Sympa sans valoir un grand détour

I've been to this cafe twice. The first time I was pleasantly surprised, the coffee and food were good, atmosphere was chill. Upon my second return, we were informed that they didn't have what we were after so we decided to go somewhere else. On our way out, we overheard the waitress saying to other staff how stupid we were that we didn't order anything and walked out. I don't think such behaviour should be tolerated. I definitely wouldn't return to this place.

Great place to be if you are working remotly, good internet. Really authentic historical architeture. Good coffee and beer.

포르투갈을 소개하는 가이드북에 자주 이름이 오르는 카페 중 하나입니다. 리스본대성당 쎄Se 방향으로 가다가 오른쪽 옆 길로 내려가다 보면 길 오른쪽으로 카페가 있습니다. 책이 진열되어 있고 각국의 매거진도 볼 수 있도록 갖춰 두었습니다. 스텝들은 과하지도 부족하지도 않은 기본 서비스 마인드였습니다. 연어샐러드, 시리얼(뮤슬리)과 요거트, 화이트 샹그리아를 주문했습니다. 일단 양이 많았습니다. 연어가 좀 짰는데 빵과 야채를 곁들여도 입 안에 짠 맛이 남았습니다(평소 좀 싱겁게 먹는 타입이긴 합니다). 야채는 상추를 제외하고는 싱싱했습니다. 상추 상태는 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 요거트는 단 맛 없는 플레인이라 건강한 맛 그 자체였습니다. 샹그리아는 개인적으로 과일이 풍성히 들어가 자연스런 단 맛이 나는 것을 좋아하는데 여기는 알코올이 맛이 강했습니다. 자리가 없으면 손님들끼리 서로 합석도 하는 듯 분위기는 좋았습니다. 브런치도 가능합니다.

Great cafe. Wide selection for celiacs as they have gf bread. It’s a bit pricey at €2.50 to substitute but it was a great sandwich. The shared tapas was a no-go as a celiac as the regular bread was spread around the dish. Husband said their hummus was over the top with lime juice but kept eating it... my gf bread was delicious (see pic with white baguette)

Stopped here after reading recommendations via Gluten Free Guide. Was totally impressed. Gluten free bread was a bit pricey for an add on at €2.50, but enabled me, as a celiac, to enjoy a sandwich. Cafe was eclectic and funky, also cozy and facilitated some group dining. Read all the other reviews while waiting for the server, it is slow but so is the rest of Portugal and Spain. Quick note: don’t expect to engage in the shared tapas as a celiac. We tried and the bread is just plates everywhere with the dishes. Best to order your own gf sandwich. You can see mine pictured (white gf baguette)

Café littéraire très sympa. Des tables, des canapés, pour s’y poser, boire un café, une bière, et discuter ou simplement lire un livre ou sur une tablette.
L’occasion de se (re)poser et de prendre le temps.

Great atmosphere. Nice open space but cozy. Most of the staff was very friendly. I was there mostly for a good coffee and that's what I found. The food was good too.

The palce has a nice vibe but also the price/portion ratio is a bit higher than what I thought is justified (like the 'lunch deal' consisting of half-normal-portions of soup and main).
The WiFi kept cutting out which was a shame as I went there to do some work - maybe that's also why I'm feeling picky about the prices.

An amazing place. It was super cosy and the staff was really cool. The food was just awesome! Anyway don't arrive too late because some dishes can be out of stock (they prepare everything there).

Overrated place with slow service (we were ignored for a while until we could order). Not a nice vibe and the food isn't very good.

I was shocked at how awful the food was! The place has raving reviews and I was willing to pay the quite expensive price. But we were served cheap processed cheese and lousy ham as their version of a cheese platter and mix of cold meat. The bread was some stale Portuguese version of wonder bread.
My husband ordered lunch for 11€, which should get you a more than decent meal anywhere in Portugal. Instead he ended up with a pile of mashed pumpkin and maybe 100g of cheap meat spread on - another - pile of bones.
Service was terribly slow, the place was dirty and just a nightmare!

food was good, service or probably only the kitchen was very slow and then one woman was screaming in the kitchen (it is open to the guests) that was absolutely unprofessionell! felt very uncomfortable, not going again!

Couches, lots of books, and large shared tables give this place a cozy feel that is unique in Alfama. Top cafe in the neighbourhood if you want to sit and do laptop work for a few hours.

great little cafe I expected to find in Lisbon! Lisbon has surprised me with an old world European style cafes. But Pois strikes a balance with a new world cafe feel, kind of a indie hipster vibe. With a ragtag of chairs and tables you will probably find yourself setting with strangers at the large tables unless you come with a group.
The small kitchen in the back reminds you this is a small cafe. The food is good and comes out quick.

