AVOID everything has hidden charges ....
I waited 30mins after my partners food than the bill came , bread butter olives and ever the extra bread they gave me while I was waiting had a charge .I got the feeling all along the staff were doing there best the the owner just wanted to ride everyone .

Excellent local specialities on the Chef's Choice menu. Monkfish with prawns and rice and tuna Algarve style both really good. Well worth a visit.

Am Anfang werden Oliven und Brot und Dips gebracht. Zuerst machte es einen guten Eindruck aber als dann die Rechnung kam wo alles berechnet wurde was uns zuvor ohne Aufforderung gebracht wurde, beschwerten wir uns was als erstes auf Verwunderung traf nach einer langen Diskussionen wurde uns das Geld in 10,20,50 Cent erstatt.
ALSO AUFJEDEFALL NICHT SO WIEDER.

Wir waren nicht zufrieden. Das Essen waren leider keine Gerichte, sondern nur einzelne Speisen, die zusammen auf den Teller gelegt werden.
Das gegrillte Steak war okay, aber nicht medium wie bestellt. Es fehlte Salz. Auf dem Teller schwamm das Öl. Dazu gab es Pommes und Reis(!). Keine Salsa oder Zwiebeln oder ähnliches.
Dazu hatte ich extra Salat bestellt. Bei diesem waren alle Inhalte separat gelegt (Salat, Tomate, Gurke, Zwiebeln) ohne Dressing. Dazu wurde Essig und Öl gereicht. Eine angemachte Soße mit Kräutern und Gewürzen: Fehlanzeige.
Alles sehr lieblos. Einzelteile zusammen auf den Teller legen kann ich auch zu Hause.
Das Personal war bei uns übrigens freundlich.

Parecia um óptimo local para comer.. depois de quase uns 40 minutos o que devia ser frango acompanhado com ananás veio dois bifes e UMA rodela pouco maior que uma lente de óculos... veio também uma rodela de limão, outra de laranja e outra de pepino (??) Prato sem sentido..
o frango tinha um cheiro e sabor muito forte e intragável.. batatas fritas e legumes congelados.. a parte do sangue do atum que não se serve, no prato também... e 40 euros deitados no lixo para duas pessoas que nem na comida conseguiram tocar.. o pão da entrada estava seco e duro.. muito possivelmente foi aquecido...

‘Tropical salad’ was genuinely inedible, and the hamburger with egg (no bun, strangely) wasn’t much better. Service was very slow, despite being empty and both of our dishes being really basic.

Staff came across stressed and agetated, therefore the service was horrible. We ordered a bottle of red housewine which was served COLD! The food was good but also quite expensive.

Creiamos que se comia bien en Portugal, espero que este restaurante no sea de los mejores de la zona. Tras esperar 90 minutos a ser servidos, y ver como la pareja española se levantó de la mesa sin que despues de solicitar la carta de postres por 2 veces no se se la trajeran, cenamos un pez espada jasco y seco, 25 € de almejas, un atun fresco pero frio y un bacalao a braz, lo mejor de la noche.
Tras pagar 3 € por pedir mantequilla para el pan incomible que nos dieron, nos marchamos sin pena ni gloria.
Mejor no mencionar el estado del WC. Eso si un buen detalle que la carta estuviera en español y algunos camareros lo hablaran tambien

Os atendentes nada cordiais. Nao aceitamos a entrada que eles nos empurram, ate pq gostariamos de comer um prato bom, e nao se encher de pão no início, o garçom ja olhou de atravessado. Fizemos o pedido e nao deu 10 min os pratos chegaram, achamos estranho, dito efeito, pedi um peixe e esta cru, comida horrível. Existia fila para janta, por isso ficamos esperando, achavamos que seria bom, mas foi decepcionante. Nao recomendo!!

