Strandrestaurant wie auf Sylt - nur besser ! Durch Zufall haben wir dieses gehobene Strandrestaurant in den Dünen von Alvor vorgefunden. Wir reservierten tagsüber für den gleichen Abend einen Tisch und die Kellner und der Chef gaben sich hier schon große Mühe um unseren Wunsch nach einem Fensterplatz nachzukommen. Gleichzeitig präsentierten Sie uns stolz die Auswahl an frischen Fischen und Meeresfrüchten in der Kühltheke. Die Begrüßung am Abend war gleichwohl sehr freundlich. als Apero ein eisgekühltes Bierchen vom Fass. Zur Vorspeise frisches geröstetes Knoblauch-Brot und Gamba’s a la Piri-piri. Appetitlich und in halb geöffneter Schale serviert. Als Hauptgericht eine Dorade für 2 Personen am Tisch filetiert und mit Gemüse und Kartoffel angerichtet. Dazu eine gut gekühlte Flasche Weißwein Alvarinho.
Zum Nachtisch Mandelkuchen mit Vanilleeis und Espressi. Natürlich fehlte der Tawny Port als Abschluss und Dank des Wirtes nicht. Eine Traumhafte Kulisse und tolle portugiesische Gastgeber runden diesen schönen Abend am Atlantik von Alvor an der Algarve ab.

Alles ging nogal gehaast: snel zitten, snel de kaart en snel bestellen, wat we niet deden.....Opdringerig en onplezierig ; we vroegen om karaf wijn huiswijn en men kwam met een fles in ijskoeler aan. Wij zeiden een karaf besteld te hebben, maar kwam zeer kortaf het antwoord. ” dat hebben we niet” . Had men ook wel kunnen melden bij de bestelling. Geen tijd om even in de wijnkaart te kijken, en de menukaart hadden we amper open kunnen doen en men kwam al de bestelling opnemen. De spaghetti vongole was heel goed , niet goedkoop en de salade met kip heel gewoontjes.

Direkt am Strand, Reservierung auch in der Vorsaison ist empfehlenswert. Exzellente Fischgerichte, unbedingt nach dem Tagesgericht fragen. Hatten eine Fischplatte für 22 Euro mit verschiedenen Filets und Krustentieren. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Um belo sitio para jantar, e ver o por do sol, embora para um português de carteira €€€€ médio, seja um bocado caro. O preço do kg do robalo a 60.00€, sendo que comemos um robalinho de 750g que custou 45.00€. Preço de lagosta, mas estava excelente. Como digo, pena é o preço de tudo ser caro para a nossa carteira.

Um belo restaurante na beira da praia com o melhor peixinho. No final de um dia de praia, dividimos com amigos uma cataplana de tamboril e um arroz de marisco. Ambos divinais. As brusquetas de entrada estavam deliciosas. Com o vinho branco da casa, foi um jantar perfeito com a lua cheia de plano de fundo. Para voltar, sem dúvida nenhuma.

Restaurante a EVITAR. Sítio fantástico, atendimento bom o problema é que enganam os clientes com o preço do peixe praticando o dobro do preço por quilo. Cobrar 90€ o quilo de cherne sem publicarem os preços isto demonstra uma falta de respeito pelos clientes... um vulgar restaurante de praia a praticar preços de 5 estrelas. Oportunistas

Extremely friendly staff and delicious dishes if you love seafood and fish. We ate here every day for a week because everything was so great we didn’t want to risk getting disappointed elsewhere. :)