During the day you’d never know this quiet cafe was the noisiest neighbor, every morning at 8am we’ve woken up to blasting percussion music as the staff gets ready to open—at 10am! Absolutely no sense that the neighborhood may be asleep, let alone Alfama is otherwise lovely and quiet. They won’t get my business.

This Cafe has a lot of books to read, but I don't understand the recomondations in the touristic guides. U neither get typical cake nor cofe (no galato at the menue). There is no view and for children less place to move. And there is no place to change dipers...
Still the Service was very kind coffee snd cake "okay" so three Stars

Found Pois Cafe while walking around Alfama for lunch. Their menu is small and has a nice variety of salads, sandwiches.
I decided to go for their light lunch 10eur - amazing tomato soup (freshly made, great flavour, this one will make me come back) then a tuna chickpeas salad (simple but with the olive oil they had it hit the spot) it also includes a drink and coffee.
The place is cozy and has different arrange furniture if you want to work or just read a book in old arm chairs. Lighting and music are very calm..so relaxing atmosphere.
I will come back to try the cakes as I read mix comments. Lunch is nothing special but tasty and fresh option.

Came here a few times during my week in Lisbon when I needed to relax/chill. The food’s really simple and good. The music is on point. There are multiple couches and armchairs. If you’re looking for a chill spot to relax for coffee (vs. the thousands of pastry coffee shops in Lisbon), come here!

Ambiente muito interessante, cuidadosamente bagunçado. Mas não voltaria, pois os preços são muito acima do esperado, e a funcionária de mesa só falava um português muito básico, o que atrapalhou o serviço. O local parecia abandonado a funionários mal treinados e inexperientes.

케익이 너무 맛있어요. 생크림이 같이 나오는데 약간 커스타드크림 맛이에요. 아메리카노 따뜻한거 같이 시켰는데 도피오잔 크기에 나오고 매우 진합니다. 케익 꼭 드세요!! 제가 먹은건 코코넛이 들어간 케익이었어요.

So the place is extremely cute and located in Alfama. However, the food was okay - I wasn't wowed by anything here. I had the salmon sandwich, and it was just okay. Service though, was really good - people are extremely nice and friendly.

Serveurs géniaux et font l'effort de parler Français ou anglais. L'ambiance et décoration chaleureuses ! Menu simple pour déjeuner à petit prix avec des sandwichs, toasts et tapas. On recommande, loin des attrapes touristes.
Petit bémol pour les petites mouches qui sont présentes à cause des caisses de bouteilles vides d'huile d'olive en dessous des tables à côté du bar.

Sitio super giro, serve brunchs saborosos, muito bem localizado, os preços não são os melhores do mundo, mas também não nos leva a falência. As refeiçoes são simpáticas com opções saudáveis. Tem ovos, sumos, tostas, humus, abacate etc etc. É uma opima opção de almoço ao fim de semana, após um passeio pela baixa e pela zona do castelo.

Ένα ατμοσφαιρικό καφέ και οχι μόνο στο κέντρο της περιοχής amalfia. Ωραιος διάκοσμος μεγάλα ξύλινα τραπέζια μοναστηριακου τύπου. Εξαιρετικός καφές. Μπορείς να απόλαυσης ορισμένα πιάτα με συνοδεία κρασιού η μπύρας. Πολύ καλές τιμές.

Nettes Lokal mit interessantem Ambiente. Viele junge Gäste. Kleine Karte. Hatte Tapoas, die sehr gut waren. Wenn gut besucht, dauert der Service etwas. Störte aber nicht weiter, da Getränk schnell da war und es viel zu sehen gibt. Preise passen.

Adorable, and really yummy food! We stopped by here for lunch and got a salad (Chèvre salad) and a sandwich. Both were delicious! This cafe has great vibes and is a casual place to hang out for lunch or an afternoon coffee.

Well I've been here 1 year ago. I think we payed too much money for such a regular food. I mean it is okay and healthy but honestly? There are so much ways to prepare something tastier and still healthy.
The place is okay. Drinks are on point.

