Great place! Host are nice and we got good wine suggestion with very enjoyable wine. They make time to get you the wine that suits your taste. Additionally there was a guitar player playing that night that gave a good jazzy atmosphere.
Cannot vouch for the food though as we only grabbed a drink there.

Le cadre est également branché. Un chanteur était également présent dans un coin avec sa guitare.

Conheci este local através da aplicação zoomato, e por ter aderido ao zoomato gold decidi ir experimentar.
Decoração simples e que nos faz olhar constantemente por ter as paredes cobertas de expositores com garrafas de vinho. Interessante para quem for apreciador.
Não marquei e não precisei de esperar, local estava pouco frequentado. Atendimento rápido.

Food was good but pricey. Be very careful of the wine by the glass option if they chose it for you - they charged 10€ for a glass of wine which in itself could be acceptable if the wine was exceptional or if they gave you more than two mouthfuls in the glass (we checked afterward- the wine itself cost 12€ for a bottle online) - caveat emptor....
We will certainly not recommend this place to anyone despite good comments from others

This is my second time visiting Grapes and Bites and it didn't dissapoint.
Open Christmas Day
My boyfriend and I asked for a nice fruity red wine and the server advice a delicious bottle. Accompanied by some lovely cheese and bread it was a perfect supper on Christmas Day.
Next time I am in Lisbon I will be back and I will recommend to anyone coming.

Wonder down a dark alley to find this little gem. We found this place which had a great selection of wine and tasty snacks. We had the cheese plate which was great with our wine. We also tried the green wine which was a unique experience. They also had live music!

Good experience mainly - my wife's cod dish was a bit disappointing but could be the fact it wasn't fresh cod ? Couldn't fault my veal steak - everything else was good including the coffee and service very acceptable

The location is great and the staff is wonderful. They also have a great breakfast. The room and bathroom facilities are just okay but the price reflects that. You get what you pay for. Would recommend.

Super food in a nice part of town. I'd recommend the shrimp garlic for starters.
One thing to the chef - reduce the salt a bit. The first bite won't taste as nice, but the tenth will.

We had a great experience during at dinner here. We ordered the following (recommended by our waiter) -
Mains: roasted pork cheeks and veal, it was delicious.
Starter: garlic shrimp and cold tomatoes soup, both paired well with the complimentary bread.
Dessert: Chocolate fondue, perfect end meal.
Our waiter who was very polite and well-knowledge with the menu (he had also very professionally told us that he doesn’t speak english very well but will do his very best to recommend us the dish, which he did a perfect job).
The live music is perfect, quiet enough to have a conversation and lively enough that gave a pleasant vibe in the restaurant. I wish I could give the restaurant more than a 5 star. The whole experience was perfect!

We had such an amazing dinner here. It was pouring with rain and all restaurants were turning us away because they didn't have space so we stumbled here by chance and it was the best by chance happening:) there was the list amazing duet playing live music and the whole restaurant was singing and dancing by the end of the evening. The service was great, so was the food. Highly reccomend the tuna tartare. Delicious wine with a lovely sommelier very excited to chat to you about their wine list.

The tasting menu absolutely not worth it - they clearly swap in less expensive wine or port that purposefully isn't listed; deceitful, actually.
The port was good anyway, so a silver lining, but not for the price.

Great wine bar with an excellent selection. Especially noteworthy is the amount of wines by the glass. You'd be hard pressed to try all of them in a year even. The food is also excellent with a great selection of Portuguese cheeses, but also small local dishes like tuna ceviche and a great polpo.

Ostello molto carino dotato di camere sia con bagno in camera sia in comune, la suite utilizzata è molto carina dotata anche di macchina caffè e balcone privato, la colazione é abbondante sia dolce che salata. Il personale molto gentile.

Lindo, bonito y barato. En el mejor barrio de lisboa, con el mejor precio y ambiente en familia&pareja. Pongo 3 estrellas, la zona es muy ruidosa y las habitaciones dan a la calle. Es muy ruidosa hasta altas horas de la noche 2 am, aveces no permite un correcto descanso. Además no hay un correcto control del staff a los clientes, ya que estos entran a la hora que quieren al hotel haciendo ruido y gritando. Estuve 4 días y vi 2 rotaciones de clientes, no fue casualidad. Además el aire acondicionado de la habitación no funciona.

