Would 100% come back. The staff is absolutely incredible, very helpful and friendly. The place is in incredible shape and very clean. You have a supermarket about 5 minutes away (Pingo Doce) and an incredible pastry shop just up the road (Boutique Doce, their Pasteis de Nata are to DIE for)

Ps: If you chose to stay here don't forget to buy yourself a 24h ticket (7.5€?) since one ride on the 28 tram costs almost 4€ and the stop is 1 minute away.

The guesthouse is just excellent! The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, comfortable snd clean as well as the bathrooms. By foot you reach the city center in about 25 mins or you take the bus or the tram if you are not that good by food. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could wish for and even though they don’t serve breakfast things like coffee, bread, jam etc. are free to use for all guest!

Das Zimmer war geschmackvoll gestaltet.Die Gemeinschaftsküche war sehr gut ausgestattet und immer in einem sauberen und aufgeräumten Zustand. Die Unterkunft stellt Kaffee, Tee und Marmelade zur Verfügung, obwohl Frühstück nicht angeboten wird.Das Personal war sehr freundlich.Ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in Lissabon.

I thought the property was very cute, historic with charm. They bedroom keys were cute but sometimes took a few tries to work. The room was wonderfully decorated and the bed super comfy. The things that could be improved...the room started to smell like cigarette smoke near the end of the night. Not sure if its because i had a room facing the street but as a non smoker this was not ideal. There was no fan in the room, so the air was dead and the street loud from celebrations outside. The other thing was there was no sheet on the bed, there was the fitted sheet and then a duvet. Also i tried to set up the safe as there were no instructions and instead it just locked shut. Overall i would come back again, the location was nice and the back patio looked very inviting.

Amazing place to stay in lisbon, the receptionist was lovely and couldnt do enough for us, the room was beautiful, very clean. Would recommend to anyone and will be staying here when i return to lisbon

Great place! I loved it. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was especially excellent. Anna and Marisa were amazing. They helped me with anything I needed. I can’t wait to come back. I would never stay anywhere else when I’m in Lisbon.

I can't say enough nice things about House São Bento and wish I could award it more than five stars. Anna and her colleagues were the perfect hosts and helped us with every aspect of enjoying Lisbon: transportation, recommendations for restaurants and fado, and sightseeing. Ana and her colleagues are such warm and welcoming people. This hospitality shines through in the guesthouse itself, which features clean and beautiful accommodations, a wonderful kitchen offering free coffee and other goods, and a porch for relaxing and soaking in Lisbon. I highly recommend that anyone considering staying in the São Bento neighborhood of Lisbon, a wonderful part of the city in its own right, should try to reserve a room at House São Bento. We certainly will if / when we return!

Cette guesthouse est juste parfaite: très bien situé, le personnel est très souriant, toujours disponible. La chambre et la salle de bain sont d'une propreté irréprochable, tout comme la cuisine commune. Notre suite donnait sur le balcon, très bucolique. Les lieux sont aménagés et décorés avec beaucoup de goût, nous avons adoré !

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit integriertem Bad. Insofern trifft hier das typische Guesthouse-Feeling nicht zu (geteilte Sanitäranlagen in den anderen angebotenen Zimmern). Es war sauber, das Bett bequem und alles in einwandfrei funktionierendem Zustand. Die Angestellten allesamt sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Küche und der Balkon werden gemeinschaftlich genutzt. Der Balkon ist sehr gemütlich angelegt und hat Morgensonne. So kann man dort den Tag mit einem Kaffee beginnen. Dieser kann mit der vorhandenen Filterkaffeemaschine zu jeder Zeit gebrüht werden. Das Guesthouse ist gut gebucht und somit entstehen aufgrund der geteilten Räume schnell Gespräche, in denen man Erfahrungen teilen und nützliche Tipps erhalten kann.Die Lage ist top, direkt an der Grenze zum Bairro Alto, wohin es zu Fuß nicht ganz 10 min sind. Auch der Bereich Estrela lohnt sich. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit dort und können SB nur weiterempfehlen.

