Arrived at check in at 10.30pm after a delayed flight into Lisbon. We rang ahead as soon as we landed to say we may be a little after 11pm as that was the latest check in time for the receptionist to say if you’re late we won’t allow you in. Poor service when we got there. I know it was only a hostel but the rooms were an absolute disgrace and would advise anyone considering this to stay well away.

O pior lugar onde me hospedei. O quarto não correspondia a propaganda feita, o lugar é sujo, toalhas velhas e rasgadas, tudo desconfortável. Não indico esse lugar a ninguém.

Cozy hostel, with balcony and good views, well located, in the heart of Lisbon downtown, close to multiple places to visit, a nice view of the plaza of Commerce, multiple rooms, big ones, kitchen and bathrooms are shared, overall a good experience, I recommended this hostel and for the location and facilities, it is a reasonable price.

Lo mejor es la locación muy céntrico para el metro bus y lugares turísticos excelente ubicación pero el check in es en el sexto piso y los cuartos en el tercero y el agua no siempre caía caliente. Pero por el precio beneficio creo q le doy un 7.5

Hôtel très bien placé à côté du tram 28 et de l'Arc de Triomphe, personnel adorable et salles de bain toujours très propres. La literie est très confortable, prévoir juste des bouchons d'oreilles car la rue est très animée. Nous avons passé un super séjour, merci !

Muy bien situado, a 1 min de Plaza del Comercio. El personal muy amable y atento. Pero nuestra habitación era muy pequeña y con las paredes sucias (se ve que hace años que no pintan) y los muebles viejos y medio rotos. Los baños bien, pero poco cuidados. Los pasillos son oscuros, pero la cocina bien equipada y luminosa.

Uma gracinha!! Helena é um amor e super simpática! As escadas no 4o andar pode ser um problema mas se precisa solicite o quarto do andar de baixo! Pelo contrário é excelente cama confortável banheiro compartilhado muito limpo e a cozinha equipada! Próximo de tudo mas tudo mesmo o táxi do aeroporto é tabelado fica em torno de 19 euros dependendo da quantidade de bagagens nós estávamos em 4 pessoas. Aproveitem Lisboa é expetacular

Жили три ночи на третьем этаже 26.02-01.03 2019.Номер угловой,два окна до пола(по сути-выходы на общий длинный балкон)+есть деревянные ставни.Постель,одеяла(пледы),подушки-все отлично.Есть шкаф,2 тумбочки,стойка для одежды тканевая.Два совмещенных санузла-чистые,банных средств и фена нет.Кухня хорошая,чистая.СВЧ+чайник+тостер+холодильник,стол,4 стула.Посуда есть. Под окнами-шумная улица с ресторанами и кафе,бутиками.Ходит трамвайчик-шумно.Мы везде спали в берушах.В номерах свежо,но так везде в Португалии,обогреватели не давали,нам было нормально.На ресепшэн разговаривают на англ.Туристический сбор-по два евро/ночь за человека.На букинге заявлено 1евро.Оплатили без споров.Рекомендую

Przesympatyczne miejsce w samym centrum. Super cena, świetnie wyposażona kuchnia, bardzo miła właścicielka.

The location is fantastic and the room is pretty clean. The only drawback is the noise but it was manageable. You can not beat it for the price.

It was rather old and basic, but for $50 you get what you pay for. Keep in mind that it is a hostel and not a hotel.The view from the balcony was beautiful and the location was great. The bathrooms were clean. The staff were helpful and available when needed.We would stay again.

De kamer was wat klein (drie persoonskamer) maar schoon. Op onze etage waren twee badkamers die er netjes uitzagen. Tevens was er een keukentje, eetkamer en woonkamer. Wel miste het hostel sfeertje. Dit word goed gemaakt door de centrale ligging voor de meeste toeristen attracties.

A very clean hostel, centrally located. The host is great, very responsive and provides service with a smile. The hostel has a kitchenette with all the basic requirements. Location is very central, corner with the pedestrianised road Rua Augusta, so may be a bit noisy due to tram and the touristic activity.