J'ai séjourné 2 nuits à l'auberge :
>>> les + :
- très bien situé à 2 pas de la place Baixa Chiado
- vieux bâtiment très bien rénové avec parquet massif très beau dans toute l'auberge sauf cuisine et SDB
- il y a une grande cuisine très bien équipée, un coin séjour avec TV et PC à disposition et une jolie petite terrasse
- le dortoir de 10 est très spacieux avec une table et des chaises au centre
- assez propre, la literie est agréable
- le petit déjeuner gargantuesque avec beaucoup de choix dont du pain frais.
>>> les - :
- assez bruyant malgré le double vitrage et volet intérieurs, jusqu'à 2h du matin car situé au dessus d'un restaurant
- les lits supperposés grincent pas mal
- les casiers sont des petit cubes donc pas pratique pour des valises qui la plupart du temps restent sur le sol de la chambre et donc non sécurisés et encombrent l'espace
- la SDB avec double vasque, 2 douches faisant face aux 3 toilettes dont 1 toilette avec la serrure cassée, heureusement il y a une 2eme SDB avec 1 vasque, 1 toilette et 1 douche le tout fermable à clé pour plus d'intimité!

A free glass of wine outside while waiting for a table, wine bottles everywhere you look along the walls, a guy playing the guitar in the corner and some great pulpo on our plate. We have sent friends to go here after we visited the place in 2015 who were not so impressed, but until we are back in town and can check for ourselves we stick to our own verdict then, which is four stars for food and wine quality and ambiance.

Grapes and bites were a bit of a mixed experience for us. The food and wine was really good. We enjoyed a lot of small dishes. The waiter recommended great wines for us that matched perfectly with the different dishes we had. My problem was that while we were warmly welcomed, the staff did not take that great care of us, compared to the rest of Lisbon. Our waiter just disappeared to have a chat somewhere in another room. So when we needed anything we had to go talk to the staff behind the counter. He came back first after we had to go ask for the bill and were about to leave. That's not professional.

The perfect restaurant for a special evening in Lisbon. The atmosphere is amazing, makes you feel like you are in a basement full of wine. The singer with the guitar plays beautiful music, he has such an amazing voice! They offer so many different wines that it almost seems hard to pick one but the lovely sommeliers know exactly how to help you pick the wine that suits your taste. The food is also great, a good variety of small bites and larger dishes.

This restaurant has the best chilled ambiance I've ever seen. It has a wide collection of wine and the Sommelier was active and really asked why we chose the wine we did and was there to advice and make us discover new wines we didn't know of! It was so good we're coming back for the last day before my flight back tomorrow !

3 stars for the hostel - I stayed here for a night. the bed was comfortable but very squeaky and you could unfortunately hear the noise outside which made for a bad sleep. There were no earplugs offered either which is common in noisier hostels. The facilities were small but alright and the hostel was quite cosy. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best I've had in a hostel.
5 stars for the restaurant. I had a meal here with four others and we tried several tapas which were superb. The owner/night manager recommended a nice fruity red which was great at 22 euros. The waitress who served us was very friendly and welcoming. I came back to try the tasting menu with a friend and again had superb food, wine and service, Definitely recommended.

Great variety of wines, you can also have just a glass to taste them. The waiter advised us on the wine to choose with our dishes. Food is good and fresh but quite expensive. There was also live music, a soft type, which we enjoyed a lot. If you want a quiet corner, this is the place to go!

Das Essen war gut und der Liga in der dieses Restaurant spielen möchte angemessen. Das Personal schlichtweg unprofessionell, gleich einer Schulklasse. Schimpfwörter auf portugiesisch, gegenüber Kollegen oder unhöfliche Gesten zu Gästen. Das gesamte Servicekonzept ist eine Lachnummer. Ich empfehle dringend, das Management des Unternehmens auszutauschen, da das Gesamtkonzept grundlegend gut ist.