The over all stay was really great! The guesthouse and its location are perfect for visiting Lissabon over a weekend. Shared kitchen and bathrooms are cozy and clean, the staff is nice and happy to give you advise. Also, on our last day it was no problem to leave the luggage at the reception. So, for the guesthouse itself i would give 5 stars, but unfortunately our room was not that great. It was next to a drainage, and opening a window for some fresh Air was not possible. Still, I can definately recommend to stay here, but in another room ;)

Es war ein bisschen unerwartet, dass man sozusagen in einer Wohnung mit anderen lebt (jeder hat ein eigenes Zimmer - auch ein eigenes Bad, welches im Gang liegt). Aber alles war sonst tiptop.

We loved at our stay at Sao Bento Guesthouse. The staff are extremely friendly. Our first room we stayed in was noisy from the the apartment above so we asked to upgrade our stay to an ensuite. This was by far the better decision. The room was quiet and the ensuite was amazing. Location is good. Not too far from anything.

Really nice place to stay, the reception was wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable and welll decorated. You have the usual services, kitchen, Wi-Fi , etc. Also it's very well located near transports, stores, points of interest.

The property is in a bit of a blind spot for public transport. There is a bus stop in front of the property and a tram stop around the corner but the tram is always full as in the middle of the line and the buses dont go where we wanted to go. Metro is a good deal further away. We ended up taking a taxi from the train station on arrival. Upstairs neighbours somehow liked stomping and jumping around. Staff are helpful and organised airport transfer.

Nette zuvorkommende Gastgeberin. Ruhiges Haus mit neu renovierten Zimmern. Das Haus wird noch renoviert und macht von Aussen noch nicht den besten Eindruck. Davon sollte man sich jedoch nicht abhalten lassen hier zu wohnen. Es ist trotzdem alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.von dort aus kann man sehr gut alles in der Umgebung erkunden.

Nice Hotel near City Center. Tram 28 is 2 minutes from the door. Very nice pepole and ambiente. You have there all what you need. Coffee, tea, lemon water for free. We had very nice time.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The room was large and clean, shared bathrooms were nice and clean as well. Multiple kitchens and shared balconies. The wifi was fast and the staff were friendly. A little loud in the morning with everyone moving around but overall a really nice stay.

During this trip to Lisbon, we decided to stay away from Bica and Bario Alto which are lovely places to visit but you get no sleep at night because of the nightlife. Sao Bento is a lovely area to stay in, it’s away from the crowds but close enough to everything, literally everything is a 10 min walk away!
House Sao Bento is a great guest house, the staff are really helpful and friendly. We stayed in a suite which was huge! The facilities in the room were good too.
The communal areas are nice and clean including the bathrooms. They balcony is pleasant in the evening.

The guesthouse is located in the Sao Bento district from where you reach the city center by foot within 15 min. The rooms are big and nicely decorated.It has a fully equiped kitchen and free water. The staff is really nice and helpful. We would highly recommend staying with them.

Excelente opção. Como guest house não conheço melhor. Um.ambiente super cool, numa localização bastante central, junto ao Palácio de Sao bento. Os quartos são todos duplos o que foje ao bulício dos tradicionais hostels e tem áreas comuns muito agradáveis, incluindo uma varanda/pátio otimo para quem.gosta de desfrutar das noites de verão. Aconselho vivamente a quem quer sentir se em casa em Lisboa!

Lovely place to stay in Lisbon! The staff was very friendly, and our room was very nicely decorated and spotless!
The common areas and clean and inviting. There's coffee, bread, and cereal available to guests. Guests can also do laundry for a fee.
I'd definitely recommend this guesthouse, it's affordable, comfortable, and within walking distance of downtown Lisbon!

It's a very budget quality experience. We got a suite but the balcony opens to a shared space, which defeats the purpose somewhat. There's no ac, and there are only the doors that open to the public balcony with no options of just opening windows. As a result, on a hot day, it can get somewhat uncomfortable. Furthermore, they don't offer complementary daily room cleaning services.

Nice staff and rooms were ok but location is too far from the action unless you want to take the tram all the time - not walking distance. There's also ALOT of noise from the kids thundering around upstairs til late at night.