O Hostel é limpo, tem muitas escadas então se tiver malas se prepare. A vista é linda . A localização é muito boa. A única reclamação seria que deixamos o pó de café na cozinha e quando fomos fazer o café o pó não estava mais lá ... Eu recomendo mas com cautela ....

La localisation est parfaite... l’hôtel se trouve au cœur de Lisbonne et même dans une rue où il passe le célèbre tram 28! Le personnel est très gentil et accueillant. Par contre préparez-vous a grimper même jusqu’au 5ème étage sans ascenseur! Ainsi sachez que votre chambre ne sera jamais nettoyée tout au long de votre séjour et que les chambres sont petites!

Great location just off the main high street but not noisy...only downside is the 3-4 flights of stairs to the rooms. Clean rooms, new bath room, good size rooms for a hostel. A big plus is the hostel staff were very welcoming, attentive and nice people. Good value!

If You are considering staying in Riverview hostel - 100% go! Perfect place, beautiful view, wonderful atmosphere. Rooms are magical and ladies who took care of us are so nice. Besides, location couldn’t be better.

This place is a gem. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is excellent. It is a budget hostel in an old building with a shared bathroom and shower, and you have to carry your luggage up four flights of steps, but the value is excellent. The rooms open onto a shared balcony with an incredible view of Rua Augusta both up toward the heart of Baixa and down just a few blocks toward the Lisboa Memoria and the riverfront. There are lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood just around the hotel. Its just a short work to the Barrio Alto in one direction and Alfama in the other. Perfect spot.

the most clean hostel we have ever encountered. almost to extremes....but the room with three bed is so tiny there is no place to stand up.the roads bellow are very busy and noisy.it is impossibe to sleep with an open window in summer and there is no air conditioning.also,all rooms share the same long balcony along the building and the window is a door so it cannot be left open to air when you go out.i think you must write that you need to climb 100 wooden steps to the rooms! especially when people have suitcases and other luguage.it is not a simple climb at all.the ktchen is great but there are hundreds of very cheap eating places just below....

Es un lugar acogedor con mucha luz, una cocina muy apañá, y sobre todo MUY LIMPIO. Hay una mujer de la limpieza que friega hasta las papeleras por dentro TODOS LOS DIAS. Te dan toallas y mantita. Lo único regular, hay mucho ruido por el día pero a partir de las 12 de la noche no se nota gran ruido

Acogedor. Muy amables siempre. Esta justo en la calle turistica (rua Augusta) y hay ruido durante todo el día.

Wir verbrachten drei Nächte im River-View-Hostel. Gleich zu Beginn wurden wir unheimlich nett begrüßt und herumgeführt. Man fühlt sich in diesem Hostel direkt zu Hause.Es ist ein Hostel, kein Hotel, das sollte man wissen.Ein kleines Manko ist der fehlende Aufzug im Treppenhaus – unser Zimmer befand sich im vierten Stock. Es gibt aber auch Zimmer im zweiten Stock – wer nicht gerne Treppen steigt, bittet am besten bei der Buchung um ein solches. In unserem Zimmer schloss die Tür zum Balkon leider nicht 100%ig (kleiner Spalt), was in Lissabon meistens wohl komplett unkritisch ist; leider hatten wir ein paar kühlere Tage erwischt. Es wurde uns aber schon bei der Anreise eine kleine Heizung angeboten (so kalt war es dann aber doch nicht). Das Hostel ist vorbildlich sauber, auch und vor allem im Sanitärbereich. Die Badezimmer werden geteilt (auf unserer Etage befanden sich zwei Bäder und sechs Schlafzimmer mit jeweils, 2 oder 3 Betten). Die Badezimmer waren (mindestens) täglich gereinigt und die Handtücher getauscht. Eine kleine Küche steht für alle zur gemeinsamen Nutzung zur Verfügung, außerdem ein kleines Wohnzimmer. WiFi ist kostenlos (und flott).Insbesondere durch den wirklich unheimlich freundlichen Service haben wir uns absolut wohl gefühlt. Wie geschrieben, es ist ein Hostel und dies sollte man wissen (eine Geschäftsreise würde ich hier vermutlich nicht buchen), aber wer ein Hostel zur Unterbringung wünscht (oder erwartet) wird sich hier wohl fühlen.