Fomos mal recebidos neste restaurante claramente por sermos portugueses. O atendimento é de fraca qualidade. Pedi para aquecer comida do bebé e inicialmente foi me recusado com a desculpa da cozinha "estar um caos". Reclamei e protestei e no fim lá aqueceram. Águas e iced-tea de fraca qualidade. A cataplana de peixe é boa. Preços altos no geral!

Awful food. We ordered costeletas de porco and soup with shrimps. Worst costeletas ever: small portion, not tasty, very dry french potatos. The soup was like a water remained after boiling shrimps with tomato paste and flour. Only three small pieces of shrimps. It cost quite expensive for such food. From positive moments - good and fast service. No complaints to waiters, just food.

Pretty disappointing. This was the only place which had available outdoor seating so we took a risk. When the food arrived I knew it was going to make me feel sick and it did. The pasta was saturated in cream and so heavy the fork picked up huge clumps. Avoid

Poor service from man with slicked back hair, the young girl was nice.
Sat down waited for a good while before drinks were taken, ordered a coke and a rose.
Coke was clearly watered down and the rose tasted and looked like they had taken white wine and put red colouring in. All in all spent £10 on those two and decided to go elsewhere. Which was a shame because the food looked good.

Restaurant ligger annonymt på "hovedgaden" fra havnen. Der var få gæster og indretningen var i stil med en østrisk- inspireret restaurant.
Masser af træværk og billeder af sportsudøvere.
Maden var super lækker og rigtig gode vine til.
Tjeneren var oplysende omkring meny og vi følte os godt tilpas. Der kom 3 hold gæster mens vi nød vores middag. En rolig og hyggelig middag.
Kun 4 stjerner da vi skulle betale regningen via en tablet.( Vi måtte tage et billede af regningen, da vi skulle dele regningen). Det er normalt at se regningen på papir.
Det var ikke nødvendigt at bestille bord.

Avoid Avoid Avoid.. Food was ok. The service on the other hand was diabolical the staff couldn't get me out of the restaurant fast enough. I arrived 10.30pm to be greeted by a very rude waiter who was storming around outside clapping his hands making me feel very uncomfortable. It got to the point were I even asked if they were closing now or something. I wouldn't recommend this place for a relaxed meal on your holidays with your partner.

Lovely place. 8/10. Monkfish and prawns looks & taste very good. Pepper stake is unique - Meat could be better. Sauce was nice.
There was no salad for side but can be easy ordered. Portions was very large. Fresh and tasty orange juice 10/10.

Eten was redelijk. Bediening is amateuristisch. Een ober wist zelfs niet aan welke kant hij de vork en het mes moest leggen. Daarnaast waren ze gefrustreerd en niet vrolijk! Het was komisch om te zien. Een cursus hoe bedien ik mijn klanten is te adviseren. Mijn advies, loop door en ga eten bij een van de vele andere restaurants in Lagos.

Had a meal here ordered, mixed fish for 2 grilled prawns and chicken with pineapple.
Waited for some considerable time and then most of the food came with the exception of the grilled prawns.waited a considerable time for our drinks.
When we asked about the grilled fish we were told that it would include tuna, no tuna and some of the white fish was not cooked properly. Some of the chicken not quite done.Told the waiter.
Prawns eventually arrived, once everyone else had finished their meal, they were not fresh and the intestinal tracks not cleaned out. For a 500g serving there where 5 prawns?
Told the staff that they were not good and not clean, was told they don't clean them.
They took some money off the bill, but when my wife and I said it was not good they threatened to call the police.
Food quality was poor! Stay away! Owner was rude and animated .....other staff were fine.
And to top it off was I'll overnight!

Fomos bem recebidos num dia com muito movimento. Fomos servidos com alguma rapidez mas a comida não estava nada de especial. Pedimos uns bifes de atum que estavam um pouco enjoativos pois talvez estivessem muito oleosos.
Jantamos na esplanada e por isso não vi o interior do restaurante.
Pagamos cerca de 20 euros por pessoa o que é caro para a qualidade da comida.