역에서 올라갈 땐 무지막지한 계단길이 한 십분? 정도 이어져서 죽을 맛입니다 큰 캐리어 가져오실 분들은 안 돼요....전 기내용 캐리어였는데도 힘들었어요ㅠㅠ 근데 리스본 자체가 워낙 경사진 곳에 위치해서 어쩔 수 없는 거 같아요. 위치는 가장 가까운 pingo doce(포르투갈 이마트)랑 시내, 역과 대략 10~15분 거리입니다. 샤워부스 깨끗하고 화장실도 붐비지 않아서 잘 쓸 수 있어서 좋았어요! 욕실엔 손 씻는 공용수건하고 핸드워시랑 바디워시가 부스마다 있어서 개인 수건과 샴푸만 가져오시면 될 듯합니다! 침구류도 깨끗하고 방도 청소상태 좋습니다 ㅎㅎ 따로 작은 짐 같은 걸 넣어서 잠글 수 있는 사물함도 있어요. 스태프들도 모두 친절하고 조식도 괜찮습니다! 다만 이틀 묵었는데 공통으로 빵, 커피, 차, 버터, 누텔라, 스크램블에그랑 햄, 우유, 파운드케이크가 나오고 하루는 과일 네 종류에 치즈 두 종류랑 요거트 두 종까지 있었구 다른 날은 과일 두 종류에 치즈 한 종류, 요거트 없고 치즈도 하나... 이렇게 다르더라구요ㅠㅜ 어쨌든 맛은 있었지만 편차가 좀 있는 거 같아요 그래도 정말 이틀간 잘 묵다 가요! 다음에 온다면 또 묵고 싶은 곳입니다.

I’ve been here with both a large group of friends and alone with my other half. Every time the food has been out of this world and the wine is delicious. There is so much to choose from and the advice from the staff is honest and never misleading. If you don’t come here when you visit Lisbon, you’ve made an errror.

O serviço é fraco e inexperiente o vendedor de vinhos fraco também deixa muito a desejar a garrafa sugerida foi de qualidade bastante fraca com um preço elevado , mais um copo de vinho por 16€ sugerido que nem a garrafa toda valia isso , sopa foi ok o camarão pequeno as tapas sugeridas foram muito fracas o preço da conta muito elevado . Muito melhor e mais barato por perto.

Am letzten Abend unserer Lissabon Reise noch einmal Tapas essen und einen guten Wein genießen war der Plan, so sind wir schließlich auf Grapes&Bites aufmerksam geworden.
Nachdem wir unseren Platz eingenommen hatten stand auch schon ein Appetizer in Form von Oliven, Pesto, einer Thunfischcreme und Brot auf dem Tisch. Auch die bestellte Käseplatte und der dazu passende Wein ließen nicht lang auf sich warten. Auf den ersten Blick schien alles preiswert, der bittere Nachgeschmack erschien dann jedoch auf der Rechnung nachdem wir feststellen mussten, dass für den bereits gedeckten Tisch und den Appetizer stolze 5,50€ verlangt wurden. Auch das Brot für die Käseplatte wurde zusätzlich berechnet. Schlussendlich haben wir insgesamt 7,50€ zusätzlich zahlen müssen ohne das man in der Karte oder vom Service darauf hingewiesen wurde was wir unsererseits für ziemlich frech empfanden. Auch wenn die Speisen geschmacklich zu empfehlen sind, würden wir uns einen zweiten Besuch nochmal gut überlegen.

A very tastefully hostel with kind and attentive staffs. The location is great. Breakfast was varied and specifically enjoyed morning cakes and grapes! There are some discounts on the restaurant below from 14 to 16. I haven’t used this option tho. I stayed 4 nights in the mixed dorm. Make sure you take earplugs. I will definitely recommend.

Walked in here with my girlfriend during the corona times and place was just about empty, but they still had some live music and most other things were closed so we decided to try it anyway. Was greeted by all smiles and happiest staff that tried to make the most out of the bad times affecting the whole city.
They continued the live music just for us and served us some of the best wine I’ve had! The place filled up with more people as they saw us have a great time in there and the place came alive again when the city outside was empty, really nice end to our weekend before going back home.
5/5 for the wine and 5/5 for the staff, their smiles, music and great wine recommendations. Will definitely be back next time!

