Depois do prolongado confinamento, o primeiro restaurante onde fomos.

Frango ist einfach typisch für Portugal. Ich vertrage leider kein Piri Piri. Obwohl wir kurz vor Küchenschluss kamen, wurde extra für mich ein Hühnchen, welches vorher eingelegt wird, zubereitet. Es schmeckte wunderbar und ich hatte keine Probleme. Was wir besonders an den klassischen Lokalen in Portugal lieben, sind die gehobelten bzw. gestiftelten Pommes Frites. Einfaches, gutes Grundprodukt ist leckeres Essen.

Bestes Frango Piri-Piri überhaupt ! Idalina, Felipa , João und ihr Team zaubern seit Jahren in rustikalem und einheimischen Ambiente Portugals Nationalgericht aus der Küche und Gäste und Gruppen finden höchste Zufriedenheit am Gebirge der Monchique. Das maurisch angehauchte overture der cumin-Karotten oder Serrano-Schinken (Presunto) der schwarzen Schweine aus dem Syenit-Gebirge darf natürlich nicht fehlen ! Einem genüsslichen Spaziergang durch den Kurpark in Caldas steht von der Wirtschaft weg nichts mehr im Wege.

Bei jedem Portugal Besuch ein MUSS! Tolle Atmosphäre und super leckere Hähnchen mit Piri Piri. Vorher äußerst schmackhafter Schinken und mehr. Sehr gut auch die Pommes Frites. Idalina, die Wirtin sehr nett. Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Also known as IDELINA'S. Between Caldas de Monchique and Monchique, on the left with very little signage and a marquee on the south side, but no need for signage, it is always busy as the prices are very low and the quality is high. There were 12 of us arriving after a long and difficult walk around Marmalete at 2.15pm just as the last diners were getting ready to leave. Even so they rearranged the dining room and sat us down for a lovely meal. By the time we left at 4pm the staff were sitting near to us eating barnacles and a casserole lunch. Worth a visit when in the hills.

Frango e salada 5 estrelas , fui com a família e uns amigos Ingleses , todos adoraram , assim como o presunto de Monchique e os doces ,tudo fantástico , além da comida o lugar Caldas de Monchique que é bonito , assim como todo o nosso interior do Algarve , neste dia , entramos por Portimão , almoçamos no Café Império , seguimos para a Nave , voltamos para Marmelete , descemos na direção Corte Cibrão , autodromo Internacional e entramos na N125 na Mesquita, Odiáxere...Um dia Fantástico...Parabéns ao café Imperio.

Essen war ganz okay. Leider schien die Gastgeberin etwas genervt von unseren Kinder gewesen zu sein. Zumindest war sie nicht gerade freundlich. Zu guter letzt wurde uns ein halbes Hähnchen serviert und als ganzes berechnet. Fazit: zum Essen gehen ganz okay, für Kinder allerdings ungeeignet.

This was probably the most authentic local experience I had in the whole country. It's been a family-friendly restaurant for 35 years serving traditional peri-peri. If you want to know what Mediterranean life is really like, this is the place to experience. Not done up for tourists, just how the locals have it. Be sure also to try the local Algarve liquor after the meal - melosa - kind of like a honey version of limoncello.

Familiengeführtes Lokal mit Charme und Historie. Trotzdem, dass wir Vegetarier sind gab es auch für uns sehr leckeres Essen (zu empfehlen das Käseomelet und das Risotto) und eine gute Dessert und Getränke-Auswahl.

Local com história numa casa centenária,situada no alto das caldas, que á mais de 40 anos podemos ser servidos pela D.idalina e seus familiares.
Onde nos é dado saborear um bom presunto e um frango assado na brasa com um sabor tão característico dessa casa, por ser assado ao ritmo da serra de Monchique.

Kleines unscheinbares Restaurant direkt an der Straße. Sehr einfach gehalten. Haben seit 47 Jahren das gleiche und einzige Hauptgericht auf der Karte - Chicken Piri-Piri! Sehr lecker! Auch die Vorspeisen sind sehr lecker - Tomatensalat, frischer Schinken, Ziegenkäse, Sardinenpaste. Ein Besuch lohnt auf jeden Fall! Echt portugiesisch!

Super tasty homemade meal - fresh tasting tomato, green pepper and onion salad, piri chicken and chips and a delightful mango pudding and chocolate cheesecake for dessert! My friend and I were completely satisfied and ate every last bit! Complete bargain as well, €23 including alcohol. Well worth the dark trek down from the Monchique resort.

