Made sure to make a stop here while I was in Lisbon. The location I went to was around the old quarter of the city, with cobble-stone streets. The location itself was beautiful, with bricks walls and arches. The chocolate, itself, was excellent. The cake was moist and each bite contains three different flavors and textures of chocolate. I had my slice with a cappuccino, that was also perfectly crafted. Wish I had had the ability to bring a slice back to the states with me.

I'm a chocolate lover and I was more than satisfied. I had just the chocolate cake, but it was divine. I was little bit sceptical about so positive reviews, but they are legitimate. If you like chocolate, don't miss this place. It would be a tragedy.

초코케이크는 맛있긴 한데, 극찬할 정도는 아니에요. . (초코 카스테라 & 코코아버터 & 초코가루 3개 층으로 이루어짐)
간혹 생초콜릿같다고 하시는 분들이 있는데 로이스 이런거 생각하심 안되세요. 차가운 케익이 아니고 실온에 둔 초코 케잌이라고 보심되고, 다크초코도 아니에요.
빠리바게트에 파는 초코케익 정도 되는 것 같은데 왜 이렇게 유명한지 모르겠네요;;
아, 'CAFE'라는 메뉴는 아메리카노 아니고 에스프레소입니다.

Un très bon gateau au chocolat mais un accueil lamentable. Vendeuse tatouée portant des lunettes d’une exécrable agressivité quand je viens a lui demander si il y a un wifi.
Ceci n’enlevant rien a un gateau léger et délicieusement gourmand.

My husband and I thought about moving to Lisbon just because of their chocolate cake! My husband doesn’t even like chocolate cake and he still talks about it. As NYTimes calls it “devilishly good chocolate cake”, it is.
We highly recommend this location because of its atmosphere. So serene and charming.

The cake was delicious and cost 3.7euro. It is a layer of cake and a layer of chocolate pudding. You order at the counter. There is no bakery display case. They sell coffee. It is very dark inside and has candles lit. There is no outdoor seating.

Loja mais agradável da Landeau em Lisboa, é um longe café. O café é servido no ponto certo em volume, sabor e temperatura, muito diferente do considerado normal por aqui. A Torta/Bolo de chocolate e leve, com a quantidade certa de açúcar, cremosidade e chocolate é claro.

진짜 진짜 진짜 맛있다 내인생초코케이크이다. 케이크가 너무 많이 달지도 않고 쉽게 질리지도 않으면서 부드럽고 맛있다.
가게분위기도 좋다.주인이신분은 얼핏보면 첫인상이 불친절해 보일수도 있지만 알고보면 친절하신분이다. 물어보는 질문에 세심히 대답해주시고 건성으로 대하시는게 없으신 분이시다.

Searched for the “best chocolate cake” in Lisbon and this is not what I expected. Went all the way to try it but it was just good, nothing exciting or memorable. The quality of chocolate used is excellent but it’s not for me.
If you’re looking for more of a traditional cake, this is not it. This has a thick top layer of velvety mousse with a thin base of cake.

Not only did I enjoy the cake and cappuccino, but the cafe also has a very cozy vibe. While touring through the city, give yourself a nice treat and experience and get this. The photo says enough.

Une adresse à faire absolument pour les amoureux du chocolat, entendu comme le meilleur gâteau au chocolat du monde, je n'irai pas jusqu'à lui conférer ce titre n'ayant pas goûter tous les gâteaux au chocolat du monde mais il n'en demeure pas moins un très bon gâteau au saveur et texture équilibre, agrémenté de son chocolat chaud pour un hiver réconfortant.

How good people are saying it’s chocolate cake is (there’s only one cake offered) completely over-hyped. It’s nice, but it’s not to die for nice. I’ll give it 7/10.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice please with great service. If you’re looking for a cafe to chill, this is a good spot. It’s location is off the main shopping streets, and depending on the direction you’re coming from, it’s a climb uphill to get there.

I went to Landeau after having a bad chocolate cake experience and in need of a good piece of chocolate cake to restore my faith. After asking around at work "where can I find good chocolate cake in Lisbon?" one of my colleagues recommended Landeau chocolate cake.
Landeau's cake definitely restored my faith. But the best was not only the cake, but their hot chocolate (yes, I had them both) it's also to die for.
When you find a note written on the counter saying that "Landeau's cake can not be re-selled", you know you're in for something goooooooood....

Spectacular (milk free) hot chocolate. The cake is more of a mousse au chocolat, sponge bottom. Slightly heavy creamy texture dampens the taste of pure chocolate.

Uno de los mejores sitios para comer tarta de chocolate en Lisboa, situado al lado de la zona de Chiado. Lo mejor es conseguir sentarse en una de las butacas (hay otra zona de una mesa enorme en el centro). Los precios aún son asequibles (3,90 la tarta y 1 el café), pero aún ido subiendo los precios y es cuestión de tiempo que se pongan fuera de alcance. A aprovecharlo mientras se pueda.