Staff were nice. I arrived early, but they let me in and kept my luggage for me. The hostel provide luggage storage. Breakfast was provided too. Locker with lock was provided. Lounge area is nice and relaxing. The hostel is close to shops and walking distant to some attractions. 4 minutes walk to metro station. There’s no elevator in the building, but only 2 flys of stairs. Female and males shower and toilet were combined. Toilet paper ran out sometimes as reception is not 24/7. Air con in the room isn’t very cool, was ok during my stay but I would worry about on hotter summer days.

직원분 친절! 열쇠 받았는데도 저는 문 여는 방법 잘 모르겠더라구요 문 여는 것 보여달라고 하는 것도 좋을 듯... 위치도 근처가 다 술집이라 샹그리아 한잔 마시고 들어가기 좋았어요 조금 시끄럽긴 한데 자는데 불편할 정도는 아니었음

Very nice experience, clean, modern, not too crowded (despite we went in August), lovely breakfast served. Some staff members were also polite and smiley, some others seemed to be a bit angry and less customer-oriented. Positive overall rating though!

Super Lage, sauberes Hostel, hübsch eingerichtet, sehr gutes Frühstück für ein Hostel. Allerdings war es sehr laut. Die Zimmer sind sehr hell hörig und das Restaurant mit gut hörbarer Musik ab 16:00 Uhr nachmittags ist direkt darunter. Insgesamt ist alles recht eng gehalten. Wenig Platz. Das ist aber Geschmackssache. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt

The worse hostel that I ever been in my life! People very very impolite and unhelpful, the place is damage everywhere and there no sing of where is it, what took me 20 minutes just to realise where is that place. Very disappointed with this place

Die Lage des Hostels mitten im Ausgeh-Viertel ist prima. Der Preis absolut spitze. Die Räumlichkeiten (Altbau) sind sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und es war angenehm sauber. Besonders nett war noch das Frühstück. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Hostel maravilhoso em Lisboa, perto de tudo, com uma equipe incrível de tão atenciosos e educados. As acomodações são muito boas com banheiros ótimos e camas tão boas quanto, café da manhã super completo e poderia ficar tecendo elogios sobre o local! :) voltarei com certeza!

I initially was hesitant with the name hostel in it, but was pleasantly surprised that it couldn’t be further removed. Great rustic place with a fab selection of wines. We also had some tapas too (octopus was good). Good little spot, will be back

Uno dei locali scelti prima di recarci in Portogallo era questo, recensioni positive e cantina molto vasta. Cia siamo recati a cena senza prenotazione e fortunatamente siamo riusciti a trovare un tavolo disponibile. Io ed il mio ragazzo abbiamo deciso di prendere un tagliere grosso misto di formaggi e salumi, l'onnipresente pane-olive-olio, una bottiglia di vino, 2 dolci e 3 bicchieri diversi di Porto per € 83.0. Rapporto qualità/prezzo buono, un po' caro rispetto alla media del Portogallo, ma c'è da considerare che abbiamo preso una bottiglia di vino da € 32.0 e che abbiamo assaggiato vari tipi di Porto che non è comune trovare ovunque e soprattutto al bicchiere. Personale gentile, preparato nella spiegazione tecnica di ciò che avevamo scelto e rapido. Assolutamente consigliato.

Boa localização, a dois minutos do chiado, cinco minutos a pe da praca do Comercio.
Local acolhedor, quartos bons, cama confortavel, roupa de cama em boas condições de higiene.
Wc limpos, bem adaptados á realidade do hostel, com duas pias, três privados e tres duches.
Dala de estar confortável, dispõe de dois computadores, jogos de cartas, domino e revistas.
Local muito recomendável.

The food was fantastic! Service was absolutely on point and the wine selection was just devine. I would recommend this place to anyone for a lovely evening with a chilled atmosphere but top quality food and there was even a live singer to keep us entertained. Grapes & Bites you have blown us away!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and I'm glad they did. Plenty of plates to choose from and great if you love sharing plates/tapas. The duck was my personal favourite. They have a broad selection of wines and were happy to recommend a couple based on what kind of flavours you prefer. Would definitely eat here again.

Piacevolissima sorpresa a Bairro Alto. Cucina gourmet personale giovanissimo. Abbiamo mangiato un tagliere con una selezione di formaggi portoghesi, come secondi una tagliata di tonno al sesamo su letto di patate dolci e un filetto di anatra all'arancia con riso, il tutto accompagnato da dell'ottimo vino dell'Alentejo. It was pouring rain so we just ran from our apartment into this cozy little wine bar, hoping for food! They gave us a table and the wait staff was wonderful. Ordered a mixed meat and cheese plate to share. The bottle of wine recommended was good. The main dishes were good. There was live music. Nice place to spend an evening.