Wo fange ich an. Bei einem Stern muss ich etwas ausführlicher werden.
Vor einem Jahr haben wir noch 5 Sterne gegeben.
Die Bedienung war erstklassig, freundlich und umsichtig. Das Ambiente für ein Strandlokal angemessen.
Das Lokal war schon letztes Jahr hochpreisig. Im Verhältnis zu den Speisen und dem Geschmack preislich an der oberen Grenze.
Der Geschmack der Speisen jetzt war durchschnittlich, gemessen an unseren eigenen Kochkünsten. Das ist aber wie fast alles eine Frage des Geschmacks. Allerdings sollte ein Standard eingehalten werden. Hier leider nicht.
Der Hauptgang für fast 25 Euro pro Person, war ein Seniorenteller.
Er bestand aus ein bisschen Fisch, 4 Miesmuscheln, 6 kl. Muscheln. 2 Crevetten, aufgefüllt mit Unmengen an Zwiebeln und Suppe.
Ich vergaß, 2 kleine Stückchen Kartoffeln pro Person. Also keine ganze Kartoffel.
So ein wenig kam ich mir ver...... vor.
Absolute Abzocke.
Die Menge war das Geld nicht Wert.
Ich bin selten hungrig aus einem Lokal gegangen. Hier sind wir mit 4 Personen hungrig gegangen.
Es machte keinen Spaß.
Wir hätten schon stutzig werden sollen, als die Bedienung fragen musste, ob genug Fisch da wäre.
Es war zu wenig da! Aber genug Zwiebeln.
"Grottenschlecht" Das absolute Eigentor.
Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder.

Located on the beach this restaurant serves delicious and fresh sea food. The service was great, spoke English and were helpful with what to order. Portions are generous and price is okay to what you get - a lot of food.

Heerlijke verse Dorade gegeten gisteren. Vergezeld door verse salade en vers aardappelgarnituur. Lekker glas witte wijn maakte het compleet. Espresso na en de brunch was geslaagd. Kosten voor 2 personen 55 euro. Gewicht vis 800 gram. Al met al een geslaagde en betaalbare verse maaltijd.

Mijn dochter heeft dit restaurant gevonden....aan het strand waar ze van de zon aan het genieten waren op onze 1e dag hier in Alvor. Het was redelijk gevuld...iets meer dan half vol. Moeder en dochter hebben samen een sea bass genuttigd die uit een aquarium gevist werd. Gek veel verser kan volgens mij niet. Ik heb een peper steak genomen. Medium en die was super. Er zat aardappel gratin bij. Lekker. En dat glas bier dus. Tja...dit is geen bierland.
Dochter had commentaar op de service: matige communicatie. Ik had er zelf geen klagen over. Misschien moet ze eens wat sneller beslissen .
Wat mij opviel: veel Portugezen aan tafel. Dat zegt genoeg. Verder is het dorp grotendeels overgenomen door Engelse eigenaren. Bevroren voer dus. Helaas ervaring mee.
Jammer dat het al donker was anders heb je hier ook nog een fantastisch uitzicht.

A nicely located restaurant by the beach with fantastic views for the sunset. I was not impressed with the food, although I only had the couvert & an octopus salad which I thought it was bought in (may be I’m wrong) but it was nothing special & rather standard. Would not return. I’m only giving 2 stars because of the sunset view really.

My husband and I just had lunch at this restaurant and it was awful.The female staff were rude and brusque,
the blonde one constantly messing with her hair, very off putting when she is serving food.The only fish on offer was Cod,dry and tasteless and cardboard chicken.
We have a home here and used to eat there regularly,never again.
For coffee we went to Restinga Rio,totally different experience,lovely staff,nothing any troubls

En bordure de mer, le cadre est super sympa, avec un parking à proximité. Accès avec une passerelle en planche le long de la plage.On mange très bien, petits tapas avec pain grillés, beurré et aillé, à l'apéro.
Carte variée, les fruits de mer et le poisson sont à l'honneur.On s'est régalés avec la bacalhau et les supions, pour un prix très raisonnable.
Le personnel est particulièrement sympathique.

The location of the restaurant is spectacular. However, food and service weren’t great. I mean if the prices and location are ’on top’ it is normal to expect to eat the best food and get a nice service. I ate prawns, it was very chewy.