Fantastische Gelegenheit für ein Frühstück im Alfama-Viertel in Lissabon. Leckere und vielseitige Frühstücksangebote, super Kaffee, nette Bedienung und eine coole, im positiven Sinne eigenartige Location. Am besonderen Charme merkt man, wieviel Liebe und Herzblut in den Laden gesteckt wird. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Originell im Retrodesign eingerichtetes Café. Wir waren zum Frühstück dort. Mein Toast mit Lachs war wirklich gut und der Granola mit Früchten + Joghurt meiner Begleitung war auch sehr gut! Toiletten waren klein, aber sauber. Der Kellner war zum Teil alleine, deswegen dauerte es zum Anfang und zum Ende ein bisschen. Die Getränke und Speisen kamen aber schnell.

Coole Location in Lissabon, mir hat das Ambiente mit den Büchern und alten Möbeln gut gefallen. Essen schmeckt hervorragend, es gibt eine große Auswahl. Ich kann dieses Lokal zum Frühstück also absolut empfehlen.

Posto strano cn un odore molto strano...non ci riandrei ...sul sito dicono ke hanno pasti senza glutine, ma non hanno nient'altro che il pane che comunque sconsiglio vivamente...Anke la vetrina dei dolci è da evitare,la maggior parte dei dolci aveva avuto almeno 4giorni brutti incrostati e secchi...Ci siamo fatti tanta strada a piedi per nulla...

Il locale è molto gradevole, simpatico e ben arredato. Vale la pena andarci ma solo per un caffè o una birra e non per pranzo/cena. Abbiamo preso il mix di tapas e non siamo riusciti a mangiare quasi nulla, tutto freddo e non buono. Servizio approssimativo.

Ausgefallener Ort für Frühstück.
Es liegt nett im Stadtteil Alfama.
Bedienung war sehr nett. Es gibt sogar jemand aus Deutschland vor Ort (ich vermute mal die Besitzerin oder ähnliches).
Preise sind fair, aber auch nicht günstig. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Service was pretty slow and inattentive. When paying, they tried to overcharge me and afterwards said it was a mistake on the menu.... Very believable. Coffee was pretty good tho.

Un restaurant plutôt pas mal en terme de restauration. Par contre le service est loin d'être au rdv. N'y allez pas au heures de pointe car les serveurs sont débordés et loin d'être agréable!!!

Très bon, servis copieusement ! Un prix en adéquation avec sa clientèle, légèrement trop élevé. Vous éviterez les fâcheuses surprises des restos où on se fiche facilement des clients.

Great café next to the cathedral (Lisbon Sé). We took the juice of the day after a long walk under the summer heat. The atmosphere is chilled with various sitting arrangements (sofa, chairs). Friendly staff as well.

Le Pois café est un café-snack cosy, chaleureux et accueillant. Prenez la peine de passer outre le rideau de l'entrée dévoilant une magnifique perle de la restauration. Dans une ambiance décontractée, lumière tamisée, fauteils moelleux et déco artistique sont au rendez-vous et raviront un large public ! Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant ! Tapas avec un très bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande vivement.

The Pois, Cafè is only around the corner from our apartment. On the way home we thought we’d drop in for a wine.
We immediately felt quite comfortable with the ambience. It has a really nice bohemian feel about the place. With books and some working on their laptops, as the nice sounding music echos the cafe.
We had a red wine. Then after seeing the food that others had ordered, we decided to have the Chick Pea soup. It was very delicious, very comforting.
We mellowed for a couple of hours or so, enjoying the music, our two wines and the Chick Pea soup.
They serve very generous servings!
The service was absolutely great! A very nice experience indeed was had.

Un lloc car, ple de turistes, sense cap encant. Vol ser un espai modern amb grans taules per compartir i conèixer gent, però el servei i el producte, almenys el que vam prendre nosaltres, deixa molt que desitjar. Vam haver de demanar-li a la cambrera dos o tres cops els cafès amb llet, el croissant i el pa amb Nutella. La parella que va seure a la nostra taula (arribats 15 minuts després), va tenir temps de demanar, esmorzar i pagar, mentre nosaltres esperàvem i la cambrera ens mirava de cua d'ull i feia cara d'ofesa quan li recordàvem què li havíem demanat. Hi ha centenars de llocs millors a Lisboa.

Charming place with a good food selection. The mixed juice of the day was excellent. Took a daily brunch for sharing and it was tasty and reasonably prices (around 13 euros).

The waitstaff was super friendly and spoke English. The cafe itself was cozy, artistic, and had a great music selection. They had lots of tea options and the all the food is made in-house. A beautiful cafe that I'll definitely be coming back to.

Mostly for the incredibly gorgeous charming interiors. It's retained the ceilings of the old structure, eclectic seating... I highly recommend this spot for breakfast or lunch when visiting the Lisbon Cathedral

Yo solamente estuve tomando café, pero puedes picotear algo a cualquier hora.
Lo único que no me gustó fue la temperatura, que tenían la puerta abierta con una cortina y hacía más bien frío.