Overall the hostel was a pleasant stay with a shared kitchen, small living room space, and two shared bathrooms. Conditions were very clean. Staff were extremely welcoming and assisted with storing luggage upon checkin as well.For the sake of mentioning negatives they were not major and should not be consequential in deciding if you should stay here. I would stay again. The bed was perhaps not the most comfortable but as a hostel it was standard. Also, it should be noted that the five flights of stairs that need to be traversed in order to get to the hostel may not be something everyone will accept. It was fine for me however.

Situated in a great area.You could walk to most of the places you would like to visit.The tram was just outside your door.

My first ever visit to Lisbon was very nice. The hostel is centrally located and I booked for a private room with shared bathroom. My room was on top floor with great views and the price was good too. Bare in mind that there is no lift and that you could end up climbing 5 floors to get to your room. So it is a bit of struggle and you need to be in good shape! The staffs did an amazing job in keeping the place really tidy and they were very helpful. Special mention to Tashi who is a very pleasant young lady and whose advice were really helpful :) If I ever visit Lisbon again I will definitely stay there again!

We've got a room with perfekt view, in the night it was a bit noisy because of other guest, but the host was super nice and tried her best to make us feel comfortable. The bath is cleaned really often, even its a bit old. We had a good time!

Poor insulation, feels like sleeping on the street. I did read some reviews before making the reservation and thought the noise would not be a problem, however, the property is located in downtown and you can constantly hear car horns and people performing on the street, as well as motorcycles passing by and at midnight, you can clearly hear street cleaners. really bad and I hope they quickly change their windows because the location is great.

Correct mais sans plus. Bien que la chambre était satisfaisante et le personnel très accueillant nous avons globalement été déçus par rapport aux commentaires lus. Équipements rudimentaires (notamment dans la salle de bain...), lieu très bruyant (musique tambourinante dans la rue non stop de 20h à 22h...), et nous avons vu plusieurs fois des cafards! Bref, pour 50€ en auberge de jeunesse on s'attendait à un meilleur rapport qualité/prix.

Tout près de la place du commerce et des fameux tramways.Laccueil est très aimable et lhôtel très propre.Un peu de bruit cependant le matin, car situé au coeur du quartier animé.

The Hotel is excellently located, however since we are in our 60s and 50s and the hotel not having an elevator, offered us a challenge . This should be clearly stated in their advertising, NO ELEVATOR. It was an over sight on our part that we failed to inquire about bath/toilette fascilities as we prefer private to communal.The hotel is definitely for the younger set. Price was fair. Staff friendly. Reminded me of college dorm days.

Very nice rooms with awesome views. The location couldn't be better! Shared big bathrooms and kitchens and livingrooms with TV and wifi on each floor. And plus people are very very friendly. I would repeat for sure!

Ficamos no quarto individual para duas pessoas. Grande e confortável, embora o aquecedor fosse um pouco fraco. Os quartos individuais ficam no segundo andar e o prédio não tem elevador. O banheiro é compartilhado mas em número suficiente. Limpeza do quarto, toalhas e cama muito boa, embora não seja feita todos os dias. Localização excelente, no centro de tudo e a uma ótima distância para os lugares interessantes, inclusive pontos de ônibus e bonde para ir para Belém. Sendo no centro e em andar baixo, o quarto era bem barulhento, principalmente devido a apresentações de rua e passagem de vários bondes. Preço excelente!