Sehr nettes Personal, super schönen Sonnenuntergang kann man dort genießen, das Personal macht sogar alle Markisen weg. Das Essen ist etwas gehoben aber doch erschwinglich, die Portionen sehr großzügig, der Fisch wird vorher gezeigt und man kann ihn sich aussuchen. Ach was vielleicht ganz interessant noch wäre, die Leute die dort essen sind nicht abgehoben

Há 9 anos que janto uma vez por ano neste local. Camarões é sempre o prato. Sou um cliente recente...os mais experientes da família jantam aqui há mais de 30 anos.
Hoje o esperado prato ficou aquém da expectativa. O molho estava claramente pouco intenso e os restantes ingredientes estavam simplesmente razoáveis. De resto, a magia do espaço mantém-se, à exceção de um recente funcionário (mas mais experiente) que denotou pouca simpatia mas muita arrogância. Melhores anos virão seguramente, para ambas as partes, isto se a relação se mantiver!

Let me just say, this is the first meal/dinner that I haven't been able to fault in the last 15 years!!
My wife & myself had a simple onion, tomato & oregano salad, garlic bread followed by the sea food pasta (mussels, clams, prawns).
Meal, location, staff, even the house dry white was more than acceptable .
The team all came across as happy to be there & it seems as though they are looked after and appreciated by management.
All in all perfect!

Carta diferente con platos interesantes (pasta con pescados de la zona).

During my latest holiday in Alvor I visited Restinga 3 times , this was quite out of character . Usually I do not chose the same place to eat , no matter how good it was . Well , Restinga has changed this tradition . What was so special about it ? Restaurant is set in the pictures location , in dunes , just off the wide sandy beach , when sitting on the terrace , the view of the turquoise ocean is stunning . Food is delicious , fresh , cooked with care and love up to perfection , only locally sourced ingredients are used and the quality of fish and seafood are outstanding . But the most precious of all, are people ! People who run the place , there are amazing ! They all work as a team complementing and helping one another , they are friendly , polite , knowledgeable, professional , funny , not overwhelming . They speak quite a few languages , they make you to feel relaxed , cared for and very special .

Really excellent food. The fish is still breathing when you order it. It's not cheap, but if your looking for really well cooked food then it's worth splashing out. It's right on the beach, literally. You can be in your swimming trunks and get beer and proper, freshly made , think potato chips and ask for the piri piri sauce, but be prepared for the heat.

Aproveite este restaurante num fim de tarde solarengo e aprecie um bom repasto ao pôr do sol... Aconselho o peixe fresco grelhado e a canja de peixe que lembram as da avó, mas com o requintado peixe fresco. A sangria branca também estava boa. Nesta altura os preços são sempre elevados mas desconvidam. A simpatia dos empregados foi uma nota muito positiva. Para terminar, a tarte de figo com amêndoas coroou o jantar. Aconselho a visita e recomendo a todos os que queiram apreciar um bom jantar em todos os sentidos!

I had been trying to get a table here for a drink and maybe even lunch for a couple of days but it was always busy. Finally managed to get a table today early evening. Service was not good from the start, I had to ask for a drinks menu and then eventually someone took my order. Getting the bill at the end was not quick either. As the place was always so busy my expectations were higher but sadly it did not live up to them at all. Not great seeing some sort of dead animal being removed from underneath the boardwalk by the staff using a hand held net right next to this place either!

Muito caro! Cobra claramente a localização privilegiada e o preço é sobretudo desajustado do nível de serviço que é algo caótico apesar do número mais que suficiente de empregados.
A aparente discriminação negativa pelo cliente português é demasiado flagrante para ignorar.
A qualidade da comida não deixa a desejar mas não impressiona.

Achei bom, mas o preço muito elevado para o que comemos. Comemos uns camarões a guilho, que eram congelados( dito pelo staff) que custou quase 20€. O que mais gostamos foi da canja de peixe que mesmo sendo meia dose achamos caro. Possivelmente não voltaremos.

