking. Service was good, polite and respectful. Good fado but I was not prepared to pay the 15€ fee per person that I found out about after finishing my meal. Would have preferred to stay home.

Des chanteurs de Fado exceptionnels, concernant le restaurant ça n’est pas à la hauteur pour un prix trop élevé.
1h d’attente pour les plats même si la cuisine en elle même et plutôt bonne, les quantités trop petite et une addition pour le Portugal qui est trop élevée ! Enfin, leur façons de faire ne sont pas à la hauteur du standing recherché.
Nous aurions payé avec plaisir si ils étaient au top mais là ça sent trop le business.

Wir sind leider erst gegen 2300 gekommen, weil wir an diesem Tag angereist sind. Doch sie haben uns noch etwas zu essen offeriert, welches sehr gut war.
Dann haben sie Fado gespielt bis ca 0130, obwohl wir schlussendlich nur noch zu viert zuhörten. Es war ein beeindruckendes Konzert. Am Ende des Abends haben wir noch eine CD der Künstlerin gekauft.
Der Abend war insgesamt teuer, aber das ausgegebene Geld wert. Pro Person bezahlt man 30 € für die Unterhaltung & Musik, und dann kommt noch das Essen mit dem Getränken dazu - nochmals ca 30 Euro.
Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder dorthin gehen, aber einiges früher.

Fomos colocados numa mesa na entrada onde a porta aberta era um transtorno
Tinha feito a reserva a muito tempo e embora o horário de chegada era 21 chegamos as 21:30 e nos deram está mesa na cara de pau
Quem recebi ainda fez ironias que era a única mesa
Por outro lado o serviço dos garçons foi ótimo

The food and wine were good but not spectacular. However, the service was perfect, the venue was very nice, but most importantly the Fado was breathtaking. I should give it 4 or 4.5 stars, but the Fado was just amazing. Would definitely return, and definitely recommend it. Only bad thing is that it is a bit expensive, but totally worth it.

Un vrai spectacle, une salle intime, des chanteurs professionnels pour une vrai experience du Fado. La cuisine est bonne, mais peut être améliorée. L'addition est élevée, cependant il faut dire que c'est pour un dîner plus un spectacle. Ne pas être étonné par la facturation des couverts, pain et huile, c'est le standard à Lisbonne.
Si vous arrivez à 20:00 et prenez votre temps vous pourrez avoir entre 10 et 13 chansons.

I did not really what to expect from this Fado place. It was recommended by a friend of mine who has been living in Lisboa for years.
It is located in a small street in Alfama district, close to the Marina, and three minutes walking from Comercio Square.
The concept is very specific: dinner interrupted each half an hour by a three songs set from a Fado singer. During the show, everything stops, and you are in a very intimate environment.
The food was really good. We enjoyed specially the cod, typical from Portugal.
But the best part was the show. Four singers and three guitar players playing by turns made our night very special. Heart felt songs whose lyrics you don't need to understand to be able to feel the immense nostalgia, singers singing from their soul will make your evening a very special moment.

Great food and great Fado! It's a bit on the pricier side but we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, located in an old stone building. We enjoyed 5-6 Fado performances with 2-3 songs each and 5 different singers, including a surprise performance by a guest, which also was the most powerful.
Food is good but not spectacular, but you come for the fado and great service on top of that.

you may feel price is high, but worth it.
there is 15 euros show fee for each person so we ordered 65euros/person course menu which includes show fee, and we were very satisfied. unlike other fado houses there are 3 different singers and 2 players and all of them perform stunning.

Since we ordered we had to wait more than 2 hours to get dinner, what ruined our night. The worst of it all is that we were not an exception, as most people received their meals also extremely late.
Despite the place is nice, the music is very good, and the food is tasty, we found it totally overrated. Prices here are very high, so the requirement level must be proportional.