Lugar espectacular para desayunar o comer algo, tanto la comida como el trato y sobretodo el propio local rescatan por si solos, además de ser un sitio con mucho encanto, hay desde libros a juegos de mesa y en la carta puedes encontrar especialidades healty muy interesantes. Es un sitio de esos que recuerdas cuando termina el viaje o que te gustaría tener en tu ciudad! Muy recomendable!

We had a delicious breakfast at the cafe. The egg muffins and their Açai bowl as well as their super yummy Limon Tarte were just great!
We can't say much about the drinks because we just had tea.

They don’t speak Portuguese? Lol, it’s the only thing I can say. Tried to speak in Portuguese and they had no idea what we were saying. Food? Overpriced and overrated, not worth it. So many good places is Lisbon, just go somewhere else.
P.S: how is it possible to ruin an avocado? I don’t know, but they did.

Visited for breakfast in october , had vegan avocado toast and Greek yoghurt with walnuts and honey. At this time of year the cafe was quiet, chilled and relaxed. Staff friendly and no hurry

The atmosphere is nice and cozy, with big tables for different groups to share.
The coffee was disappointing for my partner, and while the menu was extensive I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I would even say the menu is too large, which is sometimes a bad sign.
It's not necessarily a bad place but based on other reviews I had higher expectations.

Menu was overwhelming and was trying to do too many things. Coffee tasted like it was from a packet, super sweet, basically a glass of milky water.
Orange juice with ice tasted watered down.
The “roast vegetable salad” with toast, was actually a toasted sandwich with some lettuce on the side. ( not mad, because the roast vegetable toasted sandwich was actually the only thing I liked ) the building was nice, but overall the experience was very average.

Cosy Austrian café in Alfama. We had lunch here which was perfect. The café is located next to the Se Cathedral but still has a very nice atmosphere. It’s a popular café but we managed to get a table next to the street. I had the Chèvre salad and it was very tasty. The staff was friendly and the price reasonable.

This cafe is in a very touristic area, close to the Cathedral and as a result it's always busy. If you get there, it's possible not to find a place to sit. Anyway, it's a very nice cafe, with vintage decoration and different spots to sit. We just had a coffee, without ordering food.

While they are open until 11:00, their kitchen for meals closes at 5:30 p.m. We walked .5 km to eat here, arrived at 5:40 p.m., were given menus and then aplogetically told they couldn't serve us a meal as the kitchen had closed at 5:30 p.m. A little disappointing. We left to find another dinner place.

We visited Pois Café twice during our stay in Lisbon and enjoyed it very much! We ate the toast and quiche and were pleasantly surprised by the original flavour combinations. Some dishes on the menu change every day and also the home made ice tea was different the second time around. The owner is very friendly and accomodating! The restaurant itself is very cosy. A perfecte place to eat lunch on a hot summer's day!

Croissant bom, mas do tamanho dos croissants de buffet de hotel (muito pequeno) por 2€, queijo e manteiga pagos à parte (cobram 0,80€ por um pacotinho de manteiga...surreal). Café/expresso normalíssimo a 1,20 (pago menos em cafés de especialidade) e nem servem um copo de água, só garrafas. Claramente, transformou-se numa armadilha para turistas. A casa-de-banho estava suja. Uma pena...

The service is slow and a bit rude, which I don't really mind, but the salad I was served was an insult, not fresh and ridiculously overpriced for what it was supposed to be. We stopped by here after Alfama for a latte and washroom break before heading off to Baixa.
The interior of the cafe is a large open space with couches, high tables, and tables for you to choose - perfect for lounging/brunch crowds. There are books that lined the sides of the cafe. The latte is quite a large size (16oz) for EUR2.70. A little high on the cost but it is creamy, foamy and quite nice.
We noticed fellow patron's meals are large in portions.
Service is decent. The staff were attentive and made sure we were helped.
Overall, not a bad place to be if you want a drink, chill, or have brunch.

We were there a little before opening (5min), it was raining so we waited outside. Even 10 min after official opening time they still let us and two other customers stand in the rain. No greeting, no friendly remarks. I don‘t expect service before opening hours, but they were working in the kitchen, it would not have hurt them to let their potential customers get out of the rain!

Nous avons découvert ce petit coin de paradis, car nous recherchions un endroit ou prendre un petit déjeuné, et c'était le bon endroit, nous y sommes retourné 2 autres fois dans la semaine, mais cette fois si le soir et ca a été le même régale !! TRÈS copieux à un prix TRÈS raisonnable.
Lorsque vous rentrez dans le pièce vous êtes emportés par le côté très convivial et chill !! des canapés, des tables, des livres... Excellent !!

