The African Lisbon Tour taught me more about the racism, slavery and slave trading in Portugal's history than 30 years of living in Lisbon - it's all the stuff that no one ever talks about here. But somehow, Naky brings this very difficult topic out into the light in a way that doesn't assign blame today and lets everyone on the tour - all colours, all backgrounds, all languages - find a way to hear what really happened - and what the legacy is of that now. I highly recommend the tour and we also really appreciated the chance to have a meal at the end together. Naky is doing amazing work!

Go on this tour!!! Naky is an amazing person who connects History he has painstakingly uncovered to give a real sense of the history of Black Africa in Lisbon. Worth every penny! He should be the one leading huge groups, although I was happy that there were only four of us:)

This tour was the highlight of my trip. Only thing is I wished I booked it earlier in my trip. Naky is amazing and his knowledge of Portugal and the slave trade is amazing. The tour is great lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes and the food at the end at the African Restaurant was one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

What an experience. A big thank you to Naky for ensuring that the history of the slave trade in Portugal is not forgotten. This is an inconvenient truth for many. It takes real bravery to educate on this topic.
