This really lovely restaurant reopened Thursday last week and what a place it is, a real hidden gem. The food was excellent, the service and the atmosphere was first class. Very friendly and inviting. Would recomoment to anyone for fine dining.

We regard ourselves as regulars now and we simply delight in our visits. Attention to detail in service and the imagination shown in the food, let alone the preparation is exemplary. Sandra and Steve make you feel both welcome and valued. Five stars - beyond anything else locally.

Superb food in a lovely setting with the relaxed feeling that you are dining in someone's house rather than a restaurant. An absolute gem.

This is a Restaurant we went to a few yrs ago before it closed, I’m happy to find out it reopened last year, We had a wonderful meal in a stunning dining room, with very pleasant staff, it’s quite a drive from Quinta Do Lago but well worth it believe me.

WOW - yet another amazing meal - thank you so much! I don’t normally bother reviewing..... BUT: Yet again we could not fault a thing. Utterly delicious, beautiful service and gorgeous decor. Love all the little touches (especially the delicious mints in the ladies!). The Birds Nest is definitely my favourite restaurant for romance/a treat/fine dining with friends in the evening. They are family friendly for Sunday lunch (best roast you will find - promise!) and have an outside area. I try to visit as much as I can. Did I mention the soufflé?! Don’t get me started... wow...

Went for Sunday lunch. We had a great meal. Very good service in beautiful surroundings. Would happily go back. Evening menu also looks very interesting. Don't take my word for it - just go..

This review is of the Sunday lunch menu. We had previously visited the restaurant several tears ago and were keen to go back now it has reopened. The restaurant itself has changed little and is still lovely inside. The food was tasty but the lamb seemed to be pre-cut (not from a leg of lamb as thd menu suggests) and the beef I assumd was the same as we were able to specify how well cooked it should be.. it wasnt obvious with the beef though. The service was ok.. a nothing special. All in all a pleasant lunch and we wouldnt not go again but it wont be top of the list which is a shame. All that said I think the prices were very fair and as I ssid the food was tasty.

So. I must say this place is a jewel of local gastronomy. Staff is fully orienting, cuisine is more than great and reccomondation from waitress side to wine choosing was absolute correct! I can strongly recommend this house ro visit!!!