环境很好，休闲好去处，有沙发可以坐，有书可以看，我只发现了德语葡萄牙语西班牙语的书，走累了进去坐坐很能缓解疲劳。我要了一个当天的octopus,味道很好很嫩，一点没有焦了发苦的感觉，配的mayonnaise味道也很浓厚，沙拉是rucola芝麻菜，有的人如果不喜欢这个味道让他不要放，喝的要的一杯拿铁，一杯当天鲜榨果汁，拿铁味道也不错，奶沫很多，鲜榨果汁强力推荐，我就没喝过这么好喝的，具体当天是什么得看馆子里当天什么新鲜，我那天喝的是草莓，橙子和芒果混的，完美的融合了三种水果的味道，酸甜度掌握的恰到好处，而且不是用糖调出来的味道，一看就是精心研究过三种水果比例搭配的，真心强烈推荐。最后说说价格，我最后结账的时候账单上只有章鱼和拿铁的钱，果汁账单上虽然也有 但是没算钱，价格那里写着葡萄牙语看不懂，我估计应该是算在章鱼里面了，难道章鱼这个算套餐？反正加在一起才十几，很便宜了，可惜照片让我弄丢了，不然发两张了。

Great food and coffee as well as friendly service in the Alfama area of Lisbon behind the Sé de Lisboa (Lisbon Cathedral). Great place for breakfast/brunch. They also have a nice tapas selection. I came here almost everyday for two weeks and they never disaappointed. I will most certainly be back the next time I am in Lisbon.

A skandi-led food offering in the Alfama district. The vibe is welcoming / cool and a wide range of healthy menu options are available. The decor is comfortable with mismatched chairs and tables, some large enough to seat groups of ten.
Service is fast and attentive, though we visited in late January so the busy season may be different.
A nice selection of cold and hot drinks with the focus heavily on breakfast and brunch choices. Well worth a visit

Cozy café/restaurant not too big, but big in their quality. I had the brunch of the day which is a fully equipped meal. It tasted great, especially the meatballs. It is a cute cafe with friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It is crowded in the weekends but during the weekdays, it is good for working. There are power outlets and wifi. I worked there very often and had the change to meet fellow digital nomads or local people who enjoy to work in coffee shops. Plus they have delicious cakes!

We ate the brunch of the day. Very good portion, great food. The atmosphere is laid-back, relaxed, very pleased after the noisy streets of Lisbon!

Popular cafe in alfama. Not easy to get a seat though. Cozy place to enjoy a cup of coffee and go on ur exploration in Alfama. U can also bring a laptop to work here.

Great place! The food was really tasty and the staff were really nice. My friend who doesn’t eat meat but by mistake ordered a carbonara got a free vegetarian pie!!

This is such a nice cafe! We had some really good wine here, but they also have a large food selection. Very cosy, good wifi. The staff was nice, but could be quicker.

Comi o café da manhã com frutas, suco e bebida quente. Pedi uma porção extra de torradas. Boa comida, bom atendimento. O preço é um pouco mais elevado, mas as porções foram generosas e serviam duas pessoas com pouca fome.

I had brunch in this place twice. Got the "brunch vital" and I was very pleased. It comes with enough fruits and fruit juice to boost your health ;-) they have a nice collection of tea too (teabags though). You can stay there enjoy your brunch, coffee or afternoon snack while surfing the web. Nice spot to spend some time for sure.

la primera vez me cobraron de mas y reclame.La segunda vez,no habia lo que yo queria de la carta y ademas, estaba una chica con los pies descalzos sobre el mismo sofa en el que había estado sentado yo la vez anterior. una cosa es ambiente bohemio y otra es guarrería...

The place itself is gorgeous with its single big room. In addition to the tables you can find sofas on which you can share some snacks and drinks.
Everything in the brunch was great. If you are looking for a healthy food, this place is perfect

Tolles Lokal mit lebendiger Atmosphäre und Sehr gutem Frühstück - reichlich und gute Qualität. Der Bagel "Klimt" hat es mir besonders angetan. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Un seul conseil! y aller....le concept proposé est super tout va la cuisine, l'endroit, le personnel! Si j'ai l'occasion de revenir à lisbonne se sera une escale gustative incontournable.

Everything was perfect! The caffé latte with oat milk was awesomely good! Not enough typical Portuguese desserts though, but what I had was really good!
