At the last minute, I was in real need of some alone time away from everything. I had tried a few places, that could be affordable in Lisbon, which is getting more difficult, as high season is now exploding. I called Metro-Alameda, as I could still see a double room with private bathroom available, but at that same moment another guest beat me to the punch. There were other double rooms available, with a shared bathroom (two rooms sharing one bathroom), which I was not to willing to accept. However, speaking to Mr. Gomes, the host, I could feel such a great welcoming, answering all my questions in detail about the available rooms, that he actually convinced me that I would not regret spending the night at the property. And guess what? I just loved it! This is a very family like property, like in the old days when Lisbon was filled with "pensões", very very modest guest houses, except that Metro-Alameda is absolutely far from being old, run-down or tasteless. Metro-Alameda is simple with great design details; it may not offer breakfast, but it has all the kitchen appliances you may need to have your own meals; also, it offers at times, as a house courtesy, coffee capsules and a variety of teas and infusions, for the coffee-maker and kettle in the common kitchen. This is really far from those modest, sometimes sad, pensões! As soon as you get in, not only are you greeted by the host in the most courteous manner, a lesson that some 4 star hotels could learn, you also smell how clean it is. So service and cleanliness are covered! Location is fantastic. This is one of the best quarters in Lisbon; a very safe and up-scale neighbourhood indeed, not to mention that you have all the transportation means you may need, including the underground, that will take you, in 15 minutes, directly to down town (city centre) or to the eastern side of the city, with modern buildings, where you may take long walks by the river. You have supermarkets, delicious "pastelarias" (patisseries), "esplanadas" (street cafés), ATMs. There is not much you do not have in this area. And this particular street is quite iconic for any Lisboner; which leads me to say this is one of the best value for money accommodations in Lisbon. The rooms have a wardrobe, a small desk and chair, a nightstand (or two), LCD Cable TV and last but not least the beds are so unbelievably comfortable that you would actually think you are in a 4 star hotel. Summing up, impeccable service, excellent cleanliness (got to love the perfectly clean sheets and fresh towels), perfect location, truly comfortable beds, affordable rates! I still prefer to have my own private bathroom, but the shared bathroom as absolutely clean. To repeat!

Porque é um lugar acolhedor, o Sr. José é um amor de pessoa, facilidade até ao local do metro, restaurante e lojas no arredor da residência parabéns.

Gosto da localização da residência e do ambiente familiar, como do pessoal responsável . Mas chamo a atenção que em termos de preço por pessoa devem ser estáveis,pois em caso contrário alguns clientes podem procurar outros espaços.Agradeço toda a atenção.

I can only say THANK YOU. This place is unreal. I had an issue with my previous booking 2 days before my trip and Jose saved me. I just had to do a phone call and he got me a room straight away. He is such an amazing host. Always so attentive, helpful and friendly. Place was spotless, quiet, and I slept very well all 3 nights. I didnt use the kitchen (by option) but it is well equipped with everything you need. Location is super handy, I was just 2 minutes from Metro Alameda (pink and green line), there are nice shops everywhere, restaurants, and a lovely coffee shop. I highly recommend this accommodation and I will come back with my husband soon.

Für den Preis top. Waren angenehm überrascht. Sehr freundliches Personal. Zimmer einfach aber für 1 Nacht vollkommen ausreichend. Mit Küche. 2 Bäder extra. Beim nächsten Stop in Lissabon kommen wir wieder.

Ficamos duas noites no hostel, tivemos uma boa experiência e o senhor que estava a cargo foi muito simpático conosco e sempre muito educado. A localização também é ótima. Fica a 20 minutos de metrô!

Schönes kleines Hotel. Man nimmt es von außen fast gar nicht wahr. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und sauber. Wir hatten ein eigenes Badezimmer. Es war auch sehr sauber und schön gestaltet. Das Personal ist super freundlich und nett. Die U-Bahn und ein Supermarkt findet man direkt um die Ecke.

This place is amazing! The room was very clean, the shared kitchen is really nice, clean and organized. The location is perfect, near the airport and close to a metro station.

Limpieza, confort y amabilidad.

It's really clean and they clean your rooms every day. Nice manager and staff. There are a washing machine and dryer machine that you may use. Great location, 3 minutes of walking to Alameda metro station. There are plenty of places to eat as well within 10 minutes of walk.

Amei quero voltar, quartos lindos, tudo bem limpo, a cozinha toda equipada, fica perto do metro, então dá pra ver Lisboa toda. (ps. O metro é facíl de se acostumar depois de um dia usando)
