We went on a 5 day Challenge Tour of the Alentejo in mid April with Bike Tours Portugal and it was wonderful. It started with a professional and very responsive booking process to fit our needs. We were picked up at the airport and driven to our first historical town on Evora. Our guide setup our guides, provided us with everything we needed to remain safe during our self guided tour (gps spotter, local cell phone and gps Garmin computer as well as repair kits, and guaranteed he would come to get us anytime). He provided us with daily options for lunch on the road and dinners in town. We were greeted every morning with ready bikes and the recommendations for the day. The hotels were phenomenal! We stayed in 3 towns: Evora, Vila Viçosa and near Crato, at beautiful hotels. We never expected to walk into Marble foyers or into our room at a medieval monastery. Truly an experience. The routes on the road were carefully curated - very quiet (all you could hear were the birds singing, and the occasional cow or lamb) with good asphalt, short busy connectors had a huge shoulder to ride on. Most of the routes were rolling hills and 2 days had proper climbs to castles. The food and the wine were amazing (Alentejo is very rural with many wineries that you see while riding). Our guide even recommended the local specialties if we wished to try. All food was prepared with fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed the spa services at the hotels to recover the tired legs. April was a bit cool for us to enjoy the beautiful outdoor pools though. At the end of the tour our guide dropped us off at our hotel in Lisbon. This was a really excellent tour and we look forward to doing another tour with Bike Tours Portugal.

We did a half day tour of Arrabida, ending with the local dessert and wine tasting. It was amazing! The company is great at communicating to make the reservations. They picked us up near our hotel in Lisbon and organized everything. Ricardo was a fantastic tour guide. Breathtaking views. The ride was exactly the amount of challenge the we wanted, mostly leisurely downhills with some good uphills. We loved the wine tour and tasting afterward. Apparently single-day tours like ours are less available in the fall and spring, but more available during the hot months of July and August. Definitely would recommend!!!

Great staff..they were superb organising our bike tour in Alentejo! The bikes were pinarello full carbon. What an experience!