Possivelmente dos melhores bares/restaurantes de praia que conheci. Tudo excelente desde a sangria aos petiscos passando pelas batatas doce fritas divinais. Todos os pratos provados ficaram aprovados, presunto de qualidade, ameijoas, pão torrado com manteiga de alho, polvo etc etc. Staff super simpático. Quem estiver pela zona não esquecer de passar por aqui.

Lovely view out to the beach. Food was on the expensive side but for prime views to be expected.
The facilities were kept very clean which is a credit given they were being used by both the people at the restaurant and people at the beach.

Called in here today to have a sandwich on the way to the beach. Myself and my partner ordered a portion of French fries with our sandwich and they were cold. The sandwich was very dry and the lady serving us was obviously not in good mood as she spoke very little and not even a smile. Maybe we arrived at a bad time because she was fussing over customer's who were there to spend lots more than us. Gave 2 stars because of the beach view

Comida cara e de baixa qualidade. Se querem praticar preços tão altos deviam apresentar boa qualidade de serviço. Aproveitam-se de estarem junto a praia para explorar os clientes. Uma algarviada. A salada sabia a picante, o ananás deixou-nos indispostos, os peitinhos a 13€ minúsculos... Batatas fritas rijas e queimadas.

Val la pena. El lloc és molt maco, amb un paratge sense cap construcció a prop, a tocar de la sorra, el menjar està molt bo, i la relacio qualitat preu es correcte. No és barato, però no et deixes la cartera. Molt recomanable!

Der Ort für die "Blaue Stunde" am westlichen Ende des Strand von Alvor.
Das Restinga liegt in den Dünen und nur wenige Meter vom herrlichen Strand. Eine tolle Aussicht auf das Meer, eine gute Speisekarte und ein akzeptabler Wein ( Hauswein für € 3 ) heben das Lokal hervor . Ein besonderer Genuss ist es hier die Blaue Stunde zu verbringen und bei einem schönen Glas Wein oder Bier die Aussicht zu genießen.

Gorgeous location, right on the beach. The staff were so friendly and were very helpful with explaining each dish. The seafood was delicious, we came back a second time and all the staff remembered us. A definite must.

I have been coming to this restaurant for 25 years. It is always a delight, nice atmosphere, good drinks (stiff gins are always great) and the food is always great. Highly recommended!

We called in here after taking a walk along the nearby Alvor Boardwalk (very pleasant, highly recommended). If you want sea food this place seems to have everything you might possibly want. We decided on the snacks menu and had some club sarnies and cheese toasties both with fries. The food was served quickly, the staff were attentive and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Being on he edge of the beach it's very handy for anyone there to grab a quick drink, as well as being a full blown restaurant. There's a lovely terrace with parasols covering it and an indoor section for the main restaurant.

This is one of our favorite places on Algarve. All food is good (from simple sandwich to fresh fish). Stuff is very friendly and they will treat you the same if you go just for a sandwich during (rush) lunch time or if you have a complete meal.

So, we showed up with little notice from the staff but no reservation, not realizing that that was the norm. When we finally grabbed the attention of a staff member, we were treated to a wonderful evening. Although it was touristy and the prices reflected that, the food was great, the atmosphere was welcoming and very enjoyable. The staff was all hands on deck with the service and we never went long without someone checking in. We received an offer of free drinks and a free dessert and all but licked the plate. Really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back!

Had to wait 50 minutes for meal , got drink's quickly but no bread or olive's to keep us going . meal was a sea food risotto , more like soup with rice and sad to boot , staff friendly enough. Price take plenty of money with you. Had to give it one star because you can't give none unfortunately . TripAdvisor rating on wall 4.5 out of 5 back hander in my book. Give it a miss . I could cook better at home . My experience in Alvor is to stick to non fancy looking restaurants , far better food and better for value.