Une soirée plutôt parfaite, jusqu'à l'addition.
La salle principale est très agréable, voûtée et haute de plafond. Les tables sont en majorités très grandes, destinées à des groupes de touristes. Rien de vraiment intimiste ici. Les portes ouvrent à 20h. Plusieurs hors-d'oeuvre vous seront offerts, mais finalement facturés (5e/personne). Il faut attendre 21h30 pour la première représentation, un chanteur, 3 chansons. Seconde prestation à 22h30, une chanteuse, 3 chansons. Les plats sont très bons, mais pas forcément au niveau "gastronomique" annoncé (environ 30e/plat). Le service et l'accueil sont très agréables. Les plus patients ont eu droit à 2 autres sets courts de chansons, à 23h et 00h. Les musiciens et chanteurs sont très talentueux, bien qu'assez susceptibles au moindre bruit (compliqué avec les tables de touristes). Au final 112euros pour deux personnes, plat+dessert+bouteille d'eau ! Cela comprend 15e/personne de Show Tax. Trop cher il me semble pour cette enseigne présentant pourtant de bons atouts.

Absolutely magnificent! The service, staff, food, drinks, and especially fado were exceptional. Very nice atmosphere with extremely talented musicians that brought us to tears. They even stayed after the closing time to sing some more songs just for us since we were the last people there. The whole staff there is excellent! They even gave us food recommendations for all around Portugal and some further information for the rest of our trip. Très bon restaurant. Le cadre est magnifique, le repas délicieux et surtout les chanteurs sont merveilleux. Le prix vaut largement la soirée que vous allez passer. Je reviendrai c'est sûr :)
Les chanteurs viennent au long de la soirée chanter 2-3 chansons ce qui vous laisse aussi le temps de profiter des personnes qui vous accompagnent.

Wonderful and autentic.
We were prepared to meet a "tourist fado", but were blown away with the real thing fado. Great guitarists and singers! Even fado star Mariza came to sing this evening!
We had already had dinner and wanted to enjoy just fado and drinks, and the wine menu was great. No problem just enjoying wine and fado.
Best experience in Lisbon!

Un passage en obligé à toutes les personnes qui souhaitent découvrir le célèbre Fado. Un très bel endroit, de superbes chanteurs et une cuisine assez simple. Ça vaut le coup surtout pour le cadre et les chanteurs !

We had heard 'fado' restaurants had just medium food at best. This is not the case here!
We opted for the all inclusive meal and we're delighted with each course.
Once the fado singers arrived we were once again impressed. We recommend you spend the evening.

Pour le passage 2015-2016 nous sommes allés dans le quartier Alfama, une petite rue qui ne paye pas de mine, dans une grande salle voutée, service attentionné, trés bonne viande copieuse et trés bien cuite. Vania, chante merveilleusement bien et son mari, qui parlent très bien le français, nous ont accueillis avec beaucoup de chaleur. Cela restera un excellent souvenir. Mady 2

I advise against. The atmosphere and food were fine, and the fado was good, some of it was excellent (but the first person I saw frustrated me. She acted like she was super famous, and I found her to be the least talented). The waiters were nice too (unlike some reviews I just read). But I think you will find similar good quality anywhere you go in Lisbon. The problem with this place is it's just way too expensive. I searched the place online just now to make a review and came across the Brazilian version of TripAdvisor, and they're all VERY negative. I wish I had read that before going! Basically, almost anywhere else (and I have gone to other fado places) is going to be cheaper, and with just as good quality. I was also frustrated at how they make you wait a lot. Each set is only about three songs long, and then they have a rest. People are only allowed to come in and out (and this includes waiters!) when there is no music. I think they do that to play up the idea that the fado singers are great artists. Whatever! I don't see why a singer can't keep singing when people are moving about some.
So, to sum up, fine, but not worth the extremely high prices: you have to consume 40€, that's their minimum (until 11pm). They charge you 15€ just for sitting there (and I assume that wouldn't count as part of the 40). Plus they put bread and olives and a big bottle of mineral water at your table without asking, and those carry high prices each. It would be pretty much impossible to eat and have a drink and stay at the minimum.

El fado buenísimo pero los precios del restaurante a años luz de la calidad de la cocina.Ejemplo:18 de agosto,2 personas,2 primeros(mini),2 segundos,un postre y una botella de vino de 20€ = total a pagar 132€,o sea un atraco a mano armada.Sólo apto para turistas inexpertos cómo nosotros.