Desgraciadamente mi experiencia en el hotel no fuè buena. La mujer que atiende es muy maleducada. Gritaba a altas horas de la noche (una mujer portuguesa que es la encargada, las chicas que limpian super majas) y cuando le pedimos porfavor si podìa hablar bajo nos dijo que era su casa y hacìa lo que le daba la gana. Nos cerrò la puerta de la recepciòn en la cara. Le dije que mi esposo dormia y que era molesto el ruido y le diò igual. Cuando subiò a mi habitaciòn la mujer me encontrò comiendo en el mini comedor y me gritaba: mentirosa, decias que estabas durmiendo y no estas durmiedo...creo que realmente tiene un problema esa mujer. Como mi esposo estaba enfermy llegò al hotel una hora antes que un amigo y yo y se llevò las llaves. No podìamos abrir asì que tocamos el timbre sobre las 4 pm. Nos insultò por tocar el timbre y subìo a gritarnos. Cuando le dije que no tenìa llaves y que estaba pagando por hospedarme y tenìa derecho a entrar me dijo que ella no tenìa por que abrir...es la que està en recepciòn, por lo cual su reacciòn no tiene sentido. Luego cuando llegaron otros viajeros y les estaba enseñando el hotel comenzò a decirles cosas sobre nosotros a los nuevos huespedes: mira esa chica no le gusta que grite o haga ruido, etc. y continuò gritando todo el dia. Al dìa siguiente la mujer fuè a hablar con mi esposo y le dijo que querìa pedirme una disculpa ya que habìa tenido un "mal dìa" y que ella nunca habìa actuado asì con un cliente y era la primera vez...pues mi "mala suerte" fuè ser pagana de su mala educaciòn y obvio se le caìa la cara de verguenza a la mujer cuando se diò cuenta de su reacciòn pero el trato fuè tan tan malo que decidì escribir esta reseña. Aparte de la señora borde, el hotel està en un quinto sin ascensor y aunque dice que ganò un premio por "limpieza" en el 2012 no estaba ni sucio ni super limpio. Hay mucho ruido en el hotel, se escucha todo, el tranvìa los buses, la gente gritando por la calle etc. Pudo haber sido una estancia agradable pero fuè horrible. Lo ùnico que vale la pena, las vistas.

Das Hotel liegt auf der 4. und 5. Etage (Vorsicht kein Aufzug) eines schönen Altbaus mitten im Zentrum Lissabons. Alle wichtigen Stationen kann man zu Fuß erreichen. Es gibt eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, sodass man seine kosten wenn man möchte noch weiter reduzieren kann, obwohl ich das Hotel so Spottbillig fand, dass man sich guten Gewissens auch mal eine schönes Essen in den nicht weit gelegenen restaurants des bairro Alto gönnen konnte. Die beiden gemeinschaftsbäder wurden mehrmals am Tag vom freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Personal gereinigt, sodass man sich wie Zuhause fühlen konnte. Mein einziger wirklicher Kritikpunkt sind die unfassbar dünnen wände des hostels. Ich würde also vor allem leuten mit empfindlichem Schlaf empfehlen, Ohrstöpsel mitzubringen. Alles in allem würde ich das riverview hostel aber wärmstens weiterempfehlen, wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Kurzurlaub, mit einer Unterkunft, der außer etwas dickerer wände und vielleicht einem Fahrstuhl wirklich nichts gefehlt hat.

The location is amazing ... with everything easily accessible. Less than 2 blocks from Praca do Comercio with views of the Tejo river. Easy walking distance to Se Catedral and Castelo de Sao Jorge. About 5 minutes to the metro ... 10 minutes to Rossio train station to Sintra ... and same for Cais do Sodre train station to Belem. Cafes on either side of the entrance offering affordable breakfast ...numerous restaurants within a 10 minute walk ... and several club with Fado music also within 10-15 minute walk. All at a very affordable price. The rooms are very clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Lisbon on a budget !

Sehr sauberes und schönes Hostal. Etwas schwer zu finden, aber die Suche lohnt sich.Die Zimmer (gerümig, aber keine 5-12 Bett-Zimmer!) sind sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das lässt sich auch von den komplett neuen Gemeinschaftsbädern sagen.