Muy buen trato con camareros simpáticos y agradables que entienden el castellano y te aconsejan en los mejores productos. Nosotros cenamos sobre las 8:30 de la tarde y al poco tiempo había gente esperando para poder cenar. Comimos unas almejas con aceite y ajo (a la marinera española porque la marinera portuguesa es con tomate) y unos pescados variados buenísimos y frescos. Buen precio y buena calidad.

À éviter ! Nous avons attendu 1h30 avant d’être servis !!!!! En plus à la réception de la note, le prix nous paraissait élevé... En demandant un justificatif, on nous avait rajouté des frais pour des extras que nous n’avions pas commandé. Résultat, 50€ de différence ! On a failli se faire arnaquer de 50€ ! Nous déconseillons fortement !

Różne opinie tu czytałam. Nie mam pojęcia skąd te negatywne. Moje odczucia są pozytywne. Cena adekwatna do jakości. Jak chcesz coś dobrego i w dużej ilości to musi kosztować. Jedzenie pyszne a obsługa bardzo miła. Pozdrawiam Toma Cruisa z tej restauracji. Wtajemniczony wie o co chodzi.

Jedzenie bardzo słabe. Mięso z grilla suche, twarde i niedoprawione. Podają przystawki na początku, których się nie zamawiało i potem doliczają do rachunku chyba z 9 euro za chleb, masło, oliwki, ser i pastę z sardynek wszystko słabej jakości masło i pasta z małych plastikowych pojemników. Zdecydowanie nie polecam.

Das Gedeck bestehend aus Brot, Käse und Thunfischcreme in Plastikverpackung kam unbestellt.
Wir bestellten einen 1/4 Liter Weißwein, eine ganze Flasche wurde gebracht.
Dieser hat sehr gut geschmeckt.
Das medium bestellte Rumpsteak kam rar.
Dafür war die Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend und nett.

Big disappointment. I had a grilled cod with cooked veggies - the fish was dried up and very hard, it was even difficult to chew it. Veggies were over cooked and tasteless. House wine is really low quality. Despite the fact that restaurant was almost empty, guests were annoyed with waiting time and complaining to waiters.

Apesar de ser situado numa rua bastante movimentada com grande afluência de turistas o serviço é rápido, não deixa muito a desejar tendo em conta o movimento, claro que podia ser melhor, os preços são como em toda esta região, um pouco inflacionados .

Unfreundliches Personal
Schon zu Beginn, bekommt man das Gedeck vor die Nase geworfen und der Kellner wirkt genervt, da er einen weiteren Stuhl zum Tisch stellen muss. Da wir nur Beilagengerichte und Vorspeisen als Mahlzeiten bestellten, wurden wir kritisch gemustert und die Bestellung wurde in unfreundlichem Ton entgegen genommen. Als der Kellner servierte blieb er länger als angenehm am Tisch stehen und begutachtete unsere Auswahl auf tadelnde Weise. Auch Sonderwünsche bei Pizzen sind nicht möglich, da es sich bei diesen um Fertiggerichte handelt, die schon belegt sind. Bestellt man Käse als Vorspeise, wird einem eine kleine Plastikpackung mit Streichkäse serviert. Als Gemüsebeilage bekommt man gedämpfte Karottenstücke und Brokkoli, welche stark an Tiefkühlgemüse erinnern. Vielleicht wird man hier besser behandelt, wenn man ein volles Fünf-Gänge-Menü bestellt – wir werden dies sicher nicht mehr herausfinden wollen.