Хороший гест-хаус. очень уютный, сотрудники приветливые. Комнаты хорошие, чистые, есть балконы, большие кухни. Из минусов: ванны и туалеты общие, но это никак не мешает, за все время проживания ни разу не пришлось стоять в очереди.

This place is a bit out of the way, and its not for people who need lots of attention. But if you want a tastefully appointed room in a nice area for low money, this is the place. I got the double room/shared bathroom and I was quite happy.

Das Zimmer und das eigene Bad auf dem Flur waren sauber, schön eingerichtet, gut ausgestattet und hatten eine gute Größe. Toll war auch die Küche in der alles vorhanden war um zu kochen. Es gab frisches Obst, Brot und Marmelade kostenlos. Die Angestellten waren wirklich sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Gegend ist auch sehr schön und scheint sicher zu sein (wir haben uns zumindest immer sicher gefühlt). Es gab in der Nähe Parks, Restaurants, einen Supermarkt, diverse Bus- und Tram-Haltestellen. Lissabon ist wirklich sehr schön und hat sehr viel zu bieten, das Wetter war warm und immer sonnig. Wir können das House São Bento Guesthouse nur jedem empfehlen.

Absolutely loved our stay at House Sao Bento Guesthouse. Although reception was not open when we arrived, as our flight was at 10pm, they gave us clear instructions of how to get into the property and where our room was. The property was clean throughout and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. I wish we could have stayed here for longer.

We were very grateful that the tram was nearby however taxi travel locally was also reasonably priced which we also used due to the heat and the hilly location! Great location and fantastic staff. There was no A/C and somehow our room was consistently substantially warmer than the hallway, to the point it was difficult to sleep even with fans running and windows open. The shower also would randomly spurt scalding hot and icy cold water for brief intervals, no matter what the temperature was set at.

We spent a few nights at the House Sao Bento in one of the rooms with a full private bathroom. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and shops close by for anything we needed. The staff (I have forgotten their names) were wonderful about keeping in touch with us about our arrival time and were very helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to visit and eat. I wish we had had more time in Lisbon.
This is a great place to stay at a great price.

Very good service and very clean. The room we got was very close to the entrance and the door not well isolated so we heard everyone coming in and out. Quite small bed for two people. But good location and all in all a good experience.

Die Unterkunft hatte einen persönlichen Flair, und man war nicht einfach nur ein Gast. Die Damen an der Rezeption halfen gerne und wi sie konnten. Es gab eine Küche mit Frühstücksverpflegung zur Selbstbedienung. Obwohl wir kein Bad im Zimmer hatten, mussten wir es glaube ich auch nur mit 2-3 weiteren Zimmer teilen. Es wurde jeden Tag geputzt. Unser Zimmer war eher klein, was für ein Paar weniger zum Problem wird. Jedoch waren wir Bruder und Schwester und fanden es dadurch eher eng. Es gab auch keinen wirklichen Platz, seine Kleider aus dem Koffer zu räumen. Jedoch bei Check in/out war man sehr flexibel und begrüsste uns auch um 19.30 noch herzlich. Und auch morgens war es kein Problem um 6 auszureisen. Auf der Hinreise organisierte das Gästehaus uns einen privaten Shuttle, was es einfach machte anzukommen. Direkt vor der Haustüre ist eine Bushaltestelle und ganz nah eine Haltestelle der E28. Und Nanarella ist eine Eisdiele die super lecker ist und nur 10min zu Fuss entfernt. :)

Établissement très bien situé dans le quartier historique à deux pas du palais du premier ministre portugais. Un arrêt de bus juste à la porte et le tramway dans la rue d’à côté rendent les déplacements faciles. Les chambres quant à elles sont plutôt petites mais en adéquation avec le prix.

Fantastic ! We lost our baggage at the airport and Ana was really helpful, calling them until they confirmed our baggage at the teminal Everything is clean , comfortable , wifi is good , it's in a really good spot, bathrooms are shared but it's really not an issue , there's many of them and they're always fresh and clean .