Piccola vineria in cui è possibile assaggiare anche i prodotti del territorio circostante. Formaggi eccellenti e prosciutto pata negra dell'Alentejo di una dolcezza incredibile. Su consiglio del cameriere disponibile e preparato abbiamo ordinato una bottiglia di rosso Alfrocheiro 2015 ( quinta dos carvalhais) molto buona. Servizio molto attento. Il locale ha un arredamento semplice ma curato con botti riadattate a tavolo o piccoli tavolini.

Muito bem localizado, em pleno Bairro Alto, muito perto do Chiado e do Rossio. Pequeno almoço muito bom, com grande variedade (pão, croissants, fiambre,queijo e manteiga, fruta, ovos e bacon por vezes mas nem sempre, iogurtes,doces de fruta, leite e café). O quarto era o suficiente para um fim de semana. O ar condicionado não funcionava muito bem o que no inverno foi um pouco incomodo. A casa de banho foi limpa 1 vez ao dia mas no final do dia estava bastante suja pelo que deveria ser limpa 2 vezes. Tinha 2 chuveiros sem grande privacidade e 3 banheiros (1 deles estava avariado). No geral foi uma boa visita a Lisboa.

Amazing wine bar in the heart of Lisbon. Comfortable setting down a quiet street. The staff are what make this place (and of course the wine). Un bar à vins dans le quartier nocturne et animé de Lisbonne loin des clichés pour touristes. Une cuisine faite maison un vrai régal à prix doux !
Une super déco et une musique live en fond. Nous y sommes allées 2 fois lors de notre weekend entre fille pour tester toute la carte. Je recommande vivement :)

Nice atmosphere with live music and cost interior. Quite touristy. Prices and price structure for wines per glass (a glass could cost you anything from 1/6 to 1/3 the price of the entire bottle) and some dishes such as the pata negra for EUR 12 (which was minscule and dry) dragged down the overall experience.

Just had a quick snack with wine before dinner. It was cute with a quaint atmosphere; reminded me of Italy. It was quite busy. The menu had a very large selection of wine and port. The goat cheese and the fig and onion compote was delicious.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've had. Our waitress was energetic and worked with a smile. We just had a meat and cheese board but it was out of this world - one of the best I've had. Wine selection is huge so we asked the waitress for her recommendation and we were not disappointed. I'd love to go back here again one day. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation but we went quite early, so would recommend reserving in advance.

We wanted a slightly more elegant place than many in the Barrio Alto and were pleased with our choice. Nice to find a waiter who could recommend good food and especially great wine (in English). There was some live music, but not too loud. Prices not cheap, but not excessive. I would recommend this place to everyone, but it can be crowded so make sure you make reservations!

L auberge de jeunesse est vraiment en cas de dépannage extrême... Dès climatiseur mais on ne peu pas les mettre en route, du wifi mais on n a pas le code... L accueil carrément froid voir pas cool du tout, une machine à laver qui doit être normalement à disposition mais finalement il faut payer 5 euros, et Pronto... Des douches on n en parle pas ... C est degueu. Honnêtement, n hésitez pas à payer qq euros de plus et être traité comme autre chose que du bétail ...

Went around 11pm. Lovely meal of 2 dishes each (more than enough) washed down with a nice glass of house red. Lovely friendly welcome and great atmosphere - highly recommended (especially with the 20% discount as we were staying in their hostel above).

I stayed here for one night. The location, decor, and bedding were great. But what I liked the most were the little touches. It smelled fantastic (I loved the incense in the lobby), and it was quite cozy. Breakfast was also included, fresh, and very appreciated.

Nous avons été extrêmement bien accueilli par Alex : un sommelier averti qui a su dégoter une bouteille de cépage originaire du pays conforme à nos goûts. Nous avons pris le menu découverte à 40 € pour deux : un pur régal !
Petit concert pas trop fort et très agréable. Bref, un vrai moment de plaisir.
Nous recommandons vivement !