Meiner Meinung nach eins der besten Restaurants in der Gegend. Haben nur Hähnchen Piripiri, welches unbedingt probiert werden muss. Bei den Vorspeisen gibt es eine kleine Auswahl die aber sehr gut ist. Das Haus-Dessert ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Lasst euch nicht von dem schlichten Aussehen abschrecken, hier kann man GUT und GÜNSTIG essen..

Hier kann man gut Hähnchen essen.
Wäjkeb kann man zwischen Hähnchen mit Piri-Piri oder ohne. Einen großen Tomaten-, Paprika- und Zwiebelsalat gibt es auch.
Man sollte reservieren, ansonsten wird es schwer werden einen Platz zu bekommen.
Wer gerne Portugiesisches Hähnchen mag sollte hier vorbeischauen.

I am a bit puzzled by all the good reviews for this place. They only do chicken and it was nothing special, the French fries were actually bad. But the worst thing is when they brought us a cake for dessert pretending that it was a pudding. Not sure what was the reason to lie to us, but this probably mean a lot about the place.

Imensa Simpatia, máxima qualidade e preço adequado. O melhor frango de churrasco, o melhor presunto e o melhor queijo. Uma salada de grandes fatias de tomate e cebola enfeitada com tiras de pimentão verde que é uma delícia. Recomendo.

Terrible service and not welcoming at all. Piri-piri chiken was ok but the portion is quite small for the price you pay. Local people get a better treatment than tourists. The place is adiacent to the road (prepare to hear a lot of noise coming from the cars).

OMG ... this is the best peri peri chicken I’ve ever had. Believe what they say... this is hands down awesome. The hot sauce is next level and delicious. Even the tomato salad was delicious. It’s a very rustic place next to the roadside so don’t expect any glamour... but the food is exceptional. The local wine is also delicious. The don’t have a card machine so take cash. We paid €50 and didn’t hold back, for a family of 4, this is excellent value!

This is such a nice place for an authentic Portugese meal. The restaurant has been here for over 35 years and in that time the interior and the menu have remained untouched, because why change a winning team?
The menu is simple; you can order chicken from the barbeque with fries. There is some salad, a cheese platter and a ham platter and that's it. It is also everything you need, because the food is super tasty.
For dessert there is a whole fridge full of homemade desserts, they are very nice, if you still have some space in your belly, I would highyl reccommend you to pick a dulce
Don't come here for the cosy atmosphere, enjoy the local experience when it comes to eating out in Portugal.
The restaurant gets crowded around 1, so come early or expect to wait quite some time.
All in all a wonderful place, wish I had a restaurant like this in my hometown

Had to wait 20 minutes absolutely worth it, no need to order as it is basically the tomato and onion salad and chicken plus chips. they have other starters.
Delicious chicken and absolutely worth the wait. For dessert the almond cake and almond pudding, both perfect.
We where 3 and it worked out at 10 Euros a head.

Good service and excellent fried chicken! If you have an accommodation in CALDAS DE MONCHIQUE, although it's not visible on GMaps, just follow the steps near the small river upwards and you can reach the place on foot too, don't hike near the road.

I love this place and we always come here on the way to Monchique. So far it has been the best chicken I had in Algarve. Lovely staff, speak English. chicken is €10 (big portion). Maaaaasive salad €4. Cosy in the winter with the fireplace and seating outside in the summer. Kids friendly but it is right by the main road! Nice walk down the little stream on the side of the restaurant. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Entrada de presunto corto pela Dona Idalina, Excelente Frango, salada de tomate/cebola/pimento às rodelas, em ambiente familiar e acolhedor (sem televisão) o que promove comunicação entre as pessoas á mesa.
E por fim um doce fino com uma melosa de Monchique.

We komen hier voor de vierde keer en nog geen enkele keer teleurgesteld.
De couvert met ham en kaas is geweldig, vooral de ham. De kip piripiri, tomaatjes en frietjes gewoon de beste. Als zelfs de Portugezen hier komen eten, dan weet je het wel.
En dan nog te bedenken aan een belaggelijk lage prijs.

Esplêndido local para se comer um frango com um sabor magnífico, acompanhado com barata frita divinal e uma salada como nunca vi, para entradas um prato de presunto e queijo espetacular, venha comprovar no local este meu testemunho, aconselho telefonar na véspera para almoçar, se for para jantar, ligaram antes do almoço, para terem lugar na esplanada, porque dentro do restaurante para além de ser pequeno é muito quente.