Le lieu est très bien placé et il y a un petit café-épicerie juste à côté de grande qualité. Ana fait très bien son travail sa collègue un peu moins et surtout peu souriante et agréable. La chambre standard est très petite et au rez-de-chaussée donnant sur larrêt de bus. Bruyant et très chaud! Lensemble est correcte.

This guesthouse is a really great place to stay, it is super clean and the rooms are spacious and beds are comfy! The only thing is the walls are paper thin so if you’re a light sleeper keep that in mind - you can hear everything happening outside all night especially on the weekend! It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre which is great too.

This is a fantastic accommodation. Our room and ensuite we're stylish, immaculate, thoughtful. The room quiet and peaceful. Communical kitchen, lovely verandah. Inexpensive price for real comfort and beautiful aesthetics. The weekend host was wonderful. Helped us with bags and helped us locate a vegan restaurant. Would always come back here.

Hermoso lugar! muy comoda la habitación y la cama! Muy bien la relación precio calidad, lo unico que no esta bueno es el baño! en mi estadia siempre estuvo mojado y/o húmedo, muy chico e incomodo! Ojala mejoren eso! lo demás, bien! La ubicación bastante buena, se puede caminar hacia los lugares de interes por la ciudad sin problema!

Wir waren drei Nächte im House Sao Bento in Lissabon und hatten leider ein Zimmer, in dem es nur ein Fenster zu einem dunklen Schacht gab. Das Zimmer war zudem kleiner als erwartet, sodass wir uns eingeengt und gefangen fühlten, so ganz ohne Tageslicht. Das Team war sehr nett und die Sauberkeit war auch gut, aber wir würden leider trotzdem nicht wiederkommen aufgrund des Zimmers.

Very nice and tastefull place. Hype, stylish, cool are words that fit very well to the house.
As soon as we arrived we felt like home and we knew our holidays were going to be a blast :-)
A big thanks to Pedro and Tiago who were perfect hosts and all ears to all our questions. They also advised us great places to go out, to visit and to eat.

Un véritable havre de paix///
Un séjour de 4 jours mais juste inoubliable!!! Un accueil des plus que chaleureux, une equipe absolument adorable et à votre soin. House Sao Bento est magnifiquement décoré, l'ambiance idéale pour s' y détendre autant à l'intérieur que sur la logia/terrasse à l'arrière .TROP DE CHARME!

Ein sehr gemütliches Haus, gute Verbindung zum Zentrum und alten Vierteln mit der historischen gelben Tram. Die Umgebung ist sicher. Keine Einkaufsmeile in der Nähe. Man soll fit sein, um dort einen langen Spaziergang zu machen, weil die Gegend auf einem Hügel liegt. Und nach einem Regen wird bald glatt: Strassen sind meistens steingepflastert. Also, richtige Schuhe wählen!
Es ist ein Hostel, meistens wohnen junge Leute dort. Es gibt gut ausgestattete Küchen. Bäder und Toiletten sind sauber. Preisleistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.
Man kann in den näheliegen Cafes gut frühstücken. Restaurants gibt's auch, nicht direkt daneben, aber zu Fuss leicht erreichabr. ich empfehle Sr. Vinho, die Küche ist sehr gut, und man kann auch eine Fado Veranstaltung besuchen. Den Abend, als wir dort Fadosängern und -Sängerinnen zugehört haben, werden wir niemals vergessen.
Ich empfehle den Jardim de Estrela, ein Paar Haltestellen vom Hostel entfernt, als ein Ort, um sich zu entspannen. Gegenüber befindet sich eine schöne Basilika.

Se trata de un "hostel"para mochileros. Las habitaciones son individuales con baño compartido, aunque las hay con baño privado. Los baños estaban recién reformados, hay varios por lo que no hay que preocuparse por estar ocupado. Las zonas comunes están bastante limpias y ordenadas, com menaje para cocinar, desayunar, lavar la ropa, etc.
Dispones de dos pequeñas terrazas con sillas para relajarte. En las habitaciones hay wifi (algo lento a horas de máxima conexión) televisión y unas toallas para la ducha (llévate unas chanclas).
En contra, podría decir que la insonorización de las habitaciones no es la mejor que existe, pero generalmente no es ruidoso. Tiene una parada del tren 28 justo en la esquina. Y en la calle hay bastante aparcamiento ( zona verde de pago, 3.1€ cada 4h máx, con horario de 9 a 19h).