Pastels aren't my thing so I researched another option and found "Lisbon's best chocolate cake". It lived up to its name. Incredibly rich, the best texture, and beautiful coffee shop. Coffee was average.

This store has three locations in Lisbon that I know of: chiado, Lx factory and Corte Inglês. They only sell one type of chocolate cake but it is espectacular. It's a mixture of 3 types of textures the blend together perfectly. If you are a chocolate cake lover I would definitely go and try it.

Finally tried its chocolate, which is a truffle chocolate style. The cake is very smooth and creamy in the mouth, with the cocoa taste modest than intense like a chocolate fondente version. It’s a matter of personal taste but it’s a lovely cake nonetheless.

Yes creamy on the top and soft at the bottom. But for me, I’m expecting a stronger flavour of chocolate. Don’t expect something cakey too. The place is quiet and cozy though. Average service. Get your order and pay at the counter, then wait for your food at the sofa.

The chocolate is very moist and it’s a dessert that you rarely found in Lisbon with all the pastries. We enjoyed our time in the cafe. Lemonade is not very good though.

My brother told me about this place and with all the great reviews I had to check it out for myself. Wow. That's a seriously great cake. Go hungry you'll want to finish it. Sadly you can't get it shipped. I wanted one for my birthday cake in Madeira and they said they couldn't send it. I now understand why. Go. It's the only place in the world you can eat this cake!

El lugar es bonito, la música y los productos son buenos sin embargo me pudo más lo molesto del ruido que el personal hace , el golpe de los trastes a la hora de acomodarlos puede romper por completo la paciencia y la concentración que buscas en lugares como éste.
La cocineta es abierta, solo hay un muro de tabla roca que no tiene puerta entonces se escucha cuando avientan la loza y los cubiertos y eso es continuo , ¡qué estrés!

Tarta de chocolate y chocolate "a la taza" buenísimos aunque un poquito caros. 3.70€ y 3€ aunque para un capricho merece la pena. Fuimos al espacio Gourmet pero no me deja ponerlo allí. Las camareras muy eficientes.

I was very disappointed after I visited this place and tried this chocolate cake. To call this place overrated is an understatement. I can say that Im a lover of sweets and pastries but this cake is overhyped and tasted bland. As for the actual restaurant, there is old furniture with sponges sticking out of it. I would recommend that people SKIP this place, you can find a much better place near Rossio square.

La migliore torta al cioccolato della mia vita. Siamo stati verso le 17 e nel locale c'era pace e tranquillità. L'ambiente è decisamente carino e rilassante, c'è un tavolo comune e alcuni tavolini appartati con delle poltroncine ai quali si può stare anche a leggere un libro. La ragazza è molto gentile e c'è il servizio al tavolo. Hanno una buona selezione di thè e di caffè. I prezzi non sono bassi ma ne vale decisamente la pena, (soprattutto considerando che si spende uguale da Starbucks). Ci tornerei mille volte.

When all you serve is chocolate cake it must be good. Landeau does not disappoint. We enjoyed amazing cake twice in less than 24 hours and could have gone for more but alas, we had to leave Lisbon.

Este é o verdadeiro melhor bolo de chocolate do mundo. Tem a textura e a combinação mais apetecível e saborosa. Com várias camadas de chocolate desde a textura quase tipo mousse até ao bolo macio todos os pequenos detalhes deste bolo fazem dele um grande bolo. Parabéns Landeau.

음식에 대해 불평할건 전혀 없었지만 직원분이 살짝 불친절한 분이셨던듯. 장소는 조용하고 분위기 좋은 인테리어지만 전파가 잘 안잡혀 통화나 모바일 데이터가 잘 안됨.

Wer mal dem lauten Alltag der großen Stadt entfliehen möchte, der hat hier die richtige Adresse. Der Service ist super nett und das Ambiente traumhaft. Der Schokoladenkuchen ist ein wahres Gedicht genauso die heiße Schokolade und der Kaffee. Wirklich zu empfehlen.

Very nice and kind service. We enjoyed the thick and rich hot chocolate. I recommend with milk since we ordered this and still tasted very intense. Chocolate cake is great but maybe not while you drink hot chocolate because it could be too much. I saw many people came for the cake and drank water, good choice for hot days.

정말 맛있어요~ 쌉싸름한 생초코릿맛으로 덮혀있고, 안에는 촉촉한 케익이고요.. 표현이 부족하네요. ^^ 우리나라에도 이런 비슷한 걸 파는데가 어디 있겠죠? ㅠㅠ 또 먹고 싶어요~~~

Got there 5 mins before closing time and was told i would not be served because it was about to close. Well, about to close is not closed and I can only imagine the reaction if the very same lady was told that at a public service.

Sehr nette Besitzerin, toller Geschmack bei der Einrichtung, guter Kaffee und das Beste: Kuchen auch zum Mitnehmen in verschiedenen Größen.
