Offrono una scatoletta di paté di tonno, una di burro, delle olive e qualche rotella di carote sott"olio. Poco impegnativo e banale. I costi medi. Il cataplano (per due) aveva solo due gamberi, qualche volgola e due tranci di baccalà. I piatti di carbe invece sono molto buoni e abbondanti serviti con patatine fritte (altra cosa scontata) e una ciottola di verdure fresche. Il personale è disponibile e gentile il locale è molto bello.

Fuimos a cenar al ser uno de los pocos que estaban abiertos. Personal amable, sitio cómodo para cenar tranquilamente. Pedimos croquetas (lamentables no las pidáis nunca pero tuvieron el detalle de no cobrarlas), bacalao a Bras y solomillo de cerdo (estaban bien!), 2 cervezas y un mousse (más bien batido de chocolate) por 31€, por lo que me parece bastante razonable.

Cervejaria e café mais antigo de Faro, de entre os abertos. Cozinha típica, cerveja boa e a um preço assecível, ali bem perto da doca. Tem esplanada boa, com uma vista priviligeada para o pôr-do-sol. Tem no seu interior fotografias de antes de haver estradas de asfacto, com caráter histórico.

They brought some bread and olives to the table that we didn’t order - but it was not for free! They also tried to charge us some salads that we didn’t order and the steak was supposed to include two sides of choice but there was only fries..
The food was ok for the price as long as you check carefully what you are paying for

Nous avons été attirés par Héléna fort sympathique, nous nous sommes laissés tentés par le restaurant. Malheureusement, nous avons été déçus par la qualité des plats, à l'exception des brochettes veau gambas, un délice. Le reste était mauvais. Mauvaise surprise à la note quand on s'aperçoit que l'on nous comptes 15 euros pour 4 olives, quelques tranches de pain que l'on avait pas commandé, on nous l'a imposé sans nous avertir que c'était payant. A la différence des autres commentaires nous ne recommandons pas ce restaurant.

Attentive and friendly servers and good suggestions about the food. Had clams cooked with garlic and oil with a side of fries per suggestion for dipping. Clams were pretty puny and some with empty shells. Took outdoor seating but the inside looks interesting with old photos of Faro.

Buenísimo lugar, las personas que atienden todas genial desde la señora q te recomienda desde la calle hasta los camareros muy profesionales y amables comida exquisita y excelente relación calidad precio. Considero q es el local con más encanto de Faro conservando lo auténtico q tanto nos gusta de Portugal. Si vienes a Faro, imprescindible pasar x la cervecería Alianca.

Patron Portugais mais ancien prof de français. Super sympa, accueillant et très intéressant. Avons passé un moment très agréable en sa compagnie. Nous a donné de bons conseils pour continuer notre voyage. Avons mangé une très bonne et copieuse cataplana à la morue. Avons même pu ramener le reste avec nous !!! Merci Monsieur pour votre gentillesse et simplicité. Reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Un couple du Pays Basque.

Very, very bad business practice. I went in and asked for a coffee. They brought me the coffee and THEN told me they close in 10 minutes, insisting I pay for it. Of course, had they told me before I ordered, I would not have stayed. Also declined using a card and insisted on cash. Bad business, stay away.

Durante il soggiorno a Faro con la mia famiglia, abbiamo deciso di cenare al cafè alianca , locale storico, fine e raffinato, fondato nell'anno 1908, situato al centro della città ed è vicino al porto di Faro. Personale: attenti su tutto, simpatici e con la massima disponibilità, ci siamo sentiti come a casa nostra. La qualità delle pietanze di altissimo livello. Ottimi antipasti, ottimi primi piatti, ottimi secondi e contorni, ottimo vino e dei dolci eccellenti con dei liquori locali di altissima fattura. Prezzo eccellente. Ci torneremo sicuramente. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Attirée par la note attribuée sur Google ceci était une grosse erreur. Calamars congelés non nettoyés qui croustilles sous les dents. Attrape touristes, qu’ils alpaguent devant le restaurant. Désolée mais je ne suis pas d’accord avec les commentaires précédents. À fuir !!!

Service was lovely, so friendly and gave us some advice on the menu.
Did not regret taking that advice. We had steak on the stone and house sangria. All delicious.
All I would think is they need to get some more side options as you can order 2 but there is only 3 to choose from.
I would pick this over any other steak place locally.

Works well but in the past 90s the owner and the son Sergio were terrible people to the waiters. Also a guy like supervisor named Marques was a monster, and very aggressive for everyone. Was a war space.

Todo un descubrimiento, cerveza Artesanal como nunca probé. Carne a la Piedra con diferentes salsas , plato de Gambas , patatas fritas y ensalada por un precio realmente Bajo.