AVOID! We booked for five nights but only stayed for one because the place wasn’t up to scratch. The bathroom was flooded and dirty, it wasn’t possible to shower unless you held the shower head in your hand, the plughole was blocked with clumps of hair, and there was light from street lighting streaming through the window all night, plus lots of traffic noise from outside and noisy other guests inside. The place was also cold and the Internet was slow and unreliable. We tried to find someone to speak to about our complaints but there was nobody around so we left to find somewhere else to stay. We emailed to say where we’d left the key and to request a refund for our unused nights, and now the owner of the guesthouse won’t stop harassing us (phone, text, emails with photos and videos attached of the guesthouse having been made up for next guests). He called and shouted at me down the phone while I was with a client, and even though I told him I couldn’t talk, he wouldn’t stop talking and asking when I was return to the guesthouse so he could show me how wrong I was. If you want to feel safe and relaxed in Lisbon, don’t choose this place for your stay. Genuinely shocking standards and behaviour.

Für den Preis super. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet und im allgemeinen war alles sehr sauber. Das Zimmer war etwas hellhörig und die Nachbarn sehr mitteilungsbedürftig, sonst hätte es 5 Sterne gegeben.

No queda claro que no es un hotel. Es una casa de huéspedes y los desayunos son malos. No renuevan la fruta, ni comprueban si los productos comunes están caducados.

Chilled and comfy. Stayed as couple - nice lounges and well-outfitted kitchen (also free coffee, biscuits, tea). Excellent service.

El mismo día en el que me tenía que alojar, tuve un problema de transporte y llamé para anular la Habitación reiteradas veces, en ningún caso me cogieron el teléfono. Cuando conseguí hablar con el hotel a las 12:00 A.M. me dijeron que ya habían cobrado y que lo sentían, pero que en compensación podría utilizar la habitación al día siguiente. Cuando solvente el problema de transporte me presente en el hotel (día siguiente de la reserva) y me indicaron que el hotel estaba lleno y que no habría ninguna compensación.Entiendo que actuaron de mala fe. La apariencia del Hotel era discreta y lo que pude ver (pasillos y recepción) no especialmente limpio. No recomiendo este alojamiento en ningún caso.

Fue una muy buena eleccion para nuestras vacaciones. Recomendable 100% . No esta en pleno centro pero puedes llegar paseando en 10 min. Las habitaciones con una decoracion muy cuidada, limpias y acojeadoras. Los baños, aunque son compartidos, estan siempre limpios y como hay muchos casi nunca tuvimos que esperar. Por ultimo destacar el buen recibimiento y atención por parte del personal. Super majos!! Sin duda repetiremos!!

El Guesthouse estaba súper limpio y cuidado.
Bonita decoración. Camas muy confortables. La cocina tenía todo tipo de utensilios y hasta café y aceite para cocinar. Nevera grande a disposición de los huéspedes.
El personal muy simpático nos trató muy bien. Nos dio muy buenas indicaciones para facilitarnos el Check-in.
El wifi funcionaba perfectamente.
El único pero fue que la calefacción era de radiador portátil eléctrico y tardaba un rato en calentar la habitación, pero una vez calentando se estaba a gusto.
La ubicación es perfecta. Barrio tranquilo y elegante con una parada del mítico tranvía 28 prácticamente delante de la puerta del guesthouse.

Really nice staff, the suite was very nice and big. We could leave are bags and pick them up later on. Not noisy and close to the center. Really a recommendation!

If you dont mind sharing bathrooms, its a simple, well-kept place. The place is clean and it is in a convenient location. Id stay here again in a heart beat.

Clean, friendly staff and fair facilities. They just need to improve the experience with the showers and fix some of the drains. Blocked drains are not acceptable in a shared bathroom.