Fuimos a cenar mi mujer e hijas, la verdad que parecia un buen y sitio y lo será, no lo dudo, pero el arroz con bacalao y el arroz con pulpo, sabian igual los dos, a CILANTRO y cuando tenias suerte de no llevarte cilantro a la boca, grano sin hacer, crudo.
Cuando ya les dijimos que lo podian retirar, su sopresa fue enorme que no nos gustara, se llevaron las dos cazuelas enteras.
Por no hablar de las coca-colas de grifo y que no había pan.
La carne normal, sin pena ni gloria.
Tambien tuvimos que devolver por error nuestro un plato, no fueron capaces ni de decirnos (que no lo hubiéramos aceptado, entendemos que es su receta y un eerror nuestro en la carne)un cafe cortesía de la casa, nada y el presumible dueño, fumando un cigarro viendo las "quejas" no te creas que fue capaz de decir algo,.
Para mi peor su frialdad que el arroz.
No puedo recomendarlo.

The price is pretty good and the quality is also quiet good. You can eat alot more expensive compared what you get. I can recommend the tuna steak "algarve style". That is something you will only get here!

Ich fand den Service sehr gut. Ich gebe dem Restaurant 3 Sterne, da ich hier die besten Austern meines Lebens gegessen habe. Leider waren zum Hauptgang um 20 Uhr alle Muschel Variationen aus und ich habe den Fisch genommen der für den Preis wirklich nicht gut war. 100 Euro mit Vorspeise, 6 Austern, schlechten Fisch und eine 10 Euro Flasche Wein ist zu teuer.

Total unfreundliches Personal. Das Essen wird dem Gast vor die Nase geworfen. Wir hatten Lachs und Thunfisch, beide waren durchgegrillt. Es war eine sehr trockene Angelegenheit. Beim Essen wird man abgefertigt. Beim abräumen der Teller rutscht dem Kellner das Messer in das volle Weinglas. Natürlich kam kein neues Weinglas! Trinkgeld wurde ohne zu fragen abgezogen. NIE WIEDER!

Probably the best food we ate in Portugal. I got veal stew and it was amazing (huge to begin with), but it was not the size of the portion that blew me away, but taste did. Also presentation was very "authentic" with waiter serving whole dish in a still hot, right from the oven pot. My dad got salad with beets and was very delighted with it. Although we ate vegetable soup every day at different places and we liked it overall, no place had it as tasty as this - Restaurante Os Arcos was really great spot to have food and if this would be one place I would recommend to anyone visiting Lagos or the region to stop for food. For food they deserve more than 5 stars!
Personally I do not understand people who order Pasta and complain about it later - you are in Portugal - order real food that is fresh and local and enjoy it done the right way.

One of the worst meals we've had. I ordered pasta carbonara and my wife ordered pasta with ham and mushrooms. Both were massively overlooked and flooded with the same white sauce. The only difference was the "extras" added to the sauce, i.e. one had ham & mushrooms and the other chunks of bacon. We both ate less than half of the meal. My wife had a 250cl bottle of water, (the same brand as sold by Lidl/Aldi for €0.10), cost €2.00. I ordered a Sprite which did not come in a bottle or can but already in a glass with ice. It tasted more like fizzy water than Sprite. To finish off a bad evening even the waiter gave the impression that to serve us was an inconvenience.

Tasteless overpriced meal, pushy staff, rushed, expensive entradas forced upon us, no receipt printed for meal (total was only briefly shown on an iPad). What's to like about this place? NOTHING. Avoid.

Food was OK ish service was average then when we asked for the bill that took 38 minutes to come so down hill really.. Day light robbery on the bill as well 18 Euros for olive's and bread (which was stail) that's what we asked for... they brought some dry crispy cheese & sardines pata 18 euros absolute joke.. what be going back there it was only a light lunch ended up being 68 euros.. with out a bottle of wine.

Food was mediocre but not bad. Service was kind of rough (1 waiter) but overall nice. This might have been due to being busy. We had to wait a lot for our food and bill etc.

Uma vergonha. Pessoal muito simpático e atencioso mas quando chegou o pedido à mesa qual não é a minha surpresa quando ao meu filho mais novo servem uma pizza congelada de supermercado. No mínimo ridículo