Si affaccia sulla piazza e quindi si è portati a pensare al tipico posto per turisti. Invece il locale è una sorpresa positiva per i sapori e la qualità dei piatti serviti. Bello anche il locale interno con vecchia porta girevole. Prezzi contenuti e buon rapporto qualità prezzo

das essen war koestlich...
sehr grosses minus: der 'reinschmeisser' sagte uns, die kueche waere bis 16.00uhr offen; als wir kurz nach 15.00uhr hinkamen, gab es nichts mehr...dann am naechsten tag sassen wir auf der wunderschoenen terrasse, als eine volle plastikflasche neben unserem tisch landete; nur wenig mehr, und jemand waere getroffen worden!-es war der 'reinschmeisser', der eine volle wasserflasche nach einer taube warf, und als entschuldigung nur dumm grinste!...fazit; wenn man gepflegt schmausen will, ist die "Alianca" gut dafuer-man darf nur nicht ueberrascht sein, wenn das personal unfreundlich ist!...

Asked if we could use the toilet, the lady (à bit old, around 45 years +, also spoke French) said no we cannot use the restrooms. We asked next-door (Costa Algavia) and the bald dude said sure, go ahead. Thanks. It was a basic human need.

Nous avons vraiment très bien mangé dans ce joli restaurant pour un prix correct ! Merci à Hélena pour son accueil et ses conseils ! Elle parle plusieurs langues dont le français. On y reviendra et on vous le recommande.

Accueil deplorable !
Nous nous sommes fait alpaguer par une serveuse très impolie qui nous a jetés comme des mal propres car nous avons refusés poliment son invitation. C est inadmissible de voir ce genre de personnel dans une si belle enseigne.
Nous déconseillons fortement l établissement.

A beautiful and historical 1907 built brewery/restaurant/café... in my opinion, the best and most meaningful place to enjoy at least a cup of that tasty Portuguese coffee in an unique ambiance - for me, as for any true traveler, I'm sure, an unforgettable experience... one of the most amazing places Faro surprises you with!...

Nur das Gebäude ist schön. Sehr ungemütliche und hektische Atmosphäre, mittelmäßige bis schlechte Bedienung, der Kellner war recht frech und unfreundlich und wie auch andere hier geschrieben haben, ließ er die Kinder rennen und spielen im Speisesaal herum... Es war so laut drin, dass ich von meinem gegenüber sitzenden Freund kein Wort verstehen konnte; wir müssten Platz wechseln aber mit wenig Erfolg.
Das Essen war nicht überdurchschnittlich gut wie andere bewertet haben, höchstens so gut wie woanders auch.
Ich kann überhaupt die positiven Meldungen hier nicht teilen.
Das Lokal an sich ist schön gestaltet; nur Fotos machen und woanders gehen... Sei es denn, man will sich einer stressigen Mittag freiwillig "gönnen"...
Bei uns wurde alles falsch gemacht was nur falsch gehen könnte, die Getränke zuletzt serviert, Speisen auf Rechnung gestellt die wir nicht bestellt hatten, andere Speise doppelt berechnet, blöde und freche Antworten gegeben, Salz und Pfeffer müssten wir selber holen, Öl und Essig mit anderen Tischgäste teilen... Der Kellner machte sich lustig über unser Englisch und meinte, dass aufgrund der Sprachfehler uns richtig als Deutsche getippt hatte...
Bei uns mussten wir auch dem Kellner um sein Eingreifen bitten, da wir mitten wie im Fussball Stadion vorkamen, dabei sagte er uns dass er nix machen konnte, es wäre normal und wir sollten Verständnis haben, dass wir in Portugal wären... (Wir waren inzwischen in mehrere Lokale in der Algarve, aber nie sahen wir so viel Chaos wie hier!!!)
Das kam mir vor, als ob dieser Restaurant nur für Portugiese wäre und Fremde nicht so gewünscht wären...
Die viele laut herum spielende Kinder an sich wären kein Problem, wenn die Väter auch nicht mitgemacht hätten beim herum turnen und brüllen!!!
Das war meine erste und letzte Besuch in diesem Lokal und vermutlich auch in Faro. Ganz schlechte Erfahrung! Ich kann die positiven Nachrichten gar nicht nachvollziehen... Ein guter Tag erwischt?!!

Das sogenannte traditionelle Herzstück Faros versprüht besonders sonntags ein turbulenten Herzschlag durch viele Familien. Dort sind die Eltern auch wie Kinder. Es war zu befürchten das jeden Moment durch turbulente Aktionen Gläser zu Bruch gehen.
Die Kellner sind überfordert und schauen dem Treiben zu. Stattdessen forderte ein Kellner eine behinderte Kundin auf ihr Handy zur Seite zu legen. Vorher hatte eine Kellnerin mit Zöpfen und Mütze diese Kundin, die sich nach einem Platz umschaute und paar Fotos machte, angesprochen und gesagt: " nicht schauen und stehen sondern setzen und bestellen. "
Wäre nicht die junge schlanke Kellnerin dort gewesen, die sich bemühte die Fehltritte ihrer Kollegen gut zu machen, wäre diese Kundin sofort gegangen. Als die Kundin schon Kopfschmerzen bekam vom Lärmpegel, sprach sie den Kellner an, ob er nichts unternehmen könnte. Er sagte er könne nichts unternehmen. Signalisierte der lärmenden Gruppe sie sollten etwas leiser sein. Daraufhin wurde die behinderte Kundin von einem Teilnehmer der Gruppe beschimpft mit den Worten "Go home"
Die Kundin war am Boden zerstört und musste weinen. Nur die junge Kellnerin versuchte sie zu trösten u gab ein Tee aus. Der Teilnehmer der die Kundin beschimpfte hat sich zwar später entschuldigt, als er sie weinend am Tisch sitzen sah mit ärgerlichen Blick. Als die Rechnung kam war diese 5 Euro höher als gerechtfertigt. Es wurde zweimal Brot berechnet u ein Salat,der nicht bestellt wurde. Der Kellner hatte am Anfang auch vergessen die Getränke zu bringen und er machte ein überforderten Eindruck. Ausserdem sehr soft. Andererseits freche Sprüche. Das Essen war gut zum Preis eines guten Restaurants. Allerdings hat der Service und die Atmosphäre dieses nicht bestätigt.
Deshalb meine Empfehlung:
Geht an einem anderen Tag hin. Vielleicht habt ihr dann eine ruhigere Atmosphäre. Oder bringt eure Kinder mit und spielt mit ihnen in diesem Lokal Fussball oder meidet dieses Lokal.
Ich wünsche den Verantwortlichen und Genannten, das sie sich über die Geschehnisse Gedanken machen. Solche Geschehnisse können einem ein Urlaub und Aufenthalt vermiesen und schlechten Eindruck vom Lokal, Stadt u. Land vermitteln.

Beautiful Cervejaria (Bar focused on beer and light meals to go with), old, historical, and very well recovered and maintained, which is highly uncommon in Portugal. The beers are nice, focused on few good national brands, not the endless (pseudo)local/micro breweries tasting all identical as it is trendy now. BUT... the food ... is just awful! A caricature of the portuguese dishes they are based, and as fake as the name translations. I had an açorda, which *must* cook in slow heat for at least half an hour ... it almost came as I order, bread barely cooked inside, more an ensopado than an açorda... and the promised local marisco (sea food) from Ria ... well there where shrimp without flavor (frozen, over boiled?) and mussels?!? what happened to ameijoa, berbigão or lingueirão. Mussels? from Formosa? or from Lidl? ... To avoid if you want a meal!

Fantastic craft beers at reasonable prices in gorgeous surroundings. Recently refurbished to an extremely high standard, this place has a friendly, lively atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommended.

Restaurant super bon. Acceuil tres agréable. Parle plusieurs langues. Un grand merci à Helene pour nous avoir parfaitement bien conseillé. La brandade de morue et la brochette terre et mer sauce bière vraiment excellent. Je conseille vivement si vous passé à Faro.

Esperamos 25 minutos para virem saber o que queríamos e depois do pedido feito esperamos mais 20 minutos e acabamos por nos levantar e ir embora sem ser servidos.

Ok, so from the pictures and when you go inside it looks and feels like a special place to dine!. Not the case, very polite staff at tentative, but the food, well shocking, I had the tradition dish of steak and fried egg and my wife fish cakes, well the fish cakes was like eating fishy potato and the steak well it was so salty it was like it had been dragged over a mountain of salt and the chips well they was so well cooked you couldn't eat half of them as they was like crunching on hard boiled sweets. Looks can be deceiving as they say and this couldn't have been more true, such a shame!!

Apparently this is the first Cafe place in Faro.
The food is good but in a busy day you have to wait a bit.
The staff is nice and the speak few different languages.

Awesome place. I think I have not see so funny and friendly stuff in ages. Food was good. But the dezerts where outstanding. And once more the personal was thebiggest pros. I will totally visit again.

Um espaço incrível boa confecção e bons produtos a promoção da RP - Helena quase excelente. Não leva 5 pelos empregados ... Vale a pena visitar e ignorar estes. Local muito bonito e histórico no seguimento dos cafés de principio de séc XX.

Nice drinks, Hendricks served well chilled with just right amount of cucumber, with Gordon's they are asking how u like it - they know what they are doing.
Unfortunately for me; I ate earlier and cant fit any more of that deliciously looking goodies am watching here.
